Really lovely. Impressed. This is what is possible and even more when the federating units are independent of the centre and allowed to venture with little hindrance. They get creative, they get serious, they think commerce and industry. They do stuff for themselves. Well done Anambra and hopefully many more years of good leadership to come.

So far So Good, senior man Kelz has shown us the stuff he is made of...

In as much as Senior Man is banging in the goals recently, we should also thank Brendan Rodgers for having faith in our Nigeria GOAT and also building his confidence level.

Some coaches are just like General Buhari... They'll demoralize you and help to kill your dream just like the way the Buhari-led administration is doing to Nigeria youths.
Nifty performance last night. Must be the most improved player in the Premiership this season. However still has to work on his three Achilles Heels. Pace, Movement and that notoriously weak right foot and the sky will not be his limit.

But my post is about the guy behind him in the picture.
Boy, Nigeria needs to get Eberechi Eze into the Eagles before the big boys wake up and snatch that lad from Palace.
Eze is a running, dribbling, shooting replica of Jay-Jay and the golden piece the Eagles badly need in the team.

Watched him closely yet again yesterday and he was the epitome of Steve McQueen. So cool on the ball...his close control, switch play, dribbles and turn of pace just takes your breathe away. It just a pity he plays in a Mickey Mouse club coached by a washed up gaffer if not England will definitely have snapped him up.

The NFF needs to move fast and get this guy at all cost. I mean all costs. If we miss him we will regret the decision for half a soccer generation because I personally cannot see where Nigeria is going to raise another mercurial 10 from particularly since our youth soccer program is moribund.

Don't really think so...Vardy was equally on fire earlier in the season. Think the problem is they carelessly lost a couple of games they shouldn't have.....but hey, its football can't win all the time..
When you look at their squad size and budget you must agree they are punching above their weight. Their major concern will be keeping Brendan Rogers for another season.

With Tottenham having lost Julian Nagelsmann to Bayern and the uncertainty about what Arsenal's Arteta can scrap up from a woefully patchy season there are potentially bigger projects available over the summer.

Its hard to see who can replace Rogers at his performance levels except perhaps Steven Gerrard. Leicester City should be concerned.

And we have national assembly that are controlled. They are either partakers of the problems, benefiting from the problems or are to afraid of the trouble perpetrators.
They said it was more important to have a National Assembly that works hand in glove with the Executive so they got rid of the 8th Senate (?) and pressed for a new one occupied by 'yes men' to head it. What has the cooperation done to move Nigeria forward. Today the National Assembly instead of being the hallowed chamber is the 'hollowed chambers', completely void of any sense of citizen representation, of checks and balances and any form of useful legislation to save the nation.

Is this not the dividend of crass ignorance on the part of those who vigorously promoted the autocracy we have today. Can they see the result of putting all your eggs in one basket. Can they see the difference between the stability and ease of chair with four legs (Executive, Judiciary, Legislature and Citizenry), a stool with three legs, a bicycle with two wheels and a pogo stick of autocratic rule... where you will have to expend enormous amounts of energy, focus and dexterity just to stay upright...

One again I wish to remind Nigerians. That you cannot have a better country than your intellect can deliver on a personal level. And that we cannot experience a better country than we are prepared to sacrifice for and lay down our sentiments to claim.

In a sad way he is about right. But once again, like I frequently say the nature and structure of Nigeria has thrown up a pair of contradictions and fed us with Hobson's choice on this matter like many as we reside between the rock and a hard place.

By every normal sense of decency and fidelity this man has no business whatsover near government, near leadership or remotely near sensitive national assignments in a diverse, multi ethnic, multi religious society such as ours simply because he is extreme in his views and far too brash in his present disposition to suggest anything but a lifetime practice of bigotry and intolerance.

But Sheikh Gumi is saying clearly for everyone to hear that this man has a constituency, a large, fragile and dangerous constituency that is perhaps just held by the fingertips in the mainstream, perhaps just held at the fringes of what many of us term normal society and removing their 'leading light' may as well push them over the edge and firmly into extremism.

Wither Nigeria. We either restructure to normalise this country or soon we won't have any.

Attention to detail should be paid to the landscaping of the entire area surrounding the centre, as well as the approach road leading off from the main road!

There should be less concrete and more greenery..possibly with the addition of a centrally located fountain as a focal point!
I may not necessarily agree with this. You appear to be tilting the planned use towards a recreation/public park sort of thing, the kind of applications we struggle in Nigeria to maintain.

I will rather have it used strictly for conferences and term programs/events after which it is cleaned up and shut down, not kept constantly open with accessible grounds just like the ICC in Abuja.

If not you certainly won't like to see it in 5 years. It should hold no attraction other than the programs and events it will host.

Convention centres as I call them are not frequently used or can I say are low traffic buildings and unlike sporting stadia are not subjected to abuse both by man and the elements.

With decent management it can keep in shape for decades to come. Just needs renewals and upgrades from time to time.

That is why the quality of materials and build must be top notch to keep the cost of maintenance reasonable.

Cancer is all about the clock. You slipped up by letting such severe symptoms go unattended for a whole two months. But thank goodness it is still relatively early. Now go aggressively against it with all your body and mind can take. And give your body a fighting chance by stopping particularly any habits that scatter and ties down your defensive forces round about your body. Live clean...best of luck.

Nah our midfield is A okay! Ndidi is class, Etebo is decent, there's this other left footed midfielder with dreads who is fire and Iheanacho as a CAM is great!

What we need are centre backs man. Those yellow boys are not doing it for me.
What is Ndidi's business in this discussion about the forward play of the eagles which is a huge problem.

We saw it time and again the last international break. The centre of the team is hollow requiring huge ball carrying distances by the defensive unit leading to many, many turnovers in midfield because none of them are good ball handlers.

We need someone who will sit in front of Ndidi and distribute the ball to 7, 9 or 11 so that the poor Leicester boy can hang back and do his proper job.

Etebo is not as comfortable with the ball at his feet in motion as Eze. His only advantage is better strength and a better shot. But in pace, trickery and link up, Eze beats him hands down.

Yes. He is the missing piece in that team. That 10 shirt should be his and is certainly a better replacement for Jay Jay than his Everton playing cousin perhaos might ever be.

Highly skillful and very, very, very comfortable and comported in the ball. Very few weaknesses that cannot be coached out with better management that what is on iffer in Crystal Palace.

Certainly will not make England for now and a stint with the Eagles at CAF and perhaps the Qatar WC will almost certainly get him a Champions League club because that is where his full potential lie.

That was an appeal to sentiment back then. The kind of thing we talk about day after day.

However no one checked to see behind the veneer, the facade whether there was any substance, capacity and competence to deliver and even if there was, bstely anyone asked for a plan as to how those lofty promises would be fulfilled.

That is the problem with Nigerians. They will never ever face issues squarely and with a focus and attention better than toddlers.

Watch how insecurity will degenerate to politics and personality battles while the problem is totally ignored and allowed to fester.

The average Nigerian like its inept government has not a clue about how to fix things and this dearth of knowledge is reflected in the over abundance of useless sentiment whenever important issues arise.

Poor quality citizens that cannot focus objectively and raise a critical mass of advocacy for every aspect of good governance cannot expect anything other than a hellish society. Everywhere else in the progressive world it is the citizens who drive government.

Oga. The most important thing being set here is precedent. As the bar of governance continues to be lowered society will have to adapt to worse and worse standards.

If today this can be accepted and society has to 'forgive' as he said, who else are we all willing to forgive.

Perhaps your political party is out of government and a separatist champion or ethnic militant is appointed into the new government.

Will you be willing to forgive and expect to trust such a fellow with sensitive goverment business.

My friend, precedent defines societies and this government has placed this country on a powder keg, a slippery slope. So expect more radicals and ultras to be attracted to government in future and just hope and pray they are not antagonistic to your sensibilities.

He cannot finace the club if he eventually purchases it. His financial strength can't carry the weight.

It's very easy to run into deficit and debt when you manage such a big club like Machester United. He isn't buying the club (physically) but he is buying history, culture and reputation which must be preserved by splashing cash season in, season out. Otherwise, the club will begin to lose its relevance and reputation and after which; the fierce fans will begin to protest for him to sell to another willing buyer.

Think of Mike Ashley of Newcastle.
He can always raise debt to handle that. Haba. Most of these folks have borrowed to run those clubs after buying them particularly the American owners of United, Pool and Arsenal. Barca and Real are on speed dial to major Spanish banks.

You don't have to be an oligarch or an oil sheikh to own clubs. Just inherit the financial structures once you buy out and a whole host of financial houses will be queuing up to rudder you along.

Remember when you buy those huge clubs you are also inheriting a chain of assets as well including corporate sponsors, suppliers, asset managers, etc, all either eyeing the brand or a share of the huge potential earnings.

Well, except you are buying into a rundown, almost bankrupt and whitewashed brand that was Chelsea Fc just before Roman rode to the rescue at the grave site all those years ago.
