Dickeyrider:PSG will. 3 away goals. |
Neymar Jnr. torturing Bayern... |
A society that works. That has values and standards and zero sentiment. Even if the man crawls and weeps tears of blood, his past cannot be erased and it has spoken against him. That is how sane societies curb impunity and break the cycle of criminality. |
BigBashiru:Hmmm....making some sense here. Perhaps it is being prepared as a collateral for all these ambiguous Chinese loans collected wily nily.... Well I am permitted to speculate. Nothing of government is always black and white. |
Mr Sagay. The citizens of progressive nations donot 'pray' for deliverables. They roll up their sleeves and demand accountability in planning and pursuit. They supervise the mission more or less by themselves by educating and enlightening themselves having repented from sentiment. With all the angst against the project no detail has emerged to date as to exactly what is to be done so that the people through civil society, technical bodies, university egg heads, and experts can vouch that first, what is proposed is the solution and secondly, how much it will cost represents real value for money. Once more Nigeria"s affairs are being run like Sheikh Al Maktoum runs Dubai. "I want the tallest, biggest, fastest...and most expensive and he gets it. No questions asked. Unfortunately we are a democracy, not a kingdom even if we ignorantly feel we have more than enough resources to waste. So our citizens just cannot afford to sit back in poverty and hinge our bets on a Minister of State who owes us practically nothing, whose time in office is coming to an end and who once escaped the anti sleaze authorities, and can as well do so again. Where are we going to see the 1.5billion dollars if the stack of pipes doesn't work....prayer?? |
MrUchenna1:Because the people are docile and confused, there is no universal standard for what is right or wrong, acceptable and unacceptable in Nigeria. Some say the man is too far leaning to be a Miniater in a diverse, democratic set up. Others say it does not matter. That is where the problem lies and it reflects in the mandate of our political representatives in the Legislature. No standards, so everyone put forward passes muster. If we the people discover or evolve universal values and consequently the press knows who the Legislature will screen out as too extreme or perhaps too corrupt or even too inept or some other social malady then the press is automatically empowered to go fishing for information. But what we have today is the mainstream press forced to retract almost everything it puts out because it gets eggs over its faces from a confused society that has no standards. For fear of sounding like a broken record, that is why we say time and again that a progressive Nigeria will have at its base an untangled mass of roots called restructuring. There is no other way to adopt universal values outside mass, national rebooting conflicts. |
Desperate defending. But what was this goverment thinking when it hired a man with such a colorful past. It calls again the question about the quality of screening and the depth to which the National Assembly is unwilling to go to avoid unnecessary drama. A Federal Minister is a weighty job and one that interfaces internationally. We need a proper working Legislature to avoid national embarrassment going forward. Once again Nigerians just must sit down and agree to aggregate values to form a stable, progressive society. There is far to much divergence in views, ideologies and perceptions to run this country smoothly. |
Ezmans:Any city settlment on the banks of a major river like the Niger cannot toy with its water channelisation system. When it is urbaned up it is bound to act as a funnel for other settlements higher up. In those places drains are more important than even roads. A pity town planning lags severely behind land occupancy in most parts of Nigeria. |
uvie66: Crystal Palace is a hard definition... African Union FC....Africa, Caribbean & The Pacific Island boys...or just Her Majesty's Commonwealth Club...Ol' Roy surely must be getting his vegetables regularly and clearly won't hang his boots. |
luvinhubby:My big question to which no reasonable answer has been given is that if Dangote is deliberately gouging his cement prices why has his fierce production competitors in BUA and Lafarge not taken advantage of the situation for a run on market share. Why are they not selling at the sdo called "real prices'. |
thesicilian:And the fact that due to poverty there are many more mouths to feed between factory and corner shop. In an inflated economy vultures gather around the few goods available. |
Kabongo1:Read again. The factory they said. |
Liposure:Totally agree. 100,000 running Kaduna state?... doing what?. He can cut that figure down to 25,000 while deploying technology to bridge any gaps. The problem is there are MDA's for everything under the sun just as at the Federal level. If Nigeria is properly structured you don't need more that five to seven items on the exclusive list covered by ministries, the rest can be handled by Commissions which are essentially private partnerships of which everyone is paid according to performance. No government liability there. Transportation, Petroleum, Communications, Works & Housing, Sports, Tourism, Science & Technology amongst many should not be government businesses but government regulatories, government refereeing only and Commissions suffice. If I was a governor I would reform my state's tax system and end blanket rates. I will rather collect targeted levies that are project or sector specific for exclusive items and sell specific bonds for PPP's. |
There is nothing between for most Nigerians. They just cannot connect the dots. They cannot relate their actions and inactions with their experiences. |
marketmouth:A poor quality citizenry CANNOT empower good quality leadership thus cannot experience a better sense and standard of living. It is a vicious cycle. |
The show of shame has started early. The buying of consciences instead of the selling of solutions, proofs that NOTHING is going to change going forward. Absolutely nothing. Well I wish him and his band of supporters all the best. Truly sympathize. |
And folks want go pay N500 to Ibadan for all these. There is a serious disconnect somewhere. |
Lexusgs430:You must recognise that things do change. The Nigeria of the 60's and 70's is not the same as that of today. No society remains the same. All must evolve to survive and thrive. Nigeria has refused to evolved, so her numerous challenges. The picture is stark, reform or dissolve. |
Lexusgs430:Wishing you a successful, productive week and be safe. |
Dwaynestefan:The youth of the nations you run to once stood up against this kind of things. They did not end up in Africa for succour but reformed their societies and came here as conquerors. Your choice. |
Lexusgs430:Nothing wrong with that. The LAPD is completely 'disjointed' with the NYPD. Let everyone take care of his peculiarities. We seem unable to let go of central control, evidently a bastion of colonialism. Nigeria has grown far too big and far too complex to be understood and handled from one office. |
chuksville: Kai oga...why are yea so naive. An apex predator that lives for 60 years plus does not visit Burger King every afternoon.......what you see is the most advanced and stealthiest killing machine known to man. A beast that can hold its breathe for 30 minutes underwater and slow its heart rate to near death to create absolute a zero vibratory bubble around it and can remain in that position for days... We are just lucky not to have them in numbers in this part of the world. There would have been a legion of tales. Dog ke... |
Plastic Martinelli. Hope he doesn't go down the road of Arsenal's Hall of Pain that has Abou Diaby as Director and Jack Wheelchair as Chief Operating Officer... |
The grass is not always greener on the other side. Never go into marraige if you have not rid yourself of self. |
Reorganise the security architecture in Nigeria.... no way. The owners of Nigeria love it this way and unfortunately the peons are far sold down the river and completely hapless. In sane societies these recurring incidents will stir universal outrage and desperate solutions will be sought. But here society stews while those in charge seek further wedges of division. |
Ishilove:It will be a very, very sad day. It will be the end of an era. I personally cannot imagine how I will feel. These are the people and their generations who have shaped the world in more than one way or the other, from Africa to Europe to the Americas, to much of Asia and Arabia, their foot prints have been everywhere. The Empire is the reason why the world is by an large Anglicised and much of the laws that govern humanity are framed in their image. It is no coincidence that they remain the pre eminent royal family globally and the very definition of the old world. Her passing will be a big game changer. |
God save the Queen. |
Nothing can ever remove controversy or drama from the game. That is why we just soooo love the Prem. ![]() |
RMoneyInTheBank:It is very rude and disrespectful not to call ahead of a visit. While you may not be able to control that due to cultural differences you should not let go of the values of decency. Consider the visit as unofficial with this poignant example. Mr. President can and has visited the United Kingdom on a State visit, to attend an International Confetence and privately to attend to his health. Same person, same country, different purposes and so different receptions. A State visit will roll out the red carpet and brass band, the private visit will likely happen in the dead of the night with only the local law enforcement informed. You are the king or Head of State of your house. If visits are random, unplanned, ill informed then your representation is not always mandatory. You don't need to roll out the red carpet and stand in attendance. She may then come and go as she pleases without even a 'coke and a smile'. Keep your respect. It is your house. |
Juliusmalema:Don't mind them. Always shallow on detail of how to. They all want to learn on the job. I will, I will is the bastion of an infantile democracy. And the people grounded in sentiment will not push for working plans. |
Some do. Depending on how 'colurful' your past and background is. But in contemporary pentecostalism it is not as wide spread as posited. A lot of issues and things people seek deliverance from or about are not due to faulty spiritual DNA but issues of ignorance, disobedience and out right rebellion.... ..Issues of 'non conformed' minds. If you say there is witchcraft out there, the scriptures say the effects of disobedience alone can be worse. 1 Sam 15:23. |
Afiastikal:It is best to first learn how to communicate with God before aspiring to hear from him. There is a big difference in tje Chriatian world between God's Word and God's acts. Just like a baby before the mother, there is a lot the mother can and will do for the well being of the child but a child will have to learn to communicate before he can have his own will established and his desires met. I will always say that the most important decisions in the life of a Christian particularly those impacting and influencing relationships are best handled by God. You certainly are not a mind reader neither can you be a soul influencer neither is your potential.partner obliged to fear you, so without God interfacing relationships in particular are no morr than wild gambles. It may work, it may not. If you want certainty in your future relationship with a man or a woman as husband or wife let God run the show completely. By faith make your intentions and desires known to him and watch as he perfects a choice. |
