Oga, Brazil has made 2 tactical changes to exploit that poor Nigerian midfield. They are controlling that area comletely now. And we will lose this game if we cannot respond.

This is the problem I have with Rohr, his inability to make changes. He doesn't react well to poor play(ers). By the time changes are made the result is set.

We should stop playing african teams in friendlies. They won't bring out the flaws in our team or the seriousness it needs to establish consistency.

As usual, from some of the responses, the prisoners are not in a hurry to leave their jails, as a matter of fact they are ready to wed their jailers.

Nigerians are not ready to be helped. Mr Adeboye should not bother. He is successful and content for life. Let the crabs remain the in crab bucket. The fire is not hot enough for them to cooperate to a way out.

Reprobate citizens.
Politics › Re: Buhari To Upgrade Presidential Aircraft With N1.5bn by Reference(m): 10:21pm On Oct 12, 2019
All the resources stolen under previous goverments is today legally appropriated by a rubber stamp Legislature. That is why with all the recoveries, revenue drives, increased taxation, sky high borrowing, the standard of humanity continues to tank in Nigeria.

The watch word of this administration is simple, "...if we can't steal it we just budget it and take it anyway...'

In theory they are not corrupt but in reality the treasury remains empty.

Folks, this is the next level... Legalised brigandage and it starts by controlling the other 2 stools of power, the Legislature and the Judiciary.

Folks, whether it is stolen or it is wasted the effects remain the same...wide spread poverty..

How do you separate money for civil servants from the legislature and executive?
The legislature budget covers the civil servants and politicians there. Same for executive and judiciary. So I'm asking how you're able to separate the personnel costs for civil servants politicians
With this conversation perhaps Nigerians are beginning to wake up to ask serious quetions about what their money is used for.

The era of electing people and sitting idly by while they run the country aground will soon be over.... after a great suffering.

If you are a civil servant out there you'd better start explaining what is happening to extricate yourselves from the unfolding tragedy. Let us know which set of people are hell bent in destroying Nigeria so that when the revolution starts the peons with pangas don't start from your offices.

Civil servants....WHO IS RUNNING THIS COUNTRY DOWN.

Good morning to Nigerians. It is great to see you all waking to reality. When I said only restructuring can dolve the Nigeria problem even the most senior member of this government from the South, yes the Vice President said it was unnecessary. That is how bad things are and how hopeless the future is.

Nigeria will simply never and I mean never get out of the dark and develop. Quote me anywhere.

A time is coming when civil servants will have to act like civil servants the world over and start taking responsibility for the condition of this country.

If Nigeria is in a mess they are partly responsible. It is they who execute the directives of the political class without resistance and engender the bad goverments they have become victims of.

They worked in the office of Ms. Winifred Eyo-Ita for instance and processed dubious funds running into billions of naira for her perhaps getting to lick a few crumbs off the table. Then they want the common man in his village to help fight for them when nothing is left in the treasury.

This is just what I cannot understand.

Buckubuck:
The question you should ask is how the wage bill ballooned from 1.08tr to 3.08tr in 3 yrs while the former minister of finance claimed she removed ghost workers and purged the civil service. Also ask why IPPIS has not been fully implemented till now.
The end result is that TI's assertion that corruption has increased in this admin may be true afterall
The NLC should know how it balooned from 1 to 3 trillion. Their members work in the Ministry of Finance. Their members are part of goverment so what is the pretense about. If you are exposed to the vices what stops you from making these known in negotiations. Why doesn't it make it known to the public for support.

Can the NLC claim it has not benefitted a cent from the massive increases In goverment personel costs over the past 3 years. Or what has it done to help goverment keep its expenditure manageable or it is not bothered about Nigeria going bankrupt.

If Nigeria is to get good governance the trade unions are a critical component in moderating. Good goverment is the only guarantee of minimum living standards.

Angelfrost:
If what we spend should be tied to what we earn (I don't disagree), then why do we run one of the most expensive governments in the universe??!...
Ha. Because we donot tie our expenditure to our earnings. I am a businessman and I know how much I should be spending on my staff. It is factored into every product I make and service I render in percent terms. If demand is good I will naturally need more staff or pay better for more work, if the market is poor I reduce staff and cut benefits. This is common sense.

You must have heard job cuts in the public sector in the UK, policemen being laid off, etc. When Obama came onboard the armed forces size was massively trimmed and many military bases closed. Why is it that a consistently struggling country called Nigeria cannot cut its costs.

You have heard it N1+ trillion in 2016 to N3+ trillion today at the same time there is a recession. This is reckless. Folks have often asked why the massive borrowings despite the hype of recoveries and blockages, well this is the answer.

Goverment people have succeeded in taking legally what was being stolen previously. They have managed to increase their personnel budgets massively between 2016 and now and with little Legislative scrutiny are stealing from the public purse backed by the law.

So the catch 22 scenario for the 'common man' is simple... Cut their benefits and they steal or allow them empty the treasury legally...

You should have stopped at the first line....

Fg can afford it... They know exactly what to do, they just don't want to do it...

A government whose major campaign promise and swansong was cutting cost of governance should do better than this current charade.
My friend we cannot afford it. Period. Unlike other bone headed simpleton citizens my criteria is earnings not expenditure. What you spend should be tied to what you earn. That is how life has fashioned it. Nigerians are trapped in a viscious cycle of comparisons. They want more because someone else is paid more. Who does that.

Will a man give his wife money based on what his neighbour gives his wife or what he earns. The managers of Nigeria should realise the facts. They either raise more revenue or cut down staff size or this country will go bankrupt simple.

The National Assembly should act and form legislation pegging the maximum amounts available for personnel costs as a factor of the precious year's revenues. They should also compel the trade unions to sign in to make it legally binding on them. So that if oil rises everyone gets a bonus, if militants strike everyone visits the barbing salon.

Also new civil servants employed should have a clause inserted that clearly states that it is not a job for life and that downsizing or rightsizing is a fact in the real world. Enough of this nonsense.

3.08.trillion for just 10 percent of our population. 3.08 trillion just to organise Nigerians... this country is bankrupt mentally before its is becoming bankrupt financially.

Look, relationships are about sharing. A successful relationship exists when everyone sacrfices something. Is it a black thing that desires all or nothing?...

All the herders want is to resume grazing. With all the problems their practices have constituted over the recent years one will have expected them to have done some reforms internally themselves so they have something to negotiate with.

When something is offered in battle even your strongest adversaries will pause the shooting. Miyetti Allah should offer something to states in the south that they can work with. A successful relationship will need movement on all sides.

The problem of this country is far from President Buhari.....Nigeria as an institution is driven by the workforce....The civil servants in ministries, departments, agencies and all....They are the main problem of Nigeria. Just look at this...government made adequate provisions and yet some cloud of individuals decide to embezzle majorities sweat!
Why will you deprive people their entitlement, what they deserve having worked..just for your own selfish gainhuh They should rot in JAIL
If the President allows democracy to work then progress can be made. If you pick your child everytime he falls he will take far longer to learn to walk The disruption of the Judiciary and Legislature by the Executuve will not help them develop in good time to strengthen our democracy.

When you permit institutions to fall and then pick themselves up, compete amongst thenselves for good governance then things get done. If for instance the judiciary is slow, politicised, corrupt or caught up in other vices all you need to do is get to the press and make your case before the citizens and allow them deal with the Judiciary.

In developed climes the various arms of government compete and battle it out for supremacy in the court of public opinion. Here the Executive wants to create the other arms of government in its image. This is wrong. Democracy is about the people and for the people. Let the people determine by themselves what is right, wrong and acceptable and by what standards they wish to live.

There are far too many clandestine personal interests and subterranean power plot going on in government that do Nigerians no good.

This is what angry civil servants see and they want their share.... this is what angry citizens see and they refuse to pay more taxes.

It is time Nigerians wake up and start paying serious attention to the way they are governed. Government cannot come up with endless stories of financial lack and be seeing doing this kind of thing.

There must be thorough scrutiny of the budget and all excess fat trimmed off before they consider asking a beleaguered citizenry to pay more.

How can an agency of government in just one small state be having such amount in raw cash from a budget thoroughly approved by the Legislature. And someone, a suffering citizen will say scrutiny is opposition?....
