That is why I repeat to anyone who cares to hear, perceprion is everything. Intent counts for nothing, No one can see into your mind. The prove of your thinking lies with your actions. The man's nature has been proven by his actions. There is no iota of proof that he thinks otherwise. His predatory instincts were exposed in his most unguarded moment. On the other side of the argument folks have discussed extensively is the role played by these female students some of whose appearances, disposition and actions are more akin to skanks and hookers. There is no proof whatsoever that such folks have a noble intent during their sojourn in these instiutions. My personal position is clear. I donot care who you are. As long as I have some authority over you and liberties to decide my interactions, I will condemn and flush out any individual lady I see as a threat to my morals instantly. This is where I blame these academics. They cannot handle mere students the age of their kids. I donot blame them for the acts of indiscretion because anyone who falls into a fire will get burnt, What I blame them for is their inability or unwillingness to control their environments and set the standards of their interactions. If I were a lecturer in Unilag what will make a lady come up with such a proposition sting or no sting. Who will dare do that when I have surrounded myself with interlocking rings of fear. Folks in on such a plan will have long dissuaded her before she has a chance of springing such a trap. |
Dreal1247:Multi-billionaires all of them. Stole to satisfaction at One Naira to a Dollar....making the present thieves 370 times poorer in comparison. I visited a friend, son of one of them at home just a couple of years after they left goverment, won't name the person or location and what I saw at that young age is imprinted in my mind till today. Everything in the living room was gold trim. From the embroidery on the curtains to the seat cushions....persian rugs, cabinets, everything either plated or woven in gold thread.... How this country has survived hundreds of these kinds of people over the decades remains a mystery. |
Why not. In Nigeria not a monarchy ruled by kings and feudal overlords. He is lucky his name is not Daniel if not King Darius will have fed him to the lions.... |
plaindealer:This is a chicken and egg argument. Industries donot exist in those areas because Nigeria shipping is structured around Apapa, simple. Mark you it is not as if a port automatically attracts shipping or industries. Maritime trade takes many years to form but if the ports exist then the possibilities exist. If you donot provide infrastructure how do you want to attract investment. So to say there is no justification when the cost of doing business anywhere outside Lagos is not competitive is disingenuous. How do I establish a factory in Calabar and hope to compete with someone who establishes same in Apapa, Ikeja or Agbara when I am down N500,000 before my raw materials reach my factory. That is why Lagos is congested, simple economics. Every industrial concern from large scale manufacturers to small scale shop owners know the route to Lagos for all manner of inputs and products and the cost of transport is always a big, deciding factor. |

JonDon12:My exact position in the morning. They don't want debate so they put him there. They don't want argument so they can have their money fast. But citizens, please ask me. When your wallet is lean and you go to the market....WON'T YOU 'PRICE' THINGS. ![]() You want me to pay more tax. Will I not price what you are selling. Will the vendor ask me to shut up. Can't I ask you to come down a little....to give up something for me....like say a hundred new cars, like say 10 percent pay cut...like say 2 or 3 less foreign trips... Democracy is negotiation nau....haba. |
If the citizens of this country donot wake up and take active interest in the way they are governed, I am just so sorry for us all. When your contractor does a shoddy job and your roof leaks like a sieve whether you like it ir not you will gain knowledge in building and engineering. When you have the misfortune of meeting a quack doctor who has worsened your condition you will shortly graduate with a degree in medicine complete with stethoscope and blood pressure kits. When your auto mechanic is threatening to turn your prized wonder on wheels to a push cart then overalls will push your agbada deep into your wardobe and you begin to handle a wheel spanner like cutlery. If we like let us not desire knowledge of basic economics and how countries prosper or go bust. Let us sit there dumbfounded and wait for angelic manna from Aso Rock, I am just so sorry. |
grandstar:There are not enough ports simply for logistical reasons which makes the cost of business prohibitive. There is just too much cargo on our roads destroying them. If you want to succeed in industrialization you need to have your production centres close to your primary cost centres and this starts with proximity to imports since we make absolutely nothing. Why will I want to pay an extra half a million to freight my steel plates from Lagos, over 950 kilometres when I have a port 200 kilometres from my factory. Abeg, this country is not ready for business. |
And where is the National Assembly for them to hear our own view of the issue....dead. All they will say is, 'carry go oh Lord and Master....' Anything we see we take. We have made our beds. |
And what benefit will that confer on the citizens which are the objective of these institutions and democracy in general. Stop propaganda. What are the benefits to citizens of a lame duck legislature. Name them. Prove them. Show them. All you folks want is submission so that you rule like emperors, like kings. The black man cannot organise himself. He needs feudal power. He cannot accept debate. He cannot cannot accept criticism, he cannot accept competition, he cannot live in a cauldron of ideas that is why he lives in darkness because he cannot stimulate problem solving ideas. Nigeria has a myriad of challenges from security to the economy, from revenue generation to structural imbalances all unsolvable without rigorous debate and a cross fertilisation of ideas. Real democracy assumes no one knows it all. Nigeria democracy assumes the Head of State knows it all and the Legislature exists to append only his ideas... That is why by 2023 nothing, absolutely nothing will have fundamentally changed, fundamentally improved in Nigeria. So let them continue looking into the rear view mirror at the last Legislature and drive this country into a ditch. It is their calling card to worsen everything. |
Hmmm....Mr. President the closet socialist.... it won't work oh.... |
This is fantastic news for the Nigeria automotive industry and should trigger an avalanche of investment, expansion and job creation. Now it is time for the Innoson's of Nigeria to meet the government half way be massive investment in expanding production and more importantly increasing local content to drive prices down. Great news. The CBN should take a step further to make sure auto financing is exclusively for Nigerian vehicles and should severely sanction any bank lending credit for any foreign brand whatsoever. Let the likes of Toyota and Daimler finance their own brands if they want us to buy them. Afterall they have bigger banks backing them and have used that massive leverage to dump on Nigeria for decades. We must industrialize by fire or force. |
The right word to use is 'develop'. The term 'invent' is best reserved for things that do not exist hitherto. Solar powered devices of every kind exist in the market. Anyway, good work. |
Another state suffering from a total failure of multi-party politics. A state consistently shunning the opportunity to change the status quo and rid itself a a failed PDP, a party that has shown it cannot rid itself from the torried influence of TA Orji and his peculiar brand of misgovernance. Abia state should ordinarily be the industrial engine of Nigeria. The creativity of its people, the raw talent of being able to turn blueprints into functional items, the reverse engineering masters of Africa are not supposed to crawl under the dead weight of such an inept political class. These are folks who do not ordinarily give a hoot about government or who rules or what goverment can or cannot do for them because they create rather than solicit wealth yet the very bssic function of government which is as an organiser of society is patently lacking. If all the infrastructure in Aba belonged to individuals believe me that city would be one of the best in Nigeria but once again, Nigeria is structured in such a way that you cannot but lie down and bed with failure and suffer untold hardship because government must rule. |
DEBJOCH1:Continue to make light of this mess to mask your ignorance about what job creation is. That is why Nigeria is backward, citizens are terribly ignorant. Is this job creation? What is being created here? What is the product of that employment? What value does it create? Are the services he offers taxable? Does it add to the GDP? But when we exist in a society where public service expenditure is not related to productivity and earnings in anyway then poverty for all is loading. When government gives itself pay increases without any evidence of better earnings, better management or harder work bankruptcy is loading. Let them continue to test the citizens, let them continue to press the buttons of revolution. One day, one will indeed click. Any citizen that supports any tax increase without demanding this nonsense ends is a dunce and totally unfit to vote. |

And they increase VAT for them too since they MUST BE above minimum wage. Goverment is a scam and I will continue to call all citizens to resist any attempt to make government bigger and to increase the cost of governance at their expense. NO TAX TO PAY ANYONE's SALARIES UNTIL GOVERNMENT AT ALL LEVELS REFORM. If the Jigawa NLC likes they can shut down the government or not over this scam. It is their business. They will be tarnished with the same brush. They cannot pretend that this is alright and we should pay up. |
backnbeta:A gynaecologist is TRAINED to handle what he sees at work just as a banker is TRAINED to feel impassionate about mountaines of cash just as an athlete is TRAINED to endure pain and a soldier is TRAINED to ignore fear. Psychology tells us that when a section of the brain is subjected to over stimulus for a period it is likely other sections suffer degeneration or progress rapidly in the opposite direction to compensate. That is why they say soldiers are the greatest lovers...because a good part their training involves learning to hate, learning to kill, damning the fonsequences of taking life... A thorough academician similarly will have relationship issues if his mindset is heavily involved in his field of endeavour and is bound to have problems relating properly with the opposite sex. That is why it is absolutely necessary to keep fuel far from the fire. |
1000LIKES:Yes. A man can be harassed by the way a woman chooses to cover her body. There is no modern society I know anywhere in the world which doesn't have limits. Even the most liberal. Within the general society microcosyms often decide how to regulate behavior in line wirh their sub cultures, sensibilities, and operational requirements. Though colleges are expected to be an incubator for liberalism and play a useful tool as a melting pot of various cultures into dynamic models of progress, they are also citadels of learning.... and learning requires thinking... and thinking requires focus.... and focus requires attention.... And attention does not require the distraction of the temptation of averse sexuality on display. You simply cannot promote mental excellence in an environment where the body constantly gets in the way of the mind. Yes, dressing is important to excellence and mental competence. It is inversely proportional. Why lecturers and authorities are not more proactive in heading off the damage these incidents do to their lives and reputations by setting standards and regulations baffles me quite frankly. You cannot gain access to my office looking like a tart for many reasons. I uphold ans guard my reputation built over decades with great care. Yes, when enough men have lost careers, reputations, fortunes and liberties perhaps they will begin to view themselves as potential victims for once and those considered innocent as villans. We are gradually getting there. Yes, some women do weaponise sexuality to conquer, destabilise and destroy.... since biblical times. |
dalongjnr:Oga, democracy in most parts of the world operating a Presidential system gives an incumbent 4 years to prove he has the capacity to better the lives of the citizens under his watch irrespective of how or in what condition he met them. If tenures were open ended and if performance was not time constrained or calibrated every politician will fold his hands and do nothing. If time considerations were to be given the past governor will still be in power and no elections will hold until he fixed things. I have heard this stupid excuse at all levels from the ruling APC but I did not hear the PDP ever say they lost elections or failed performance due to decades of preceding military misrule. This is untenable, lazy and a tacid admittance of failure. Presidents, governors and councillors are elected to perform, to find and administer solutions not give excuses. They promised to. No school will give you unlimited time to learn a skill or build mental competence. They folllow a curriculum of teaching and set examinations at the end of semester or session whether an individial candidate is ready or not. Pass or fail is time regulated. Yahaya Bello's examination comes up in November. We are not interested in whether he has been reading or playing around. If the citizen examiners find him worthy he will pass and if they don't he will be rusticated, period. No sentiments. All we say to the people of Kogi, protect the standards of your school and give power only to deserving grads. Kogi State doesn't have to be a School of Hard Knocks. |
Can't see how that is possible within an investment cycle. Anyway with no firm schedule we can just assume this to be propaganda. 'We will...' sounds typically political hot air. |
Aidejay:Is there a uniform for church attendance. I wear what I work with if I am at work and wear what is smart when on leave or holidays. He is a sports person so will be wearing sporting outfits in church during his working week which may include Sundays for pro sportsmen. |
marcjoe:Indeed and the citizens, the masters will forever make excuses for those who claim to serve them... the bane of the 'brilliant', high IQ'ed citizen. |
LegendHero:8 months... Lagos has amongst the longest unbroken run of government in Nigeria's nascent democracy. The APC has led that State since 1999 with no form of break whatsoever, not even internal opposition has nroken this run. Twenty years they have had to fix stuff. How long is required... another 60 years...It is so easy to be patronising but you know and I know what the problem is.... that is the total lack of democracy and Lagis State will become a poster child, a working example of what the difference is between a monarchy and a democracy. The truth is simple. Without the vigour, multiparty politics brings to democracy, performance in governance is just impossible and at best unsustainable. There is absolutely no reason for an appointee to perform and no incentive for a 'fixed' game to produce drama. We have talked about this, about Lagos and her politics time and time, election after election.... Just as Nigeria is, Lagos is equally overdue for a revolution.... like it or not, hide it or not. |
hotseat:'...two to tango...' Well that is left for the accused to prove and the rest of the college community to act on. If there is harassment by female grad students the authorities are in the best position to introduce some regulation. It is the name of their institution that is being tossed. They should fight for that. |
Both institutions should have dismissed him immediately or they will risk creating a bigger storm. |
lagoskind:Okay oh. It is now you want to seperate politics from governance abi, and when the time comes to massage egos in another setting you bring them back together. What is there to be gained from hiding facts and shielding those responsible. Why are we suddenly ashamed and lash out at those who wish to remind us of our poor decision making as a citizen nation. Will we not be comitted to repeating such mistakes and prolonging our agony if we cannot face them and learn lessons. The bad roads are a direct result of bad electoral choices. We empowered people who have no idea or plan on how to get things done. Simple. |
Kogi State will clearly be a case of 'we told you so'. No one, I repeat NO ONE from that state should come here complaining about misgovernance from the 1st of January 2020 after the opportunity to demonstrate people power and changed the status quo has been tossed away. I personally will unschackle s every atom of civility to give that person a mean piece of the darkest section of my mind. Because we are simply fed up courting retarded citizens who cannot seem to put one and one together. They ask if the black man, if the Nigerian mental faculty has any representation on the international IQ scale, well this another test. |
What exactly does the make-up industry positively add to humanity. Can anyone sincerely answer. Because it all looks like the buggest legal narcotic around. You spend huge amounts procuring the stuff, it gives only a temporary high because every night you come crashing down to reality, it creates a false sense of high and security and it ultimately leaves you in a ruined, wrinkled state in old age if you make it, as many deep practictioners rarely live long enough. I was indifferent about the whole thing until I came across an article on the role the skin plays in metabolism and circulation when I was looking for information about the effects of radiation on the human body. Indeed just as drugs can be administered through the skin and genetic altering radiation can occur through the skin, cosmetics can have very serious, effects not only on the skin, the kidneys and liver that protect the body from internal toxins but in rare cases can actually begin to tinker with the basic building blocks of life itself when it comes to reproductive health. Women and indeed men should take a long, hard look at what they apply to their skins, their hair and other external organs that interface with blood vessels and be sure they are not poisoning themselves with substances and elements they have very little knowledge about. The astronomical rise in birth defects and failed reproductive systems may have a correlation here. Certain cosmetics out there can be as potent as skin applied drug therapy. Are they equally as addictive as narcotics? Is the cosmetics industry deliberately 'drugging' folks out there? |
The class of 99 including Ole himself all in their late forties cannot be as inept as these lot if they decided to return today to the rescue. Times like these you wish football was like WWE where a long lost bloke just comes out of the woodwork in the middle of a grudge match to save him beleaguered friend and bam with a tag he's in the ring guns blazing.... ![]() Even Rooney and ol Ibra may bethe spark thus soul less team needs. |
topcin:Hind sight is always 20:20. Indeed it was absolutely true. Sir Alex handed down an empty shell of a club. Regression has definitely taken hold. It may take half a decade to get this club competing again. That, unfortunately is how soccer dynasties roll. Before Sir Alex United were no better than the average all-so-rans and those kind of managers that create tremendous legacies come by only once in a generation. |
pharmagba:Insurance cover must be in foreign exchange then. Night journey for what. Even I won't try that by road. |
