He cannot win it. Doesn't have the tact at the highest levels. |
Almunjid:We have told you people. Stop coming here to complain. Your case is closed. |
When you go to Texas what they want you to see as a tourist is the Alamo, the fort of the last stand against the Mexican invaders, not the offices, homes and workshops of the oil and gas industry which incidentally is significantly better organised and monumentally larger in scale. What we want to see in Bayelsa and Bonny perhaps is our own Alamo, the last stand of King Jaja against the British invaders. I agree that history is oft written by the victorious conquerors but surely there must be something left worth preserving to keep the flame of heritage lit. Africa in its laze keeps on whining about its colonial forgetting that there has been no territory on earth that has escaped conquest and retribution. Britain once belonged to Rome, Italy and Iceland/Norway of today. American once belonged to the British, French and Spanish, China once belonged to Japan and the Japanese were once irridiated with nuclear weapons. Still these nations have evolved, progressed, picked up the pieces of their heritage and presented the world with solid, real traditional experiences and have made a fortune in tourism with it The average Nigerian doesn't have a clue of his origins, thoughtless of creating a heritage of it, thoughtless of creating tourism from it, thoughtless of profitting from it despite his overwhelming expertise in bigotry, nepotism and a false sense of cultural supremacy. We are only experts at the negative. |
Of course, planned, built and maintained by foreigners, that's why. Nigerians will rather build mansions in the swamp. Second picture, bottom left. That is Nigeria. The real Nigeria. Britain does not boast of its Roman roads or its Viking forts, its historical heritage, that which it boasts about is all Anglo Saxon. Let us boast about the things we have done for ourselves. Where are the monuments of our true liberties. These are the shrines the people run to when they are under the oppression of their own. These are the things they remember. Nigeria has very little heritage and that is why it remains to be seen what it means to be Nigerian. |
eghuan1:Looks like having a taller cabin thus better customization prospects. |
Third world country. Taking loans to battle bugs... You just wonder what all the trillions invested in universities is for.... You just wonder what all the btrillions invested in the environment is for.... You just wonder what all the teillions invested in the health sector is for... ....of course paying salaries, buying SUV's and awarding shady contracts.... To get the real job done, to meet the real objectives of goverment you need loans. Like a man who spends all his wages on bling, booze and beauties. Then when the bills come he takes out IOU's... |
Excuse me, but what is a brain box?... |
Most of those responsible for the mess in Nigeria today...and regretfully their sons...and perhaps their sons' sons.... |
And the parents must be made to pay the fine of their lives. Next time and next life they will do a bit of algebra before deciding to procreate. The value and sanctity of life must be upheld. They think it is a joke or foolishness on the part of westeners when they decide to have just a couple, one or no children at all. |
godofuck231:You can still floor it. Just don't try it during rush hour. The problem with that road is the u-turns. Some mad folks don't know how to use them. Better stil if you want to brutalize your wheels, Sundays 9am till noon. You can redline your engine, no problem. My problem remains, tyres. I am damn scared of exploding tyres. I just don't trust them anymore. The quality of tyres have sunk. In my dad's days you will begin to notice wear after 3 years. These days, six months. |
tafiya: Yeah the 626 was super cool. 180, no problems..... till two tyres came off the rims from a razor sharp shoulder. |
170. Ogoja/Obubura highway (in the days when that road was relatively motorable). Rushing to Abakaliki for a meeting however lost two tyres at the infamous 'devils hill' and arrived four hours late for that meeting.....unfortunately. In contemporary times I regularly did 140 on 3rd mainland to my office every 5 am morning from my residence at Ikeja out of sheer frustration. These days age has instinctively restricted my speed to 120. The only place in Abuja you can do that or more is on the Airport road non rush hour. I will like to do more but I just don't trust tyres anymore no matter who makes them. |
Acidosis:People will only invest in what is profitable. That is low cost, high returns, moderate risk. Can you say that about the real sector right now.? There are serious reasons why folks are in government securities in the first place. If government will not shoot itself in its own feet, that is the safest place to be. |
Pistotita:Eh now, because inflation there is low. You give money to government for a year, collect it back with the so called yield and it cannot purchase what it could a year ago. If government was really investing in the articles to drive down the cost of living and cost of doing business then the long term prospects will be better but government remains the most wasteful and inefficient consumer of resources so poverty persists all round. |
VicThory:Good for government, bad for investors which ultimately is bad for government I suppose. |
Osagyefo98:How does building a secretariat move development all round. All it will do is sink an already stranded government purse by runaway cost of governance in staffing and operating such offices. I have always told folks like you that for Nigeria to move forward it has to be run like a business with purpose and profit in mind. It has to identify profit centres not cost centres and invest in them. It has to put its resources where it can add real value to society. As what a man spends his money on determines what his future will be also applies to government. A responsible government can spend the same amount he is spending on that office (yes it is an office block, no more) on income generating assets that will naturally pay for any administrative structures. Are there no enterprises in Nsukka that goverment can sponsor or are there no entrepreneurs in Nsukka that goverment can partner. This is how goverment affects the common man and generates income in a win win situation. But when Nigerians accept that job 'creation' means government employment then they should realise that taking the money of the many and giving it to the few isn't exactly development. |
They are very dangerous... punching above their weights in recent outings. We should be wary and down right serious. |
ArmaniUhuru:What is my business. Said enough. |
idesylvester:....Or can never prosper. Civil liverties and social justice is the foundation for any meaningful progress. And like I said in 2014 the best this government will achieve will be superficial. Time has vindicated that with 4 years gone to the dust. ....on this matter, what happens to me if I shoot my teachers... will it make my ignorance succeed. Can leadership exist in a vacuum. Does any single leader know it all.... Just fed up with this country abeg. Nigerians are not ready to exist thoughtless of living a reasonable, productive and prosperous life. |
And I am certain it was at the nightclub the deal was brokered. We call them social contracts. Such folks and such relationships never end well. Business and pleasure never mixes well anywhere in the world. No good deal can be conceived under the influence. |
Dekingmoses:Stop watching Nollywood. It runs down the human IQ faster than a night drive with a bad alternator. |
An architectural monstrosity... |
ikezuora4689:Na now una know. His Arsenal stay was not the best but his Everton sojourn is a disaster. Iwobi needs a league, a team and a manager ofthe highest quality to ultimately succeed. He should have left England for Spain or Holland. |
Increasing taxes here and there, foreign loans wily nily, yet infrastrucrure is in a worse state than ever.... |
mywells:Na now una know. I have not liked it in conception and hate it even more in execution. And it has done nothing to douse controversy. It will be ditched in a few years I predict. Football is and will never be a game of millimetres. It is pure art and art will always be subjective, full of flaws because beauty and the beautiful game will always be in the eyes of the beholder. |
Luis Enrique is not significantly better. The owners seem content with skirting about coaches who play almost the same 'Wengerish' pattern of possession soccer that is fast fading from prominence. And in bringing someone who doesn't have any experience coaxhing in the premiership it is just another gamble. |
That is why every woman should strive to be a person of value and for heavens sake tie into men of vision who have such a big picture that you will prove an invaluable asset in its actualization. Marraige is not only for procreation. Marraige is a multifaceted union such that the loss of one or two functions do not condemn it to failure. If it were in this case a delay will not bring about these terrible stresses. Unfortunately this lady married a hyper traditional man with very little vision, very little foresight and very little fortitude. Such folks will ultimately not achieve the kind of success the marraige institution can offer. You will be surprised that when she eventually delivers and perhaps it turns out to be a girl, the second phase of problems will arise. I know not everyone has the capacity to make the right choices of partners for marraige but everyone has a responsibility to ensure what he or she offers to the union is as broad based and as deep as possible so that a failure or delay in one function will not erode or destroy the union entirely. |
Nothing to say here. I don't know him. I am not one of his customers. I don't do social media. Mine starts and ends with Seunland. |
Well I can see this topic is a straight intra party fight between monarchists and republicans.... between those who feel Nigeria should be a feudal state and those who want popular power. None of my business. My views are well known about kings and kingdoms, and empires. The world largely started that way but today the desire of every man on earth is for liberty so Nigeria is obviously swimming against a certsin tide with devastating consequences. Today there is hardly a judiciary, a dead legislature and a dying VP, today the country is closer than ever to a monarchy. Let us see how it will all play out. I am certain how it will all end. Prince Oshiomhole.... continue your fight. None of my business. |
There is absolutely nothing wrong in Tinubu aspiring to high office afterall he is reponsible for sponsoring and enabling almost every single political office holder from western Nigeria into every federal office today. And there is some suspicion that he made a pact to this effect with the present VP before sponsoring his candidacy in 2014. What however is the challenge remains the fact that as in 2014 the muslim-muslim ticket is a controversial one moreso that since 2015 religious tensions have escalated making a muslim-muslim ticket weaker still and in an environment where a christian will have to step down for him under duress... I cannot see how it will work....then for Tinubu to get a northern christian as VP....will the predominantly muslim north accept that? My two cents is not the candidature of Tinubu himself but the other dynamics of the present VP and perhaps the proposed, future VP. |
Enyimbamercedes:Can't put it better. Just the truth we hate to admit. |
Said enough. Can't continue to waste my time trying to explain things to slow citizens. We will learn by trial. |
