Restructure the security architecture to enable grass roots policing, they will not. Change the personnel in charge of the security services to bring fresh impetus, they will not. The only time the security services are hailed is when they clamp down on law abiding civilians calling the government to order and this is obviously by a small group of fanatics who cannot refute the fact that the security problems facing Nigeria are much worse than any time before 2015. Everyone is fair game now. Nigeria is fast degenerating to becoming a wild life expedition where poachers slaughter st will and goverment's bark is as timid as that of an NGO. |
Auxtin85: The Bible says mourn with those who mourn. |
cosef:In that case I hope you don't get there. Empowerment my foot. |
danjumakolo:Nigerians are rather against a government that refuses to obey the law, that has no respect for institutions. It is Nigerians and Nigerian security forces that will bear the brunt of this folly when this thing escalates and goes south. I will share no condolences nor RIP's for anyone who cannot speak up now that it remains civil disobedience. Once it becomes an armed conflict you cannot put the genie back into the bottle. It is ths next administration and administrators that will suffer it. Remember Nigeria has no money to fight another war. We are in serious debt with no hope of serious investors to bail us out because amongst other things, the security situation. |
nototribalist:Hahahaha.... be like say VAR and INEC dey share the same server, here today, gone tomorrow.... hahahaha.... |
Hmmm.... Now this is becoming a bit serious....pally this is just a game, mbok. |
Iboni1:I learnt how to drive in a beetle. Then if you could master the stick shift you could drive anything non articulated. Mum had two to beat the odd and even number regime Lagos state instituted to check traffic congestion. The white one brought me home from Ikoyi school in the aftermath of the Murtala assasination. .... memories.... |
This is sad..... very sad....while the Porsche 911 made since 63 continues.... too bad. Why not sell the rights to other manufacturers. There will be dozens willing to keep this icon of the automotive world rolling... sad |
VAR is a disaster. It had done nothing to eradicate controversy from the game, but it has escalated it, dragged referees further down into disrepute and caused more fights and incendiary words against tournament organisers, FA's and regional soccer governing bodies. From the England Women Team to the recently concluded World Cup which berated the Camerounian ladies for crying foul at VAR only to castigate it themselves when they lost to the USA ladies team, to the almighty Lionel Messi who took only his second red after a boil off courtesy of a tempestuous VAR blighted tournament .... no one is satisfied, everyone is angry. The thing should be scrapped abeg. I never liked it for one day. I seriously shudder to think what kind of calamity it will bring to the EPL this summer, a league where every tenet of the soccer culture is brought to unprecedented scrutiny. |
enolife2:We have this culture of improving with every passing game. Observed this in Maroc 88 and confirmed it in the Westerhof team to Algers 90. Sometimes it works when the opponents enroute the cup are wacky but other times when our opponents are equally improving like the Cameroun team at Nigeria 2000 or just imperious like the Raber Madjer led Algerian 1990 team then it may prove a bridge too far. Anyway the best teams in this tournament are still ahead. Everyone of the last four teams will have merited their spots and any can lift the cup. |
promiseniqqa:Hahahaha....you're damn mean. |
maybachmusic:I still don't want him to leave Spain. It is too early and he is still learning. The good thing about Spain is the enormous gap between the big three and the rest of the league. It affords a young and upcoming player regular first team action in a smaller club but experience playing against some of the best players in the world. I mean if you have the opportunity to run against a tough Atletico defence or face a beastly Sergio Ramos then your confidence and competence will be built a lot faster than say playing in the Eredivisie or the Portugese Superliga. England is a definite no in my opinion. The fame and fortune is there but for middle aged (25 - 30 yrs) footballers in my opinion. Let him build first for a couple more years at Villareal if they stay up. |
Told you guys Sam Chukwueze was the next best thing in Nigerian football and now I can say if he is managed properly a potential multiple African footballer of the year winner. What he played today is nothing compared to some of his plays in Spain. The guy is very good. |
kaziblake:Algeria or Ivory Coast. |
Lovely one. Well done this government. |
The cleanup will begin in 2023. |
None of our business. They put him there and they will remove him. We always quake against godfatherism and root for democracy in its purest form. This is the why. Any stakeholder in Edo politicking who saw no evil in the selection of Obaseki should not bother us with cries about his de-selection. Our politicians are fond of pissing into their drinking gourds of proper institutional framework amd best practices. If you married from the club donot run to the church priest for redemtion rather ask the DJ to play you sweet melodies of sombre reflections.... |
Then a good number of men out there will have killed themselves many times over. Please wake him up and tell him to grow up. He knew pretty little about life. |
These are the folks degrading the morals of society, stoking the embers of sexuality to which her fellow women become victims down the line. In this unfortunate season of sexual assault we should consider all aspects of this menace both the cause and the effects. This is where the problems incubate. If you had a drug problem in society you not only go after the consumers but the suppliers of such drugs who profit from their trade. The lady in question obviously profits from this exposée so she should be held accountable for its damaging effects. It is that serious. |
Jinad50:Some just want to isolate the fact that a grown ass man can be found sleeping at home in the afternoon. Nothing to connect it wirh the infringment of his rights ro sanity. |
Ginaruby:Abi oh. He can join Elon Musk in his quest to relocate to a more serene planet Mars. Imagine a grown man sleeping in the afternoon...words fail me. |
utenwuson:Hmm... being a government worker automatically entitles you to a car ?.... Why not add house and yearly vacations to the Bahamas. You guys think you can isolate yourselves from the economy you help ruin every passing day. Continue dreaming. Don't wake up and and think out progressive ideas on how to prosper your constitiency and thereby increase tax receipts.Lazy lots. |

Totally disagree. That is merely escalating violence. Once again the cause is left alone and the effects treated. Capital punishment has not deterred armed robbers or kidnappers, it has only made them more violent and more.determined to clear out witnesses, so it will happen with rape. Rapists will be more willing to clear evidence and clean out victims. A more wholistic approach is needed to deal with the issue from all fronts. Together with the harshest prison sentences better enlightenment programs and education at all levels is required to de-sexualise society. Because wether we like it or not the various campaigns of perversion are currently winning the hearts and souls of men and women in this country presently. |
Ashiruhabeeb:Burn itself out fires are very few and are usually fires resulting from runaway chemical reactions. Sometimes when the burning building is structurally compromised they may stand back to restrategise on how to tackle the blaze remotely. But to watch a fire burn out in a supermarket containing general goods housed in a concrete strucrure is just careless. The first concern should be preventing the fire spreading which in a densely built area such as Wuse is a real threat. |
Big buildings with no access. Can't the owners of those buildings buy a truck of asphalt each to lay their frontages with the humongous rents they collect. |
Stillthebest:I was hoping for better quality opposition but 4 years down the line the PDP is patently incompetent as an opposition party hence the poor quality of governance we have seen these past years. Now that institutions have all been captured and the three legged stool of governance has coalesced into the Executive, this nation bears the characteristic instability of a unicycle, hence the intractable daily problems. There is no one left to give government any meaningful impetus. We are fully on autopilot and drifting like flight MH370. |
omoakin87:Oga, hope is reserved for God not man. Round the world all politicians are FORCED to do the hardest things.... and when they remain resolutely stubborn they are removed. It appears you have elevated the NNPC boss to some god like status. That is idolatry. Repent. |
How they will work is what we are interested in, not flipping pies in the sky. Hope is not a strategy. |
tete7000:Exactly. I shudder to think of a society traumatised by this savage blood letting. That is a viscious cycle of endless revenge loading if those perpetuators are not caught and brought to justice and I mean a justice that will enable the victims look their adversities in the eye before a judge and across a prison cage. That is the only way to bring closure and break the cycle. If not the victims today are bound to be and do much worse tomorrow. |
Daviddson:That is the standard of the world. Every single life matters. We on the other hand have devalued life to such an extent that our ears have gone deaf to anguish. If you were in the eye of the storm you will wish an AFP reporter was near by so that at the very least you will not be buried in an unmarked grave. We are the guilty. Failing to be compassionate. Failing to demand for justice and peace. We are gradually losing our humanity. |
We believe the TRUE and REAL muslims don't go about shouting ALLAHU AKBAR and go on killing spree. These are the wicked and evil ones being sponsored by evil politicians. The children of Shatan! Only fools and nonentities that their brains have been polluted by TRIBAL and RELIGION shenanigans by politicians since 1960 will say all muslims are murderers. We work with and have very good muslims around us here, as staff, colleagues, neighbors and every sphere of life. May all the evil murderers and their sponsor all die painfully.
Why not ask for social justice and equity and the rule of law that will bring about the kind of advancement and prosperity to nulify their ideology and cut off the ready supply of willing hands to their cause. For you it is just kill, kill, kill, die, die, die. What makes you fundamentally différent. This is what we ask for and have said continually. We need leadership that is pregnant with solution building ideas to our common problems not this one trick pony that continues down the same path that worses the situation everyday. The Trump administration for instance faces a far bigger terrorism challenge at home and abroad and yet with his first term almost up and his knack for brinksmanship has not instigated any new military conflict and no single life has been lost in America to terrorism, a first in a very long period. What he has done is to strengthen insitutions and given Americas securiry infrastructure a much needed sense of purpose. Thise are the serious, result oriented people we need leading a complex, disadvantaged society like ours. |
