Hmmm....this country is just funny. Can you imagine what the trader is saying. That there are more customs officers and checks in the south of Nigeria that there are in the north so he comes in through Adamawa. You will have expected that with an insurgency raging in those regions all the forces will be concentrated there to shut out intruders but no. They still have their greedy eyes on the south to keep their oil in and Cameroon seperatists out and from mingling with their Nigerian secessionist counterparts. |
OGHENAOGIE:That is history. Sports is about present form. Present form wins trophies except we are in Egypt for exhibition. And on the balance yesterday he wasn't fit for the first team. If he played on, the match will have been drawn at best and calculators will be out. |
Kingsley1000:That is no longer possible. The other match was a draw. |
luiscarter:Oga, don't mention IQ and money making in the same sentence. Anyone can make money. The fact that money is the ultimate ambition for most Nigerians including yourself should not he a yardstick to judge others. He was invited to camp not based on his bank balance and viewers did not tune in yestetday to see his financial assets but his sporting performance. That is the basis of this thread. And if you understand how short a sporting career is you will realise just how fleeting their so called wealth is. Top players do evetything to prolong their careers by performance simply because of what you seem to like and prefer.... money. Mikel knows this and that is why he has unretired from the national team quite a few times. |
Didn't watch the match live but seen the goal replay....and it looks more speculative than I expected. Try that 10 other times and that defender will intercept it. Good attempt though. |
They will never sit their arse down to read a book or learn a skill or do something productive. Just roaming about town victimising and being victims. |
PatrioticNaija:Probably the only functional runway and it will remain closed until the aircraft can he removed which is not an easy task in the mud. |
AgreatMan:Have you ever heard of aquaplaning before talking rubbish. |
YoungAncient1:Didn't watch the match. At work. As long as Sam Chukwjeze played well, I'm satisfied. With good mentoring, that guy is a future superstar. .. and I mean of Real Madrid/Barcelona proportions. Watch him often in Laliga.... exceptional talent. |
The US limo has decades of Secret Service experience behind its build. They are involved from the blueprints to destructive testing when they are retired. Its not a fad. |
sirfemoz:Oga it is dirty. Your standards are far too low please. Remember it is FOR THE PUBLIC some of whom are a single bacteria away from demise. Not everyone is Tarzan. |
The guy is made. He has become a hero and the face of the anti-establishment run by a corrupt dictator. |
Sickening. ![]() You can imagine the number of man-hours in the forge and furnace it takes to make a Professor out of a scholar. The millions of Naira invested in getting him sound education. The sacrifices his friends and family will have endured for years..... only to have one demon take it all away in a flash.... Just sickening... |
Without a virile multiparty democratic climate, without a stubborn and dogged opposition party snapping at the heels of the governing party stagnation should be expected at best. No meaningful development can occur. Decadence should be expected. Such is the fate of most south-south states gripped in the vice of a laid back and indolent PDP. The APC must be allowed to make in roads to shake up the tree of power so that the comfortable rats spoiling the fruits of democracy may fall free. Cross-Rivers' version of political extremism is out of this world. The citizens there are nigh politically comatosed. |
Hmmm.... death row inmates.... FIFA ordering stay of execution.... we can still appeal to be released from the tournament on compassionate grounds... ![]() |
Yet they say security is one of their biggest achievements. And their IG has declared that crime has fallen... |
One party state. No progress. Enjoy. |
Lazy things. Doing nothing to be of value to anyone. |
When we say restructure, they say no. That corruption is the only problem of Nigeria. Okay. |
It is like appointing six out of ten members of the board of the proposed Ministry of Livestock (not that Ministries have boards) from the South and only one member from the North West, the core region of Livestock production. Will they accept it. |
I agree totally. You cannot conquer an ideologically driven insurgency by force of arms alone. But the question is, why has the government not been proactive in creating another religious narrative to counter that of Boko Haram. It is clear that the hearts and minds game is been won by the insurgents presently amongst the citizens of that territory. Is it too much to ask for the government to put programs in place to spread counter islamic perspectives because all what you hear from government and northern elites is a denial of violent links to the religion directed not against the insurgents but against critics and spectators to this horrible tragedy. It is time to turn the burners low and de-escalate the situation, converting it from a military project to one of law enforcement and criminality. The government's primary target should be the people. They are the fuel that keeps the insurgency running. Educate them, empower them, de-radicalise them and the virus will begin to die. |
Minjim:See what I mean. People voted you in to change the status quo. You insist on continuing profligacy, excusing yourself in the process instead and hiding behind an administration you openly criticise, simply because the issue in question profits you. What do you call that nonsense. |
Earthquake3:That is how the APC and its fanatical fundamentalist supporters roll. They evade, twist, deflect and eventually con the public. Always comparing themselves to the worst, never best practices and deliverables for which they are elected. |
flokii:One step at a time. The standards they want to implement will cost a fortune to establish those faculties. One thing I know about that man Mr. Oyedepo, he is a master planner. Doesn't rush stuff. Does it when the time is right, but he sure delivers. I can imagine that in the future the whole country will be investing in his ideas..... and hopefully ideals. My dream will be to build a faculty there in future as my own contribution to education in this country. Very interesting grounds to sow. |
These are just public pleasantries expected from men of class and dignity. Just skin deep. They remain fierce adversaries and I hope it remains so and translates to good governance and virile democracy in Akwa Ibom. The state badly needs an alternative to the PDP that has governed since 1999. |
Tales of Godless relationships. |
Another sign that Nigeria is on the brink. When an empire begins to collapse on itself marauders make telling raids across its once formidable borders... today all manner of criminal gangs cross our borders to unleash mayhem at will. When the King of the Jungle, the pride of the lion pack begins to show its age, jackals and hyenas sit with it to feast. From South Africa, Eastern Africa and now Ghana, Nigerians are being trashed left, right and centre. It doesn't take a genius to determine that these things indicate a certain decline on the overall perception of this country. Nigeria is in terminal decline and like all great empires of antiquity, internal crises inevitably proves their undoing. I have said it for ages. The 'State of the Nation' an important benchmark all modern democracies take seriously is lost on a divided nation in Nigeria. It is so important in multi-ethnic countries such as the United States that the President is obliged by law to make an announcement stating where the nations strengths and weaknesses are/have been over the preceding 12 months. Nigerians and her leaders donot consider this important and to make concerted efforts to bring the peoples of this country together in a strong bond by equity, justice and the rule of law. This is the result. If Nigeria of today existed in the times of Alexander The Great, Othman Dan Fodio or Ghengis Khan, it would surely be a candidate for capture and its citizens sold into slavery on account of its divisions and internal weaknesses but when you look at what ISWAP is doing, what regional Fulani groupings are perpetuating within our borders and what our citizens abroad face, tell me if this is not akin to capitulation and modern day slavery. We are in big trouble in this country. This government owes its citizens a duty to take active steps to unite this country or forget about having one in time to come. |
Dee60:Our sin is ignorance as a people. We think democracy is electing or changing governments then sitting down to lounge. Such is akin to a farmer planting seeds then going to sleep for months expecting a bumper harvest. I suppose you are somewhere abroad so you can physically experience political activism in whatever country you are. How leadership is held accountable on the minutest of issues INCESSANTLY. Using the US as example, has Trump experienced even one day of rest since becoming President 3 years ago, that is despite the economy, security and institutions doing exceotionally well, the people are not satisfied. They want more, demand perfection. Here they will label you a renegade, a hater, so you keep quiet as our leaders expect while they fumble. I do admit that the democracy thing is still in its relative infancy so we should be circumspect about our expectation of government but you have to expect that the rapidity of change of any living thing is observed in its infancy. Adults rarely do, so the pressure to get a working democracy and reasonably good government is a logical expectation if Nigerians feel it is a worthwhile venture to fight for. Only the most fundamental fanatics of this administration will admit that it is doing well by any index of life and living. |
Tacit admittance of four wasted years. Tacit admittance that sharing stipends in markets and motorparks is a better political tool than an economic one. By the way I thought when you 'fight' corruption you get more prosperous not poorer. At least Peter Obi told you to your face. That you donot abandon your shop to go chasing after thieves, same thing I had been screaming since you were a candidate in 2014, tjat the level of productivity is far too low in Nigeria to sustain her population. That to fundamentally change Nigeria to 'developing' status from bssket case we need to restructure. In the meanwhile subsidising fuel, forex, higher education and other mass market factors is destroying our caoacity to be productive... and on and on. So Mister Veepee how has the chase of corruption been these past four years. Where is the recovered loot? Why hasn't it dented poverty.... You guys simply do not have ideas that can move this country forward. Just try and error governance. You recover Abacha loot, share stipends to the poor to 'chop' then collect same amount in interest bearing loans to build railway that creates jobs in China. How in this wonderful world can a leader with open eyes do this economic crime baffles me. The biggest expenditures ANY GOVERNMENT undertakes MUST, MUST, MUST be geared towards job creation. When countries spend on infrastructure the primary focus is to raise GDP, lower cost of business and create jobs. Whether it is the US bui ding aorcraft carriers or the UK building high speed rail. Infrastructure that cannot mobilise thousands of jobs is nonsense. It will only lead to capital flight and inflation. How many Nigerians are employed on the various rail building projects that such humongous amounts will be leaving Nigeria. If you cann8t tell, you simply cannot understand what a prosperous economy is all about. |
....because you are always looking down on people.....Thst is why God implores us to be contented with everything in Him. Somewhere along the line an ancestor of yours must have pestered Him about his inadequate height and like Abraham he was promised that his seed will be giants on the earth. So.... .....when life gives you vertical access....join one of the power distribution companies... ![]() |
NO FOOD FOR A LAZY MAN! Daniel Nwaru is a shame to manhood! Na dem dem wailers sef! Lazy mofos! A lizard in Nigeria cannot become an Alligator in America! This is one of the Lazy youths PMB talked about!
Indeed. Location is overrated. |
And the IG said crime is on the decline. Please can the supporters of this regime square this circle....bevause itt appears the IG is the first human to inhabit planet Mars.... or like someone said he says this because it is the military that is doing the policing while the police do security guard to 'big men', so the statistics coming to his attention is probably due to the inactivity of his men than achivements of any sort. |
