oluwasegun007:Of course they would not complain of the harassment until something unfortunate happens and they are accused of assault and they start to whine. Men who tolerate these kinds of behaviour are as guilty as the women who over sexualise society causing the peversion we see today. Stay on that flight long enough with 100 grown men around you and least a dozen will be imprinted and aroused and half will channel the dark energy ìnto aggressive assault and other destructive acts down the line. Men should learn to speak out more against the perversion some women bring to society to save themselves above all. Chase them out of your presence, out of your offices, your homes, your business premises, your churches, your kids school and everywhere they seek to do social damage. |
If 2 years that will mean he will be back at 35.... Argentina will have moved on by then....and I seriously think they should. Looking at how Brazil survived and thrived without Neymar should inspire them to build a team of younger hungrier players not merely rolling out a collection of expensive mercenaries. |
The basic problem is that Nigerians don't want to talk to Nigerians round a table. The owners of Nigeria don't want to negotiate because they don't want to give anything in exchange for what they want. They consider themselves as having much more to lose.... but all relatiinships that exist to mutually benefit the parties are established and maintained by constant negotiation. Everyday we negotiate. Husbands negotiate with their wives constantly to maintain peace, service providers negotiate with clients to establish values, manufacturers negotiate with customers to guarantee prosperity. Any relationship that is not maintained by constant communication is bound to deteriorate into angst, division, suspicion and at the extreme, viokence. It is a lack of negotiating skills that kill most marraiges today and is threatening the marraige of the different cultures and religions and creeds that form the nation Nigeria. The process of negotiation that creates justice and equity, that establishes universal values which will enable institutions to work and the nation to prosper is called restructuring. All nations have to constantly have a debate, formal or informal. People should demand from the other and be willing to give up for the other. I am watching Sky News right now. Brexit has been on the British agenda for the past 3 years. Back and forth debates are raging. At the end no one will get everything they want and no one will lose everything they own but because they continue to talk, no one is killing or getting killed. Where you have hardlined positions like in HongKong, violence is bound to happen. Why can't Nigerians sit down and negotiate they want we want to live in this country and the way we want to relate to one another. Why does one party need the superiority of the government to impose its desires on the rest of Nigeria. How long do they think that position will stand. If the herdsmen were wise they will sit down with their host communities and states and WORK THINGS OUT. If International Oil Companies were wise they would sit down with their host communities and WORK THINGS OUT. If militants and host communities and farmers and on and on were wise they will appreciate and exploit the values these so called foreign invaders bring. We need to sit down and restructure this country or there will be nothing left in the future. |
Mother this, don't mother that. As far as I'm concerned if you don't bring up your kids properly, you are fair game. I donot subscribe to being indecent in any sphere but I am a seriously strong advocate for parental responsibility. |
Telkart19:What was I telling you folks. That our problem is productivity and earnings. For this we need leaders that are visionary, smart and dynamic, with tons of ideas on how to get Nigeria workimg and earning. But no we preferred a leader with a left over 1983 sentiment of 'corruption is the only problem'. We can now see that blocking all the corruption will not make a man who earns ten thousand naira a month and feeds ten children wealthy. Unfortunately the priority of this government these next 3.99 years remains chasing rats while like Peter Obi and I have continually said and I quote, '...while the shop remains unattended to...' Let us face the truth for once. This government doesn't have the capacity to radically alter the fortunes of this country for the better. I cannot see the high capacity individuals being appointed into government. I cannot see the think-tank assemblage. I cannot see the lofty policy drives. It is just governance the way it has been done since independence. Unfortunately every night millions of family couples go to bed and copulate, hundreds of thousands of babies are born every month.....more mouths to feed, more lives to cater for...and no matter how well your wife manages your N50,000 salary it will not put your five children through college especially when you make more children every night. We are in big trouble. We need a government and new set of leaders that can point this country in the right direction. This present one is just not capable. |
bankylan:That is why Mikel should give it a rest. Let us look for legs on the ladder, players on their way up and not those in your history books. Nations Cup we want not biographies mbok. |
Hmmm....we are looking for every way to exit this tournament abi. I hope we will not push our luck too far. Mikel should give it a rest abeg. |
VAR is killing football. |
Well they earliet said the Legislature was on recess hence the failure to appoint ministers...so what is going on this time...anyway what is my business. |
Odinaka00:There is something you need to observe and understand here. South Africa football plays to the same pattern as the North African game characterised by quick passing, off the ball movement and torrid pace. This is how Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco have played since the eighties and it used to cause us immense problems until our players begun to update their skillset in europe starting from the late nineties and their dominance over us was halted. Nigeria plays the typical West African game similar to what Cameroun, Ghana, Ivory Coast and to some extent how Senegal plays, that is a slower, deliberate, ball holding and expansive game. In the eighties we could not match the techniques of faster play. That was the problem Egypt had yesterday. They tried in vain to slow the South African play but didn't have the skillset to do that so they lost. When you play the same technique as your opponent something must give. You either change it or depend on tactics. This is where their coach failed as their clubsides have been recently when they face South African clubs in CAF competitions. SA clubs are the only teams that give the North Africans a run for their miney on the continent so it is no surprise. Facing Nigeria will be another prospect entirely. Our technics are dissimilar so what will be the decider that day is clear. Whoever is able to play his pattern effectively to script will win. If that is not enough then the dugout will decide, that is whoever is the better gaffer, to play the right formations, to make the right and timely cha ges and all other tactics that matter in a match like that. One thing for sure, we will not play like Egypt and they find it tough to handle West African team play in tournaments. |
Arsenalholic:I have said it many, many times. He is the next biggest thing out of Nigerian soccer and his set up is just about right. Playing in a technical league against the biggest teams and players in Europe albeit for a relatively small club had not only created opportunity for him to develop but also the courage to face the challenges that come with it. I quite frankly wish he was an orphan so that he won't be under the kind of pressure typical Nigerian athletes are to bring in the bacon fast at the expense of their careers, professional competencies and longevity at the very top. I'm in two minds about his Nations Cup appreances so far. I want to see him unleash his immense talents by good playing time but I also appreciate that it can quite easily get to his head moreso in a den of vipers the national team can be. That guy is the real deal. Wish him the very best. |
Eliteklaus:I totally agree. Egypt was just terrible yesterday. One thing you don't expect from an Egyptian team playing at home is nerves. They couldn't even string three passes together. Very strange. |
The God I onow is unconcerned by all of this. The Jesus I know saw and endured worse than this. You cannot be a follower of Christ and be bothered by this. The raoe saga is a much worse offense towards God and man.... and even that is forgivable. |
The debate rages on..... |
North African teams falling like dominos... what's happening. |
This is one of the poorest Egyptian teams I have seen in a long while.....but....and a very big but... can we play as well as South Africa is doing presently. |
We need a better technical department. We should not be putting the team in this situation. Next challenge is Egypt. We will be playing against the hosts and unfortunately against CAF. |
property123:Who is Madagascar playing please. What is the point in resting your players only to play an extra tough opponent in the next round. Even if we go through today won't we be too exhausted by the time we face Egypt. I cannot understand the thinking behind that....am sorry. Performing teams are given the ease of the draw. That is why Madagascar will get Congo. You cannot compare Congo to Cameroun. We have a bigger history with Cameroun in the Nations Cup than any other country on the continent. They have taken 3 cups from us in finals in the last 30 years. They should be avoided this early. Yes, we need the gaffer to read games and bring victories but we need a technical director to read tournaments and enable us go as far as possible. |
I have been watching Nigerian teams actively since 1984 and one thing I know about all our teams, we get better in tournaments with each passing game. The NFF should know this even if the gaffer does not and our teams should be strategized to 'stay as long as possible in tournaments to build momentum'. If we know this we would not have taken that last group game for granted. We should have at least secured a draw, topped and met a less dangerous opponent in the round of 16. To have met Cameroun so early and potentially the hosts in the next round was a strategic blunder even the best footballing countries in the world will avoid. We need a better technical department headed by a competent technical director who understands the nature and culture of our football and the character of our teams. We cannot leave the gaffer to make all the strategic decisions as it affects tournament planning. We made a big mistake flunking that third group game. |
BLAME TIME: We can now see what resting our main players has caused. What were they rested for. In a tournament where you have a set number of games to win a trophy what are you resting players for. On the contrary you need to give your first team as many games as possible to gel. Once again, what are you resting players for after JUST TWO games. This is the result. |
It was coming. From now the rest of the match belongs to the bench, the gaffer specifically and unfortunately we donot have a quality one. |
When a group of people speak a common language it cannot be desctibed as foreign but culture. We all have a common heritage of corruption so how can people say corruption is a problem. Can ones culture be said to be a problem. Our problem simply cannot be corruption. Let us look for more important structural, fundamental issues besetting Nigeria abeg. |
This is what God saves you from when you know Him and involve Him in the most important decisions of your life. But most folks scorn at this eternal truth so we just watch them with utter amazement.... and deep pity. |
We procreate like rodents. Housing fundamentals remain eternally strong in Nigeria. Surest investment forever. |
Even bubonic plague if diluted in the worlds oceans cannot kill a fly. It is a matter of numbers. The point is about proportions. The fact that bad news is more prevalent is because there are far more people doing bad things. That is the worry....the numbers. In my small world of business and enterprise I have come across exceptional individuals with great talent, work ethic and rock solid integrity but why do I find myself overtly defensive, consistently wary and faithless....the numbers. |
Folks are here blaming her...then 30 million people are conned at the polls the same day to hope for a change in their fortunes and afyer 4 years of regression...yes you got it.... get conned again.... Of course fraud is a mental struggle between the cunny and the foolish but people donot only lose 50 thousand here and there but billions and trillions and some even their lives, liberties and unfortunately their sanity as well. |
What do these showpieces desire to achieve...I mean what is the thinking behind this tradition of criminal pagentry law enforcement agencies fall over themeselves to organise....not that the military is a law enforcement agency. |
Itvis now that APC fanatics see the folly of media complaints, excuses and buck passing thus acknowledging the wasted 4 years of the Buhari travels, travails and tours unlimited... Hmmm...time will always be a school headmaster. |
Can Mr. President find the time to do the business of state for which he was elected. |
Very soon even restructuring will be too costly to undertake. That ship is slowly sailing away. |
NLC should go and sit down. There is no money to pay that. The economy is in shambles. You don't give yourself a pay rise when your earnings are down. |
SLAP44:Did you ask him to do anything. Did you appoint him. He is busy attending to the folks who put him there....then whatever time he has left.... he may find to attend to you folks..... |
