mubi1:
Are the Fulani still a part of us?

The fierce criticisms and public outrage so far expressed against the proposed Ruga Settlement for the Fulani ethnic stock, especially the herders, eloquently explains the coordinated rejection and marginalization that the group has suffered over the years.

Unfortunately, for no fault of theirs, the Fulani people have become complete strangers in their own land, and are most times treated with crass contempt by other Nigerians. I am yet to see or read about any ethnic group in Nigeria that is as alienated, rejected, abused and raped as the Fulani people. Kindly prove me wrong.

While representatives of other ethnic nationalities daily mount the rostrum to demand for their portions of the national cake and other privileges, the Fulani people are never considered or factored into any of such arrangements. An average Fulani man hardly gets anything from the system. These people have no access to basic infrastructure like electricity, road, healthcare services, education, and even a recognised platform to champion their cause.

Sadly, the Fulani elite group has become complicit in the gang up against the Fulani nation. The privileged Fulani elite group is only interested in grabbing power and building personal empires without giving a hoot about the the pitiable plight of the vast majority of the downtrodden among them.

Also, the murderous acts of a few bad eggs among the fulani has further compounded their problems. But punishing or discriminating against an entire ethnic nationality over the sins of a few isn't a proper thing to do. If for nothing, let's consider the law-abiding and innocent ones who are clearly in the majority.

Beyond the hoopla that the Ruga Settlement plan has generated, Nigeria hasn't been fair to the Fulani ethnic nationality. Nigeria has tactically failed to integrate the Fulani nation into her fold. Nigeria belongs to all of us, and it is within our right to demand for inclusion and recognition. In all honesty, the Ruga Settlement plan isn't all that the nation owes the Fulani. We owe them love, empathy, integration and sympathy.

Peace-building Initiatives or arrangements such as the 13 percent oil derivation allocation for oil producing states, Niger Delta Development Commission, North East Development Commission, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, National Amnesty Programme and Presidential Initiative on the North East were birthed to address certain injustice or neglect.

For the sake of fairness, I think same approach should be adopted in addressing the plight of the Fulani people in Nigeria.

The Fulani people are our brothers and sisters. We cannot afford to leave them out in whatever we do as a nation, especially in the allocation of our resources for development purposes.
It boils down to sitting down to negotiate either as individuals, groups or the government on their behalf.

They are not the only ones out in the cold. Have you considered the peoples of the Niger-Delta for instance. Can you remember a time they demanded for exclusive rights to oil revenues exploited in their region. What happened. Dis.the rest of Nigeria give them.... no. Nigeria allowed no more than 13percent. What did you say about that. Did you not say, 'oh how will the rest of Nigeria survive'.

Can you remember what happened when the south-east, a major tribe comlained about marginalisation which has become more pronounced in this dispensation. What dis you say. Did you not say they deserve nothing because they did not vote this incumbent into power. As if parts of the north had nothing during the previous Jonathan regime.

The problem with Nigeria(ns) is the inability to think less selfishly and more visionary. Why not exchange one for the other. Why didn't tou exchange RUGA for better derivation...approve PIB for the south, give the east a fair deal in.this dispensation and in the scheme of Nigeria as a whole.

Why can't the core north be more liberal towards others and learn to respect others, share providence and integrate. Why doesn't it seek justice and equity if it expects to be courted. Why can't it NEGOTIATE for what it wants and give up even bits of its strongly held believes of dominion of the nationality of Nigeria.

What do you guys expect quite frankly.

They want a lot but are willing to give little.

One thing I've noticed so far: Those who are truly open minded about the whole issue, those who do not want to support either party until they get the full story, have decided to remain quiet either for fear of media backlash and possible accusations of their own, or simply because they do not want to get involved.

When we say restructuring is the only way to save Nigeria even those negatively affected disagree... I am not from the Delta but at least if 'they' want RUGA...couldn't they have given you PIB to balance up....that is restructuring.... peace by trade and barter. I am not from the East but since they want RUGA.... couldn't they permit you to sell booze in Kano is return.... that is restructuring, negotiating mutually acceptable principles, programs and values to ensure all tails are wagging.... not this loss/loss scenario for those who donot hold the keys to the Nigerian state.

Have refrained from commenting on this sick drama but my stand is clear for anyone to hear.

The world is evolving and it should not be beyond everyone to evolve with it.
The pastor should resign and face the law for his misdemeanours. He has offended not only the lady, his church but broken the laws of the State he is compelled to obey in line with the teachings of his faith.

However the crux of the matter is that conventional widom should tell us that it is time men and women begin to segregate themselves in all society. Women account for roughly half of the popukation of the world. They are beginning to gain significance in society with the equality movement, better education, enlightenment, opportunity, economic and political power.

In a nutshell women are beginning to 'take care' of themselves in all works of life and hence it is expected that gender conflicts are bound to escalate. If such relationships cannot be established on this earth on mutually agreeable grounds of tolerance and respect then both sexes should go their seperate ways.

I cannot for the life of me understand why a pastor will put himself in close proximity with a person of the opposite sex. I said it this morning to someone, I simply cannot have personal female staff, clients, customers or conduct any sort of relationship with the opposite sex in which I have to operate behind closed doors. The world is heading there.

Men will begin to attend to men alone. Women have the capacity to take care of themselves from the world of entertainment, sports, medical practices, legal services, whatever. If you are a man out there, you had better consider carefuly how you wish to handle your life, career and business choices because down the line your credibility and liberties could be at serious risk from the temptations and trials of the opposite sex in a world fast subjagating to tne forces of unhinged sexuality.

Many, many more men and women will fall before folks realise this important piece of advice.

That is what blind support gets you. You are now in a twist. And what you sowed is ready for harvest, when you simply cannot be objective and say a goat is a goat when the animal outside bleats. Now your immediate neighbour can see the folly of your ways and except you are a herdsman what else is your prospects in this country in the future.

Patriotism is speaking and acting in the interest of the country (in foreign contexts) and the nation (in relation with its entities), and not speaking and acting in the interest of one person no matter how highly placed but speaking in the interest of the average person with the objective of improving the overall system of governance.

That is why we advocate for restructuring which is simply a process, a roundtable discussion by all the constituent members of thus country about how we wish to exist and relate with one another, the values we can universally agree to and the path to development we should all subscribe to, to enable an equitable and just society where every citizen is pulling in the same direction towards progress, development and peace.

Not like what you support and subscribe to where Nigeria as it is today is totally divided into lanlord and tenant camps. As you continue to support the polarisation of the country and the actors that play that you will increasingly find yourself isolated, embarassed and derided. I advice you to be objective and begin to speak out against the wrongs you see happening. I guarantee you that you donot know these people to the inner most thoughts of their minds. You and I can only react to the deeds done which prove the thinking and intent in the first place.

Nigeria is being restructured as we speak, IN THEIR OWN IMAGE.

Let’s talk RUGA aka Fulani Cattle Colonies

The Buhari Administration has commenced construction of Cattle Colonies, rebranded “RUGA” in 36 States of Nigeria. The project has started in Kotongora, Niger State on a 31,000-hectare piece of land. The project will be initially replicated in 12 States with six (6) of such colonies to be constructed in each State.

What is RUGA aka Cattle Colony?

RUGA or Cattle Colony is a SETTLEMENT for Fulani Herdsmen, their families and cattle/livestock. It will contain ranches, grass or feed farms, abattoirs, dairy, meat and skin/leather processing plants, housing, religious houses, schools, roads, power and water supplies and the complete range of infrastructure required to support and sustain an ultra-modern local government area .

Okay, lets talk now

FACTS FIRST.

1. Taking a cue from the first RUGA in Kotongora in Niger State, the land size or landmass of each RUGA is at least 31,000 hectares of land or 310 SQUARE KILOMETERS. That is the size of an average Local Government Area (LGA) in many States in Nigeria. The average size of an LGA in the South East is 331 sqkms and in the South West, 574 sqkm. Lagos State has the least average LGA size at 179 sqKm, Imo State has average LGA size of 205sqkm, Akwa Ibom State – 229sqkm, Anambra 231sqkm and Osun State has average LGA size at 308 sqkm just to mention a few. At 310 sqkms in size, a RUGA or Fulani Cattle Colony is the size of a Local Government Area in Nigeria.

2. Buhari’s RUGA aka Fulani Herdsmen Cattle Colony is an exclusive settlement for Fulani Herders and their families.

3. Buhari’s RUGA program will establish six (6) such exclusive Fulani settlements in each of the thirty-six (36) States in Nigeria. In the result, at completion of the program there will be two hundred and sixteen (216) new exclusive Fulani Local Government Areas in Nigeria.

4. Nigeria has seven hundred and seventy-four (774) LGAs decreed in the Military Decree falsely called Nigerian Constitution 1999. Nigeria is ruled by Military Decree imposed by force of arms. Nigeria has had no agreed Constitution made by the people since the Military abrogated the Independence Constitution. Let’s leave the Constitution fraud for another day.

5. The current population of Nigeria is about two hundred million, eight hundred and twenty-eight thousand and eight hundred and twenty-four (200,828,824) people as at 26 June 2019. Given the fact in “4” above, the average population of a Local Government Area in Nigeria is roughly two hundred and sixty thousand (260,000) people.

6. Given the facts in “3” and “5” above, Buhari’s RUGA program on completion is projected to increase the Fulani population in Nigeria by FIFTY-SIX MILLION, ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY THOUSAND (56,160,000) Fulanis. There about Thirteen Million (13,000,000) Fulanis in Nigeria presently which is 6.3% of Nigeria’s population according to CIA Factbook on Nigeria. In effect, Buhari’s RUGA program on completion will see Nigeria with a projected total Fulani Population of SIXTY-NINE MILLION, ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY THOUSAND (69,160,000), 4.32-fold increase in population.

7. The implication of “7” above is that at the completion of Buhari’s RUGA program, the Fulani will have arguably become the most populous nationality in Nigeria (in todays population figure terms) having outgrown the Hausa (25.1% or about 50.4 Million), the Yoruba (21% or about 42.2 Million) and the Igbo (18% or about 32.2 Million). In one fell swoop the Fulani becomes the majority nationality in Nigeria. The Tripod balance in Nigeria becomes quad-legged.

8. It is fact that Buhari has himself stated that Fulani Herdsmen Terrorists who are engaged in massacres and pillage in Nigeria are not Nigerian citizens. In other words, the Fulani herders are alien non-Nigerians. Governor El Rufai of Kaduna State has also said about the same. Several powerful sources in Nigeria have repeatedly confirmed that the Fulani herders causing mayhem in Nigeria are aliens from across West and Central Africa. Nigerians are generally agreed that the Fulani herders and terrorists engaged in land grab and terrorist activities in Nigeria are non-Nigerians from West and Central Africa.

9. It is also fact that the advent of Buhari’s RUGA program or Fulani Herdsmen Cattle Colony program was preceded by increased Fulani Herdsmen Terrorist activity and land grab in the Middle Belt and elsewhere in Nigeria. It was also preceded by militant advocacy by Miyetti Allah for grazing routes and grazing reserves to be established in the Middle Belt and Southern States of Nigeria in particular. Without doubt, Buhari has himself pronounced the fact that his RUGA or Fulani Cattle Colony program is meant to resettle the Fulani Herdsmen and satisfy the demands of Miyetti Allah!

10. Nearly all States from the Middle Belt to Southern Nigeria vehemently rejected the Buhari Fulani Cattle Colony program and refused to allocate land in their states as demanded by Buhari. Notwithstanding that rejection of the Cattle Colony Program, Buhari opted to rebrand the program as RUGA and to instead, to use existing Federal Government owned land in the States.

11. It is also a fact that in addition to FGN owned land in the States, Buhari has sponsored an Executive Bill in the National Assembly to enable the FGN to acquire all rivers and their river- banks in Nigeria. Nigerians view Buhari’s Rivers/River-bank acquisition Bill as a consistent and integral part of his RUGA/Fulani Cattle Colony land grab.

Implications of the facts of RUGA/Fulani Cattle Colonies program.

The first and immediate question arising from Buhari’s RUGA/Fulani Cattle Colony program is why, by what justification, and on the basis of which law of Nigeria would Buhari undertake such massive immigration and resettlement of foreigners (West and Central African Fulanis) in Nigeria and on indigenous Nigerian lands. Certainly neither Nigerian Immigration law nor ECOWAS laws permit non citizens to enter Nigeria without passports. Why would Buhari pursue such a most expensive massive immigration program to import and resettle more than 59 million foreigners on Nigerian lands at a time Nigeria I already over-populated and searching for effective means of population control?

When the World’s most powerful country, USA is building a wall on its Mexican border to stop a flow of only a few hundred thousand refugees, Buhari does the opposite by throwing Nigerian Northern borders open and using Nigerian tax payers funds to invite and fund more than 59 million foreign Fulani for resettlement on indigenous lands at a time Nigerians are in hunger, penury and hunger.

There is no refugee problem or war in West and Central Africa that could be said to instigate such massive immigration of African Fulanis to Nigeria. Even so, refugees are usually provided temporary shelter in camps, not permanent settlement and such refugee programs are at the costs of the United Nations .

These Buhari foreign Fulanis are not refugees. These foreign Fulanis are in Nigeria in contravention of Nigerian Immigration Laws. So why is Buhari seeking to forcefully legitimise and resettle illegal immigrants on indigenous lands of Nigerians?
Why do these Buhari foreign Fulanis carry AK47 and other military grade weapons freely and openly across the borders of Nigeria and all over the States of Nigeria.

Even so, why have Nigerian Army, Police and Security Services failed and or refused to enforce Nigerian gun laws against these Fulanis? The Fulani Herdsmen Terrorists, Bandits/Kidnappers are known to have been engaged in terrorist activity all over Nigeria and continue to do so.

Why is Buhari rewarding terrorists and criminals with resettlement on Nigerian indigenous lands? Why would government reward terrorists rather than prosecute them? Above all why would terrorists be resettled on the lands of other indigenous nations of Nigeria? Why is Buhari bent of introducing whole 6 new Local Government Areas full of terrorists in States of other indigenous nations of Nigeria? Why would any state or nation accept such terrorist communities of foreign hostile citizens?

The nationality question

Nigerian nations have boiling unresolved nationality questions. It is not only provocation of the most insensitive and inhumane nature for Buhari to seek to introduce exclusive Fulani LGAs into native lands of other indigenous nations of Nigeria. RUGA/Fulani Cattle Colony introduces and creates 6 new exclusive Fulani LGAs in every State of Nigeria.

By implication indigenous Nigerian Nations are compelled by Federal Presidential power to have the Fulani who are alien to their lands to inherit and permanently retain part of their indigenous land as Fulani homeland. Imagine 30 Fulani LGAs planted strategically all over the South East, or 36 of such LGAs scattered strategically all over Yorubaland or in the Middle Belt and South South?

Would Buhari create exclusive Igbo or Yoruba or Ijaw or Idoma or Efik or Ibibio or Urobo or Tiv LGAs in Sokoto, Kano, Zamfara etc? If not why would Buhari pursue RUGA/Fulani Cattle Colonies program against the objections of States of the Middlebelt and Southern Nigeria?

Discrimination comparable only to Apartheid

The Fulani Exclusiveness of RUGA and the use of Federal Funds to build whole new ultra-modern LGAs with facilities not available to the other LGAs of the natives or indigenous Nigerians is nothing short of APARTHEID! Apartheid is impermissible and unacceptable in Nigeria.

Religious, way of lif, governance and socio political implications

RUGA/Cattle Colony is an LGA. With the herdsmen come their families and the full facilities of human settlements. Being exclusively Fulani, therefore the LGA becomes exclusively Moslem.

The LGA must come with Mosques for worship. With the LGA being exclusively Islamic, comes Sharia Courts and Sharia Law, along with Sharia police within the LGA in order to meet the religious and way of life needs of the settlers.

With it comes the need for Emirs or District heads. In one fell swoop suddenly each State in the South East, South South, South West, Middle Belt and other Christian and animist nations, must necessarily legitimise Sharia Law given 6 Sharia LGAs in their States. Inevitably Sharia Law must then be declared and recognised in all States of Nigeria. And boom, Nigeria has become a Sharia country!

Along with Sharia law becoming operational in all States of Nigeria follows Emirates being declared in those States and then demands for more Sharia LGAs and more land and then claims of right to govern the States and so on and so forth!

Legitimate Fulani rights innevitably arise to demand that each State of Nigeria make provisions to accommodate their language whether Fulfude or Hausa in the State Schools and public media broadcasts. The demand for both Sharia Law and dual language in each State of Nigeria would be perfectly legitimate. Why not?

A new ethnic group in Imo State for instance that has 6 LGAs as its homeland plus the original 27 LGAs, would certainly be entitled to have their own language accommodated in Imo Schools and public broadcasts. They will be entitled to vote and be voted for. They will be entitled to have their Sharia Courts and facilities must be dualized to accommodate them and their different way of life. Why not? Are they not also Imolites? After all they have 6 LGA homelands in Imo State. The same must unavoidably happen in all other States in Nigeria where RUGA is implemented, except in Northern States that are totally Sharia Statess.

Their Emirs must seat in the Imo House of Chiefs or traditional rulers and when it becomes one of their turns, an Emir will become the Head of the Imo Council of Ezes! Same must inevitably happen in all relevant States in Nigeria.

In effect, every State in Nigeria suddenly must as a legitimate necessity double up language, culture, judiciary, governance, traditional leadership and all aspects of their lives with the Fulani.

This must be what former President Obasanjo foresaw and accurately described as Fulanisation and Islamisation of Nigeria.

Will Buhari create Igbo and Yoruba Customary Law Courts in Sokoto, Kano, Katsina and in all Northern Moslem States of Nigeria? If not, why not?

Will Buhari also set up a RUGA for the Igbo, Yoruba, Ijaw, Idoma and all other tribes of Nigeria so that Nigeria can be “Igbonised”, “Yorubanised”, “Ijawnised”, “Idomanised”, “Tivinised”, “Ibibionised”, “Edonised”, “Igbiranised”, “efikinised”, “urobonised” and “all kind of nized” with all etnic groups in Nigeria and Christianised and ” animistinized” ?

RUGA/Fulani Herdsmen Cattle Colony is outright declaration of Jihad! It won’t work without declaration of war against the indigenous nations of Nigeria and defeating them in a war of conquest!

In RUGA/Fulani Herdsmen Cattle Colonies, his Rivers & Riverbanks Bill and support for and protection of Fulani Herdsmen Terrorists plus romance and collaboration with Miyetti Allah, Buhari is directly and indirectly making and levying war against Nigeria .

RUGA/Fulani Herdsmen Cattle Colony program is the largest illegal migration in human history in terms of its size. It is unprecedented. It is also the greatest Jihad by stealth being executed through abuse and misuse of Presidential power and privillage to not only attempt to permanently enforce Fulani Caliphate colonisation of Nigeria, but also carry out eventual fulanisation and islamisation of Nigeria without open declaration of war against the indigenous nations of Nigeria.

Every indigenous Nigerian has a duty to resist this Buhari Jihad. Any indigenous nation that accepts RUGA is already on their way to extinction from the face of the earth before they realise it. Ask the Housa Kingdoms of the North or the nations of the Middle Belt that have had to live a life of endless wars of self preservation against the Fulani Caliphate perpertual Jihad.

Nnamdi Elekwachi
When we said restructure, you said no. That corruption is the problem. Okay. Then we said that a time will come when it will be impossible to reverse the damage to the fabric of Nigeria, you said no. That jailing looters would prosper Nigeria.

While men slept on this distractive dream of desperation, the owners of Nigeria went about the very thing the tenants slept on and have begun to restructure Nigeria in THEIR OWN IMAGE...with the FULL CONSENT OF those that sleep. Having used 'the corruption war stories' to distract, deflect and defeat the best of their opponents leaving only thise who cannot resist.

How come when it comes to anything about the power equation in Nigeria the owners are quick to clamp down on proposals that will empower those south of the Niger. It is on record that the north was first to establiah laws in their lands to protect the exclusiveness of religion to govern state. Kano state was the first to establish a defacto police force while they resist same in other parts of the country, now they are being given territories to occupy in other climes by fiat, will not integrate into the cultures and religions of their hosts and in time will become independent socio-political entities with wide ranging powers to vote and govern and as I told someone yesterday they are bound to claim Federal status making them immune to state laws in the future.

Think about these things. These guys are restructuring Nigeria.... unfortunately without negotiation and without consent and approval of all Nigerians. We can see why they want the Judiciary and the Legislature intact. The window to balance the power equation in Nigeria may have already closed.

I just pity the rest of this country.

When asked a few days ago about restructuring in the United States, Mr Veepee yet again stated that political restructuring was not the problem of Nigeria but theequitable sharing of 'resources'. When you carve out 31,000 hectres of land make it a territory exclusively for a demographic entity then what can be more political than that. Is that not changing the structure of Nigeria...permanently....is 31,000 hectres not big enough to elicit debate and discussion at both state and national legislature....

I can go on and on but my leave is here, back in Abuja and I don't intend to waste it discussing this hapless country.

Talk about that low-grade mentality evident in most Nigerians - in many of us castigating him today.
Short term thinking. Don't worry he will care in the future when time has passed, money has finished and those he seeks to please have either passed away or have realised the folly of what he didfor them years before.

I gave an example of Prof Humphery Nwosu. Will money matter to him today. Where is th money he gained then. The person he sought to please then is today barely relevant and on his way out of life. Can he run to the constituency, the military he perpetuated in power then? Was he not a few days ago pleading for the rewriting of history from those he offended in his favour.

That is what the black man lacks.... vision, a comittmemt to legacy, understanding his place and position in history. He cannot understand that a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years is like a day. That changes could happen in an instant, that standards could improve overnight, that what he calls performance today could be derided as disastrous tomorrow.

Give Humprey Nwosu another chance and he would do things completely different knowing what he knows today. At the keast he would have resigned and run away to save himself and his generation the recorded infamy. But they say hindsight is 20/20 and for the Nigerian it is complete blindness to the basic facts of life.

The one in my house is NOTHING TO WRITE HOME ABOUT EITHER...
There's nothing like staying in the same house with your birth mom!
NOTHING LIKE IT!!!
To those of you that your parents still stays together, you have no idea how lucky your are...!!!
That is why God in His wisdom lays out only one condition for tolerable divorce and even leaves man the window of opportunity to forgive and remain together. That is why God in His wisdom asks us to consult Him when taking the most imporyant decisions of life. That is why God implores us to love, be peaceable, considerate, long suffering and wise, all key elements to successful marraiges but most have no regards for God nor consider His advice worthwhile. This is the result.

I hope the soul of the boy will heal even when the scar certainly won't and I hope him, lime you will grow to correct the wrongs of your parents and make better choices, better lives of yourselves by turning and depending on God to make this complex life we ive so much easier and more result oriented and successful.

Their end will never be well.
They will bury their children as long as killings of innocent Nigerians means nothing to them.
This will be their portion, no matter the political parties they are in.
Along with anyone that are happy with all the killings all over the nation.[/quote]Let me tell you something.

Nigeria is like a a couple who quarrel all day and retire to bed. They are bound to forget to lock tje doors. They are bound to forget to turn off the gas. They are bound to put themselves in harrms way. Nigeria is presently at war with its constituents. Tjis country is more divided than ever before. There is no justice or equity anywhere. Hostility is rife. The state of the nation is weaker than ever before yet those on authority and their supporters like youself think they can just soldier on successfully.....

If you understand the term strength in unity. If you understand how fragile silk can be woven into bullet proof apparel then you will understand how important it is to unite the peoples of this country in ONE IDEOLOGY to make any meaningful progress but since you guys insist in dividing Nigeria along ethno-political lines, supporting nepotism, degrading and seeking to destroy the safeties of real multi-party democracy.... then how can you exoect oeace and anything to work well.

It is the cracks in the walls that permit rodents in. And the wider the cracks the bigger and the more dangerous the animals that will seek prey. Enjoy your country.

If the government wants to turn the economy around and set it on a path of sustainable growth these 3 things it should immediately do:

1. It needs to engineer a culture of independence amongst it political cost centres. That is the Federating states. It needs to wean them off 'allocations' - geo-political subsidies. States should be given IGR targets and the Federal government involved only in couterpart funding of investments. It will encourage them to right size their bloated civil services.

2. It needs to engineer a culture of productivity by ensuring its biggest bills directly relate to getting the largest number of Nigerians working and making stuff. If they will spend 3 trillion on petroleum subsidies that amount should be able to create no less than 1 million direct and indirect jobs a year. So instead of spending all that on trading split it in half and partner with Nigerian investors who wish to build refineries with job guarantees to follow.

3. Make concerted efforts to end the building of infrastructure by contracting. Encourage the establishment and expansion of industrial concerns to produce the basic material elements required and execute the works by direct labour through Engineering Consultancies. This will drastically cut down the cost of these works while creating a lot of jobs and enabling greater intekkectual capacity.

Government cannot build new refinereis...because of the matter of subsidy.

Subsidy works this way. I import fuel at N200 per liter, and sell at N145 per liter to marketers, while government pays the N65 balance. Meaning I cannot make a profit (this is what NNPC has been doing for the last 4 years. Before it was marketers).

Plus, as the price of imported fuel keeps on going up,,,,,so also the cost of the subsidy of fuel per liter.

Building a refinery would be basically like building a big loss making machine. NNPC would build a refinery, and then be refinig fuel at N165 and selling it at N145 to marketers. Meaning NNPC cannot make a profit...meaning it won;t be able to maintain refienreis or build new ones adequately...which leads to job and investment losses.

Or let me explain it to you more simpler..

I am selling shirts. I buy my shirts at N5000 and plan to sell at N6000. Government steps in and forces me to sell at N3000 , while they pay me N2000 as subsidy. The shirts are made in Nigeria, but because of rising labor costs in making the shirts....the cost then goes up to N7000, and government pays me N4000. Next year, shirts go up to N8000...and the subsidy costs increase...and I am not making a profit at all...and the shirt manufacturer is losing money and has to cut jobs because I cannot pay her, or pay workers.

The best incentive you can give to any investor is to allow him or her make a profit. If you cannot allow a profit to be made...things would get harder.

We spend 1.5 trillion on subsidy by the way. Yearly...money that could have been used for other things. And NNPC is not making a profit.
Oga, you are just wasting your time on empty headed Nigerians and their clueless government. One thing for sure. If a man cannot learn in the classroom he will learn in the workshop. If he cannot understand theory, he will understand by consequential practicality. Of necessity Nigerians will learn tne HARD WAY how an economy can be made to work and how an economy can catastrophically fail. With time they will learn how to run government, how to demand for right moves.

In the interim you will shout yourself hoarse. The World Bank has warned. The IMF has warned, the United States has warned, the European Union has warned. It appears only this government and its Chinese collaborators know something the rest of the world doesn't...hmmm

The jumbo salaries and allowances of the Assembly men both at National and State levels should be slashed by 50%.How can a Senator earn 35m per month? What is his level of input to the economy. Nigeria is not serious to move forward as a Nation.
Oga, stop being ignorant. How much is the budget of the entire National Assembly. Reduce it to zero and it still will not prosper Nigeria. Stop falling for cheap, herd mentalism based on speculative basement propaganda and do the simple arithmentic.

Our problem is that of productivity. We are not making enough money as a country to sustain ourselves in the kind of lifestyle we expect to have based on the crude oil propaganda. Lifestyle means cheap oil, free education, cheap imported goods, cheap electricity and other stuff that makes a typical humanoid lazy and unproductive. We produce scant little of what we consume BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT SUBSIDISES THE DOLLAR making production of stuff worthless in Nigeria.

We have no jobs because the emergency job switch foreign governments use to stimulate their economies, investing in infrastructure is not a job creator in Nigeria because we import everything we use to build infrastructure and we then give out so called infrastructure contracts not to Nigerians without jobs but to multinationals catalysing capital flight. I call it the 'Julius Berger phenomenon.

These are the issues serious governments should look at. How to get Nigerians working, making stuff, building stuff, researching stuff, cultivating stuff.

He spoke the truth by advising Buhari to quit subsidy on petroleum product and electricity in order for the country not to be bankruptcy..

But this decision will be very difficult to make by any ruling party due to suffering of Nigerians and it'll also be politicize by opposition parties.
They had a significant chance to remove subsidies on the dollar, petroleum and electrcity when political capital was high in April 2015, when the citizens were caught up in the hype and propaganda to notice and resist and boy did we shout ourselves hoarse back then but they couldn't because the APC had its shoelaces in a twist by ealier on its life berating the propsals by the GEJ government to bell the cat.

If they were wise they could have let GEJ do it, take the flak and get booted out as desert, then tje APC could have taken the glory for the gains which would have been evident by now. But the ghost of their scaremongering will not allow them to take even the faintest of steps towards restructuring government finances.

Then you have Almighty President Buhari and the albatross of his tunnel vision held since 1985 that corruption is all the problem Nigeria has. This will be his greatest undoing, his inability to broaden his perspective to grasp far deeper and more detailed structural problems Nigeria faces. So the government is in denial.

Even the cerebral Veepee is swept away in denial telling folks in the US that security challenges are exerggerated courtesy of social media and Nigeria doesn't need structural reflection.... his idea.....hear his unbelievable statement, that Nigeria's poverty results from challenges of resource distribution. Can you imagine this....

Just when we thought the ghost of Gowon's infamous, '...our problem is how to spend it....' was dead and buried, 50 years later a head of government is still saying this.... and we expect Nigeria to get better with this mentality....
Politics › Re: Nigeria On The Verge Of Bankruptcy - Emir Sanusi by Reference(m): 7:29pm On Jun 25, 2019
But they said that corruption was the biggest problem facing Nigeria and were voted in to fight it. So what is the complaint. Has the fall in stealing not been enough to prosper Nigeria?

Once again back to the Vice-Presidential debate of a year ago....Mr Veepee declared that he preferred to leave his business and sleep in the police station because his shop was burgled. That is the summary of this government and that is what is expected this next 4 years. No work, scant productivity and a shop closed for business while they chase rats.

Enjoy. When the bank comes for repayment of the loans taken to stock the shop, declare 'force majeur' that your shop was burgled and they will let you free abi?

Ignorant people, dishonest government.

I have to agree based on one simple fact....the responses here...predominantly negative and I know one thing for sure. In spiritual things majority doesn't and has never carried the vote. The views of the many are almost, always wrong.

Now to the topic, indeed I cannot see the spiritual value or significance in any one of those apparel, poses or appearances. And if they hold no value to God whatsoever, what is the point. Those who indulge in such should be factual about what their intents are. What the reasons are for what they wear and how they conduct themselves. Most likely will not pass muster for the basic principles pf God and godly living.

The numbers they're quoting about Nigerians living on less than a dollar a day is highly bogus.

A dollar is worth about N364 on the black market. Families living below that cannot afford medical treatments, drugs and even nutritious food.

So where are these emaciated, frail, ailing, quivering mass of starving wretches falling down and dying in their millions everyday?
Go to rural areas you will see them...aplenty. Tunnel vision is bad judgement.
