dancewith:Don't know why you cannot understand what is in plain sight. They are pretty candid about this. Your people overwhelmingly donot return. They have a working immigration system with local and foreign agents who track these things and the dishonesty is glaring. Most Nigerians lie about their intent so they have a duty to protect their country. Let me ask you. With the way foreigners flood Nigeria from Niger, Chad and Mali some bearing arms and some perpetuating crimes, don't you wish we had a proactive border control and immigration system and don't you fear Nigeria will be irreparably damaged if this illegal immigration continues unchecked. That is how they feel. As for the cost of visas, that is deliberate to discourage applications in the long term. Make it a costly system and people will think thrice about repeating the process. Their message is loud and clear. They want to slow down entry and illegal migration which costs them and their economy more than the visa fees could ever mitigate. Every country has a right to its immigration policy. Not every country is as loose and careless with its demography like Nigeria. |
FarahAideed:Serious nonsense. They should further make the process even more difficult. Everyone should sit down and fix his or her country. You want world class or American class education, make it happen here. Do it if in power or be an activist for it if without power. America is not what it is today by people fleeing it, but staying and fighting for a better society. If every man on earth flees their country into America then we have a one country earth because every man on earth has one challenge or the other. |
Daviddson:Please, please, just hold it. Who holds the government or government officials to account when they lie about national issues and promote hate sppech by their utterances and actions. In sane societies you lie you are sacked or resign voluntarily to protect the integrity of the system. They lied and denied about the last horrendous Boko Haram attacks. Who brought out the truths, the same social media filled with so called 'hate speakers'. The incessant haranguing of social media led Mr. Preaident to visit and finally led the same COAS to admit they had not received the famous special intervention fund. Now tell me if all this had not been revealed, what will have happened. Look man you better watch what you wish for. You simply cannot make progress with a closed, 'unaccountable' society. The very people who are locked up are the very people keeping this government on its toes and goading them towards an unexpected success. In life without a critique there can never be a mastery. Great leadership the world over is forged on the anvil of torrid stresses. Read about them. Nothing of worth can be achieved in a power vacuum. Every achievment this government has managed since 2915 has been at the bequest and as a direct result of the harsh criticism it has received. Every failure has been concocted in secret. Check it out if you are a honest, impartial observer. That is how democracy works. Silence all criticism and failure is assured because success is hard. They have a choice. |
abiodunalasa:That is normal. It is called opposition. When you lose power, you hold power to account. It will happen to the APC group when they eventually lose power. Seems you are not to familiar with this democracy thing. Go study. That is how democracy works. You expect folks to lose power and just go home and sleep. Wake up man. |
Just wonder for how long Porsche can keep up with the 911. Surely their sales will inevitably decline with the loss of their aging customer base. |
I think the designers at Honda are completely exhausted and out of ideas. Looks rather dour and the colour.... a necessary distraction. |
mctfopt:...hmmm, 'fossil power' indeed but oil and gas will remain a staple for a while to come. Still accounts for the bulk of all electricity generation globally and when all cars go electric expect more 'fossil power' plants to be built...in the medium term. |
HarkymTheOracle:No sir. Some Scandinavians bear what you may consider very African sounding names. Nothing to do with this part of the world. |

Yeah, his form has noticably dipped. Age has finally caught up despite his style of play. But once again, the teams around him has badly affected his form. It has proven impossible to recreate the Barcelona play of the Xavi and Iniesta years despite the heavy investments and as for the Argentine national team....they seem to just go from bad to worse with each tournament. |
Nothing new to me. Said I wanted him as Veep. Got him. Nigeria is in for some serious governance if he gets in. |
sweetrace:Okay, okay, calm down. The man is dead wrong. But do you have a word for the woman.... because I guess the man wasn't fighting himself. This is my season of responsible living among the sexes and my focus this month is on women. What is the lady's responsibility in this case. |
sweetrace:So you admit there is nothing like gender equality.... I didn't say so, you did by default. |
EagleScribes:I don't regard that word 'ethnicity' in the context of what happens in Nigeria. It is just too tame. This country is full of racists in the real sense of it. There is more discrimination, deaths and destruction in this country than in all of the western world put together on an annualised basis. How does one explain that. It is ingrained in our collective psyche and institutionalised in our society. Africa is much worse. Nigeria is a hotbed of racial upheavals. That is how I see it. |
Failure everywhere. Lives being wasted needlessly in the interim.... |
The Premiership is very competitive. Every week has a table changing fixture. Congrats to the Gunners. |
This is what we want. A platform for the sharing of ideas. Nigeria can only be better for this. Bit busy right now. We'll see as things develop. Good one. |
Not too sure about this. Don't know of any tech sec where China leads. They are good at volume reproductions but cutting edge?....And I don't think Android will remain static over this period either but in tech.... you just never know. |
You don't want them in court yet your position is rigid concerning their complaints while at the same time flying the false flag of reconciliation. How do you square this circle. Africans and toddler mentality. |
Good one. Sexual deviance should be punished. You cannot pevert society and go free. When the consequences of their actions on society manifests, it is them that will be the first victims and they will be crying to the same authorities to save them from rape and molestation. It all starts somewhere. Behave and society will protect. Abuse is a two way street. You cannot continue to assault the decency and sensibilities of others and expect respect. Your dressing has an effect. A mental effect of which there are actionable consequences. Say no to sexual perversion ravaging society. Women must take responsibility too. |
islandmoon:Not quite what we think of as a public servant. He comes across as someone who wants out of that system. His persona is more akin to that of CEO. |
Koval12:I agree. He's been very dynamic. Virtually shut out government from stealing the headlines around our football which has been abig problem for years. I can see Nigerian football becoming an independent commercial entity on this trajectory in no distant future. Kudos to him. |
...the railway line that leads from nowhere to somewhere. How this line is a priority over others beats me. Just cannot understand. |
Olalan:But we celebrate them all over town and splash their 'wealth' all over the media for their 'fans' to get inspired. 'Warri based billionaire'.... 'Lagos based big boy'.... 'Malaysia based jetsetter'.... No one asks what they do for a living and what impact positive or negative their activities have on the society they 'inspire' thoughtless of the locations where they live and operate. This is the result. |
if you subscribe to Dee-es-tee-vee or you spend your lifetime at a viewing centre watching the Red Army walking alone across the frozen plains of the Parc De Princes... chances are your hard earned naira somehow ends up in Mr. Henry's house. As a matter of fact do so for the next fifty years and you could possibly lay claim to one of his pillowcases... |
fotadmowmend:Our architects are desperately lazy. Our public buildings are truly shambolic. |
A great man he was. Rest on sir. Old America is slowly fading away. |
AngelicBeing:That is politics for you. What we saw ahead then thanks to our mentors and promptly left. Never regretted my decision. We did it fir Nigeria. Let others try. |
abdulaz:Oga. There is the kingdom of God, there is the Kingdom of men and there is the Kingdom of the world... controlled by satan of course. The first and the last are doing very well thank you. It is the one in the middle that you should send your questions to. I don't understand what concerns Christianity with microscopes, space travel or bullet trains. Their business is salvation and knowing Christ. They are not responsible for the failure of the sons of men. Once a while they venture into the world to help but even if they did you will be the first to shout them down with the normal 'separate church and state' mantra. |
bluefilm:He is talking to people who know but choose to ignore it., the people who matter. If you don't know that road by now you don't need to know. We who travel across and traverse that region a lot know it. The fact is that Aba-Portharcourt is a very difficult section due to to a number of things: Traffic is immense. Encroachment on the Right of Way by all manner of commercial activities degrades the road protection very quickly and the road itself mended several times over recent years collapses easily. The ground conditions are poor and not well appreciated. The terrain in that section is the transition between forest region in most of the east and the mangroveto the south so there is a lot of sub soil movement. The quality of road construction normally done in the delta with regards to the sub-base protection should be extended all the way to Aba if the road is to last. Meanwhile you are adviced if heading to Portharcourt to instead turn north and onto the Owerri road and link up the Expressway at Eleme junction through the great land of Etche. But you guys are also forgetting Umuahia - Ikot Ekpene. Very soon that one will be reduced to a single lane. Try any decent speed on it and you are bound to come head on with a Dangote on your lane. Had three near misses in the last two years. Nigerian roads are fun. |
BullionVan111:Calabar - Itu is called Rolling Thunder. It is as if there is tectonic movement underneath the earth. Repair it, turn your back and it is in shambles again. That road has no solution. |
If or when your party gets into power do the same or better. You cannot fault a poor people for running after free money. You can argue with the soundness of the economics as I do but can you blame them. Both sides are desperate. Your party on the other hand is alleged to have taken the citizens for granted for a long sixteen years. |
