Politics › Re: Withdrawal Of $1bn ECA: PDP Charges NASS To Sanction President Buhari by Reference(m): 7:53pm On Apr 23, 2018
It has been on and on, on the radiowaves today. The purchase of a dozen Super Tucano ground attack aircraft for some 400 or so million dollars, last tranche payment as ordered by the former Jonathan administration. So I went online and checked about the aircraft in question.

Ideal for developing countries defence needs where operations are essentially low tech, assymetric in nature. It will essentially be a cheaper and more effective platform to operate than even the Russian gunships, our present hround attsck capability.

However like everything else, the price. Wiki indicates each unit goes for something like 14 million dollars. We are buying 12 so the math comes to about 200 million. How come we are spending more rhan double that. Granted it will be a package which normally includes training, logistics, spares and stores, I can now see why this purchase was rushed through without congressional approval.

It just doesn't make sense and it is obvious someone has been paid off or someone has stolen.

exactly! Like the way the US has a monitoring team called Internal Affairs used to monitor corruption and high handedness among American cops. If Nigeria police can emulate that then the issue of collecting bribe will at least go down a little.
They have stuff like that but where the victim is not a big shot or loud public nuisance, internal affairs will just contact the rogue cops and ask for their share.

The truth will prevail. Police Investigation is quite different from court proceedings. I think d dpo and some of his officers will be in problem at d end of d case.
He is already dead. Dead between the devil, the deep sea and the dungeon. He will wish he invested in farming instead of hospitality. He rats on the police and they get slammed hard, he is snuffed out. The crime boys get slammed, they put out a contract on him. He keeps quiet and gets the hangman's noose. Only God can save him.

Which Twin Towers are you talking about... the Trade Centre? That wasn't built by Julius Berger. I mean the one close to FMC. You can also see it from the Airport Road before the China Chamber of Commerce building and CCECC complex.

I have always wondered what and who is building that kind of structure. It's very close to my house along Airport road in Abuja, just behind Federal Medical centre. We have been debating exactly what that building is for over a year only for me to see EFCC Logo on it last week. It's an incredible edifice. But I can't believe Govt spent that kind of money on an office. Julius Berger built it and the quality of work there is simply incredible but 24 Billion naira? Kaii
Hmmm....that multirise building I suppose. It is certainly worth that amount but what is the EFCC doing in a building that is bigger than Force Headquarters (Louis Edet House) and can probably rival the CBN HQ.

Honestly, I am lost for words. These people are drowning... but I will appeal to Nigerians not to make the same mistakes as in 2015. Please no knee jerk reactions. Let this President continue a second term and force him to do the right thing in government. We should know that democracy is not only about elections and empowering leaders via the ballot box but not letting go of the reins of power.

That is what happens. People outgrow situations. Everything that has life grows. A bird builds a nest its size because it expects its chicks to leave when they come of age. It doesn't extend the nest to be as big as a tree neither does it build nests in other trees. I have something about what I call empire building in Christianity. Like in the earthly corporate world I can understand the effectiveness of size in penetration and rapid expansion but with it comes great temptations of abuse of power and privilege. These mega churches will continue to contend with those issues. It is an uphill struggle against the very nature of things as God created them. When the bird nest becomes too big, it threatens the tree that carries it.

Oyedepo applied the wisdom gained from the Adjeman fallout to contain the rest.

We went to kano to open a new branch for one of the bishops that left. In less than one year, we were living the dream. Cars, money big house with swimming pool, crowds and different TV stations were begging to have us on their platform.

All hell broke loose the moment we became direct competition to winners and pulling their strong financial members away!

The then governor of kano had to call Oyedepo and warn him that he would be held responsible if another religious war is started in kano. It was crazy then.
Which Bishop was that. Because Bolu Martins was the last of the old order in Kano.

all These remitting leaves each unit incapable of doing their own charitable and community service that would be another form of evangelizing.

I send in 100% and get back 35% of which mostly are for just the church and pastor finances, that poor. Paul settled churches and they created their own wealth and became fundraisers for his ministry to the Saints... Now the difference is that both parties became actors of this ministry and not one sided like we have nowadays.

All these Hq crap pisses me off, cos of the perceived intentions behind them all.
Then the natural crave for foreign currency again.

I'm sure if the naira and the dollar were similar, all these HQ would just allow these units to use the funds themselves. smh
But you don't join an organisation then determine how it is going to be run. That is rebellion and is not fair. They are asked to remit so that funds can be pooled and directed. Winners Chapel is very centric and structured. Almost everything is run from HQ and it has been so from the onset so anyone joining now should know what to expect. If funds from its various Nigerian outreaches was pooled to set up the Ghanaian mission, what is wrong in pooling further to establish the Liberian or Kenya mission. That is the secret of how Winners grows rapidly. They are able to command unprecedented resources in millions of dollars anually to speed up the process of church planting and growth. The downside to the outreaches is that they will have to make sacrifices consistently.

I am sorry but to disagree with a bit. I donot understand what 'Bishop Oyedepo's grace is. Understand that the grace all men operate under is the grave of God and God alone. If a man offends and suffers for it, it is because He has offended God. Man does not contain any power whatsoever to determine the destiny of another outside God. That is why God asks you to forgive so He alone will deal with the situation himself.

What's you take on bishop bolu martins,Mike Afolabi and Dickinson?
And Simeon Afolabi and Joseph Ebohimen and even inlaw Dayo Olutayo before them (I know all of them to their bathroom slippers). And the likes of Dele Bamgboye and Femi Martins before them all... And on and on. Many have risen to great heights in the ministry and left. None was let go easily which is understandable in the world of institution building. But Bishop Oyedepo had to realise that things of God, creations of God have life and one of the characteristics of life is reproduction. God ordains reproduction. Peter coukd not do it alone, neither could Paul.

Churches grow like natural cells and at an appropriate time they must split. Only unviable cells donot multiply. The pain that the church feels when these things happen is akin to the pain a pregnant woman feels at delivery (multiplication). It is natural but a result of the fallen state of man.

Abraham a man of faith was told by God to move on after Lot rebelled. That is God. All these other Bishops and Senior pastors who have left were resisted and delayed but in the end most left amicably. None was as bad as the Adjeman case since.

Can you see why your vote is not worth the N500 you collected from them. They are now demanding six-fold. Well if you did not collect the N500 naira you will appeal to your ranking member of the state house of assembly and the motion will be backed for debate and if a ground swell of people disagree with the levy the state HOA can stop it. But my guess is while receiving the N500 you signed away the right to control your representatives so you're stuck. Sorry, next time, don't collect. You can now see that your PVC is more important than you ATMC.

PS. This note is not meant to berate the good people of Imo. Just to call attention to what matters. But if you go ahead and elect his son-in-law you to power after him you should know what to expect. Then my write-up will not be so kind.

Mr Tonye, there is no doubt you may be right about the man and his potentials but the problem I have is that.... this is April 2018. This time in 13 months, this government will have ended. For a country as large and as complex as this. With more challenges bedevilling it more than ever before don't you think it is too late in the day for a new person to take charge in 13 months time.

The major problem we have today is of a government that was ill prepared for governance. That paid so much attention to the wedding at the detriment of the marraige. The issue is not about selecting a candidate, then electing him to power but how prepared the person is to rule. When an important new technology is proposed, what developers do is to test run it and if successful, certify it before placing it on the market. The Nigerian situation calls for more than a test run. I am dead sure if you ask Nigerians today if they donot mind changing the constitution to void the swearing in and rather have a potential president do a 3 month probation before approval, they will jump at that because 4 years is too much risk to bet on a person WHO HAS SAID NOTHING ABOUT THE JOB HE WANTS TO TAKE UP IN 13 MONTHS TIME. The biggest job of his life and the most important job in Nigeria.

Any one who aspires to lead Nigeria who by now HAS NOT STARTED TO SPEAK OUT ABOUT HOW HE INTENDS TO SOLVE THE CHALLENGES WE FACE CANNOT BE SERIOUS. And in all honesty I donot give a damn about whether INEC has blown the whistle to commence open campaigns or not. Because this is not an issue of campaigns but one of interaction, the sharing of ideas, the presentation of proposals, the genuine critique of the present system. Campaigns we know are just about vague promises. Campaigns are for ignorant, gullible folks. Campaigns are just intoxicating political jamborees. The real issues, the philisophy, the belief, the pathway must be marked clearly now.

If Makarfi wants the seat we want to know him like yesterday and if him and others will play hide and seek till a minute before elections it is far better we stick with President Buhari. Nigerian politics is notorious for empowering the unable and unwilling and I am beginning to suspect that you Tonye wants to drag a certain Makarfi kicking and screaming to the ballot paper. This is dead wrong.

Quality attracts quality. If you want to experience a great relationship go through the rigors of personal development. Read books, gain knowledge, develop a skill, be a person of values. In that process you become a proper judge of character and it won't be hard to identify the right partner when he or she comes along.

What this lady experced is typical of application without information. What she thought was love was lust so she kept on a series of errors. I don't know of anyone who was born with success software factory fitted at birth. We must all learn. But wisdom is in simulation before execution. Unfortunately young people lose even more social skills to social media. In those days only experts, success stories were published. Today's airwaves are filled with failures like her so the opportunity to learn is even more scarce.

He's been in national team circles too long. May not adapt to the rigors of weekly matches quickly enough to make an instant impact Arsenal requires. Arsenal needs a man that will hit the ground running with results. If there is a lag in results the whole thing could unravel quickly and depression engulfs the club. They need a flash coach to start with even if the person is temporary and doesn't last more than a season. But someone who can get them winning again almost instantly. That person must be very experienced and have first hand knowledge of the english game and premiership opposing teams.
