Fantastic. This is the value of continuity and may be our best option in 2019. |
kingkakaone:And 'Le Procastinateur', Arsene Wenger waited and waited..... and waited.... and waited for Tomas Lemar to be as cheap as satchet water while pricing his services like a pair of run down okrika boxers....the rest, they say is history. |
The wise clubs will wait for projected tv revenue figures before splashing the cash. Surely the annual circus called the Premiership has got to get its bubble burst someday. We can't be paying galloping cable rates forever. |
The rebellion that starts at the top with the IG's refusal to honour the National Assembly, the peoples representatives will not make the policeman on the street respect the very people themselves. It is a viscious cycle tolerated and encouraged by the very people oppressed, all in total ignorance. Where are those supporting the IG's intransigence. Enjoy your creation. |
TonyeBarcanista:There is no need for all the noise. The closing statements of the PDP rep holds true. If there was massive rigging as alleged then tension will naturally build and governance will become harder. If on the other hand the results express popular opinion, then peace and progress will prevail. In a functional democracy it is impossible to lid the peoples will in perpetuity. |
dominique:Nope. They are one and the same. The thunder is the sound resonance, the sound energy of lightning caused by the rapid heating, compression and then expansion of air around a lightning bolt. The reason why it appears distinct is that sound waves travel far slower than light pulses but at ground zero of a lightning strike it is one large explosion of both energies as exemplefied by the high voltage Tesla capacitor. |
And the same venue (church) to be used for the funeral, same day as the proposed wedding. Westerners and straight logic. If it were here in my beloved Africa the traditional inquest will go on for months starting with low level guerilla warfare between the bride's family and the groom's. |
HtwoOw:So what is your solution apart from RIP. At least they are consistent in crticising authorites you and I have empowered with our votes and permitted to use trillions of our collective naira to protect us. What in the worĺd will your RIP do to end the carnage. Again, what is the great solution you yave that should make the rest of them shut up. Keeping quiet when your country is run aground is tantamount to conspiracy. I hope you know that. You owe it to that dead policeman so that his children (if he has any) will live in a better society. |
I am sure the south states of Akwa Ibom to Delta are bogged down with huge recurrent and personnel costs. Only a deliberate investment in human capital development will unshackle them from the losing hope of a receding oil dependent world. |
Edoblakky:The allocation of world class coaches without a chequered Chelsea history is fast dwindling. If Chelsea fires Conte it will develop an unwanted notoriety for instability. The issues were clear to the footballing world, the Chelsea team was uncompetitive this season with a paucity of quality throughout the team. More investment is needed and with no Champions league to play for, Conte will be the only attraction for experienced, big time players to sign. |
anigold:How. Only a dummy will have bet on Chelsea. The run in performance was poor. The game before this was a clear warning. Couldn't beat Huddersfield at home when a clear result was needed was enough to kill any hope. |
seunmsg:Oga, all politics is local. You cannot expect them to support a government complicit or ambivalent in the wanton killings going on. Mind you PDP as a national party barely exists. Most of these votes won by the PDP will be protests votes against the status quo. Take it from me. If the APC led government doesn't come to socio-economic neutrality, the crack will only become a chasm. The APC is not doing well in Kaduna, period. |
Says a lot about politics in Kaduna and the balkanization going on. The government had better sit up or risk splitting the state in two. But I like this staggered system of elections at different levels like mid-term elections in some developed democracies. It gives the government a real heads up as to how their acts are felt on the ground and tbe opposition hiw effective its mesage is. |
penearth:The past, the past, the past. When are we talking about the future sir?. We had better remove the rear view mirror this administration uses. How many near misses are we going to have with Oga Buhari at the wheel before we end up in the bush. |
When the American police stops you for driving on an expired license and reeking booze, they address you as sir. When you buy the last mega burger that will seal your clogged veins and kill you, the sales boy will call you sir. When you buy Super Tucano prop planes at the unit price of jet aircraft, double what Ghana recently ordered them, then Trump has every obligation to call you sir. |
laurel03:Always blaming the past to excuse the present to destroy the future... continue. Well done. |
Absolute rubbish. There are just so many things wrong here. First and foremost we still do not understand the importance of institution building. The fact that Buhari is the summary of all these shows the shadow chasing continues. Four years ago, Jonathan was the problem and folks under the guise of all manner of problems removed him. Has Nigeria fundamentally changed, no. Why? Because most problems confronting Nigeria are institutional, systemic, not individual. They have no individual but collective solutions. So how can removing one person change Nigeria. Buhari inherited a failed system and he can only leave Nigeria worse than he met it despite all his best efforts. The person who they want to succeed Buhari will equally fail. However I do not totally condemn their actions. This is democracy and all and sundry have the rights to associate and project power. As a matter of fact, opposition is the life blood of democracy. What concerns me is how it is used, what or whom it targets and what the objectives are. As I said in all of 2014 and early 2015 change for the sake of change is hollow. A nation can make giant strides without the change of baton every four years. Merely the threat of it is enough where such demands attached to the threat are cerebral, patriotic, focused and fundamental. An example is the typucal NLC strike for pay rise without a parallel desire to see good governance and sound economic management. That is folly. All perceived gains are wiped out before the ink is dry on agreements. So, the tone of 'Buhari out' does not sit with me at all. I prefer the stability another four years of his tenure will bring since there is no guarantee whatsoever the next person can fundamentally change things for the better (I have not even mentioned how so short a time we have to assess the readiness and competency of the propsed 'new' person to govern). I believe the likes of Obasanjo, and others of similar ability and intent can bring change within this government by sustained, fundamental and cerebral opposition. Not just reacting to issues of governance, national tragedies or social debasement but crtiquing policies, plans and actions of government regularly and in detail. The long wait for things to go bad then the sudden barrage of emotions close to elections to me smacks of mischief and just an inordinate quest for power, not for the peoples sake but personal ambition. I don't subscribe to kneejerk reactions. I didn't in 2015, I won't in 2019. Nigerians should learn from their mistakes and quit emotional democracy. |
In a country where nothing works, where there are no rights, no institutions, no recourse, no justice, the attitude of the people should first, be that of self preservation. Itis true that the tree of liberty is constantly watered by the blood of patriots, but that is in a system where there are patriots. Nigeria has none. Our society cannot fundamentally be improved so people should avoid confrontation, violence and the beasts that roam the wild. Nothing will come out of this. The summary of the man's life is unfortunate and some will even blame him for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. It is becoming a crime against humanity to he born in this country. When will her people unite to build her society. Restructure Nigeria now. |
70 million gone.... just like that. |
When global watming eventually reaches there, that place will stink like hell. |
Lawless country filled with people wondering why nothing works. We are the victims of the mess we create and the failures we experience. |
Unnecessary. Simply walk out of the lecture and all the students loose. Do it consistently and both the students and the authorities will sit up. |
And some will be here on this forum mouthing off others while they dine with pestilence and disease. So indolent, they can't even bag, bin or burn their trash..... bloody alienoids. The Ministry of Health should close down that landfill before disease carrying vectors and vermins hit Abuja central. |
That's the problem with political coalitions. They live on borrowed time. I will not be surprised if a chasm emerges between the AC and the CPC in the near future once Buhari is done with politics. |
johnmartus:He said 'for a better Nigeria'. You on the other hand are not bothered about Nigeria. Is Aso Rock the headquarters of your local government or the town square of your village?. For your information you don't have to be in office to better your constituency, Kwakwanso only needs to be in a position to critise and pressurize the incumbent government for things to get better, something he cannot do effectively from within the APC. Kano state has always benefited from political plurality since the times of Aminu Kano. No one sits tight there building political empires and fiefdoms to the detriment of the people. |
Twoclans:Hmmm...I see. True confessions. In the context of feminity and relationships I am sure your fellow women will rush to hush you up because you are supposed to be the weaker, fairer sex...incapable of hurting a fly. Violence and angst is for the menfolk. |
00Ademi:All he needs to do is to institutionalise his acts and multiply his efforts bý mentoring. This is where we miss it in Africa. When you strive to reproduce many Abba Kyaris it will become impossible to truncate. |
Nice. Rail transport is the way to go. Now link is up with Apapa and Tincan, create a container yard at the Sagamu interchange and watch Apapa return to a habitation. |
Wow...the end of an era. Such a great man. Mentored so many in business. Will surely be missed. |
SammyJac:Okhiria is gone to where? |
A country that consumes its citizens. This is the country we have here, blaming the victims of robbery and rape to protect the identity and image of widely known social outlaws. The depths we have sunk to. |
DonMoga:Both sets are equally as useless to a functioning country. |
