Politics › Re: 160 Fuel Tankers Allocated To The North, 40 To The South-West by Reference(m): 6:27am On Apr 06, 2016 |
sweetgala: Nope, North Central would be Kano, Kaduna, Jigawa, Katsina,Abuja, Bauchi
Middle belt Nasarawa, Kogi, Benue, Plateau , Taraba, South Niger
There are over 19 states to factor here. Anyone who dismisses the large expanse of the North and is so stupid to classify the large divesity of tribes, giant population and demand for goods and services should only need be told that all SW states can be fit into Kaduna and Niger states (landmass) and still not fill it up. No sir. You mix things. There are six recognised geo-political zones. 3 in the south, 3 in the north. This is a fairly recent demographic development. It is not even constitutional. Prior to this and still widely used are 'regional' demographics of which the middle-belt is recognised. Thus what is called the middle-belt is part of the new north central definition, stretching from Niger in the west to Benue in the east, from Kogi in the south to Abuja - FCT in the north. You cannot use the terms middle-belt and north central in the same description. Kano is north-west |

'...Suffering is good for the soul..' said Roger Moore in the epic movie 'Wild Geese'. The bible says, 'when my anointed has suffered then he will be free from corruption'. I hope these things we have come to see since 1999 elevates the thinking of the average Nigerians and charts a course of safety for our beloved country. But if after all Hades and High Water we are still bound to primodial desires of tongue and creed then we are amongst all men most, most miserable. |

omogin: The Nigerian system that throws up the worst as their President needs serious rework. First we had a President with sense but no spine. Now we have one with spine but no sense Hahahahaha...you know I used to say this...ages ago. Now its just coming to light. So it is not the paper that needs changing. It is the copier that smudges every reprint and you can go on till eternity, Nigeria cannot develop until the system is restructured. Unfortunately Buhari is an establishment man bent on maintaining the status quo. The truth is we need someone to scatter Nigeria so that in the process of putting the pieces back together we might just get it right. GEJ was well underway until the powers that be, the owners of Nigeria said, 'hold on, we like this country just as it is thank you dear Johnny, now get on your way...' |

psucc: The man is simply confused by the enormity of the demands on him.
Today subsidy withdrawn tomorrow reinstated. I am just tired and fed up of Nigerians complaining. It is not only leadership that should know and get it right, the people too should know how to sort out their energy crises and should have insisted on their solutions from the get go.. Part of the flip-flop of government is caused by the confusion of the people. Like you said, on the subsidy. Today on, tomorrow off. Refineries donot come two a penny. They cost serious money and any investor or financier needs a clear line of sight to his profit or he won't shoot. The people must demand that government 'stabilizes' its policies on whether it wants new, fresh private investment or prefers orgies with the old, corrupt, never-do-well NNPC. Government SERVES the people. They will do what the people want. What are the people saying? Nothing, they are just crying like toddlers unable to communicate. |

Only restructuring will save this country. They said corruption was the biggest problem but after 1 year of unprecedented war the country is no better for it. No where in all the report above do we hear of what is being exported, how exports are helping to float the naira and stimulate non oil industry only where this person is from and that. They may be highly incorrupt and not be stealing government money (very unlikely) but they are wasting government resources on nepotistic squabbles which is just if not much worse. |

horsepower24: OP.. Few tips in choosing your preferred bank for your corporate account. 1. Know that opening a corporate account would require most of your CAC documents, a Tax Identification Number, probably your company seal with other requirements for opening a current account depending on the bank.
2. You would be charged for Search Report on the authenticity of the CAC documents presented to the bank. Bank charges varies. GTB charges N5,000. FCMB N4,000 I think.
3. There are a lot of current account variants that banks sell that comes with their terms and condition. Some offer you zero COT(Maintenance Fee) but there would be a penalty and should you break it, you would be charged COT.
NB: N50 Bank Stamp is applicable to all corporate account regardless of the variant any bank is offering you.
4. If you wish for the bank to finance your business, Diamond Bank used to finance SMEs until the Ariaria market traders came and spoilt that initiative with bad loans. (Nigerians don't like paying down on facilities).
You can try fidelity bank too if you have legal title documents to stand as collateral for the loan.
If you're a start up, run from GTBank & Zenith Bank. They would never finance your business no matter the business plan you propose.
If you want the ease of internet banking, try GTBank and Diamond Bank. A lot better. Several valid points that corroborate what I've heard as well. That it used to be Diamond but it is now Fidelity. |
