shumuel:No mind Siasia. Bench Iwobi, bench Kelechi, bench im future put. Wen oder team dey play dia youth players wey fresh and dia blood dey hot. |
mukina2:So you can see who is in form and who is not. Siasia see ya cocunut head. Where pesin wey play 2 leg and peson wey you use like data wey wan finish. Na who don score. Who dey form. Badluck pipo. |
....I honestly have nothing to say....so sad. |
Why is the fellow using such uncultured language to address the President. We are in a democracy and there are several tools at anyone's disposal to seek redress against government and its officials. For such a public figure to call his President an animal is unfortunate. Very uncalled for. The PDP should eject him. There should be no room for such base behaviour. |
1trillionlikes:I see. Only politicians ba. Where are the future leaders coming from, the present politicians? No. The present nobodies. What was Jonathan previously, lecturer, what was Buhari previously, army officer. How well are these institutions doing in fighting corruption. Are lecturers not busy 'sorting' and soldiers diverting resources. Will they not become politicians tomorrow and perhaps leaders. Then what will they bring to leadership other than corruption. One of the reasons corruption is so hard to cleanse is because it is entrenched, in our blood. We are born into it. It moves us through life. We depend on it. Thus if it must be eradicated it should start from the home, the child. And just like the polio vaccine its effects will be a lifetime coverage but trying to fight the present leadership is like giving vaccines to an adult already crippled by polio, completely useless. Let me be blunt and use live ammunition here. 1. There is no threat or war against corruption that will stop an Atiku or a Tinubu from handing out cash at the 2019 primaries except if they are not interested. (and I use them as samples because they are in the spotlight). 2. There is no way Buhari will have become President without illicit cash backing so people having hope on the likes of Ribadu should forget it permanently. The question going forward is (the thermometer of the corruption war), will 2019 become more or less cashless. 3. Whether we like it or not Peterside will have delivered better dividends to Rivers than Wike ever would. In fact at the PDP primaries there were better candidates than Wike but, BUT, they could not have defeated the Amaechi machinery. Same for Buhari. They were expedient, necessary, not better. Meaning that the engine of corruption has a reserve tank people don't want to touch. They are willing to tolerate it to get an edge. And the beat goes on. |
ajebuter:Hahahaha...according to Moody's, junk status loading. The kilishi industry will soon buy out the NSE for the high quality paper used in printing share certificates. |
opius:Exactly. Everyone likes s-e-x but the acts must be carefully chosen to avoid repulsion. I always say. EVERYONE HAS A POINT WHEN HE CAN GO NO FURTHER. They all know what they have once done and what others continue to do. And will do everything to ensure the cupboards never reveal their skeletons. |
...so anoda tin wey Kashuku dey take faya us, oyinbo dey call am tort. Walahi de man sense pass tortoise. I say, I no say, I do, I no do |
Olateef:I don't know the details of the pact but is there anything stopping the DISCOS generating their own power (owning their own power plants/stations). At least they can build booster stations. All Ikeja DISCO has to do is buy a plots the size of a football field each and array it with high capacity diesel generators all synced. 500 kva plants are considered optimal. It can start with 200 units giving approximately 100 megawatts and expand capacity with earnings. No doubt the power will be more expensive but the on-going fuel scarcity and the GSM roll-out of the past has proven that price is of secondary importance to availability. |
Gracito:Hahahaha, abeg no fall oh. Chain your ankle to the railings to avoid stories that attract likes and shares. |
Sammiel:Is there a lawful way the peons go about thrashing their slave masters. Revolution is not in the Constitution by way of the Letter, but.... |
mulattoclaro:He is frustrated. We are all frustrated. This country can turn men to beasts. |
LastProphet:Na now all of una dey confess Nigeria problem say no be only government but people too get wahala. Indeed suffering is good for the soul. |
slap1:Told you Nigeria's problems will demystify anyone. Well once the rains come, once China resumes buying oil enmasse the good times will return. Just don't believe one liners again that make solving our problems appear simplistic. Like, once I fight corruption, Nigeria will become a Holland. |
hush15:That's true. We really lack ideas in this country. We are mentally slow as a people. |
menix:That was politics. This is governance. Don't mix that into a c.o-cktail or it will make your head spin. |
dustydee:Both generating and transmissions are parts of a system. They are connected and affect one another. |
juman:It is too obvious. No nation starts its march to industrialization on gas power. It is too complex. The US, Japan, China, all Europe started with coal for power, for steel production, for cement production. It is cheap, abundant, safe and unattractive to theft. Gas is like electricity. It is dangerous, expensive, attractive to steal and its transport is limited. Like electricity, once a pipeline is punctured, even a small hole and the pressure falls, the plant is useless without storage and none of our plants store gas (very expensive - you have to compress it, liquify it and keep it chilled. Where is the power for that). We should abandon gas in the medium term until our economy is founded. We restructure, solve the Delta question, create wealth, lift the poorest and become civilised. Gas is for civilised people not Nigerians that cannot find responsibility in paying utility bills. You can imagine the carnage if NGC was piping gas to homes and Nnamdi wanted to by-pass meters, not connected Wole wanted to tap from gas mains and Kabiru wakes up in the morning to start digging wells. |
obailala:Of course, a lot of states have independent power plants that do not tie into Transysco. Some ingect directly into DISCOS at a very local level like Cross-Rivers and Lagos while some states have built private distribution networks (Amaechi started it in Rivers during Yaradua's time) . You may be tied into one and think it is GENCO power. |
9jatatafo:If you barely have a job or are getting paid half salary I hardly think savings will be your priority. If GENCOS are so power pauperized what are they doing with power banks. The number of countries with power banks are so few. Only China I know. Even the UK depends on diesel generators to counter snap overloads. |
obailala:Here is how it works. Every generator has two parts. The engine and the alternator. The generator may be a gas turbine, a diesel engine or a water turbine. Alternators convert the mechanical movement to electricity through magnets. Now, in a simple diesel generator, between the engine and the alternator there is a device called a governor. It matches the speed of the engine with the electrical load to maintain a stable voltage. Increase load and engine speed increases. Power plants don't work that way. Gas turbines and hydro turbines have a 'fixed' engine speed. They give out specific current at specific voltage. Once design loads are exceeded they are designed to shutdown automatically to prevent damage. We operate an single interlinked grid that is not smart. All power stations feed into one chain. If one or more power stations fail and load is not shed (cut-off), the load is transmitted to the other power stations which trip off one after the other until all of them fail. That is when the system is termed to have crashed. For them to have regained power within 3 hours my bet is that either Kainji or Shiroro must have taken the load because it takes much longer to get a gas turbine going again once it shuts down, sonetimes up to 24 hours depending on the config of the plant and the quality of the gas. |
Hahahaha. Chai. Which one be 0 megawatts. |
Aviero:Assisted by ol Wenger and served by Rafa Benitez. Boy what a combo. Only if Dangote can pull it off. We will be the team to be beaten....sorry abeg, to beat. Mbok. |
Abeg. Criticise when things are not done. Commend when they are. I can't see what this has to do with GEJ. He is out of government and the present government, whoever completed that road (state, Feds or NDDC) must be commended. Politics ends where governance starts abeg. |
BabaO2:But he was democratically elected according to the rules. Why can't you folks accept that. Apart from the senators absent in the Colombiano meeting all the rest were at the same International Conference Centre yet again to party. One would have thought that after about a year the APC hierachy will think twice about going to that place without Saraki in tow. I'm sure Buhari will have partied with one eye on Saraki via CCTV, one ear on BBC Hausa for breaking news and put a big dog at the gates of Aso Rock for added insurance. |
I have said it before. As a nation our die is cast. We are all about oil - Oilocracy. The President of OPEC is our real leader. We are indebted to those who buy and war against those that donot. So let us not say things were better under GEJ, prices were better, or things are bad under PMB, prices are down. We need not support government nor criticise them. Our support goes to US who pledges to buy our oil and our criticism to the same US for lifting Iranian oil embargo. Future: Well since, no ieadership or political blame. No leadership or political praise either. Wierd? That is the country the people want and have built for themselves. Irresponsible and beggerly. We are still colonized. Just changed masters. From Britain to ....not Bahrain....Oilrain. |
dubemnaija:But I don't understand why you guys don't speak out and act out with all the social media tools available to the modern student. |
Just wonder which institution works in Nigeria. Does the University have a Code of Conduct and should it include those acts of physical abuse and violence by the lecturer. They brought her in (the customer) for a reprimand in classic mafiaso style before the 'family' who as expected protect their own. If I were her knowing that a fair hearing is impossible I will have conducted a sting and secretly recorded it all. If supposedly cultured, educated and enlightened people act this way, what do they expect of the students who may hold positions and future responsibilities. Pity. Its been a while since I was in employment but I used to think the minimum you get for brawling on the job was a certain query and suspension.? |
obailala:Abi oh. Even if dem dey tiff coal to roast bole. E no go bad lak dis. |
bakynes:No be peson dey control drone. When e close work e go resume im vandalism work for night. Femi say make we go guide pipe. People dey vex. Una go soon see say na true. |
persius555:Has it occured to you that it may be those tasked, engaged with the job or repairing these pipelines that may be sabotaging them for gain. That the recent incident involving the death of those workers may not be all that it seems. Just thinking aloud. I don't just trust the NNPC/NGC on this matter. That's why I am a strong advocate for private sector control. Strategic assets should be controlled by those who will 'weep' to lose them, not people who will tell you 20 billion dollars is missing from their accounts with a smile. This country. |
SleekAboii:Hmmm....perhaps nuclear energy is the solution. You dare not vandalise that. On the other hand who says they can't and send us back to the stone-age.....abeg oyibo lingo no be am. We dey stone-age already. Wetin dey before dat wan....eh? chimpanzee level. Abeg, I donot stand with Buhari on nuclear. Make we dey use firewood jeje. We no need am. |
