GreatEngineer:Hmmm.... A for ACN - Tinubu. P for PDP - Atiku. C for CPC - Buhari. They should zone it amongst the trio. Perhaps Tinubu next. |
meccuno:Not true. They are one of the cleanest animals. Commercial pigs are so sensitive to dirt it has become almost impossible to raise them in commercial quantities in Africa these days except genetic engineering is performed using virus resistant DNA from wild boars. Such farms like the presented simply cannot be done again. |
otokx:When I said we should de-regulate you folks preferred a ban so that only government and its cronies will gain access to fx. Oya na. Make government employ the 2000 workers na. Look you folks, the private sector is the goose that lays the golden egg. It is their view that matters. Foreign investors lift you from poverty, it is their desires you pursue TO THE DISADVANTAGE OF YOUR NATIONALS. You must listen to what international markets are saying if you want their investment. It is only Nigerians that decorate their homes better than their offices and consider their comfort above their capabilities. We are now suffering without benefit at the end. Protecting the naira for nothing. |
By 2019, everything we know and have come to hear will be demystified. Election victory is like a cheque that has been cashed, the value falls over time. The APC had better invest its political capital fast. It is losing value. 1 year has all but gone. Anyway, like I always say. Change the game, not the players. |
Don't see anything wrong with it. But this is a personal opinion because I am absolutely de-tribalised. I am free to be human first. |
nzeBiddle:Aghaowa still 29 Immigration Service and passport office go don tire for him mata. |
Is that not a ligature around her neck, puffy eyelids, face and all. Strangulation. Not signs of a hit. Rather a crime to cover up the act. The stab wounds are probably from an improvised weapon. The should check for signs of rape and begin to question all those in her sphere of influence. |
jumich1:Thank you. More than that sef. 100 Mw x 36 states is 3,600 mega watts: 90% of Nigeria's present installed capacity. 100 megawatts is just 200 No. 500 Kva generators in each state. ONLY 200 BIG GENERATORS IN EACH STATE. Ayade has already installed 6 No. Tied in Grid in Obudu producing 4 Mega watts and plans more all over the state. This is dirty, unsustainable and expensive but with solar that has zero running costs and zero carbon emissions it more than makes up. |
400billionman:Ayade came from the PRIVATE SECTOR, Shell Petroleum. Imoke came from Government, former Minister.....wait for it.....amongst others POWER. Do we bring a grade school student to do Quantitative Reasoning on these two to find out.....WHY!!!! |
ogb5:Knowing what I do some of your points are right, others are wrong. First, Ayade always does things in phases. I am almost certain this proposal is just one phase. He has other agreements working right now and this feeds into the second point. His back up are mini fuel power plants he plans to build. The first one a 4 Mw plant at Obudu (his place) is virtually ready and I understands there are plans to have them all over the State. I agree that Cross-River state is perhaps the state with the least solar potentials (there are certain months of the year when you virtually beg God to see the sun due to excessive precipitation) however over capacity can handle this flaw. On the issue of a gas plant I beg to disagree. Oga. Are you not tired and fed up of hearing gas plants. Cross-River has no oil and gas, the Federal Government's own IPP in the state has only one out of four gas turbines active due to uncompleted/inadequate gas lines. Why should he go down that terrible lane. What Cross-River has in excess is water. Hydro power is what the state can exploit massively. There are countless rivers where mini plants 5 - 10 Mw plants can be built. On/near the coast he can deploy tidal power. I like his initiatives and drive. He is big on ideas in a small state and I honestly wish him the best. What Cross-River lacks in traditional south-south resources it more than makes up on them in great human capital from above average leadership to a peace loving people. Wish them the best. |
Ha. I hope there are no images worthy of that hot, pepperish Ugandan soft sell. With stories of threatened releases in Georgia and the Hulk Hogan saga in the US, its just a matter of time before a torrent of celebrity bu.tts emerge in Naija and you know when we get on any act we do it BIIIIIG. |
layla129:Yeah, it is something like standard protocol. Worthy to be expected. That of the US president was expected even hours before he spoke (time difference). I don't see what the big deal is and I don't see how international terrorism relates with our socio-cultural, ethno-religious challenges. Buhari is not the cause of the violent Fulani normadic movement neither is he the solution just as Jonathan was not the cause of the Bokoharam insurgency neither was he the solution. |
Sunofgod:You gerrit. Its like narco. The economy will absorb this and very quickly inflation will catch up again. Before you can say 'undertaker' we will see IBB regime interest rates of 35% when the only thing you could successfully use a loan for is running hard drugs or bunkering stolen crude. |
Ecoplexus:Just to protect the naira/government expenditure/budget. The private sector, the engine room of development is hung out to dry. |
Joenyam:Can't see anything good in this. Simply because it is targetted at protecting the naira because government fears criticism of a weakened naira. Raising rates is just adding one extra grave digger. They were 11 before, the CBN says we should have 12 to hasten the rites of our industries. Everything this government does is to protect the naira. Will the naira by itself develop Nigeria? |
TippyTop:Honestly I think it is. Higher rates mean industries already struggling with fx crunch are being dealt additional banking blows. How many will be able to withstand this punishment without submitting remains to be seen. Those that can will simply pass on the costs and inflation rumbles on. Raising rates leads to more rate rises, like a junkie on crack until cardiac arrest happens. |
lanre316:See this man oh. If banks are paying you more to tie down your cash where do they get the extra money eh? Loans of course. Except if banks start printing money or they become Ponzis. |
tobimillar:He was just as vocal. The problem is that expectations were different. Then people didn't listen because times were good. Now that oil is water they are angry that he is saying what they know but hate to admit. Read between the lines again and see it is an indictment on the people of this country. One salient truth I always say. Every leadership comes from the people and is a reflection of the mean values a people hold. Where two or three Nigerians are gathered there is a Buhari and Jonathan there. |
Opinedecandid:Is that not what we have been saying for years, that Nigeria's problems were not created by one man and so cannot be solved by one man. That they are systemic and thus only restructuring will solve them. People were shouting Buhari, Buhari, corruption, corruption. Meanwhile the corruption continues unabated at all levels and the recoveries of stolen wealth has not improved the economy one bit. Facts, lazy people will deny simply because they don't want to share responsibility for nation building rather thrusting their entire future into the hands of a septugarian only interested in his legacy. Make una dey wait, no work oh. Change will fall from heaven. |
mrphysics:You are asking for help then he and those who offer advice should shut up and keep quiet. People who advise are now all enemies of this government. The government is not doing some things well, open your ears, listen and learn. It is folks that refuse to listen that certify their doom. No leader knows it all anywhere in the world in any field of endeavour. I wish you listened to Obama's speech today to the Cuban people especially the part on what makes America and Americans. Nigerians staked their salvation on one man. I said that was a mistake, that nations are built by people not governments, now the man is being shielded from criticism in the face of lapses. What does this signify. Go to American blogs and US based social media sites and see how every single move of Obama on every single issue is being tackled in such a manner that will make Buhari's critics kindergarten kids. But Obama says, it is what makes America, America. |
muller101:They are not innocent. What are they doing there. Ladies of base morals. |
KingCheezyPuff:Somebody stop them women going there. Always playing the victim yet presents as in charge and in control. They set up brothels and it is the male patrons who are at fault. The pimps set up shop (as it is here) and the ladies are victims also. When will women start taking responsibility for the abuse of their sexuality they readily and are willingly apt to project. |
BE811APP:Goat head pepperoni, Spiced 404, Unshelled pickled periwinkle, Roasted porcupine, or Grilled lawnmover....sorry grasscutter or whatever that oversized rat is called. |
brixton:Heard the Amuneke interview on BBC World Service and his comittment to Nigeria appeared a done deal. He should be reminded about the way blacks are treated in the 3 Lions and told the history of relegated Agbonlahor. |
The engine cannot be started when 'P' for Park is selected. Tell me something my cars don't do. |
With 300 years of democracy Obama still met a comatose US economy with record debts yet he set out his stall and got to work immediately. Within ONE YEAR, the banks and auto industry returned to black and started repaying bail-out loans. In Nigeria the APC is still blaming George Bush squandermania in Iraq and Afghanistan. Okay. So by 2019 when another person comes and promises us 1 naira to 10 dollars and 1 million megawatts of electricity and an edict to abolish bride price what do you want us to say.....answer na, yes or no. APC, na una dey set standard oh. |
akinsbaba2015:I know democracy is relatively new in Nigeria so some pardonable gaffes but pally, if the PDP put Nigeria on a sustainable path there will have been no need to change them. People don't vote for fun. They vote to promote their interests. That is why many can't understand the complaint by the APC about the bad precedence. If my torchlight is dim or my car loses its reliability. I change it and I expect to get a better one and not being called a tortoise by my salesman. The same argument was made by the PDP, that we should be patient. We said no. We want change. If the APC had said, look folks, we will take 4, 8, 12, infact 16 years like the PDP had, will they have won? Mark you. It wasn't a landslide victory. It was 55:45 at the end. What tipped it in favour many argue was the 'military badge' Buhari wore. That he could get things done sharp sharp, aka hit the ground running. Which one be tortoise talk now. Salesman show me the goods. Time for talk is over. |
plaetton:Hence my slogan, 'change the game, not the players'. Now the electorate is being insulted, called tortoise after using them to get power, they are now foolish. That is why I may never vote in my life time. |
arote:Don't tire. 1 year in power is like 12 minutes in a football match. You go play defence till 2019, half time. Whether you come out for second half is another matter. |
DONSMITH123:Scape goat on what basis. What is he saying about the President and the APC that Amaechi didn't say about Jonathan and the PDP in times past and what happened to him, nothing. If Buhari takes the bait, he is done. Its a democracy, he better just look away. |
3sha4lyf:Vanguard is a counter-weight for Sahara and otjher pro APC tabloids so expectedly your complaint reveals your political identity. But fair enough. Every media house in democratic countries have sympathies for one side or the other. |
ikbnice:Don't need, do. |
