What's with these sick fans and their lasers. |
I think the American government should stop meddling in our affairs and let us learn from hardship since this is the only logical way of the black man. It is apparent this nation and her leaders are hell bent at remaining beggarly and tied to the yoke of big oil. They don't want to work. Leave the horse at the river. When it is thirsty it will do the needful. Did anyone beg them to remove fuel subsidy. |
So me and my family are awaiting our own stretch of pipeline security allocation. We can only do one hundred metres and must be near an eatery, dats all. I can do night, my other half will do mornings and the children will do afternoons after school. No wahala. |
simplynola:So in your opinion electricity in the barracks is the difference between saving a nation from external aggression and losing a nation. Then soldiers fighting in the bush at the front have constant electricity abi. The question is, what exactly do soldiers use electricity for that makes 24hrs power at the expense of the nation in general so critical. Because I have served in the army and I have lived in several barracks in my life time from training to deployment and I can tell you one thing, when a formation is under attack, the last thing you want is light, whether by air or ground. It will pin point your position to everything but night optics. Most military equipment I know are built to be field operational, that is they have independent power to run their computers, their tactical boards and their equipment whether radars, radios, missiles and guns. Soldiers are trained to adapt and operate in challenging environments and thrive where most others cannot. At least the soldiers of my day. My first unit was not even connected to the grid. |
Quakertellicus1:True. I was not proposing anything serious. Just thinking out loud in view of the 'rocket science' thingy. That indeed immediate solutions don't have to come out of this world (no pun intended). Our present generation capacity is so low, quite frankly it can be matched by diesel generating plants. Indeed I don't know of any developed economy both past and present that didn't set its industrial base in place with any other energy source other than coal. This was true for the US, all of Europe and is now true for China and India. Coal remains the poor man's choice and route to power. When you have your industries up and running and your economy firmly founded then you can begin to think of more exotic fuels such as gas and nuclear and join the hypocritical club of those saving the planet by investing in green. Poor peoples and nations donot start at the top. Speaking of transmission challenges, I have always voted in favour of smaller independent plants located within or near the point of use. This not only saves on costly transmission infrastructure but strengthens the system against total grid shutdowns. If power generation can be brought to the levels of say local governments you can operate at the distribution levels and cut out most of the 33kva (high tension) infrastructure. It is more wasteful but more resillient and will create a culture of responsibility amongst customers who steal power, donot pay bills yet blame some organization far away they are not in touch with. I feel the power sector even with privatisation remains too rigid, too unwieldy and there are just not enough players to make a real difference. That Cross-Rivers for instance is under Portharcourt Electricity Distribution Company is just ridiculous. That's a six hour drive in some parts and comletely out of touch in a business where knowing your customer is even more important than in the communication industry. |
simplynola:Why should light in the barracks be 24hrs. What is there that makes it necessary ti have 24 hrs power. May we be delivered from the vestages of colonialism induced military rule. What is so special about barracks. Answer. |
Quakertellicus1:Oga, all this one na long grammar. Power generation is not rocket science.....okay, I am not Fashola but all our proven installed capacity is say 5,000 megawatts that is 10,000 units of 500 Kva generators. Get down to the UK and commandeer the FG Wilson plant to make them, say 200 units every month. Within the 4 years of the administration you will have doubled the nation's power generating capacity. By the way you can dedicate one of the refineries to exclusively supply diesel or black oil or whatever fuel they need, voila!!. Not rocket science abi. |
My views on anything petroleum are well known so there's no need for me to comment on this viscious cycle of failure. But on the political side of things, Tinubu has every rightht to call things to order in as much as it affects the political fortunes of the party. He has steered clearly away from the day to day running of government which is right but feels he has to step in when his job is made all the more difficult by the government. The only thing I wish is that it doesn't become a habit where politics becomes entangled in governance, it is done more privately and it is done in the right spirit if not it can so easily destroy the party. It is one thing the opposing PDP must learn. They did not know where the lines were and so tripped over them time and again until their goodwill was completely lost. Opposition and internal democracy is good. But it must be done in absolute wisdom. And yes. Buhari is ultimately responsible for what happens in the petroleum sector. He is the executive in chief there. This is why he should not have placed that responsibility upon himself, because of consequences such as this. He is absolutely to blame for the crises. |
Still playing on that rough pitch that looks like a paddy field. Just see how tall the grass is. |
What's a Colonel doing driving a GLK. That is where to start. |
phlemzy:I think that has to do with the APC itself and how it set out its stalls. Criticisms from every corner have always been viewed politically and not objectively by party faithfuls and those who have done so no matter their background and disposition have ben lumped together and stereotyped. Secondly, so much faith, fevour and even idolatry has been placed on party leadership that anything counter became sacrilegious. I hope this sets the ball rolling towards more openess and internal democracy in the APC for its own good. I hope many more parth members speak up against wrongs at all levels. My APC people, take it in good faith. It does not spell doom for the party. Criticisms when taken in good faith, sifted through properly and applied wisely, strengthens institutions. |
tinsel:Courage, hahahahaha, is he not party leader again. When I used to say there is a clear difference between governance and politics. Thank goodness Buhari has drawn the line, built a fence between the city and the game reserve. |
seunmsg:They are talking about the appointment part you conveniently avoid. |
Only restructuring can save this country. Any leader that desires to leave the country in a better shape than he met it had better take heed. |
Siasia should go FOR 3 POINTS in Egypt. Forget who plays, forget how they play, forget formation, forget scoreline. Just win. When your objective can be reduced to a single focus it becomes easier to attain. |
Siasia was the problem yesterday. Not sa.ying he is a bad coach but where do you draw the line between attack and defence when what you need most was 3 points in such a scenario. They say attack is the best form of defence and a second goal is added security but then that is when you have clear scoring potentials. The Siasia bench was a combination of untested players at that level. Why throw them in attack and expect them to extend the scoreline at the expense of the defence. It was a mistake. The Egyptians clearly needed the next goal, not us. Siasia should rather have consolidated the midfield. That will have supported both attack and defence. Moses' entry was unnecessary, Iwobi should have started to tie his nationality down, a midfielder should have been brought in to prevent more defensive forays forward and Siasia didn't need to batter the Egytians with a litter of goals to prove himself or the team. We know our team were fairly good but now they have blown it. |
gsparks01:'1st debut'? Tautology. |
DeBamenda:The police should get them down to prevent a tragedy. |
Just coming in from my road trip as Nigeria scores but the pitch is very bad. Iheanacho is a pearl. Great player. |
Since when. The news is just getting here. Lazy forum. |
repogirl:Honestly, if half the effort that went into producing that thesis was set aside to find suitable grass, by now our cattle populace will be happily munching away at our local salad. The Minister doesn't even want the cows to exercise anymore. Rather kept on the couch, growing pot bellies filled with imported 'junk grass' food. Very soon our cows will be having cardiac arrest and stroke. Minister hmmm.... |
Kindergarten Mlnister. |
Flets:Period. And neither will any serious foreign investor visit a family filled with squabbling relations. Nigeria simply cannot develop. We need leaders and peoples who can truly unite the country. We need a president who will go round Nigeria and BEG, APPEASE, ASSURE, CONSOLE and show SOLIDARITY with all peoples of Nigeria. |
EgunMogaji:Hahahahaha, you saw it too. Abeg they should start with Einstein's theory of relativity first and camp there for the next 50 years before they can start to hallucinate. Its like they share controlled substances in their FEC meetings. |
Land in space....hahahahahaha. Can't even construct english properly. How do you land in space. |
siraj1402:Your doctor's advice says take the complete dose to prevent drug resistance. Heavenly advice says investigate all politicians and public servants irrespective of party affiliation to avoid entrenching corruption. You say no, that it is the past government alone that is corrupt and jailing only them will end corruption. So we are ABSOLUTELY CONFIDENT corruption cannot be tackled let alone defeated. Infact just as the malaria parasite becomes resistant with incomplete dose so will corruption become more embedded in the polity going forward. It has happened before. The failure to put away corruption across the board (going after only those politicians who were vocal against his putsch) leaving corruption festering under his nose led to Buhari's overthrow by the very man whose file of atrocities was on Idiagbon's desk when he went on the Hajj. And who turned corruption from a limited liability company to a PLC, yes, IBB. Go and read your history. Most great empires fall from within. The people Buhari is protecting today.... |
Chai. Softly, softly on Madame Oby. |
I like horror but it has to look plausible with realistic non comical characters and of course great acting. That's why for me, 'Silence of the Lambs', 'Hannibal' and Anthony Hopkins takes the cake. |
GogobiriLalas:Let me tell you something. There are two who know these things in advance. He who created the things being destroyed and he who destroys the things that were created. If it is God that sees the impending plan of evil He won't ask you to pray, He will tell you what to do. To inquire by man is a constant act. David inquired of the Lord and the Lord told him 'what to do'. The Lord did not ask David to 'go and pray again to avoid it'. Pray to whom again. If it is God revealing these things to TB, the question is, why is TB not 'doing anything about the revelations' in order to do good - avert disasters. It is either TB is disobeying or 'is told not to interfere'. And who could that be, God? Some people might claim he doesn't have access but INTERPOL has an office in Abuja. Send them a letter. You are a world reknowned seer. They will take you seriously. When Herod was looking to slay baby Jesus, when Saul was looking to kill David and many more instances He got through to man and tragedies were averted. Recurring tragedies are indications of the absence of God or the lack of communication. In a church this does not happen. Is God scoring zero in TB's church time and again. And my man, your language and manner of speech does not indicate christianity or discipleship. I'm being honest with you. |
Ehiscotch:You got it. Just advertising. Just baiting and will a God who is love use tragic incidents and works of evil to advertise....not to me. |
I believe I have said all that is to be said about the petroleum industry and the demonic principality called the NNPC. Tell me someone isn't making billions out of this scarcity and sharing it with these officials to maintain the status quo. Now he say we want him to be a magician. If he likes he can be a seer, genie or even a spirit, I'm done on these matters. |
mikolo80:Said the then, ACN was, and its faction in the APC is, just a regional player and that the CPC had a better national spread, people doubted. It will be far easier for the CPC faction to survive a breakup than the ACN faction. Even the PDP faction in the APC will more likely throw its weight behind the CPC than the ACN. Look at what they are doing to Saraki. He won't forget that and the likes of Atiku, Kwakwanso, Tambuwal, El-Rufai and even Rochas and Amaechi, all former PDPians will be thinking, 'hang on, that could so easily happen to me' and rather align with the CPC as a less overbearing and a more democratic faction than the ACN, if a choice has to be made post Buhari. |
