aisha2: When people decide the acts like idiots they loose the right to determine how the other person responds.
Any woman who hits a man has lost the right to determine what he says or does in response to her actions.
Who hits first is the aggressor. If two men fight the question the judge will ask is who threw the first punch and not who hit harder
Hmm. Who hits first. Israel v Hamas, US in the Arab world things.
Sports › Re: Top 10 Nigerian Stars Who Chose Not To Play For The Super Eagles by Reference(m): 5:20pm On Sep 11, 2014
I will have felt bad if they were top players. In a Nigerian shirt from a Nigerian camp coached by a Nigerian and warehoused by a Nigerian FA, I doubt if they will have turned out better than what we have now. There has always been this fascination with foreign born and bred talents but we've not seen a lasting impact. From the Reuben Agboola's to the chap that fractured his foot enroute Brazil 2014, they have been decent but not spectacular and certainly not worth the hype.

I think the category of players that have impacted the game most were those set of guys who left our shores early, unknown and unheralded but turned spectacular over time. The likes of Jay Jay, Richard Owubokiri, the late Sam Okwaraji and of course Victor Moses. This is the clutch of players we should be exploiting not necessarily the former.

Hmmm Kwankwaso trending on NL these days. Must be something big round the corner. Let me guess....the 4-yearly mating ritual of the peacock. Alpha males showing their livery and strutting their stuff. I hope the electorate is watching. These days to compete for the highest office you need a portfolio of deliverables. Glad it has come to that. Well done governor.

Echeijile is a minus in that team. In my opinion he barely makes the cut. Too slow in thought and movement. His wing leaked like a wicker basket. By the way Congo has six points so its between us and SA to Morocco. This match matters. I hope Keshi knows that.

koastar: Innoson is trying but the company has to step up on safety of workers because I can see that all the workers in that plant have no protective helmet and jacket (overall)
Good observation but unrealistic. It just adds to the cost of production and then to the price of the products which right now is a no, no. Two things can make safety an issue. One, costs associated with incidents or accidents particularly litigations may force their hands or two, when they begin to export to the EU or the US they will have to raise standards to meet regulations. Anyways by then Innoson should be able to afford changes. The question is, will we still be able to afford the cars then.

snipesdam: More images of the production plant will be coming your way.

Just want to see how some Nigerians will react. Thanks for the other nairalander for backing up with more pix. Will post better once by the end of today.
Look my man. No serious person is interested in the processes just the products. Do they meet our needs, period. It took Richard Quest to visit Cote D'Ivoire to see where the cocoa beans in chocolates came from, what about the high street garments from Bangladeshi sweat shops or Nike's factories in Thailand or Advanced Dynamics making semi-conductors in China. Abeg make una chill. Get the skill, make the product, market it and when volume orders come, automate to your heart's content. That is the way every success goes not the other way round.

People want to see fancy robots but when the cars prices jump from 1 to 2 million you will hear something else.

kablooee: This is indeed sad, my workshop is more equipped than this, all I see is just vehicle lift, I was looking to see a simple CNC machine. Innoson is indeed just another good pane beater putting parts together.
Oga what do you want. To buy the car or the factory. There are expensive cars crafted by hand. There are cheap ones as well. There are expensive cars crafted by machines, there are cheap ones as well. There's no one size fits all to industry. If Innoson had supply contracts worth 10,00
units a month I will appreciate full automation but how many units do they sell presently to warrant fancy robotics. Let them crawl before walking first. Afterall models like Jaguar and Aston Martin are not built under full automation generations after inception.

And if you ask me being a hands on man myself the 'head' knowledge of these cars will make them easier to maintain. They are indirectly raising a generation of technicians we badly need and who will find expression beyond Innoson and its factories. Why not ask Shell and Julius Berger what they have done in terms of manpower development.
Family › Re: Who Is A God-fearing Individual? by Reference(m): 10:09am On Sep 10, 2014
In biblical times the now widely used word 'respect' was not in vogue. Fear simply means respect and the cornerstone of respect is obedience. To fear God or to be a God fearing man/woman is simply one who obeys what God says.

Within this simplicity lies enormous man made complexities that have damned man and doomed his future existence.

Na. N 636 per line per month is poor. Shows there's not much business going on in Nigeria. Take out non profit calls and data and you're probably down to N300 per month or N10 per day. Poor. How many serious seconds do Nigerians spend on their comm. devices.

It seems he's beginning to see how over-rated so called leadership is in a country like Nigeria. It seems he's beginning to realise that 160 million Nigeria donot share the same ideals of perhaps good roads, stable power, free education and so on because certain countries have these in abundance yet generate rebellion and insurgencies abundantly. It seems he's beginning to fear that this is not a goverment problem but a Nigerian one. It seems he's beginning to realise that societies are formed in the crucible of extreme difficulties which are inevitable. It seems he's beginning to mature his thoughts, re-align his expectations, lower his feet but elevate his thinking. As responsibilities come closer to him and possibly thrust him front and centre of the problems facing Nigeria of course I expect responses such as these. That is Nigeria for you. An enigma rolled up in a mystery.

I really just don't know what to say. I'm struggling real hard to find some positives but in the climate called Nigeria at this moment there is none. It looks bad from wherever you look at it. This is nothing but a cache of political ammunition handed over to his opponents. He should just pray hard that the legendary Nigerian amnesia kicks in quickly.

RockMaxi: Prevention is only absolute if the water flows by automation to reduce hand contact with the tap. huh
Good point. When I look at the faucet and it doesn't have the lever swivel arm like the ones I have at home I won't touch it. What is the point of washing your hands and then taking back the bugs via a screw tap. Even with my swivel taps at home when I wash my hands I go 'surgeon', using my wrist, elbow or the back of my palm to shut the tap.

Another thing I notice is my eyes sting a few minutes after each hand wash showing the anti-septic is on point and also how so easy it is for the virus to get to soft tissue such as the eyes. Fascinating.
Health › Re: Ebola Case Confirmed & Treated In Lagos by Reference(m): 8:27pm On Sep 08, 2014
otswag: see, the good thing about ebola Is That its a self limiting virus which simply means That it Will run its course and eventually die out on its own so if an infected individual Is managed well enough by giving medications and intravenous fluide to control the life threatening symptoms like recurrent diarrhoea and vomiting, high grade fever, hemorrhage and so on, there Is a very good chance of survival. The medications are Just to prolong the patients life long enough for the virus to die out on its own.
Correct except for the blood loss with is a late term presentation and is a result of the destruction of the protein that makes blood to clot. At this stage it is most likely the kidneys, liver and spleen are irreversibly damaged. Survival at that point is next to zero. The body has practically no defences left.

omoadeleye: but that guy dressing those workers should try to be quarantine also, course that is also the clothe they are gonna use to carry Ebola patient ,and he is dressing them without wearing any glove
Good observation. I've often been alarmed at the way some of them transit from their bio suits to normal clothes. Some decontaminate with chemical sprays while still wearing them before undressing which I presume is correct while others UnCloth and then you see them handling the 'dirty' suits in an attempt to decontaminate them. Is this not wrong and could it not account for the high fatalities among medics who are presumed protected.

My rule for anyone male or female is simple. Whatever you accentuate or project says a lot about you. What is left is what interests me. Thus the less the better so that something can be reserved for issues that matter. If a lady has to go into such intricate detail as to put a chain on her ankle to me it simply means she doesn't intend to work hard and has not much upstairs. Its all about image. Air-head. And who wants to subsidize all the work and thinking. Not me.

And how do we know that Ribadu will even be a better administrator than Fintiri or vise-versa. We haven't had a chance to scrutinize them, to hear what they have to offer just personality wars and name dropping. This angers me. They should have all contested the bye and should all contest 2015 if within Federal laws and our constitution.

I find it hard to understand most people here in the light of their views on this matter and the correlation with GEJ's presidential ambition. You are either a democrat or not. You cannot have it both ways. Personally I chose what I feei is right even if it churns my bowels because I don't look at people but institutions and as such I hate consensus. It is hopelessly anti-democratic no matter the party, office or person. Buhari, Atiku, Goodluck, Fintiri and all others have the right to contest any office for which they are qualified for. Stop this hypocrisy. Agreement? What nonsense agreement. If Fintiri wants 2015 let him contest. Enough of this 'propapolitics', government of the unable and unwilling. It is killing us.

highmood: I was watching an APC loyalist on tv boasting before the election that APC will win. I wonder what he has to say now. APC are using a strategy of crying fowl before elections to gain sympathizers. PDP shouldn't fall victim to thier antics and INEC should not be distracted in conducting a free, fair and credible election as promise by the president. I love this man called Goodluck. My people say a bull that has no tail, its the gods that chases the fly away for it. GEJ coast is been cleared by God. GEJ till 2019, after which the middle belt, after which the southeast, then the west.
Hmm. You want to set Nigeria on fire.

Quite frankly the Cross-River state government has taken Nigeria for a ride. They have not invested adequately in infrastructure. They have not shown any returns for the huge amount of publicity, hospitality and tourism income that has accrued to them from all our national teams.

If they cannot do it let them lay the charge on at least the hotels who are making a killing. In the future the FA should open annual hosting bids for all cities with the best financial and infrastructural packages. No more sentiments. That pitch played against us yesterday. It is high time governments chased after the FA not the other way round. With the trophies won recently our football is more marketable than ever before especially to failing politicians who wish to launder their sordid images since the game is as potent and hallucinating as narcotics.
