Heart2heart: When pieces of crafts made to fly in the air stays on the ground for a long time, they grow much affinity for the ground with zero potential. in fact, it atrophies. The law of atrophy has set in. A jet fighter than has not fought for years will only become a road fighter - struggling for packing space with cars in the traffic or a monumental piece of shit. The day you force it into the sky, it voluntarily gives way for gravity..
So which wars have we organised for the Nigerian Army since the 67 civil war to make them combat sharp. The Army has spent the last 50 but 15 years in politics. That is 50 years of dis-investment and decay. Some didn't even want the military to have guns now we want them to go from cold start to full tilt in a heart beat. Pally it won't happen. Give them credit for what they offer. They are the only ones standing between you and a certain refugee status.

patostation: Two things can happen:

1. The jet can crash, bearing in mind the poor maintainance culture in Nigeria

2. Boko Haram, with their RPGs and other sophisticated weapons can easily shoot down the plane. And remember that our fighter pilots have not seen war for a long time.
It has almost certainly crashed but shot down with unguided ordnance, RPG, AA guns is just impossible.
Christianity Etc › Re: The Truth About Christ Embassy Healing School by Reference(m): 2:25pm On Sep 14, 2014
Sir John. Christianiy is not magic, it is not mystical. It is about faith and relationship. Your report says Pastor Chris was your role model, now he is this, he did that, this happened, that did not happen, the church, the healing school, etc No where did you mention Jesus Christ, not even God.

If I may ask, to whom do you seek these things, where was your confidence placed, who do you follow after, where does your faith lie...because God can see all. I repeat again. No man has a right to promise what he cannot deliver. Pastor Chris CANNOT HEAL YOU. It is YOUR FAITH in the God that YOU KNOW that heals, protects and prospers you. Pastor Chris is just to 'lead you down the aisle to marry'.

If I was an American citizen pursued by the Nigerian government and I fled to the American embassy in Lagos for refuge, my faith lies not in the embassy staff but in the 'flag'. If the flag has a policy that says no then I am done even if the ambassador is my husband or wife. If he/she does otherwise his job is gone.

The bible makes it clear. 'No man can come unto the Father (God) except through me (Jesus)...' not pastor Chris or anyone else. Re order your relationships. I admit that certain pastors donot say it as it should be. They inadvertently covert too much attention to themselves and so stifle the faith of their followers. This is wrong.

There is a problem I hope can be addressed in the future. The structure of the modern church system and its attendant challenges. The in thing these days is mega churches, mega gatherings that are outstripping the competencies of church administration.

Right from old testament times God directed 'divisions' into tribes as a safe and progressive way for multiplication not clustering and 'additions'. Typically a tree grows big and over time sheds weight naturally.

Jesus had administrative challenges that finally brought a close to His ministry. The early church had growth challenges and it persists till this day.

I don't think church size is the ultimate way to go. Rather than gather, gather and retain. Churches should be full fledged 'service' centre to cater for the 'needy', not for those already 'repaired', 'restored' and 'rehabilitated'. These should move on and go into service, opening their own service centres. Pastors should build the faith of men up and release them to become 'full fledged' fishers of men. With this the gospel spreads faster and the era of mega churches with so much risk ends.

I'm sorry this is where I have issues with Synagogue. There is not enough teaching, grounding of the believer in things of the Spirit, too much bread (miracles) no meat (word of life) to make men mature and 'leave home'.

Truckpusher: My brother it is poverty, lack of proper education and exposure and unfortunately most educated folks amongst them will keep quiet and run along with the herd mentality less they should be looked down on as unbelievers.

This is one reason I refused to step into any church in this my life.
How can one comfortably stay in a house where some of the things they preach and coerce their members to indulge in defies simple human logic?
Sometimes I walk into a church and I hear these so -called men of God lie blatantly before everyone I feel like grabbing him and punch him into comma ,but again the moment you do that they'd attribute everything to the devil and begin their deliverance on you immediately grin
So rich and educated people don't have accidents, they don't have questionable judgement atimes, they don't cut corners and are stunned by the outcome, they don't make excuses and appear inconsiderate in response to their perceived failings. According to you it is only in church and with church members that these happen. But how come I also see professors, CEO's, generals, senators attend 'church' with me. There is definitely something wrong with us.

No matter where you stand in life you will always find one better and another worse than you. This is so to make sure you are neither regretful or conceited.

DaBullIT: Bro , that's a reasonable question he asked, you did not have to castigate him for demanding proof, afterall We are in Nigeria , where pensions disappear and people give out weapons to insurgents and top politicians keep terrorists in Government house,

Abuja car park bomb , we saw the burnt cars , houses, damaged properties and people , Army can't stop people living in villages from taking photos , why hasnt any real photo surfaced
The pictures you saw in Abuja were taken by ordinary people. No army goes into battle with cameras. Battles are serious business. Soldiers optimise equipment. They tend to carry offensive, defensive and survival equipment. What you saw represents a response to overwhelming requests for proofs (silly requests if you ask me) and army high command must have ordered for pictures LONG after the battles had ended so you won't see bodies as they will have been processed, arms and ammunition gathered. If you want battle scene photos apply to DHQ, get a permit, get your body armour and follow the scouting team that patrols everyday. Sooner or later you will make contact.

To convince you of what. If you are an adult male I'm totally disappointed. It is women who speak like this. The territory of Nigerian belongs to every citizen of this country and it is our collective responsibility to defend it. It is irritating for a man to question the abilities of another man to protect his own land when the protectors are fighting and dying in the process. There is freedom of movement in Nigeria. Go there if you doubt but stop running your defenders down.

mcfarlin: Blasphemy in what sensehuh

Refusing to be deceived by pastorpreneurs

All those claiming to heal the blind, lame, deaf, dumb in self organized crusades where outcomes can be doctored??

All those who did miracles in the bible went about doing good, jesus and his apostles easily come to mind.

If you want people to accept your miracles as authentic why not go to places like SABO in ibadan and heal those malams with a plethora of diseases and afflictions?.

THINKING alone will expose the fraudulent nature of these charlatans.
You need to read and understand the bible more. What you refer to Jesus doing is what is called a modern day crusade. Crusades are similar to tours. The minister moves from town or city to another preaching the Word FIRST and important and then healing the sick by the power of the Holy Spirit who confirms it by signs and wonders (results).

Preaching is critical because faith comes by hearing the Word and the Holy Spirit seeks faith in a man's heart to latch on. So it is God that heals not man. Infact the pastor has the least role to play. He is just to preach and lay hands. The receiver MUST have faith for performance. That is why the bible says of Jesus that He did not perform many miracles at a certain place because He didn't find much faith there.

The truth is that you are more likely to find faith in a congregation than on the streets because minds of people who COME to God are more prepared to receive it. It hasn't much to do with the preacher. Christianity is a FAITH, not a religion and certainly not magic that depends on the skill of the conjurer.

No man has the power to heal anyone of anything except the Word works through him. So don't look at any pastor for performance. People have been healed just listening to the Word on radio, by reading faith building materials and even touching anointed materials. The spark that ignites the miracle is faith.

He exists and is love. And His love is demonstrated in two exceptional gifts no man can ever match. He created us free moral beings with no inhibitions to thoughts, speech, acts and mannerism and He offered up His only begotten Son Jesus as a price for our redemption. There's no greater love than that.

Going back to the OP it still remains to be seen how men and women garner equal liability for equal crime whether by law or within the society. Yes poster, what has Solange Knowles lost as a result of her act as compared to JayZ if the tables were turned. There are tons of influential women out there in business, industry, politics, sports, the performing arts, etc and a number behave badly. How many do you see go down in a blaze of glory, hardly any. The society remains heavily skewed in favour of women when it comes to liabilities. That's a fact.
Family › Re: Violence: Again The Double Standards by Reference(m): 7:03am On Sep 12, 2014
BluIvy: Solange was wrong, she showcased her ghetto character and how she carries herself, while Beyonce showed a more matured and different character.

That alone should tell you people choose how they want to behave or react to something. So did Jay, respond in his own character which has saved him his fortune and bad undeserved publicity. He became the hero of the day. I guess he thought he would not reason like a poor man, he knows his worth he also knows its not worth it.

I know people expected Jay to knock Solange out, to show he is the man, he on the other side did not need
such validation, he knows who and what he is. He also knew, ona one on one fight with Solange he would probably kill her with one punch. No question about it.

Well on verbal abuse, i think naija man can stand their own verbally as I have experienced on nl but the problem is you quickly get angry and want to slap because in your up bringing someone told you a woman must never talk back to you. Its in your head not out there, you deal with head wiring you'll be okay. No one dies of deflated ego.
That is not what he is saying. What he means is that gender equality means Solange gets the rap, loses her wealth, gets kicked off her job, does time, whatever. That's equality. You get equal punishment by the law and society. All you did was to call Solange a ghetto girl then turned on JayZ with all the praises for not reacting. That to me is tacit protection of the female folk. Equality means Rice gets called a ghetto dude and we thank his wife for not reacting and we all go home happy. Nothing happened to Solange. Equality means nothing should happen to Rice.

coogar: with this analogy of yours - you are implying a man is the soldier and the woman is the little boy, right?

well, if women agree they are little earthlings to men then a man won't hit back - however, women are saying they are of equal standing with men.

with that in mind, there's a disconnect between your analogy & the relationship between men & women.
That's what am saying. How do you square this circle. Heads you lose, tails you lose.
Family › Re: Violence: Again The Double Standards by Reference(m): 8:05pm On Sep 11, 2014
I think the arguments here are not on the same track and I can see the fault lines between those speaking about 'the tendency' of women to be violent and the 'capacity', the ability to be violent. I must admit that in terms of ability women lag behind. Yes a lady and a pro footballer are no match in fisticuffs but is that what the law says. Is that what the equi-gender movement tries to project or are men simply saying that women are equally liable to violence but may just have fewer dramatic options. They may not be able to knock me out but they could so, so easily sprinkle plutonium 235 on my scrambled eggs and send me to heaven. I still feel both men and women can and are equally mean and the law should not just zero in on pugilism.

Floodgater: i also wonder too. When they know that a woman's hit can never be compared to a man's. Yes we all know she did wrong. I dont know if it has been considered that women has natural fear thus tend to know where to draw the line esp. With loved ones unlike a man who would beat as though he is beating a fellow man. Is it to proove to men that they are gender unbias that they will come back and tell men it is ok to beat their women if she hit first after telling them it is a no no to beating women. If you look at the other thread you will see women started applauding Ray Rice when men where against his act before the men started following suit. I am still wondering if they can still confidently say it was ok to hit back had the woman died.
What if the man died too. What will you say.

Chillisauce: Double standards indeed.
The same set of people shouting don't hit first will be same folks hitting on their kids, housemaid etc.

If you condone the Mr Rice hitting back then you are as good as supporting violence.

When a violence is done, using violence to solve it makes it a circle.
When you are hit, it's better you move away from the situation than hitting back.

Get away from the source of problem esp humans than eradicating it.

Lol at self defense, you call that knockout blow self defense?
So why didn't she 'walk away' when he offended her first. Why hit or will you deny that she 'hit'. Ladies and the spirit of entitlement. Never ever considering the consequences. We can say what we want, act how we please, wear what we like and even eat the fruit of knowlege of good and evil. Who's God to challenge that.
