Honestly I just feel that violence by women in Nigeria is treated with kids gloves. I've visited households where these minors are visciously abused even in full view of visitors and in one of those cases the lady complains of husband maltreatment. Sad. |
About to land...suddenly took to the air again. 'Complete family' as though there are 'incomplete families'. Is this the report of a journalist or an I-Report presented verbatim. Very poor. |
texazzpete: There's no guarantee the man doesn't have money stashed elsewhere.Oh Tex stop it. A house is the most important non living investment the average man can make anywhere in the world because it has critical social implications. Not saying it is an immediate and pressing priority (I would rather spend on the means of making liquid resources) but a car(jeep) and house are apples and oranges. |
Archmed: Nice one OP.Engaging in d above only make one a laughing stock among comity of friends. The irony of life is such dat telling friends d goodies in ur relationshp infuriates dem,buh d bad stuffs make dem happy(buh dey pretend to care)'Unwrapping the goodies infuriates them'....'lamentations of Jeremiah is music to their ears....'comity' of FRIENDS!!!?<!*^>¿!!! Dang!!. Sounds rather like a comity of Philistines to me. |
OMORIHI: I totally disagree wit all dis 'don't talk' lesson.Although I do not say u xpose ur spouse but then relationships usually get to a point at times where u must share ur feelings with a confidant otherwise u may end up at a psychiatric hosp.sorry to be so blunt anyway but it is the fact. Then talk to the damn psychiatrist. Except all your friends are shrinks. |
babyosisi: Isn't this the same woman he chased his wife of many years away to marryMost women hardly see this when they are girls. Like you said, it is when their 'a.s.s-ets' begin to depreciate wisdom takes hold. |
Balkan: Thank God it was not Keshi that took them to Jordan.Sure. If it was Joshua. They would have crossed. |
I have a headline suggestion for our colourless journalists - 'Baptism of fire for the home based Eagles at the River Jordan' or better, ' Without Moses Eagles can not cross the Jordan'. |
Corrupt, indolent civil servant who hoped to continue milking the system at our expense. So you can imagine what kind of havoc he would have caused in NEPA. Little wonder public services are as shambolic as his messed up mentals. Good riddance at 50. Your mates are hard working engineers somewhere building and running things. The kind of money paid to these guys put together can buy or build a new power station if those rogues have the IQ to see the future before their very eyes. |
Well for you diasporans battle on. Personally I can't see how the comments of a man nearly 12,000 miles away can warrant my critical attention. His problem with Obama is an American thing. We have our issues here to contend with. |
But they can find 90 milla to regrass stadium pitch. Keshi you're in the wrong job. Oya wey ya hoe and matchete. |
Funny speech from ppl who always roll out tanks and e-artillery whenever someone asks how tinubu is a trillionnaire in nigeria today after two terms as governor. Very few yorubas can shake off their primordial instincts to say their leader must be corrupt to own a newspaper started with 3 billion, an airline, oil interests, construction. Also the N1 billion spent on tinubu's birthday whose money was it? Or u don't think that was stealing?
No, they will tell you it is a regional matter and not involving federal funds yet they will be quick to condemn Ibori and DSP. The truth is that we have to tackle the structure first before all these anti-corruption king-konging so that the speck be removed first. The guns are drawn. Hang your own crooks today so that other 'regions' can learn how to hang theirs and not just say 'oh, we didn't vote them in Ondo because they are shady. Are there no courts, no magistrates in Lagos. Who has come before them. They are leaders in infrastructure building, leaders in good governance. Why not be leaders inthe hangman's noose. Its the structure 'stupid' (sorry Bill). Good morning folks. |
But we have made efforts to clean our house , the party of thiefs and killers PDP of which GEJ is the head makes it difficult, if you have seen where Yoruba people curse dimeji Bankole you would fear. His name has been changed to Bank-ole( bank-thief) May I remind you the greatest betrayal in Nigerian history till this day happened in 1966 when Igbo officers spared their own and killed everyone else. We all have learned since then, till this day the Igbo are not trusted and the closest they have come to power in Nigeria is a SS man with Azikiwe middle name.
Okay, I give up. Its late in Nigeria perhaps not by US time if you're there. Can continue tom. if I can find the time. |
Forget prosecution we all know Tinubu is dodgy but his day will soon come. Did you not see how ondo people rejected him last year, oyo has changed party from AD to PDP to ACN since 1999, same goes for ekiti and Ogun. So please what do you mean political arrangement?
Of course his day will come but why demand of another party, another region what has not been demonstrated in any way, shape or form. This I think is the crux of this whole argument. That to make proper anti-corruption there must be honest introspection first and a level playing field. You sincerely cannot expect the opposition to sacrifice his pawns while you keep yours. I fully understand and appreciate this western renaissance in everything that makes for development and good living but to forget that you were also a part of the mess of the past is hard to take. Some may see it as a revival, a new birth. Others will see it as just running away from your shadow, the reality. Yes, there is a greater awareness but believe me. Beyond that nothing has changed yet. |
0lumide: Uhh? Fayose? All these people you are quoting are present or past PDP. The party in opposition as far as the west is concerned today. But stop for once and consider that in 14 years in Lagos and far fewer in other states that not one person has served one day in prison for corruption. Can you confidently say that there has not been one single case of corruption under the present power arrangement in the west because I know for a fact that it is hard to turn on your own. Is every politician down there richer, level or poorer (with mass Nigeria) than he was in 1999. And please don't say lack of evidence for obvious reasons - circular argument. |
Aarenaija: Na their turn. Make them chop Naija finish. Morally bankrupt people. But why are ya all howling now. Said it at the turn of this Presidency that to restructure this country everyone needs to have shot at power, engorge on it, choke on its benefits and be repelled by its foul taste. The Presidency as far as the south is concerned is demystified. The perception there is that other regions are just jealous cos they've had their turn at screwing the prom queen. At least the north doesn't hide the fact that it wants one more round. What does the west want. C'mon. You've had your turn. What's all these new found squeaky clean image, when its clear and history recalls you guys have done your part in messing up this country. By the way its not as if there are hundreds of public servants and poolitical office holders in western court docks awaiting sentencing. So where is the postulating coming from. When I was growing up one thing I hated about church fasting programs was this: only the priest knew when he would declare one and of course eat properly and prepare well I thought. The rest of us the congregation will be caught unawares and oft had it tougher. Let other regions, let the minorities feed fat as well on the national cake. When it has gone round then we can declare a fast. Not before. It is not fair. |
0lumide: give an example of a serving Yoruba public office holder defended on corrupt practices../Hmm. But give one, just one past or serving public officer prosecuted and/or convicted under the new power arrangement in the west. Excuse me sir, but the car with which you pursue has no engine oil in it. Or are we assuming for a split second everything there is squeaky clean. Gosh, I just love what the GEJ government is doing to this country. The pace of change (transformation) is simply bewildering. |
Kairoseki77: No. You are lying to yourself.Hmm. |
Kairoseki77: We have no one to blame for corruption but ourselves.Ouch. He, he, ha, ha. Hmm. Sweet n sour. |
DrDapcee: My family has multiple properties earmarked for demolition on this road… the income from these properties sustain the big family. The future is bleak. We have done nothing wrong. We have c/o. we made adequate clearance for future road expansion as adviced by our architect. Some of the houses date back 20yrs in age. All going down. …Honestly feel your pain. May God help you peoples. Please remain law abiding. |

omenka: And if Jonathan should reason along this line, and perhaps other successive regimes, when should our leaders start thinking "the better for Nigeria" and not "the better for me"?? Don't we have any shred of patriotism left in us anymore?? |
omenka: And if Jonathan should reason along this line, and perhaps other successive regimes, when should our leaders start thinking "the better for Nigeria" and not "the better for me"?? Don't we have any shred of patriotism left in us anymore??When you look at the formation of modern societies you find a common thread running through them. A group of common puritan ideologists, the people that say enough is enough, destiny changers, the brains, the crucible of societal change that birth revolutions of whatever kinds, whether loud and bloody or whether silent and resilient. There have been intellectuals, academia, military, middle-class, judiciary, students, peasants, zealots and so on. These groupings have shaped the destinies of nations, they have stood apart. They have said no. They have rallied for change and became agents of national rebirth. In Nigeria, is there ANYTHING positive that more than 1 ONE citizen of this country can agree to prosecute selflessly. Everyone has a pet sin. An achilles heel, a don't touch area, a black hole that sucks out all morality and humanity and makes it impossible to find light. If there is anything like white magic then the British spell on us takes the cake because our problems are beyond understanding. |
omenka: Just imagine!!! Imagine someone like this poster being made the president of this country!! Today, nothing that relates to public office is being viewed without putting on some ethno-religious glasses over the eyes! The Brits put that simple equation in play at independence. Today its grown so complex you need the best Los Alamos has to offer to compute a way out. |
omenka: Nigerians.... SMH.. Can we for once discuss issues without mentioning North, South, East, West, Housa, Yoruba, Igbo, Aboki, Muslims or ChristiansSo you can all see that the problem in Nigeria is structure not corruption. Sort that out and gain a platform for development. Kick the can again and continue the downward spiral. This country CANNOT move forward. |
simpleseyi: It is impossible because the governors are busy LOOTING. Two South-South governors bought private gets with the people's money. Ex-militant Government Tompolo just bought a private jet recently. Asari Dokuboh has built private University in Benin Republic. Mrs. Dezaini Allison-Madueke has a private jet too, Stella Oduah is busy acquiring the latest automobiles. Jonathan has 10 presidential jets. How will they be able to build infrastructures? On the one hand you claim to offer suggestions but discredit others in line. Are you sincere or sincerely mocking. This is too obvious nau. |
The only thing that makes sense to me is the call for cross board population reduction and that's where the education of the girl child and the empowerment of women is critical to national development. However the 'appointment' of women to one or two posts here and there even if it is the presidency won't do anything to change a 'system'', build an institution or change the national psyche. Madam Iweala is the head of the Economy, the former Minister of Education is a woman, so was the former anti-corruption czar and the present Judge of Judges. The current lightning rod in this present government Ms Oduah is a woman. The results past and present are as mixed and as mean as the men folk. |
The amount of scammers in this country is as a result of unemployment. Truly, I've seen this first hand. I got a call yesterday from an old school mate, asking if can I think of any idea that will make 1million people pay 100naira each. I asked, do you want to sell something, he said NO. He just wants a way to make people contribute 100million naira for him. This is a guy that has been job hunting for a year now. If he was in the office, I don't see how 100million naira contribution will be his problem. As long as the youths are still greatly unemployed 'Nigerian scammers' will continue to spam our mail boxes.
So why didn't you give him the '100 million' since you perhaps are 'working' somewhere. |
SexyLadyJ: Oh boy! No be small run oooo.......Handbag?!*¿~@?. Is it now a market place or discount store. Thought it was.... forget it. |
Lil vicky: Every tin is back to normal,every1 is back to there various offices. Now am totally lost. Thought this was a museum. Now it is an office complex. What next a Pizza joint. |
Mister Dan: Are the refineries working or they as just there as historical museums...i get am before na storyAnd someone claims to be on Industrial training there... as a curator I suppose. |
bigboy3: This country is a joke....the leaders are jokers.....the people sef no dey okay. Oduah , coscharis and all involved should be probed. That is what civilised societies do.Coscharis will simply look for the next MDA to entice. Glossy brochures carried by page 3 girls. Government needs to close its eyes tight to these products of decadence. |

Haba! This is becoming nauseating.
