Jus noticed that a lot of comments flow along the lines of financial investments. But Nigerians invest or mis-invest in a number of other money pits on a daily basis under the watch of 'professional consultants'.

Its a jungle out there so my 'portfolio' contains more than just papers. As a matter of fact it resembles what the early explorers to new continents carried: map, compass, anti-malaria potions and spare rhino bullets.

Believe me, they have kept me alive in this country as paper investments have answered their name - paper.
Investment › Re: Managing Your Investments Yourself Or By A Professional, Which Is Better? by Reference(m): 11:24am On Jul 13, 2013
My short reply to this: Professional service providers are always the best route to qualitative delivery because of knowledge, skill and form, which no other person or organisation CAN have.

However the almighty 'NIGERIAN FACTOR' more than often makes a mess of the best competencies. So what I advice in all investments whether financial, R.E. agric, transport, corporate, personal, etc.

If you can and by all means just take out the rods, reels and BAIT and go fishing. Never the boat and fishing net. Be patient and build relationships. Know their strengths and weaknesses before evolving strategies to exploit them for your good. NEVER bet your house. ALWAYS read the small print.

NB. The most despicable lying, cheating, snake-eyed b.ast.ard may also be the best for you at that time and in your circumstance. It just depends on how you handle him, her, them or it.

howfarwhatagwan: From the comments I'm confused are Nigerians celebrating that he has been discharged and acquitted or what?

If he carried out orders to murder someone then he is an accomplice to murder and should not be acquitted. If one is arguing that his sentence to death for being an accomplice is too much of a verdict it is a different matter oh but that someone was an accomplice to murder and people are saying he only followed orders so should be acquitted must be a joke oh. If that is how the law works then we can all get away with anything.

Oh my beloved country I am lost oh I don't understand our ways anymore let alone our thoughts.
Just put it this way. If MKO died to create the democracy we practice, that is the election of the Executive and our representatives then will it be far fetched to say Kudirat died to establish the third, unelected arm of government, the Judiciary.

Will it not have been fantastic if this landmark case had been the tonic to reinvigorate a near comatose criminal justice system.

But we know things don't work like that in Nigeria. What we prefer is shock treatment to get things going. So if this ruling hurts perhaps its time for all concerned to focus for the much needed judicial/law enforcement reforms that will be worth her sacrifice.

2legit2qwt: I still can't believe some people actually have reasons to back a runaway husband undecided

Even if we are to assume the scenario that the woman is the cause of the problem, a man running away from his home for weeks or months will not fix the issues in his relationship.
That is the only way I know people respond to abuse whether man or woman. The man uses his fists, the lady uses her tongue. They destroy the body from the outside and inside respectively. Both are dangerous situations and any party involved should walk away..
Family › Re: Dad Begs For Forgiveness For Defiling His Daughters. by Reference(m): 6:28am On Jul 12, 2013
Real men love their daughters very dearly. It is the purest form of love a man can have for another human being. They see in them what even their wives are not, free of every infatuation.

Unfortunately this person is not what a man should be. He is a monster. Daughters should feel safe, comfortable and confident around their fathers. He abused their bodies and souls and damned them to eternal torment. He has no place on this earth.

For that couple, that's why barreness can atimes be a good thing. When a couple has waited a decade before a child comes they tend to value them better. Where children are percusors to marraige, used as bargaining chips, outcomes like these are expected.
Family › Re: My Husband Is Always Running by Reference(m): 12:40am On Jul 12, 2013
The devil is in the unstated details but one thing for sure couples are increasingly walking out of abusive relationships. And yes, the party who desires reconciliation often has the better benefits, or put bluntly, is often the abuser.

In this case, the lady in question has gone to great lengths to 'explain up' what the husband is doing while giving little or no info on her responses. 'mild to heavy arguments' sounds like explaining away.

Speaking as a man, women should understand that men will increasingly walk out of marraiges no matter what society thinks. If there is abuse some men will leave. Why it surprises some is the mystery. They are simply catching up.

If there were 'mild to heavy arguments in a home and the woman leaves for months, very few will back the abuser. What is different.

collynzo2: Oliseh is so bitter! When you read his comments you'd think we had some players dominating the UEFA champions league last season that Keshi left out. What's all this talk about home based players? Those who disappointed us at the confed cup were foreign based. Gambo made his debut in the last few minutes of a match we had already lost, you can't blame hom for anything.
Ideye
Ujah
Babatunde
Akpala
Musa (to an extent)

Wise one. He doesn't realise he's making a circular argument. The quality of foreign based has equally fallen. The Westerhof cycle is long gone. Keshi is trying to ignite a new one.

What are we talking about. Is the high population not as a result of industrialization and commercial activities from which the state government attracts huge allocations from the centre and generates huge incomes from taxes. If the population goes so will the revenue. Lagos has no natural resources other than its population. What is happening like the case with Nigeria in general is a paucity of ideas on how to exploit this resource. Those calling for population reduction are unknowingly making the state more dependent on federal funds. Can this be a good thing in the long run, I think not.

Ishilove: Ya mind is dirty undecided
Honestly, I don't know when and where this sordid sub-culture started. Hard wired in the minds of those who patronize black industries. I travel a lot within the country and you can't escape the danger within the minds of the perps and public. So sad. The hotel owner should have been more pro-active in rejecting the patronage of the arrested robber. See the trouble he has brought on himself. And this is why I continue to emphasize that the private sector and the service industry in general cannot continue to pretend it is not involved in corruption and crime. If you are patronized by robbers, embezzlers, kidnappers or whatever selling them services, be it banking, real estate, insurance, medical, ICT, security, even doing their damn laundry, you can get burnt badly and in this case even loose your life. Corruption is real, avoid it.

Though we often assume it is a product of psychological disorder, bedwetting may be the result of more serious issues, anything from nerve, muscular or hormonal disorders that may be progressive or latent. I suggest you see a doctor asap for a thorough evaluation. Obviously something somewhere in your body isn't growing with the rest, isn't growing at all or is growing amiss. Check up.

Why are bathroom and kitchen windows in Nigeria always microscopic in size (as small as two feet square) when this is the tropics - serious heat and humidity, irregular electricity - often dark (not good for effective cleaning) and poor ventilation to rid them of sewage odours or kitchen fumes.

Pally widen your window wall to wall or raise the apex to the ceiling and get rid of that ugly burglar proofing and get perspex so that the light can come through and with it the beauty of your tiles.

Amelian: My lovely aunt, of 45yrs died through heart seizure when taking her bath, due to series of heart aches and abusive words are husband hurled at her.. This is a man , she loved so much , as in..she virtually gives him , all her salary every end of month. He will collect it, give her stipends and keep the rest for. Himself, saying he is using it to manage the home, until he married another wife into their home. Completely neglected her with her 4 children.. She always cry to my mum, complaining ...my mum will be like, for Godsake leave this man , come to Lagos. I and my husband will set u up in any biz , u wish to do. But she will say, what will her friends and society think of her if she leaves him...that the shame of being a divorcee is too much for her to handle.. And she wants to be there for her kids and fight for her right in the house... Last yr , she slumped when taking her bath and died, just like that.. Her husband is still married to the second lady, all her kids av left their dad to go search for a better life in other neighboring states... Her two sons hates, their dad like crazy.. One of his son wanted to beat his dad up, when he learnt of his mum's death, if not for timely intervention of neighbors ...all her kids swore never to be there for their dad in his time of need and in old age .... sad...
What a huge loss, cry...my aunts is one amiable pretty woman ,with a large heart, but unfortunately married the wrong man. sad
And do you know how many men who don't believe in divorce and neither have a heart for polygamy have developed dibilitating illnesses and died primarily because of their wives. My dear, abuse goes both ways and most on both sides are guilty. The all too common assumption in relationships is that men are devils and women are saints. If so why do girls often fear their MIL. And what do you call the often tempestous relationship.

I think when you've finally tasted power after a long period of starvation do not grab it with both hands but leave one hand to shake those benovalent enough to let you taste it. If it applied to OBJ perhaps he will have done more. If it applied to GEJ perhaps they would have let him alone in peace. But for those knocking on the door perhaps in time to come this lesson will matter most.

He was in an Offside position initially and then came back onside but still per my understanding of the rules cannot be the first to receive the ball from his teammate right? Or am I misunderstanding the rule here, please educate me. Thanks
As long as you return in line with the last defender before the pass is made. Neymar did this.
