No wonder my Airtel line has stopped performing. Called CS and they said I should try again next season. What does that mean.

And its good to publicize such moves to prove to doubters that Nigeria may be tough but it is certainly viable. And it will only get better as infrastructure improves then the bus of investment will have left leaving the fickle fingers saying how did P&G do it. How did they become a monopoly. Maybe they play party politics. We have seen them aplenty.

bodejohn: Guys,
Procter & Gamble is a private and multinational company, there is nothing like abandoning the project.
If you care to know, the project is no longer a plan, the contract has been awarded to Julius Berger and recruitment of staffs has already begun.
Don't mind them. Trauma causes a lot of damage.

omosexy1: When people say fashola is working, I ask how? Show me facts, show me proof, how is Lagos working? Did fashola generate jobs in Lagos (I don't think so apart from the useless corrupt LASTMA). Did fashola provide water in your house (I don't think so, people have boreholes). Did fashola provide you with a home (that na long thing, even federal government cannot achieve that), Did fashola reduce traffic in Lagos (hmmmm, he open traffic radio, what a gimmick). Did fashola take out the so many diseases in the state (hoodlums, tanker drivers, bus drivers, okada riders, tricycles riders) no he did not do that because, the disease generate money for him. Fashola's specialty is road construction, not only him, all governors that is their specialty. When I scream that our politicians and leaders are not visionary, people no dey hear. Lagos used to be better back in the days and I can vividly say at this rate Lagos in 2012 will be better than Lagos in 2013 or 2015. I have never seen a mad city like this Lagos before, where people abandon pedestrian bridge and start strolling along EXPRESS ROAD (Jesus). Where people decide not to take a shop and move their wares to the road and even the local government and state government turn a blind eye to that disease outbreak, before you know you have a market on the ROAD. A city where traffic wardens do not assist drivers but pray incessantly that drivers break traffic rules or make mistake. A city where people abandon safety precautions, jump on top of okada and start traveling to Ogun state on express road. WHAT A MAD PLACE. Everywhere in Lagos is a ghetto, V.I, Ikoyi, VGC, Lekki are typical middle class ghettos like the type in Jo'Burg and Cape Town.
These are pseudo cultural things you point out not necessarily issues of leadership or governance. Fashola can change Lagos not Lagosians.

Nothing new or worth commenting about. The GEJ Presidency has set the cat amongst the pidgeons and that's why the helter skelter. Nigeria is going through profound structural changes and can never be the same again. Those that thought they had it all for eternity now meet eyeball to eyeball with those who never knew they could.

That is politics and this is how to lay the foundations for development. No one will ever take the other for granted again.
Family › Re: Cultural Differences Matters A Lot In Marriage? by Reference(m): 11:14am On Jun 26, 2012
Double edged sword. Resistance can either build or break depending on the severity of the tests or the strength of the characters involved.

Generally multicultural relationships that last tend to produce stronger and more liberal characters.

650 and counting. Almost 7,000 since consolidation started. The manpower ejected together with their severence packages are enough to start a new, well capitalized bank. Well only if things worked that way.

PHIPEX: I've witnessed it but I don't blame the madman but the Motorists that obey him without complaining. Nigerians can be so funny, everybody will just sitback in their car right inside the holdup and wait for God to take the madman away and make the road free for a good ride. A road that leads to the busiest airport in West Africa for that matter?
So who causes the hold up. The insane traffic cop or the sane motorists. A snapshot of Nigeria today.
Politics › Re: A Madman Controls Traffic At Toyota/ladipo Bus Stop In Lagos by Reference(m): 9:47am On Jun 26, 2012
Just thinking. I wonder what class of people will obey him. Doctors of the law or the eternally disorderly danfo drivers.

That's what you get when you play for penalties. Didn't they watch France. Clearly this tournament favours the brave. They should have played their game. Poor tactics. Once again poor coaching.

Foreign Affairs › Re: Egypt Has A New President: Mohamed Morsi by Reference(m): 6:41pm On Jun 24, 2012
frosbel: absolutely.

These people will never learn, look at Iran, Saudi, Iraq , Afghanistan where there is total chaos because of these 'terrorists'.

Mind you , this is party that birthed Osama Bin Laden and the Taliban.

The middle east will never be the same again !!!
The people have spoken so they should rally round and support him. If he leads them astray they will kick him out. That's how democracy works. If people are concerned about his roots they should blame Mubarak. He had thirty years to build institutions to ensure plurality, equality, the respect for the rule of law and most importantly a broad based constitution, instead he made himself the institution that obviously ages and is near death.

It is strong institutions not strong men. Lesson for Nigerians who seek a messiah to save them from their own ills.

Lexoria: Jus like some women can not deal with their men being away for sometime. As I type,my hubby is on a business trip which will last for 3weeks(and thats mild compared to women who's hubby's are takin 3months or more) but I won't go off looking for d next hot guy to bleep. If it was a guy, that'll be another xcuse for him to bleep d housegirl. We should all learn to control our sex-drives not let it control us.Even my hubby says he's tired when he's had a rough day and I put myself in his shoes and understand, thats d way it should for both parties.
You're both just stretching your elastic. Don't work on your marraige and keep excusing each other. You'll be back with another tale. If you place your career as number one don't expect less cos when the dust settles it is your careers that will be left standing. You can't sow apples and reap oranges. It is the circle most women will always like to square. The truth is that men have more options. Men protect themselves and what they want while women leave it to others to protect them and live in perpetual assumption. Women wake up.

boomii: The deed has bin done. I would not advise she leaves her job cos the husband is not worth it. The maid shud get her apartment and life goes on as usual. Shikena!
The husband is not worth it is the reason for the problem in the first instance. Quit chasing your tail. People pay attention to what is potentially dangerous. That is wisdom. The man that allowed his wife live in Abuja alone with male househelp, male driver and male maiguard is equally telling tales.
Romance › Re: I Impregnated Our Maid Because My Banker Wife Was Never Around. by Reference(m): 9:47am On Jun 24, 2012
Oluesther: Will the husband give her all the money she needs, if she stays at home? She has to work to get money to support the family.
So which family is she supporting now. Talk about cart before horse, supply before structure and the inate love of money by Nigerians. Money doesn't make a marraige and the savage career/survival battles being fought are inimical to any relationship thoughtless of marraige. The man's case is a small one. If she had children won't there be a worse case of child neglect and abuse. Life remains a balance and those who succeed in it find the right one.

I understand but we need to see new faces and fresh play. This tippy tap play is growing stale. Today's game was quite frankly dour. Let's have teams who play expansive attacking football like Germany or England for a change or we risk having bus parking instead.
