I sometimes wonder why the constitution is silent on allocating some kind of formal role to Deputy state executives beyond being an appendage and waiting on the governor's favour. For the amount these "Deputies" draw or expect to draw from the public coffers, they should be better engaged in delivering service to the people, beyond acting as "Governor's in waiting." If indeed Mr Adesegun's office is starved of funds and perks like he claims, the Governor needs to redress the situation immediately. But 30,000 naira on diesel daily That is a lot of diesel man |
The PDP is between the rock and a hard place on this matter. It is an absolute catch 22 situation. It will take a lot of political maneuvering to force Tambuwal out of that position and even for the almighty PDP, that is a very daunting task to accomplish between now and the end of this current political dispensation. What is worse is that unlike how Obasanjo rendered Atiku redundant during their dispensation, the position of Speaker of the House of Reps cannot be so treated. Short of killing the man, I think the PDP is going to have to eat the humble pie of defeat on this one. |
karlmax2:Bros the guy has tried now! At least he has posted 2 pictures to back up his claim. You self back up your own FG "projects" with pictures to shut the naysayers up!!! Even if they are "photoshopped" photos of the VIP Toilet and the Fence, we will manage it. ![]() Bros to tell you the truth, your attempt to counter Amaechi's claim by starting this thread was dead on arrival. To be sincere, I find it hard to believe that the FG has no footprints in Rivers State in the area of development as claimed by Amaechi. But honestly, this your thread is doing the man no good. If this list is all that the FG has been able to offer Rivers People in the last 6 years of Jonathan's government, then he has grossly failed the people of that State. |
Did I see "VIP Toilet" on that list ![]() ![]() |
anonimi:Oga you are someone whose opinions I respect even though we rarely see things from the same perspective. You strike me as someone who has a decent measure of intelligence and love for the progress of this nation. But views like the one above premised on this whole APC vs PDP impasse do your reputation no good. There are simply some issues that are clear cut and should not be viewed through lenses tinted by party affiliations. There is ABSOLUTELY no reason for that minister to have remained in office after the recruitment debacle and the President should have forced him to resign if he failed to take the initiative. If the "SINators and representaTHIEVES" as you called them fail to exercise their oversight, how about our President on whose table the buck stops ![]() Incidentally, contrary to your post, I googled and found the link below which proves that the senate caucus of the "Arewa People's Congress" as you choose to call them, issued a statement calling for the resignation of the minister at the time. Rather than the minister taking the opportunity to be on air to console and condole and even show remorse for the demise of the unfortunate citizens, he was grandstanding and talking about "fixing the mess he created " Who does such anywhere in the world? |
anonimi:Exactly!!! The hurry to milk every marginal development for political gain has always been the bane of laudable policies. It is a good policy and I hope it is not allowed to die a natural death after the elections are won and lost in 2015. |
What is the idea behind posting a story about an event that happened in 2005 as if it happened over the weekend ![]() |
I dont think this statement is a recent one. I think this was a statement issued prior to the 2011 elections or so. Asari's more recent position is that Jonathan must not only run for a 2nd term, but must be allowed to win it because it is his right to have 2 terms in office regardless of his poor performance in office during his first term. |
fr3do:Oh c'mon!!! Stop talking kak already!!! You are still shamelessly holding onto your bigoted view after several forumites have tried to enlighten you. You are just as guilty as the northerners you are accusing of having an Islamic agenda if after all these posts, you are still not convinced that your earlier position is a misguided one. |
franklyn009:So an Imam at a naming ceremony prayed for the bolded to happen and you just jumped to the conclusion that ALL MUSLIMS are desperate for a muslim President? ![]() Well, I don't plan to vote for Jonathan in the next elections...and I am Christian. Secret agenda my big black arss!!! ![]() |
I always suspected that there was something fishy about the whole Linda Ikeji/Google/Aydee drama. It is now becoming obvious that it was a calculated ploy to bring this "Aydee" character to the limelight and then use him to gain political mileage. Naija politics...never short of drama ![]() |
Errrrr. ...So OP, your argument is: it is better to stay single and continue to fornicate than to get married and be guilty of adultery ![]() For an article premised on the Christian vow of marriage, methinks your article is wrongly couched. |
masterpower:You on the other hand apparently have an agenda to "CHRISTIANISE" Nigeria right? With your post above, how are you any different from the people you so harshly castigate? |
anonimi:I totally agree with you. |
TRUTHTELA:Plagiarism is a serious offense and it really does not matter whose intellectual property is been cited or copied. Once you do not get permission or credit the source, you are guilty of intellectual property theft. In some countries, you could get a long jail term for that. There is no sentiment involved here and unlike you, I am actually a huge fan of her blog and her success story. But she is really lucky all she got was having her blog shut down. It could have been worse. She can bounce back from this...but I hope she has learnt her lessons albeit the hard way. Goodluck to her. |
Linda made a lot of mistakes in the running of her business and I hope she learns from them when she returns. I wish her luck. |
Very courageous ruling from the Judge. |
Neither of those traits in a woman is better....Both can drive you to an early grave. |
Can this man just shut up with all these harebrained excuses ALREADY!!! It would really help if he just shows some remorse and sympathises with the families of the victims rather than continually making himself the centre of attention. He seems to me to be milking this extremely sad tragedy to gain more notoriety internationally. Enough of this macabre PR drive abeg!!! the government needs to call him to order. |
Israel does not currently have any Chinook helicopter on its inventory. I also checked on the internet and discovered that Israel has NEVER operated that aircraft. So how come our government is claiming that the US blocked their planned purchase of a Chinook chopper from a country that has never owned or operated one ![]() |
OP, this is obviously an old picture taken before SLS became emir. |
That is my State of origin...cursed with one bad leader after another since creation. What a shame. |
Well, at least this time they did not blame it on the opposition. |
musiwa95: why would anyone want to buy weapon.Errrr...do you know anywhere weapons are been offered for free ![]() |
I mentioned it to someone yesterday that there has been absolutely no mention of the pilots of the missing jet. Weird. |
folawiyoma: And you want me to vote for him base on that alone. Convince me more starting from what he does for a living and his financial contribution and I swear to God if you can give me this two answers, I will vote for him. Until then Gej till 2019 . The devil I no is better than buhari I don't know. I will be waiting for you ans. What does GEJ do for a living outside been President? |
Ikengawo: no confusion. There's no doubt Buhari is one of the richest men in Africa. The question is how did he gain that wealth if he was 'president' for such a short time? How big was Nigeria's GDP at the time that a common general would be able to field federal elections for the next 30 years, and drive bullet proof cars in 2014. Didn't Benjamin Adekunle that came from the exact same army die in poverty? I understand Buhari's rank was higher but how much higher? ![]() |
noblezone: Does anybody know what Buhari does for a living? Are you sure we shouldn't be asking a similar question of your patron, our President? He more, seeing that he is still in public office ![]() As to your question, I do not know what Buhari does for a living. But I think it is safe to say that a man of his caliber can NEVER lack anything given the way our country operates. As to funding an electoral campaign, I do not think that championing the formation of a political party and running for Presidency on its platform naturally translates to been its sponsor. The APC has a lot of wealthy people in it who can pool together quite an extraordinary war chest to fund the party's activities. For instance, the alleged leading Boko Haram sponsor and our President's new bestie, Ali Modu Sheriff, was in the APC until recently. He is rumored to be one of the wealthiest men north of the River Niger. Now imagine how many people of similar standing there are in the APC and ask yourself if funding an electoral campaign or making a private jet available to the party's presidential candidate would be a problem. |
Wow...the way that structure went down like a pack of cards though I think the chopper repeatedly flying so close to the structure definitely had an impact....but then that would mean that the structure itself wasn't so well put together. RIP to the dead. |
rickkid: Cry me a river, Mr internet shill. FYI the real propaganda legwork in our neck of the woods is the radio, not the internet. You can write as much rubbish as you want, it just won't work.Oh so because I do not share your opinion, I am now a paid boko haram propagandist? Such a child ![]() I see you are seriously phishing for someone to engage in your puerile back and forth. I am not he that you seek. Good luck on finding them |
rickkid: Lol and it's a foreigner pretending to be a Yoruba man who loves the "innocent Nigerians" so much that he decides to "tell their stories" while the war is still on and the situation is still delicate? It is you who is naive my friend. I do not think it matters who tells the story. While our local journalists are depending on press releases from Defence HQ and reporting news about the crisis in the northeast from their studios in Lagos and Abuja, foreign journalists are going into crises spots and bringing you videos and live reports. We have heard a lot about the exploits of our gallant soldiers in the Northeast. If these foreigners do not let us know the other aspects of the war, how will we know? You should experience the torment of an average citizen in one of the troubled areas who is daily caught in the crossfire between the insurgents and federal troops...then maybe you wont be so smug in your demeanour. |
