privaldo:All of these threats are empty and unnecessary in my opinion. If the government truly has an insidious agenda towards Kukah, only God can save him...but only if God truly sent him to deliver that message. Buhari has not uttered a word in response since Kukah delivered his scathing criticism on Christmas day and has made no moves whatsoever that warrant these threats. This is not the first time he has criticized this government openly. As far as we know, No one is after his life so if his conscience is clear and he believes he did not speak amiss in his Christmas homily and only delivered the message that God sent him to deliver to the nation, then let him hold his peace, rest easy and watch God fight for him. After all, God often sent the prophets of old to deliver unpleasant messages to the Kings of old and God himself would make a way of escape for the prophets from the King's wrath after delivering the hard message. Woe unto the one that God has sent to deliver a message that refuses to deliver it. Woe also to the one that God did not send to deliver a message but stands on the altar of God in his priestly office to claim "thus saith the Lord". |
valentineuwakwe:Seems there are a lot of people that are very upset about the fact that these boys were released and returned to their parents. The question I would like to ask this bitter woman Aishetu and others like her is that if one of their kids was among those kidnapped boys, would it really matter to them even if it is Shekau himself that helped government negotiate their release? The truth is that a lot of these "NGHoes and Hacktivists" were preparing to build an entire industry around these kidnap saga like they did with the Chibok girls. The early rescue totally burst their balloons |
ChoCho54:He should just put in for a discharge and leave in peace because his career is effectively over. |
tot:No it nullifies NOTHING. The fact that you told me an initial lie doesn't mean I should discountenance every other proof that is before my eyes. Yes! The army and government must be held accountable. But ONLY FOR CRIMES THEY HAVE COMMITTED and not for things that so far appear to be a figment of people's imagination. If people were killed by the Army at the Lekki toll gate, at least let the families of the deceased come forward and prove their case. You cannot send people to jail on the basis of sentiment. EOD! |
tot:Yes! Granted the Army initially denied they were at the toll gate. This question was put to the General during the sitting and he explained that at that time, the Army authorities did not have full information of what had happened. That as far as I am concerned is a shitty excuse I must say. But moving on beyond that, the fact that there are inconsistencies in the government and Army's position doesn't vitiate the fact that there are equally gaping holes and inconsistencies on the narratives around the protest. I know that we are eager to nail the army and the government but all i am saying is, let us do so on the basis of fair and logical evidence and rational thinking. The CNN report has not shown any proof of the accusations and apart from social media trials and judgements, there is no court anywhere that will convict anyone based on the evidences we have seen so far. |
Houstency:That is flawed logic. That is like me standing in the market place and calling you a thief. Would it be fair on you if I call you a thief without proof and when you complain, I ask you to show proof that you are not a thief? Even the legal system recognises that semper necessitas probandi incumbit ei qui agit which means that the burden of proof rest with the accuser. Will you say in all good conscience that CNN and all of the other accusers of the Nigerian Army and government have shown proof beyond reasonable doubt of their accusation against the army? We have been hearing of a massacre for over a month now and we are yet to have any of the families of the deceased come forward? CNN said they had spoken to over 100 people but all they have to show are the same cut and join videos that have been circulating on social media for a while now? Now the same CNN that did not have a single correspondent at the venue of the protest now has a report that is better than BBC that had reporters covering the protest and stated clearly that the soldiers fired shots into the air. Our reasoning on this matter defies logic to be sincere. |
lalasticlala:I am yet to see what is so explosive about this cut and join CNN report in all honesty. I watched the panel sitting where the Army general clearly said soldiers were given both blank and live ammo but the firing party only fired blanks. How is that at variance with Lai Mohammed's statement that soldiers only fired blanks? What is so confusing about the fact that soldiers had 2 types of bullets but used only one kind of bullet? Seems to me like we are allowing our hate for Lai Muhammed, Buhari and the government to crowd our sense of logical reasoning and we are refusing to see the gaping holes in the CNN report. |
Nato008:I do not know what Lai Mohammed said and frankly I do not care because most of the time, the guy talks a lot of nonsense. I am not implying anything. The inferences you make from my post are yours and you are entitled to them. I was only reiterating the fact that the LASG did not say NO ONE DIED during the protest but according to them, soldiers did not kill anyone at the Lekki tollgate. The dispute has always been about what happened at the tollgate on 20.10.20. |
primestreams:Of course, a lot of people were killed. Protesters, rioters and looters, and even policemen were killed across various parts of the country. What the government is disputing is the claim that soldiers killed people at the Lekki toll gate. |
Gift52:I watched the video for about 5 minutes and really it isn't a bad looking house. The first concern I spotted is that the exterior is quite cramped. For a 1 billion naira house, I would expect a more spacious exterior with lots of space possibly with very good horticultural landscaping. Apart from the front where you have a bit of space, hardly any on the sides. In some places, you can almost touch the fence from the side door. Secondly, for a 1 billion naira house, I would expect central air conditioning rather than have those AC outdoor unit defacing the exterior. An intelligent climate-controlled central air conditioning system should be able to fit comfortably into that 1 billion naira budget. |
allwell51:I hope we get to hear the woman's side of the story before the cyber lynching begins. |
creolehunt:Sadly, there is nothing that can be done to remedy this situation. If the recruitment exercise was targeted internally at employees that are already within the system, the manager had no business recommending your brother for the job seeing he is now an external candidate. From your own post, you stated that your brother had resigned sometime back. Infact, if it is the company I currently work for, that manager will face very stiff disciplinary actions and could even be sacked because what he did will be considered a breach of his integrity. The HR person that facilitaed the process will also be sanctioned severely for not ensuring due diligence of the process before sending out the letter of employment. Your brother will need to try elsewhere. |
Spent 3 nights here in February and it has been one of the highlights of my year because it was shortly after that that Covid came and everywhere got locked down! I went with my team from the office for our yearly strategic retreat and I must say it was a great experience. The entire facility was clean and the air was pure. Members of staff were very courteous and polite and the food was good. They have an averagely good DJ and the fish pepper soup and palmwine was cool. I don't know much about the cost because it was all paid for by my company ![]() The only down side for me was the trip to and fro because of the distance and the fact that the access road to Epe was in very very poor state at the time. Roads within the town itself were very good though. |
post=95658051:It has not gotten to INEC yet. The constituents still have to send in a recall request to INEC which is why they are currently collating signatures. Frankly speaking, to recall a state or federal representative is not child's play. I don't really see anything coming out of this because the process is really REALLY long and tedious. By the time the process runs its course, she probably will be done with her tenure. What this will do however is that it will act as a caution to this representative to watch her steps going forward. It could also act as a way of ensuring she doesn't get re-elected in the next election. |
[quote author=KingAzubuike post=95474928]Desmond Elliot, 46 was blasted on Twitter for referring to the Nigerian youths as "Children". Desmond who is a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing the Surulere constituency constantly called Nigerian youths "children" during a session concerning the social media regulation bill. Watch the video below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7o5XyZiDFE all of these insults and dragging on Hon. Desmond Elliot is about him calling people children and not necessarily of the value of his message? Such brittle and fragile egos all over the place. Acting like petulant children and then getting upset when someone calls them that ![]() There is a mini-tyrant inside each and everyone of us that simply can't tolerate someone having a different perspective from ours. Otherwise, how do you explain all of the cyberbullying for anyone that dares express a divergent opinion? We are just as bad as our leaders. Or put better, we deserve the kind of leaders we have because we are no different from them. You can go ahead and insult me all you like. |
The price of a lot of things will skyrocket over the next few weeks and maybe months because of the carnage we witnessed through out last week. A lot of food bearing trucks from different parts of the country were caught up in the melee and either destroyed or went bad. Now most of the drivers and truck owners are afraid of making the trip down south for fear of been mobbed, robbed and even killed. Even the price of meat will soon blow out of proportion for the same reason. It will take a while for things to return to normal. I hope this will be a wake up call to each state governor to develop the agricultural sector within their states to check the trend of food scarcity whenever there is a crisis like this one. |
2 things I am sure of: 1. FFK was not part of that meeting. 2. FFK does not have access to OBJ and could therefore not have been privy to what OBJ told Buhari. Conclusion: FFK is a bloody clout chaser. |
3Ceagle:Agberos can break in and loot. An agbero can even be behind the attack on policemen and police stations. But I strongly doubt an agbero will break into the Oba's palace and wreck it with the sort of hate and viciousness that we all saw. Please tell me what an agbero's business with the court at Igbosere is, and why a historic monument like that was razed to the ground. These were well coordinated attacks on these places. The truth will come out some day. |
SLAP44:The North had NOTHING to do with this. Leave them to gloat if they are actually doing that. Perhaps that will help the BASTARDS that did this to realise their folly. |
“So when you see standing in the holy place 'the abomination that causes desolation,’ spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand..." Matthew 24:15 |
Benin people cheered as over 1000 prisoners broke out of the prisons and blended with the crowds outside to make their getaway. Benin people cheered as boys gathered at various locations in breach of the curfew to defy the government. Benin people cheered as police stations were been destroyed by angry youths. Now Benin people will have to cope with their "august visitors" whenever they come calling. Since policemen have now become endangered species, they have all gone into hiding to avoid angry mobs. The one in my area in Lagos has been deserted since on sunday to avoid the "peaceful protesters". They simply released all the guys they had in their holding cells and faded into the wind. Benin people and neighboring states and villages should begin to organise local militias to protect their neighborhoods because they are about to witness an unprecedented spike in violent crime. God help us all. |
Unfollow the President's twitter handle to what effect? The man tell una say em know wetin be twitter? You think he is Donald Trump or Obama? Beyond the feel good factor of reducing the number of followers, what exactly is the effect of this #UnfollowBuhari campaign? Mtchewww!! |
Bagehot:That's the very point I was trying to make. The conveners of these protests must understand that when you convene a mass action, you attract people of different personalities, temperaments and agenda and things can spiral out of control really fast. That was why Tuface pulled out of the planned protest last year. It wasn't about his own personal safety. The police aren't going to shoot at him. But how about the other faceless Nigerians that will hit the street along with him? Can he guarantee their safety? I hope the conveners are powerful enough to influence their fellow protesters to follow through and maintain the peaceful outlook of the mass actions. If they don't, things are going to go out of control and a lot of innocent people are going to get seriously hurt or even killed. |
Shebi dem don dey carry gun dey kill ekelebe unto "peaceful protest" and e dey sweet una for body and una dey hail dem now. I hope say when ekelebe dem begin use teargas and live bullet discharge "peaceful protesters" we no go hear cry or see plenty hashtags. People wey dey organise protest suppose fit control protesters. 2 wrongs don't make a right o! As e be so, e don set. Tomorrow go red gaan! |
Kingproy:Why don't you simply avoid the guava like you have been warned to, so as to avoid stories that touch the heart? Must you eat guava? If you really crave it, why don't you take your money and buy yourself some from the market place? Shebi dem dey tell you with koro koro eyes now you no wan hear abi? Until dem go begin appear to you Patience Ozokwor style naim ya eyes go clear! A word is enough for the wise. |
Rossinky:Whats with all the insults man? How in the world did you arrive at this warped conclusion that I am joining foreigners to bash my country?!!! So some random woman goes on an uninformed and ignorant rant on social media about my country and I am supposed to feel bad because of that? Naaaah! She is too inconsequential and I am am too comfortable and secure in my "Nigerianess" to be moved by such inanity. All I tried to do with my post was to ask Nigerians to be as passionate and proud of their country as this woman was about hers, and defend it passionately when necessary. As stupid as it was for her to trash talk a country she had never even visited, I am actually impressed by her sense of patriotism in rising to the defense of her President and country. That's all I was trying to say. By the way, you come across like an averagely intelligent person. May I advise that you refrain from letting your emotions cloud your thoughts so much that you begin to insult faceless people online. Even when you disagree with an expressed opinion, learn to disagree in a civil manner and avoid unnecessary conflicts. Take care. |
As hurtful as it is to hear a black American speak so condescendingly about her motherland, I will have to say it serves that driver right. I wish Nigerians were this passionate and patriotic about their country. An average American might not like Trump or his policies. But you dare not talk smack about their country. They know that Presidents will come and go but the land will remain for generations to come so they will not stand foe anyone denigrating their land. For us Nigerians we take delight in joining foreigners to bash and rubbish our country. This silly Nigerian uber guy probably thought Americans are like we Nigerians. |
Hate to rain on anyone's parade. But...this most likely isn't an OG Patek Nautilus. First off, that box its in definitely isn't a Patek Nautilus box. Secondly, Patek's are rarely ever easily gotten off the shelf. The waiting list on the average, runs forward a number of years. To get one from an authorised dealer in a quick deal, you are gonna need to fork out atleast twice its regular cost. Alternatively, you could pick one off the black market and risk buying a fake, or an OG one that cost an arm and a leg. You could also possibly get a second hand one either from an authorised dealer or on the black market...that one will still cost you a pile of cheddar. The only logical way that this Ozo's gift is the real deal is if its a gift from a wealthy patron in which case it would be a 2nd hand one. Having said that though, this replica may still be a good one that may cost some good money. Congratulations to Ozo. |
donaldeke:With the way FFK is going about viciously attacking Precious' reputation using people like this witch call Kemi Olunloyo, I am starting to believe the claims by Precious' sister that she went through great physical and mental abuse while married to FFK. FFK's poor mental health is common knowledge to everyone. His erratic behaviour has been a subject of public discourse for decades, the most recent been his deranged outburst during a press conference recently. His sojourn in a drug rehab centre in Ghana is also public knowledge. We are also aware he has been married a number of times and all of those marriages packed up within 4 years on each occassion. Were those women also suffering from mental issues? This narrative of Precious' mental health being pushed by notorious bloggers like this sick woman called Kemi Olunloyo is obviously a hack job sponsored by FFK. With FFKs history and reputation with women, it is unfortunate that another woman, attrated by the allure of being married to a wealthy and powerful man, will soon end up married to him and we will be hearing these same sob stories a few years from now. |
AnonPoet:For some like this fellow, INEC is only fair in situations where the PDP emerges victorious in the elections. |
Osagyefo98:This is one of the traitors that rallied against their party just to settle personal scores. Nigerian politicians are mostly charlatans. In other places, politicians rally around an ideology. So you find for instance in the US, that a politician that is a republican today actually springs from a long line of republicans. His children after him and his own descendants most likely will also be republican. That politician could at some point find himself out of favour within the party. What you would never find is that republican politician running down his party and offering support to the democrats...under any condition. In Nigeria, most politicians rally around money and power. Shame, integrity, honour and loyalty are virtues that are in extremely short supply within the Nigerian political circle. That's why you find politicians cross carpeting at the drop of a hat. Parties are established on principles and a central ideology. Every member of the party submits to the supremacy of the party. No individual or bloc should be larger than the party. But not so in Nigeria. It's either an individual wants to impose their will on the party or a bloc leverage their influence or their financial war chest to polarise the party and tear it apart from the inside out. It happened with the PDP. It is happening with the APC as we speak. It might interest you to know that it is the same power bloc that moves from one party to the other, disrupting the internal peace and harmony to suit their insidious personal agenda. We have now had two president's in succession that have shown nothing more than a passive interest in their party's affairs and so these 5th columnists have had their way. President Jonathan allowed the Governor's forum guys led by Saraki, ruin things for him within the PDP and that cost him a second term. President Buhari is allowing the same renegade governor's forum led by Fayemi, Obaseki, Amaechi and the likes to run rings around him. People like Oshiomole and Tinubu that stand for party supremacy and discipline have been demonised and stripped of influence because they lack the support of the President who has chosen to be passive. It has cost the APC Edo State and it might cost them Ondo as well. It most likely will cost them the 2023 central elections because right now, the rallying call is BUHARI! Once he is done with his term in 2023, he will retire to his farm and the APC will probably just fall apart. The party has systematically stripped all of its influential people of their powers. There may be no one to hold the party together by 2023. |
