Politics / Re: Promise Not To Arrest Nnamdi Kanu If He Comes Home, Ezeife Tells FG by Reptyle(m): 1:07pm On Nov 09, 2019
hisexcellency34:
A former governor of Anambra State, Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife, has appealed to the Federal Government to allow Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) come to Nigeria for his late mother’s funeral.

Speaking in a chat with Daily Independent, Ezeife said the government should also make a promise not to harass or arrest Kanu throughout his stay in the country until he leaves.

Ezeife who said the death of a mother is very painful said he is happy that a lot of people have been calling on the government to allow Kanu come home.

https://www.independent.ng/allow-nnamdi-kanu-travel-to-nigeria-for-his-mothers-burial-ezeife-tells-fg/

This is a very silly request.

Mr. Kanu is been tried for a plethora of offences. He was granted bail and he jumped bail by fleeing Nigeria to another country. There is currently an APB out on him because he is a fugitive from law.

What exactly then is Chief Ezeife pleading for? Is he asking the security agencies to look away while a fugitive from law moves around freely in Nigeria?

IN NIGERIA

Even if it has happened in other countries, you won't hear or read about it anywhere.

Do you know why?

It is because the media and people in those countries are more concerned with relevant issues that affect their lives...like the actual content of the bill that is being signed into law, rather than on the location where the law was signed.

Has the President broken any law or breached the constitution by signing the bill outside Nigeria? The answer is NO!!! Case closed.
Politics / Re: Tinubu Speaks As Abba Kyari Takes Bill To Buhari In London by Reptyle(m): 9:52am On Nov 06, 2019
TITOPE:
Bola Tinubu, National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for signing the Deep Offshore Act in London.

Tinubu also commended the president’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari for traveling to London to present the bill to Buhari for assent.

However, Tinubu said the signing of the bill was a pointer to the fact that Buhari was determined to reform the country’s economy.

A statement he signed titled “The Coming Prosperity,” reads: “WITH the action by the National Assembly to improve the outdated Deep Offshore Act through legislative amendment, Nigeria has turned an important corner. As stated in his insightful, forward-looking commentary published in ThisDay…Presidential Chief of Staff Abba Kyari rightfully asserted the financial provisions of the old law had outlived their stated purpose. Continuation with this outmoded financial regime enriched the oil companies while depriving Nigeria of a fair bargain.

“Billions of dollars that should have landed in our national coffers to fund public infrastructure and essential social services instead found residence in the balance sheets of the oil firms.

“This was no attempt to deprive the oil majors. We want the firms to make a just profit for their efforts; however, they have been receiving a surplus at the expense of our minimal developmental needs. This is not as things should be.

“The companies are Nigeria’s long-term business partners and we have no interest in denigrating them; all we seek is a fair, equitable relationship. The new amendments provide this.

“The amendments demonstrate the important progress to be made when the National Assembly and the Presidency work in harmony for the collective good. Efforts by past governments to amend the law got bogged in failure due to the intervention of special interests.

“This time, finally, the national interests were considered weightier than the special interests of a few. President Buhari and the National Assembly leadership should be commended for this singular achievement.

“Chief of Staff Kyari titled his commentary “Toward a New Deal for Nigeria.” This is appropriate and more than symbolic. The title recalls a challenging time in the history of the United States. That nation was in the throes of economic contraction.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu

“The people would vote to remove the austere, insensitive party that had governed the nation for over a decade simply by catering to the wealthy. The people voted for a compassionate, progressive government headed by a committed principled leader to steer the nation out of danger. No two historical situations are identical. But, there are important similarities between our circumstance and the challenges America faced during that period.

“Faced with steep economic challenges, the administration of Franklin Roosevelt dedicated itself to reforming the economy in order to bring prosperity to a hurt and struggling population.

“In so doing, he would reform, at times reinvent, the nation’s economic institutions and laws. This would change the relationship between the average citizen and the American government for the better. This was the essence of the New Deal.

“Such beneficial reform is what the Buhari government seeks but in a more complex and challenging environment. The American challenge was exclusively economic. The Nigerian challenge is multi-faceted.

“President Buhari first had to tackle insecurity and the terrorism of Boko Haram. He then had to throttle corruption in official circles so that government could be responsive to the people’s needs instead of serving those who enriched themselves from government coffers.

“He had to grapple and make headway with these fundamental problems before shifting primary focus on economic reform. As the title of Chief of Staff Kyari’s composition indicate, we now move toward a New Deal for Nigeria.

“President Buhari is intent on reforming the economy that it may answer the needs of the majority of our people. Establishing the Economic Council of Advisers (EAC) was an innovative, bold step, assembling our nation’s top economic minds to shape economic programmes and policy. Along with his ministers and other officials, the EAC will offer the president their best professional advice on how to improve all aspects of the economy and government’s role in it.

“The amended Deep Offshore Act is not an isolated, solitary act. It is a harbinger.Just as the amended Act brings to the oil sector overdue reform that will benefit national development, the Buhari administration will take a critical look at all major segments of the economy.

“It will do so with an eye to reforming what needs to be reformed and improving what needs to be improved. Just as the oil sector has been made better, all other sectors of the economy will be strengthened.

“The end result will be an economy transformed into one that provides hope, opportunity and meaningful livelihoods for all.

“Indeed, we move toward a New Deal for Nigeria.”

http://www.titopeblog.com/2019/11/tinubu-speaks-as-abba-kyari-takes-bill.html

This really should be the crux of the discussion around the new law that was passed. Rather, we are pre-occupied with the unnecessary ruckus around the political correctness of the COS taking documents for the President's sign-off to London.

In Nigeria, we enjoy majoring in the minors. We relegate strategic conversations that will determine and shape our future as a nation and elevate issues that have no bearing on the wellbeing of our nation-state. It is a shame that almost every article or analysis that has been penned about this bill has focused largely on the political correctness of the President's decision not to hand over to the Vice President or the fact that the law was signed in London. Hardly any focus on the actual content and import of the new law and its implication.

I'm glad that Mr. Tinubu hasn't allowed himself to be dragged into the needless controversy.

https://punchng.com/sans-dismiss-apc-lawmakers-claim-that-cos-is-more-powerful-than-vp/amp

These SANs are obviously reading from a textbook. Of course, everyone knows that the Vice President is the Number 2 citizen de jure. That is provided by the constitution. But Akin Alabi did not quote the constitution in stating what is an obvious fact in any Presidential system all over the world: THE PRESIDENT'S CHIEF OF STAFF IS USUALLY MORE POWERFUL AND MORE POLITICALLY RELEVANT THAN THE VICE PRESIDENT.

The position of COS isn't recognised by the constitution. So trying to ascribe any constitutional powers to the office or the order of protocol is in itself an aberration. An examination of the office of COS can only be relevant when seen and discussed as what it truly is. It is a "kitchen cabinet role", draws all of its power directly from the President and can be anything and as powerful as the President wants it to be. The first time the office was created in Nigeria was under President Obasanjo in 1999.

The COS is appointed by the President and serves purely at THE PLEASURE OF THE PRESIDENT. He can be appointed in the morning and fired in the evening by the President without recourse to any officially laid down procedure. In fact, most Chiefs of Staff have very short tenures because they are prone to falling out with their principals quite easily in the course of discharging one of their major functions - telling the President some blunt and hard truths that nobody else will dare to.

In the US, the President's COS is often described in political circles as "the most powerful man in Washington" and "the second most powerful person in the Whitehouse"...after the President. Now, these appellations aren't written anywhere on a protocol handbook or in any constitution. It is just generally known that as a member of the political class, you don't want to make an enemy of the COS.

Well, the video I watched was from the North, they were speaking Hausa and all, each okada was carrying about 5 bags of rice, and there were many of them, the video lasted for about 1 minute. I can't say or think for other borders, I'm talking based on what I watched.

I know that video. It's been making the rounds on social media for a while. Long before the border closure. But no doubt, it is still happening across all of the country's land borders.

KEVIND:
Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Abiodun Ige Adams, has urged the Federal government to fix the Lagos – Badagry road, saying such move will boost the Nigerian economy and further expose the tourism potentials of Badagry as a whole.

Speaking during the 2019 edition of the Olokun Festival in Badagry, Adams expressed worry over the closure of the Nigeria – Benin border, insisting that the closure of the border was suspicious, with huge implications on the entire Southwest.

“The road leading to Badagry town and its environs are in deplorable stage and nobody even cares. For the past seven years, this town had been abandoned with little facilities I have said it severally that this road is bad.

The road has become death traps for commuters plying the road daily. For instance, traveling between Badagry and Mile 2 has always been an unpleasant experience these days.

Imagine the kind of impression this would have on foreigners and tourists coming through west African coast to Badagry”,he said.

The Yoruba leader, also lamented that the closure of the border will definitely affect the people in the South than any other regions.

“It is unfortunate that the Nigeria – Benin border had to be shut, however, the closure seems suspicious to me because the borders in the North still operate conveniently without anybody blinking an eye. This portends grave danger to us as a people because the economic implications of the border closure will largely affect us more in the southwest than any other regions.

He, however, urged the Federal government, to as a matter of urgency, re-open the border and make sure that the necessary arrangements are made to forestall illegal smuggling of rice and other valuables into the country.

” We can reduce the unlawful smuggling of rice and other items into the country. It involves proper planning and documentation from the Nigerian government and the officials, including the Immigrations and the Customs must be up and doing in ensuring that the law is effective.”
Iba Gani Adams also appealed to the southwest governors to join him in projecting the cultural identity of the Yoruba race to the world

His words, :” Through cultural festivals such as this, we can gradually begin to change the narratives. We can begin to project the image of our country positively to the world. Therefore, I am making a clarion call to all Yoruba sons and daughters to continually promote the policy thrust and development agenda of the OFF
“Together we must build our tourism potentials and provide opportunities for our people to explore the world, using cultural tourism as template for growth and development. It is also very important for all the governors in all the states in the southwest to invest in education and agriculture, in order to ensure quality education and food security.

“Our governors should also provide enabling environment for the creation of a bustling tourism sector that would see the southwest states becoming the nation’s destination of choice, and ensure the full exploitations of our mineral resources for wealth creation.”,he explained.

Akran of Badagry, Oba De-Wheno Aholu (OFR), in his remarks, said despite the fact that the Badagry has a rich history, both the state and the Federal government have abandoned the town with no formidable facilities, lamenting that the road leading to the town had been left unattended to.

“Our road is bad. And I am not happy with the situation of the road. Coming to Badagry now is a hell, because people spend hours before getting to this place. As the royal father of this town, I am using this opportunity to appeal to the government to help fix this road so that Nigerians and other tourists could have access to Badagry”

“Let me also appreciate Iba Gani Abiodun Ige Adams, and all members of the Oodua Peoples Congress(OPC) and the Olokun Festival Foundation for sustaining this festival for the past 18 years. They have done well for us as a race. And I think they deserve to be honoured and appreciated”,he said.

Meanwhile, the Guest lecturer, Professor Oladele Orimogunje, from the Department of Linguistic, University of Lagos, praised the efforts of the Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland and the chief promoter of the festivals, Iba Gani Adams for championing the cause, and promoting the Yoruba culture and tradition, adding that such effort will definitely enrich the minds of the young generation of people about the various beliefs and traditions of the Yoruba race.

He said there should be adequate provision of social services like basic education and healthcare to Nigerians, stressing that Nigeria must embrace the idea of a knowledge economy, where quality education is cheap and affordable to all and sundry.

“What we needed most at this moment is a knowledge economy, where quality education is cheap and affordable to all and sundry. A situation whereby a large number of our youths are unemployed and a few of them that are working are doing so under a very precarious condition is bad”

“Our leaders must be proactive in the way they handle sensitive business of governance, because unless the ruling class commits public resources to public need, the future of the Nigerian youths is bleak” he said.

Prominent guests present at the event, include the Jagun of Oyo,Chief Ayoade Adewuyi, Parakoyi Aareonakakanfo of Yorubaland,Prof Raheem Kolawole,Osi Aareonakakanfo of Yorubaland Chief Gani Kayode Balogun,Africa Union coordinator of the Oodua Progressive Union (OPU) Mr Segun Ogunpitan,Fiwagboye of Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Chief Ebudola Odedina, Oba Abdul Wahab Adio Ogunji, Papayiketa from Benin Republic, Oba Abdul Lateef Olagoke, the Onilala of Lanlate land. Others are Oba Oluyemisi Oyeyemi, Alado of Ado Awaye, Oyo state, Chief Oyegbemile Adelodun, Basorun of Iseyin land,Oba Alabi Ademola, Onikoyi of Oyuidiah, Benin Republic, and Chief Sulaimon Olanrewaju, the Akiisi of Iseyin land among others.

https://www.independent.ng/borders-in-the-north-still-operating-gani-adams/

I can authoritatively confirm that the borders in the north are also closed.

This is how influential people like this man heat up the polity unduly and further polarise the country by circulating false information.

All land borders into Nigeria are shut. However, there are some smuggling activities mostly facilitated by customs officers and other law enforcement agents. Same with the borders in the South.

Family / Re: My Husband Always Tells Me To Leave His House During Quarrel by Reptyle(m): 8:52am On Oct 14, 2019
Zhuhilat:
How Do I Deal With This Level Of Disrespect From My Husband

Dear all

I and my husband are just 2years in marriage.

Every time we have issues concerning anything, he is always telling me to pack my things and leave his house or he will say things like you are off no importance to me and you bring me no value and stuff and stuff. But after a while he will apologize and say he doesn’t mean it.

Last month, what caused our fight was because my mum sent some food stuffs to us because she traveled and got them cheaply. He was angry because he felt that was disrespectful. And the argument degenerated to him telling me to leave his house,

i got tired, called his bluff and left the house but everyone advised me to go back and make it work., well except my dad. Mind you, this was the 5th time.

On my return, we talked about it(like we always do) and i thought it was genuine, and i said i was going to give it one more try.

Today, we had an argument because of baby food. I told hime to buy on his way back. I couldn’t go out because the whole road was terribly flooded .

But he didn't buy it, and that lead to an argument. And the next thing he told me was to fuc.k off and leave. Or he is leaving. As a matter of fact, he just left the house now 12:00am.

I am actually tired of it all. and right now, i don't think i have any love left for him or this marriage.
I think he is cheating on me and for some reason i am beginning to look outside and crave attention, love and respect from someone else.

I don't want my child to grow up seeing me treated like this but most importantly , i don't want her to think it is okay to accept being disrespected and under valued like this.

Married people is this one of the challenges in marriage or what?

Why cant we have an argument that doesn’t lead to leave my house, i dont need you, you bring me no value and all

Also we are very very comfortable, i work and he works too.

Emotionally, i am done.

So sorry to hear what you are facing.

Speaking from experience, I would say hang in there...it will all work out eventually.

I have come to realise that for most couples, the first 3 years is very challenging...especially for the men. It is that period of transition where the man is still trying to adjust to the fact that he is no longer single and he has to stop living selfishly.

It is also the period where the woman is all caught up in the emotional roller coaster of having a man she can call her own and doing her best to assert herself as the first lady...the only woman in his life.

I got married quite young and if anyone had told me that my marriage would survive the first three years, I would have doubted it. During that period, my house was a constant battlefield.

In spite of all of the upheavals, one thing was clear to both of us...we loved each other so we determined never to give up on the marriage.

Thankfully we made it past those turbulent days. It has been 12 years and I am grateful for how far we have come. My wife and I look back on those days now and we make jokes about them.

A few nuggets for you:

1. Don't stop communicating. If you have to quarrel, do so. But don't stop talking.

2. Always try to resolve conflicts swiftly. The longer it stays, the more it festers. My wife and I used to keep malice to the point that we wouldn't even remember what started the fight cheesy

3. Never move out of the house. Except if there is a threat of physical abuse, please stay and work things out. Running away from conflict doesn't resolve an issue.

4. Never insist on your "right". I know this runs contrary to everything the world preaches these days. But it works, trust me. When you got married, you basically handed the controls of your life to your husband and you took control of his. It doesn't necessarily take 2 heads to build a home. It only takes one good head. It is a painful and sacrificial process and everyone is going to call you foolish for seemingly bending over backwards to accommodate your husband's shortcomings. But I don't think it is too much of a sacrifice to make for a lifetime of peace in your home.

5. As much as possible, avoid outward interference in your home. The issues in your home aren't peculiar. But you and your husband are going to need to figure out the peculiar solutions to the issues. What works for one home might not work for another. If you must get advise, please look for someone older...not your parents. Most parents react emotionally and sentimentally in situations like this and end up misdirecting their children. Perhaps you can consider your religious leader (pastor, imam, etc) or an uncle or aunt who can look at the issue objectively and have the courage to counsel you right.

6. Determine and resolve within yourself that divorce isn't an option. I came to realise that the moment I struck divorce off my list of possible options, I became more pragmatic and determined to work things out with my wife. When you create an escape door, the tendency is that you will use it in the midst of a conflict.

7. Keep your marriage fresh. Create opportunities for fun. Help your husband understand that he isn't "trapped" just because he married you. Take him out; go clubbing with him now and then; dress hot and have crazy sex now and then. Invite "the boys" over once in a while and play hostess. Don't push them away, pull them in.

8. Become friends with your in-laws....especially your mother-in-law. Win over her affections with gifts and attention. Her goodwill towards you will be indispensable. If your husband sends you out of the house and you decide to leave, don't go to your parent's house...go to his parent's house. Sounds crazy, but this was one of the ways my wife won my family's support against me. grin grin

These are some of the general principles that worked (and still work) for me. Above all, be patient. It always works out in the end. Good luck!

The OAPs were having what they thought was a private banter. They did nothing wrong in my opinion. The wrong one is the snitch that leaked the video to the public. If that video wasn't recorded and leaked, the conversation would have just passed as a round of harmless gossip and life would have continued.

Tiwa Savage and other celebrities are slandered daily on social media. What's the difference between that and what these OAPs did really?

Cut the ladies some slack. We all have opinions about others, especially celebrities, and we all air them when we are talking to people we consider friends. Some like to call it gossip. But it is what it is.

Beyond the usual mischievous newspaper headline,I don't see anything wrong with the COAS statement.

The only reason why Boko Haram has continued to thrive is the potency of their ideology. It really doesn't matter how many terrorists killed by the Army on the battle field. More terrorists will continue to be recruited until the Boko Haram ideology is defeated. Such a battle isn't won on the conventional battlefield but in the battlefield of the mind...which is why the COAS called it "spiritual warfare".

The said statement was issued at a seminar organised by the Nigerian Army Chaplaincy. (Directorate of religious affairs) which is an apt audience for that kind of statement.

Nigerian newspaper publishers know for a fact that most of us do not read beyond headlines so they keep coming up with these silly headlines.

I wish there could be a course called "How to Plan and Organise a Peaceful Protest" taught in schools, especially higher institutions. Perhaps it can form part of the GNS or GST courses every student is exposed to in the early part of their university days. Our Nigerian anti-riot also need to be exposed to a similar course but this time should focus on how to prevent a protest from becoming a riot!

What a lot of us cloak as "peaceful protest" in Nigeria is far from it. In a peaceful protest, you don't hurl missiles at law enforcement. You don't go to the nearest public garage to hire touts and ruffians in the name of mobilisation. "Aluta" isn't a license for lawless and mindless behaviour.

How can a protest by students of a university degenerate to the point of hurling rocks and other projectiles at the convoy of a government official? I watched this video and several others and I am surprised this incident only led to 2 deaths. This could easily have become another Police vs Shiites war leading to a slew of casualties.

From all indications, the police did not willfully open fire on students. They did so because they were provoked. If you corner a policeman and attack him with rocks, he will respond the only way he knows how...with much more violence. Our policemen are experts at heavy-handed conflict resolution. They adopt extreme measures in every conflict, shooting to kill most times. The unfortunate thing here is that the police weapons are equipped with real bullets and not plastic bullets as is usual in developed climes. This is a major failure on the part of the government. It is time we realise that protests are an inalienable part of democracy so we will see more of this as time goes on. It is, therefore, time to re-train and equip our law enforcement agents accordingly.

Over a million people marched and protested during the recently resolved Hong Kong protests. No one lost their lives in the crises apart from the 5 protesters that reportedly committed ritual suicide to press home their demands. This is because the police deployed standard riot gear: Teargas, Rubber bullets and batons.

Students and citizens must do better. The Police also needs a total reorientation and proper equipment to avoid this unnecessary loss of lives going forward.

God bless the dead and console their families.

I will never understand people. You spend a ton of money and time. Plan a big party and invite family, friends and even strangers. You dress in bright and gay colors and show up, dancing to the adulations of well-wishers and envy of traducers. You are all smiles and joy fills the air.

Then a short while after the music has died down and the crowd has departed, you begin to pull apart all that you have joined together, layer by layer.

Makes me wonder...what's the point exactly?

Nwobodo has been retired, so as others. There are currently no Igbo DIG in Buhari's government. The Police force is usually the Igbo forte than even the military.

For the tribalist asking the population of Igbo's in the Police Force, they should compare the number of Igbo's to their own tribe in the force. One daft will stay in his cubicle and be writing trash.

For your information Louis Edet is Calabar and not even Igbo. The Igbo's have not had it worst in our civilian dispensation than in Buhari's government.

If you as a tribalist support the marginalization of the Igbo's today because you benefit from their absence, get ready to suffer your own tomorrow while others benefit from your absence. This is the law of Karma.

DIG Godwin Nwobodo is still in active service.

You need to understand that there are 6 geo-political zones in Nigeria and the South East is just one of them.

Every zone must have at least one representative in the Management team of the Nigerian police.

Not everyone likes using the terms Vagina or Penis publicly. So some would refer to it as "body". The people she is advising know exactly what she is talking about.

Madam Kemi claims she has a PhD in Pharmacy so she probably knows what she is talking about.

Even Obinwanne Okeke is an entrepreneur. Nonsense! Who told u those who are gainfully employed can be into drug, fraud and other criminalities. Typical Nigerian way of reasoning

You single out one Nigerian out of the multitude of Nigerians in SA as proof that MOST Nigerians in SA are into crime?

Typical Nigerian way of reasoning.

There are several crooked Nigerians in SA...but they aren't in the majority. The majority are decent, honest and hardworking folks who work hard for their money.

If that's their wish, then grant it.
I can swear to it that Nigerians in south Africa are majorly into Fraud and drugs. I didn't read it. I know it with facts.

If they accuse us of such, they are actually saying the truth,
and we ought to cover our face in shame and return home for always embarrassing ourselves everywhere we go.

South Africa is not same as Nigeria where a state will be arrogantly claimed by another set of people from a far different region.

South Africans are lazy and Nigerians have seized the chance to snatch people's girls and wives.

Nigerians in South Africa are not "MAJORLY" into crime. I know over 10 Nigerians in South Africa and ALL of them are GAINFULLY employed or running a business. There are a few bad eggs...hardly enough to unleash violence on all Nigerians for that.

You are right that SAcans are a lazy and entitled bunch. Nigerians are highly enterprising. The truth is that no one will leave his country and go to a hostile country like SA and not hustle hard. Because of this, SA women are more attracted to Nigerian men...you can hardly blame them for that.

Just a few days ago, Mr. Bobrisky was bandying words with the DG of the National Orientation Agency online talking about how he rolls with the dude's bosses.

I made this post below just a few days ago on a thread on that topic:

This guy thinks he is responding to one of those toothless social media celebrities he loves fighting with.

Mr. Runsewe is a top government official who has the means and influence to make life extremely uncomfortable for him.

He needs to pick his fights carefully.

Well, I guess the chickens came home to roost sooner than expected.

Bobrisky is an example of the archetypal lizard that began to view itself as a crocodile. He was practising his trade without much interference, exchanging banter with Nollywood and social media celebrities and getting away with it. Now he decided to cross swords with someone way out of his league and by so doing has attracted undue attention to himself.

They will run him outta town. If I were "shim", this would be a good time to send in that letter of asylum to the US Embassy. I am sure they will gladly welcome him with open hands to the land where he can practice his trade freely.

Those same people will be the first to get him silenced in order to keep their alternative lifestyle secret.

While there is no doubt that many of our big men indulge in the act, NONE of them will want to be publicly identified with it.

I think Bobrisky overestimates his own value by thinking those big men will be willing to stake their reputation and future by sticking up for him if he gets in trouble. Not true!

Bobrisky knows the international community will back him up if they touch him. This will turn into something ugly for Nigeria if the cross dresser is arrested. I believe that is why the security agencies have left him alone.

Yeah, I agree with you that he has been left alone to avoid unnecessary bad optics and undue negative media attention.

But that shouldn't be mistaken for a lack of will or capacity to act. If he crosses his bounds with his nuisance value, the government will pick him up, prosecute him according to the laws of the land, bad optics be damned.

Religion / Re: Police Seize Pastor Fatoyinbo’s Passport, Conduct Search On His House, Office by Reptyle(m): 12:26pm On Aug 29, 2019
LifestyleTonite:
The Nigerian Police Force have seized the international passport of pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, COZA.

This was done as part of the bail condition granted to the pastor who was interrogated few days ago over a rape allegation leveled against him by Busola Dakolo, wife of singer Timi Dakolo.

A search was conducted at his residence and office on Wednesday by detectives from the Force Criminal Investigation Department(FCID), Abuja.

According to source who spoke to Daily Sun, “the home of the pastor and his office were searched today by detectives investigating the matter, but I cannot tell you what they found, but defiantly they were looking for incriminating documents and other evidences that was revealed by witnesses during the discreet investigation conducted in the matter.

“Also part of the bail conditions given to pastor Fatoyinbo is that he provides two level 16 officers who have landed property in Abuja, and that his international passport to be deposited with the police which he has done”. The source said.

Part of the bail condition sees Fatoyinbo providing two level 16 officers who have landed properties in Abuja.

The COZA pastor has since been released to go home but told to report regularly at the FCID in Abuja.

Searching his home and office for what exactly?

Evidence of a crime he allegedly committed over a decade ago?

Were they expecting to find a video recording of the incident or maybe a full or an empty bottle of Krest stashed away in a corner of his room

All I can see is an attempt to drag this case unnecessarily perhaps in an attempt by the police to convince the public that the matter was thoroughly investigated.

Anyone waiting for an indictment and possible prosecution of Pastor Fatoyinbo is "sitting on a long thing". (In the immortal words of that "great philosopher" Kokomaster Dbanj grin)

jess2019:
My son will be 9 in October but his behaviour bothers me so much. He acts like a day dreamer. He has turned me into a shouting and miserable mum as I had to beat him after I've exhausted other punishment options. To make this short, I'm going to summarise his behaviour.

He still cannot get himself ready for school in the morning. Either he doesnt cream his body or forgets to comb his hair or doesnt brush his teeth. He forgets to brush his teeth almost everyday. This made me to make a list of step by step sticker. I sticked this on their bathroom mirror and on his bedroom wall. Yet I have to keep reminding him everyday. For example, last week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday he forgot to brush his teeth and hair. I have to constantly be reminding him every morning. He is the only one that brushes teeth after getting ready. I trained them to brush teeth first before shower but he keeps forgetting.

I have to remind him to do his homework, and put it back in his school bag to return to school on Mondays. The book will still not make it to the school even after constant reminder. We've lost countless of lunch bags. One ended up on school roof. If you give him any form to submit back to his teacher. He will forget in his bag so I now give it to his sister to give to his teacher.

He removes his clothes, shoes, pants, belts etc and leave them on the floor, I bought two laundry baskets for him. One in his room, another in their bathroom, yet all his belongings end up on the floor that you can hardly find a space to put a foot. I dont expect him to be perfect but atleast to try so that his 70% clothes make it to the basket or shoes to their racks. He also has a book shelf and desk yet they also end up on the floor.

He plays so much that sometimes he leaves shops with items in his hands. So I have to always watch out for him. Living in a western country where black boys are stereotyped I fear for him. He can stare at the ceiling for hrs when getting ready for school or spend long time in the shower yet not using soap on his body. This usually makes us late unless I step in to help or keep shouting.

If you ask him to do any house chores, he will not do it instead waiting for us to forget so he can get away with it. When grounded not to watch TV, he will still do it once he knows am inside my room or busy with a baby.

Yesterday we revised all his lesson assignments (5 work books). I specifically asked him to put them in his lesson bag. I pointed at the bag. Now I drop him at the lesson only for him to say oh I think I came with old lesson books. I dont know how he ended up with old books in his bag. It could be he planned it as a way to avoid the lesson. If not I wonder how he will remember it himself as soon as I drop him and his sister as this is unlike him.

I've taken him to a doctor incase there is any diagnosis so I can give him all the help he needs but they said it's just his behaviour because according to the doctor he is smart academically. He is 18months ahead of his year level. So they ruled ADHD out.

Sorry I'm not laughing at you oooo!

I showed your post to my wife and she asked me after reading "Please what is she complaining about?" cheesy cheesy cheesy

I have a 10-year-old boy and I can tell you for a fact that your post almost perfectly describes him.

You have nothing to worry about. What your son is going through is called "growing up." Just keep nurturing, guiding and directing. Bear the pain of constant correction and shouting for now. When you have to discipline him by spanking or corporal punishment, make sure you are in the right frame of mind and do it from a heart of love...not frustration at his behaviour.

Thank God he doesn't have a learning disability. Every other thing will fall in place duly. He will be just fine. smiley smiley

If you believe this story..then why all these things weren't on the rise before the Fulani herdsmen menace?

It's like saying those people in the middle belt being slaughtered on daily basis are also killing themselves to pin it on the Fulani. Or Yorubas hiding in Ore and other roads to kidnap and kill other Yorubas so they can pin it on Fulanis. But nobody pinned anything on the Fulani before now o...

Well as usual..it's just a thread for zombies to masturbate on

I know it is hard to accept, but that is the bitter truth.

There are criminal elements all over the country perpetrating heinous crimes and masquerading as "Fulani Herdsmen".

There are indeed elements of Fulani operating on our highways. But there are also local gangs carrying out operations on a daily.
