post=94039248:Sadly, whether he begged for the tip or not, ethically, he should not have received a gift given to you while on duty. He should have simply said NO! In my workplace, people get fired for receiving common Christmas hampers freely given by customers. Gifts like this could lead to unnecessary conflicts of interest. But if they really want to enforce this policy, half of all Nigeria airport workers and infact, more than half of the entire civil service will lose their jobs because a lot of them are guilty of this misbehaviour. |
OEPHIUS:It is strange that after reading that press statement, people here are still asking "How much did the logo cost"? Did y'all miss the part where it was said to have been done "Pro Bono"? Why in the world are we even fussing over a logo in the first place? |
Wait, so Obaseki's people are celebrating victory in a poll for who the public would like to see on Channel TV's debate? ![]() Obaseki is using this as a test of his popularity? ![]() Like serzly ![]() Na wah oooo! |
Adieza:May God bless and prosper the works of your hands. As soon as you can afford it, endeavour to tile the walls of your factory. Use white ceramic tiles. It will improve the ambience of the factory, make the place look a lot more hygienic and it is very easy to keep clean. Good luck and God bless you. |
brightec:When the executive extends favours like these to another arm of government, how will the judges not agree to issue jankara injunctions at midnight? The judiciary wants autonomy but accepts every crumb that the executive throws its way. How then will autonomy come? Why does someone that has risen through the ranks to the position of a judge need the government to build the a house? What happened to the house they lived in or the car they were driving before? If judges must have official houses and cars, why can the judiciary itself not make provisions for these in their budget? Why is this country so lawless? |
OdogwuBlog:What do they plan to do with the crude they've stolen. Do they plan to refine it or are they expecting to sell it to some foreign country for forex? Do they even know what crude oil is or are they just stealing because it is a compulsive habit formed over time? |
azmanaty02:Government not having sense is no excuse for stealing. If anything, citizens like these are the reason why we continuously elect leaders that don't have sense. |
nairavsdollars:They never said they were ASKING FOR HIS APPROVAL. They wrote to INFORM him of the formation of the new association and cited relevant laws that empower them to do that. |
sapphiere:I commend the police for not going to sleep on this heartless crime. But I have serious concerns about their ability to secure the conviction of any of these suspects if they go to court without first ensuring an airtight prosecution. From the testimonies of these paraded individuals, it appears to me like the police have not done a good job tidying up their investigations. All they have is a bucket list of suspects and all but one of them, deny complicity in the crime. All the police have as a fact right now is the confession of Collins and it would appear the police is building their entire case on his confession. Unfortunately without hard evidence implicating any of the other suspects, Collins' confession is not enough to convict them because it is essentially his word against theirs. this is a capital offence and I do not think any judge will want to convict someone of the basis of a confession that is not backed by any hard evidence. If the testimonies of the other suspects are anything to go by, the Police in Abuja subjected them to all sorts of scientific probes including fingerprinting, blood sampling, DNA and even semen sampling and all those returned negative results. This means that the only evidence the police has is Collins' confession. Now speaking of Collins' confession, it would seem the police has also established that he may have implicated his landlady in the plot to kill the deceased victim on the basis of malice. If you listen carefully to the landlady's testimony, it seems that the police have been unable to establish her complicity in the plot having ransacked her house, shop etc. and subjected her bank accounts to a forensic probe. While these factors do not prove her innocence, they also do not establish her complicity in the plot. This means that once again, all the police have got on her is Collins' confession. The other lady is only a part of the team because her son that was implicated by Collin's is at large. Perhaps that is the person that holds the key to the whole investigation. If he is caught, he might be able to help the police connect all of the dots more strongly to prevent any of these suspects from walking free if they are really guilty. For now, the police's case is a house of cards that can be brought down by an averagely good lawyer that knows how to ask the right questions. I strongly suggest that for poor Uwaila to get the justice she rightly deserves, the police need to dig in and conduct further investigations before commencing the process of prosecution. |
JidennaJason:Akpata wasn't NBA President when the decision was taken to invite El-Rufai as a speaker. He also wasn't President when that decision was reversed. Akpata is trying to calm a storm left for him by his predecessor. Don't make comments like "northerners are always in REVERSE MODE" or refer to northerners as "backward thinking people" else you are no better than or different from the people you speak against. They have their religion and culture as much as you have yours. A lot of northern lawyers supported the move to disinvite El-Rufai. Even those that did not support the move, understood and accepted the decision. Only a tiny fragment of northern lawyers are part of the move to set up a new bar association. It isn't right to make sweeping statements about an entire ethnic group. |
I have a picture I took with Gani Fawehinmi when he came to my university for a seminar put together by my Faculty. Does it mean I was a member of the civil rights/anti Abacha movement? I have another photo I took with Prof. Wole Soyinka and some leading members of the NADECO movement when I bumped into them at the National Theatre in Lagos when they came for a press conference. Does it mean I was a member of NADECO? I have pictures taken with different political heavyweights including former president OBJ by virtue of my former job as a journalist where I had access to speak to several of these big men and women. Does it mean i can claim some form of affiliation with any of these men because I did "gum body" to snap pictures with them? Abeg Reno Omokri should tell us another story jare! If he doesnt have pictures or videos of himself marching on the streets with these legends, he needs to stop passing off their legacies as his. Sowore was there and we have pictures and videos of his escapades. He also has scars to show for it. Keyamo was there. We know his story. We know all those that were in the youth vanguard of the anti-Abacha movement. While people like Reno were forming "human rights activist" by photo, many others were doing the actual thing. He needs to take several seats and stop acting like Abacha happened 100 years ago and we don't remember the history. |
KEVIND:What is the point of this? We are human and we have the ability to reevaluate a position with the benefit of new information and change our minds. In 1997, Tinubu did not believe in one Nigeria. 23 years later, he feels differently. What is the crime there? Ikemba Ojukwu fought a war seeking to secede from Nigeria. Many years later, the man not only preached one Nigeria, but also ran for the office of President of the same country. Nnamdi Kanu who is championing the break up of Nigeria today believed in one Nigeria just a few years ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=131&v=mlKqSJeHgRo&feature=emb_logo In 2015, many Nigerians swore by Buhari. Today some of those Nigerians swear at Buhari. Some that hated him then, now like him today. What makes us human beings is that for as long as we are still alive, we have the ability to review a stand on an issue and change that stand if necessary. it is what makes up the process of growth and it will continue until the day we die. |
stephanie11:Anything short of an outright apology to that journalist is absolute nonsense in my opinion. Imagine this man still grandstanding after that disgraceful display. The same man will mount a soapbox calling Buhari a tyrant. Clear the Air ko, foul the air ni! ![]() |
Islie:I clearly heard on that video the phrase "even if it is APC, arrest them and deal with them!" I believe Oshiomole was talking about arresting anyone that wants to cause trouble during the Edo election. The PDP should go and rest abeg! |
Pollosa1:Olumide Akpata isn't the current leader of the NBA. The current leader is Usoro. The baton exchange will happen at the annual conference. If Olumide Akpata wants to take the action of striking out El-Rufai's name immediately after he takes office he can do so |
OneKinGuy:He won't win by running other housemates down or knocking heads. He will win by playing his own game and adopting his own strategy. None of the housemates playing the game can see better than the viewers because the viewers have a 360 degrees view of all of the housemates. How do you call someone "your guy" and run him down before others in the same sentence? That's a shitty thing to do. |
ogododo:This is very good as long as they have an altruistic reason for inviting him and not to intimidate and shut him up. Let him share his "facts" with the DSS for the peace and security of the nation and let the DSS do their job. Similarly, if it is found that he made those incendiary allegations just to score some cheap points, he should be made to face the law. That claim that there is a civil war that will start in 2022 is scary. |
SocialJustice:After all, is said and done, the world we live in is made up of "users and the used." At every point in time, someone is using and someone is getting used. Even you are either using someone or being used by someone at this very time. What matters at the end of the day is how you are able to adequately milk your situation for value. There is no one anywhere except God, that will continually provide succour for anyone else. Pikin dey grow up dey on em own; student dey graduate; employee dey become retiree; man pikin dey die; Na so the world dey roll dey go non-stop. As god don smile on this woman and her children now, it is up to them to tap as much value as they can from this positive publicity. No one promised them tomorrow. |
bbbabes:Something wey some people dey spend money dey pursue naim God dash these woman and her children free of charge. Something wey dey totori some men naim the papa of this fine children run live dem so. Maybe one alfa go don tell am say na dem dey affect em destiny because dem be ogbanje. Now as d man abandon dem na that time God come pick their call o! blessing come dey follow dem. Now the mumu papa go come now wan dey feel among as tins don dey beta for dem small small so. Mtchewwww! The moral of the story for me is that no blessing of God is a curse...everytin na time. Secondly, e get some kin mumu people wey suppose delete from your life before your destiny go pick. If the yeye papa no abandon dem, nobody for notice dem. Thirdly, no situation wey Baba God no fit turn around...even those situations wey be like say life don finish...just dey follow am dey go even if e no make sense. There is ALWAYS a silver lining to every dark cloud...don't stop looking. Trust God and he will come thru for you. Allah'u Akbar! |

olaajilaran:I no be doctor oooo! ![]() But from the pictures, that big toe looks like an ingrown toenail while those lesions between the toes looks like athlete foot. If it is, she will need a very minor surgery to correct it. It would appear she walks around barefoot a lot. She needs to stop doing that. Let her get a daily footbath of warm water and disinfectant (Dettol, Izal, etc) or even regular table salt. Let her soak her feet for about 20 to 30 minutes daily and then apply an anti-fungal cream especially between her toes before she goes to bed. There is also this anti-fungal foot powder she can dust on her foot after the footbath. I can't remember the name now but any major pharmacy should stock it. Last last, it would be a great idea to see a doctor sha. Though unless you see a specialist podiatrist, the likelihood is that they will just prescribe some anti-fungal creams and send her on their way. |
ThompsonJoo:From all we read and watched on the news, the only person that led an "invasion" of the state assembly is the governor himself when he led thugs to vandalise the building. The other members were nowhere near the EDHA when the governor and his deputy supervised the ransacking and vandalisation of the Hoise of Assembly in the name of "renovation." |
SmartProf:So in your opinion, 18 elected members, out of a 24-member house of assembly, should not be allowed to sit, discuss and elect a leader for themselves? What is right is right and what is wrong is wrong. In this case, the governor is clearly in the wrong. |
muchroom:I strongly suspect one of them unknowingly put a metal container into the microwave. |
Esseite:Obaseki lost that underdog card with some of the actions he has taken since the beginning of his administration. • Swearing-in 10 out of 24 legislators thus barring them from providing the representation for which their people elected them. • Leading a bunch of renegades within the party to remove the national chairman of the party. • Various acts of intimidation perpetrated against state legislators and party men considered loyal to the then national chairman of the party and even the chairman himself. This includes the childish action of parking a fully loaded refuse truck in front of the then national chairman's house. • Banning the then national chairman from visiting Edo State and threatening the national chairman with arrest if he visits Edo State without executive clearance. • Moving state legislators loyal to him (now only 5) to government house and using thugs to vandalize the State House of Assembly building to prevent the 19 other lawmakers from sitting. Do all of the above actions and so many more look to you like the actions of a political underdog? ![]() |
goldcoinhub:"Nengi throws herself at men"? That's definitely rich coming from a married woman that threw herself and had sex on international TV, with a guy that wanted nothing to do with her the next day ![]() Everyone in the BB Naija house is there to play a game. You played yours and it obviously did not work. Stop beefing Nengi or anyone else for that matter. |
Webmannigeria:How do you engage a shooter you can't see clearly? How do you engage a shooter who might have surrounded himself with a human shield of women and children? How do you engage a shooter who is firing from within a civilian population? Fighting a force that adopts guerilla tactics is not like conventional warfare where you know where your enemy is and you point your guns in that direction and open fire. Troops are bound by all sorts of international conventions even when fighting unconventional enemies like terrorists. If those troops had unleashed fire in the general direction of those gunshots, they probably would have hit more civilians than terrorists...then we would roast them for being so "unprofessional". Give these guys a break. I think they are doing their best considering the circumstances. |
NORSIYK:She claims she withdrew the case for personal reasons. The accused has rejected her withdrawal and is pushing ahead with the case...she should be happy about that because it gives her an opportunity to go before a court and present facts to prove she was raped, without having it on her conscience that she may have been responsible for destroying somebody. This case eases whatever moral burden or hang-ups she might have. She already has a lawyer and some money was raised for her by the feminist groups that supported her cause so money should not be a problem. D'banj was accused, tried and judged on social media because of a mere statement made by this lady. The guy was the subject of ridicule and condemnation even by those he would normally consider close colleagues, associates and friends who were constrained to denounce him publicly in the harshest of ways. I can just imagine the tension this accusation would have put on his marriage and how much he may have lost in revenue due to this accusation. Apart from his talent and street cred, the only other thing an artiste has is his reputation. This singular accusation negatively impacted all three aspects. I support D'banj following through on this case 100%. I for one will continue to have questions about his personal integrity if he pulls out the case at this time. I feel for the lady and this isn't about exposing her to any punishment but for D'Banj to clear his name and save whatever is left of his dignity. |
winkmart:He may also have struck a deal to turn state witness against Hushpuppi, for a lesser charge or reduced sentence. |
Excuses:I feel your pain and your anger. You make numerous assumptions about me. But it might shock you to know I am from the middle belt of Nigeria myself...and I am a Christian. I do not come from a wealthy home either. Thank you for keeping it civil nonetheless. But, communal clashes are numerous across the country and apart from the Boko crisis in the Northeast, none of them has the sort of religious colouration that warrants this skewed narrative of a targeted agenda against Christians anywhere in the country. I doubt the bandits in Zamfara, Benue, Kogi, Plateau and the likes, care if you are an imam, a sheikh, an Ustaz or a devout Christian before they launch their carnage. We have a plethora of persistent internecine conflicts across the country and successive government have failed to curtail them. Beyond these conflicts, we have poverty, hunger and disease claiming many more lives. We unfortunately have a bunch of people that have played up these conflicts, leveraging them for political and possibly, monetary gain. Now the narrative has attracted sanctions which will be felt by everyone...even the "oppressed Christians".Because of the way our system works, the only people that will be immune from the debilitating effects of these sanctions are the very people the sanctions are targeted at...the politicians. But I hope that the sanctions end up stopping the conflicts across the country like you said. God bless Nigeria and ALL Nigerians. . |
Web2020:Thanks to all those that have helped to push this nonsensical and non-existent narrative on social media and internationally. It is great to know that sanctions will be imposed on the country. It is also wonderful that everyone of us will feel the impact of these sanctions...even the so-called "persecuted Christians." God bless Nigeria! |
Johnnyessence:A voter or party supporter reserves the right to change their minds about the decision made. The fact that President Buhari and APC have not quite provided the sort of leadership that many of us thought they would, does not obfuscate the fact that ex-President Jonathan and the PDP were an uber corrupt entity that failed woefully having ruled the country for a solid 16 years. Please let us not mix up the facts. Let Reno rest and let Sowore also shut up! Nigeria SHALL be great again! |

hell rufai again. Olumide Akpata had better not incur the wrath of young lawyers who carried his campaign on their backs. Abi na Usoro still de run show for NBA?
