El-Rufai is just another one of them! He should begin by repenting, and acknowledging his role in the rot that we are experiencing right now! To think that I once saw him as a presidential material. I even spoke of my willingness take time off my day job, to volunteer and organise for him! |
The reaction to this matter conclusively confirms the fact that the National Assembly is full of certificated and functional illiterates. |
Eko for show! On serious note, nice and colourful ceremony. |
Fine question, poster! May be the days of surrogate mother don begin for 9ja! RudySmith: The lady will only stop working 4 a month or two and he is offering 2 pay her 100K per month 4 a yr after the birth, why would u expect this guy 2 pay more than that? |
GeJ79: First result Romney wins KentuckyAs expected! Nothing new, or exciting here! |
diva_tosin: It is understandable that PDP which is the largest political party in Africa will have little problems and unguarded utterances from some of its members. Are you for real? Or more like, are you on some exotic dope? |
At least, the parts of Nigeria under ACN leadership are doing a lot better than those under PDP's. Each one must rise and take the opportunity history (fate, destiny or God) offers to them. Tinubu is a child of his time and day, think of what the Southwest would have been without him! Is he a saint, hell no! But are his leadership skills and role God-sent? Yes, you bet! I will vote an ACN candidate anytime, over any PDP one! |
I am not an Igbo man, by any stretch of the word/term, but i have chosen to adopt and understand their position. It's not easy to understand or adopt the position of a defeated people. From where I am standing , the Igbos weren't merely defeated, their defeat was the culmination of what began with the kick starting of the progroms in the north. Some of us are jumping on the bandwagon, to condemn Achebe, without bothering to understand what the term "genocide" really means. According the definition out there, whether we admit it or not, a genocide was committed against the Igbo nation. We cannot move forward as a nation, until we acknowledge that scandalous part of our history. Come to think of it, the bulk of the guys later who ruined this country are direct beneficiaries of the genocide committed against the Igbos. Once again, for the records, I am not an Igbo man. The haters (of truth) can now begin their attacks! Drunk: Did Ojukwu ever make known his true motives for wanting to cede from Nigeria and the reason for going to war with his country? At the peak of the |
The name calling and childish finger pointing is not good oooooooo! When are some people here going to grow up? |
Silly question in my opinion! The Bible is, and has never been about scientific accuracy! Science and the Bible have different roles to play in our lives, why compare them? |
Joe Mosco: As a citizen of this country, I move a motion for the abortion of this treaty...... GEJ, pls you can do better than this!!!!!!Seconded |
Pakistan only exports one item, SSS and NSA make una take note abeg. I now trust that country at all at all! ![]() |
To all out there! Make una mark this day! This may be the beginning or the dawn of proper voter participation in elections. Our people now the real meaning of the abused phrase "Dividends of Democracy". Up Edo people! Up Oshiomole! |
Several Army barracks in Nigeria. I no mean the officers' side of things, I am talking about the proper and real barracks ![]() The best time of my life, made friends from the four corners of Nigeria. ![]() |
@all! I choose to wade into this matter with caution, for a number of reasons. I first noticed El Rufai during his BPE days, he came across as informed, patriotic and honest. His antics in The FCT have left a trail of tears and painful memories, he acted in some cases like a bull in a china shop! One big reason why I am urging caution is the simple fact that El Rufai is adept at giving off strange, if not weird, signals. He has succeeded in making his true personality difficult to describe or define, and this is no mean feat. Like it or not, the man is simply smart at self-definition. Sadly, this Iis Nigeria, no journalist or news group is ready to dig up his trail. Something tells me he is trying to cultivate the political ground for some future electoral harvest. I don't rust the man, but I can't prove anything against him |
@all! A cabin services manager of Bellview told me the same thing, a couple of weeks soon after the crash. He was adamant that the aircraft had exploded, I thought he was trying to pass the buck. It's a same that no one ever bothered to investigate that angle properly. |
Kia Nairalanders, wanna pass me! Instead of Joy that the Jesuits have extended their legendary university system to our country, wanna dey engage in some verbal tribal fisticuffs. ![]() |
Careful people, please hold break and apply hydraulic! Those same Indians have a better reputation, internationally, compared to us Nigerians. Once again, abeg softly softly! Some views are dangerous to those who hold them! |
Gbam! Well spoken, abi well written. A name becomes a burden when we allow it, and ascribe more meaning to it. slimyem: a name is a defining identity...nothing more. |
Wow! The most one-sided post I have ever seen! Ptolomeus: Martyrs? |
Honestly, I am tempted to agree with you. How else are we going to deal with this scourge? My father is a pensioner: he, like most of his fellow pensioners, is shell shocked at the way some government officials handle matters that have to do with retired folk. Beaf: Can we not simply shoot these people? |
Na you biko! Where are the nairaland menfolk? This woman has class, make haste to look for her. After all, the Holy Book says a good wife is a blessing! queensmith: Qualities I want in a husband, |
mikeansy: when OBJ made do or die statement, he was roundly criticised and rightly so.I agree with you completely! |
Like most of the posters here, I am keen on free and fair elections in my country. However, doesn't it say a lot about our educational system that a good number of those trained in logic and analytic thinking, here on Nairaland, are supporting the inciting, divisive and divisive remarks of Buhari. I, for one, still hold Buhari responsible for the lives of those NYSC kids killed by his almajiris. Buhari not interested in Nigeria as a nation, he wants to prove he is the best and most faithful scion of the Northern Nigeria Military club. For those who don't know,(otherwise known as bl**dy civilians)Buhari was not a part of the Shagari coup. He was brought in from Jos after the major players fell out when it came to appointing the Head of State. Buhari first coming was a negotiated one, and he has forgotten the lessons therein. The man is a wimp, he had intel on his table telling him to arrest IBB, but he choked. It is his perennial tribalism and other "isms" that made it possible for IBB to throw him out so easily. To him, IBB was more of a brother than Idiagbon. All attempts by Idiagbon to keep an eye on the posting pattern of officers after the Shagari coup were rebuffed by Buhari, that is how IBB managed to plugg the important Nigerian Army Units with his boys. By the way, IBB was funded to further secure the loyalty of these officers (by one MKO Abiola). Sorry about the digression, Buhari is bad news for those who want to see a united and prosperous Nigeria. Over and out! |
The president (supposedly a PhD holder) suspended the Salami with automatic alacrity, why has he lost his pace when it has come to reinstating him? |
@ All Posters! This makes for sad viewing. I think we should shut up and hang our heads in collective shame! |
Well, until they are convicted by a court of any offence, these accused remain only "accused" and are entitled to their rights and privileges. Sp quit getting surprised that an accused has been promoted. By the way, my father is a pensioner. He has his own crazy conspiracy theory , regarding why the government is always asking pensioners to travel up and down for verification |
The sexism on display here, beggars belief!!!!!!!!!!! Talk about excess testosterone! |
The Englightenment allowed the European countries to become what they are today. I absolutely support the separation of the two, they should be kept apart. |
Well, women only recently started featuring in government - so we should be comparing percentages not absolute numbers. From what I've seen of female office holders,it's the same deal as what we've been getting from the men folk. Nigerian women have proven equally adept at corruption as their male counterpart. And when they're wives or girlfriends they've often been accessories to their husbands'/boyfriend's escapades. For example refer to the James Ibori story..Again, I disagree with your position. Are you going to compare the extent of damage that has been done to Nigeria by the menfolk, to what little mistakes some women have made. Another proof of why my position may not be as hopeless as you think, is the role women have played in the background, not in the foreground, of everyday Nigerian life. |
stop disivin your self as long as nigeria is controlled by a few cabal or clique any president will be nothing but just a mere popet. Kind of reminds me of ken sarowiwa who died thinking the problem of nigeria where the hausa igbo and yoruba, sure if he where to be alive today and see gej he would swallow his words.I disagree with you, in fact very vehemently! Ken Saro-Wiwa was a movement, an ideology. Our country men and women are not yet ready to buy into the demands and, ultimately, the rewards that come from following an ideology through. The problem of leadership in Nigeria, to be honest, goes beyond tribe. We must turn to an idealogical search to bring Nigeria back from the precipice. And, I do not give a shishi or quarter if it will take a woman pickin to rescue us! ![]() |
Let us admit that we have a Leadership problem. The sexuation of an office holder matters not. To those who have mentioned a handful of corruption tarred women in Nigeria, compare the number of the women mentioned to the horde of corrupt Nigerian men! I will gladly vote a woman who looks likes she knows what she is doing, e.g Okonjo Iweala. We have tried the men since independence, let us give the women a chance as well. In fact, the salvation of this country may lay in the beautiful Gele of a Nigerian amazon! |
