zeongeon: This kind of weirdness or what u call silly is what lands pple jobs in places like google and microsoft.

Nice one OP
God bless you!

I was once asked at the final stage of an interview to tell a time I came up with an innovative idea to solve a pressing problem.

My response was something simple that is related to the job that everyone can create. One man on the panel actually asked why I have not shared it with anyone.

I got the job!

@OP, is trying to solve a problem, no light, probably no pressing iron. And he gets it done! He is not saying start ironing your clothes with pots. Gosh!

If I'm on a panel and I ask this question and a fresh graduate tells me this. He will surely get the job!
Phones › Re: Glo Back As Nigeria's Second Largest Operator –NCC by rman: 1:01pm On Sep 23, 2014
stardragon: uptill now we dont have mtn 3g network in gboko benue state.. And u ar claiming mtn is evry where, rada we have glo, airtel and resently etisalat 3g network here....
So mtn is not as good as u hyped it be.
There is a a reason they have double the subscribers other competitors have. No one is hyping them. Subscriber numbers are there for all to see.

Did NCC hype mtn by giving them 50mill+ subscribers too?
Phones › Re: Glo Back As Nigeria's Second Largest Operator –NCC by rman: 7:36am On Sep 23, 2014
arsetalks: They should remove 1 subscriber from glo's figures please. I bought their sim within that period and dumped it within same period due to poor network.

Etisalat is by miles the most underrated in this country. Cheap rates, good coverage and superb internet.

With the likes of Spectranet now available for data, matter of time before MTN loses a abig chunk of their 34m data subscriber base.

Spectranet is the baba for data. 50 GB for 14500 with 4G LTE speed has ensured I no longer pay almost 12k to DSTV just to watch football over the weekend, I can now steam matches and other events I want with no additional cost.
Until Spectranet and other operators spreads their tentacles everywhere like MTN they will continue to play catch up.

If subscriber base is judge based on cities alone, I am certain MTN will not be first in places like Lagos, Abuja and PH. Smartly they are the only network you are like going to see competing everywhere including very rural area and this is what is responsible for the massive advantage.

Did you notice how Etisalat has closed down on Airtel and GLO even when the other operator have a 7yrs head start?
Phones › Re: Nigerian Networks And Their Annoying Texts/calls by rman: 10:34pm On Sep 21, 2014
Ekii: I once worked in one of these networks. These things happen only because someone in the marketing department has got to meet his target before the year runs out. Sadly, its done at the expense of the masses but then the ogas are happy because they are seeing the returns. All these product launching you see everywhere didn't come without the networks spending money and so,they would make sure the returns are very high even if its a product or service destined to fail.

Ever wonder why you call customer care,he or she promises to help you deactivate instantly or to escalate to the back office but you never see any change? It isn't because he or she did not but because, an sms pack that rakes in billions from millions of subscribers cannot simply be deactivated except under stronger pressure which should have been NCC's job. The ccr can only do that which he has been empowered to do but that which he can't do is escalated. The more you deactivate, the more the marketers who come out with these services and packages automatically subscribe you to another pack. He has promised in his proposals that such pack would bring in let's say 30million in 1year,you think say na just like that he go meet him target? No. He does so by forcefully deducting weekly and monthly cash from subscribers. Imagine how much would have been made at the end of the year. He would even surpass his target.

Unless NCC does something, all complaint falls on deaf ears and they can't be bothered.
Is that you?

Bball is the only clue I am going to give away...

Romance › Re: Why Nigerian Ladies Should Never Settle For Less by rman:
OP is always insulting even on soccer threads.

She thinks she is smart and got it all figured out. All I see is a teenager that thinks life is just like arithmetic where 2+2=4

Life has not thrown her a curved ball yet. When life does, her perspective and approach to issues will change and yes, this includes the choice of a life partner.

You all think marriage is about love and perfection when successful marriages has always been about respect and compromise.

TV is raising kids instead of parents. This generation of ladies think they are all some kind of celebrity. The camera phone, apps and internet is not helping matters.
Some of our grandparents did not even see their husbands till the wedding day and they made it work.

Yes compromise is good because what she termed ''less'' I called ''compromise''
Sports › Re: Babayaro Makes Fresh Case For Iheanacho’s Inclusion In Super Eagles by rman: 11:04am On Sep 21, 2014
tboynaija: You all clamoring for the inclusion of iheanacho should just calm down, no doubt he is an exceptional player and I love the way he plays his football but let's not forget our own Mikel during his under 20 days was so exceptional that two great clubs in England had to fight each other for his signature and I still remember how Nigerians were shouting for okocha to leave the stage for Mikel Obi but now we are all witness to what is happening to that once adorned player. If you have been following Nigerian youth football you will agree with me that success at the under 17 level of football does not guarantee success at the senior stage of the game. I think iheanacho should not be rushed into the super eagle's squad, he still has to prove himself at both his club and the under 20 level before he plays for the senior team. It is normal for a player to have a good outing as in his case during the pre season with Mancity but let's wait and see what he can do in the Epl
The reason the bolded was so is because most of them were over aged. The last under 17 squad was relatively young.

How sustainable is this?

What if such medical personnel relocates to the city a few years later? He will then have unfair advantage?

Develop the LGA's. Make the basic things like electricity, good roads and water available and people will stay there.

naijawarrior: I've always known Igbos to be hated and persecuted by all tribes. I'm not Igbo by the way. Its only common fact, which no man can deny. However, one would expect a little bit of logical or at least educated reasoning amongst nairalanders. But alas, what I see...If this is how Yorubas feel about Igbos, then what hope lieth there for national integration? A lost cause indeed. Smh.
You must be new on this forum. Majority of the Igbo posters call Lagos '' No mans Land'' claiming they have higher stake than Youruba's whom we all know historically till present are Lagosians and control the key aspect of her economy.

The Igbo posters called them names and insulted their sensibilities by calling Lagos '' No mans land''. How do you expect the Yoruba peeps to react when indeed they have allowed an Ibo man to contest for governor in a Yoruba state?

This is major step forward. Kudos to FG/GEJ!

I wonder what past administrations were thinking. Fix Electricity and Ajaokuta and watch everything else fall into place.

All the poverty alleviation gimmick will not manifest without those two. As an engineer, the future looks bright!!!. Next step is for us to start looking for ways to get into power metallurgy required for precision engineering and we are good to go.

The Konduga operation by the Nigerian army was very successful and he also claimed those that escaped are now willing to negotiate.

On seeing this now, I believe him!

Engineering/IT roles , okay.

But anything that is more of a supervisory role, you need to take up a bit by wearing a suit. It will make you look more matured.

jennylove7575: yes because the negative part is the cache of the story and its her supposed misfortune or rather testimony.... My point is, its very wrong to enter into marriage with a guy because of pressure or desperation. It is insane to spend the rest of ur life with a man u don't love. Op just talked about how she missed out on better men because of her born again looks or dressing..the clause I detest in the story is accepting the proposal of the man she didn't love out of desperation. The story is thoughtless.
Life is not perfect. She is just a realist..
You have not walked in her shoes so you can never judge her situation objectively.

She realized she got it all wrong and she is willing to accept her situation under the most realistic opportunity that came her way to marry.

Yes she was desperate, but she is also willing to learn to love what is available. Desperation produced results under this circumstance. Sometimes, desperation is good.

However, she delayed her joy and her choice may have been different if she didn't make the assumption that she got it all figured out (through religion). The exact subtle message in your quoted post is similar to her attitude as a young religious lady if one looks at it from a different POV.

It is a beautiful write up dear.

What the op was trying to get across was that there are some girls that don't socialise & take care of their exterior looks under the guise of religious piet. And that being a good christian doesn't mean u have to dress shabby & disassociate urself from people!
Else, u might end up in op's situation where she took a decision she might not have taken under normal circumstances! That's the moralsmiley

cr8v: I don't care what anyone says. When Boko Haram was buying, no one knew. If Christians decide to defend themselves it is a pity that it's fellow Christians that will write this trash. Stay there until Boko haram evolves to ISIS and start chasing you defenseless out of your country. The federal govt may not have told the whole truth but these jihadist know how to cover themselves that until now no one knows the sponsors of Boko and how they brought in heavy weapons into the country. At least it is not open in public circles. Festus, stay for Lagos I no blame you, you are not a northern Christian so you will not understand

Go and study history how turkey and some other former Christian nations to Islam. They did that by force from jihadists and there lack of unity amongst believers.
So governing Nigeria is now a Christian vs Muslim thing? You are comparing democratically elected government with bokohram in behavior. Therefore if bokoharam smuggle arms elected government that is established to cater for all irrespective of religious, ethnic and political affiliation should do same.

In essence lets turn everything into a free for all where no one is accountable anymore. Is that technically what you are asking for?

He connected a mobile phone to a camera with a little tweaking he was able to achieve that. Mobile phone manufactures built on his idea.
