Politics › Re: Fashola's Government Is Not As Good As You Think by rman: 7:29am On Jan 02, 2014
The biggest project in Lagos is not even on the island, so why are people always saying Fashola only cares about the rich?

Is the BRT scheme targeted at the rich?

Are the functioning street lights on mainland for the rich?

Are the numerous health centres and massive update on teaching hospitals for the rich?

Is the face lift done to public schools in Lagos done for the rich?

Is the uncompleted light rail project for the rich?

Are the numerous inner roads in surulere, Ikeja etc for the rich?

There is no way you would not have problems to be solved in any state, be it roads, health care, education, housing etc.

Saying a government that has made considerable effort in changing the outlook of a complex state like Lagos, has done nothing lacks a little objectivity.

In fact, ACN now APC owes it's popularity in southwest to Fashola. Residents in neighboring states like Ogun and Oyo voted for ACN candidates because they could see significant difference in the only ACN state, which was Lagos.

You want to profit or be protected from a situation the organization have little or no control over.

If you sue the bank for money stolen on their premises that has not been deposited yet, then, customers can also sue eatery, restaurants, filling stations and similar businesses for loses or valuables due to robbery on their premises.

Or do you think only banks get robbed?

Politicians have won. They have messed us all up we have no sense of holding them accountable anymore.

As an engineer, this is one of the best locally made projects I have come across. I am so impressed with how you built everything from scratch and the explanations offered for need for each component.

Nigeria can not move forward without serious investment in research and technology. In serious climes, youths like the OP are quickly harnessed with serious investment in their education.

Romance › Re: Why Do Women Feel That Sex Is All A Guy Wants? by rman: 4:00pm On Dec 28, 2013
Guys demand for sex as a form of security these days. The guys toast, maintain, and be there emotionally and still in most cases, the lady has the right to dump him if a better option presents itself to her. Guys have figured this out and now want sex so they won't lose out completely.

Also, the OP complained about ladies using it as a blackmail tool and it is completely true. The moment a lady gives it up, she starts making demands. Even some use it as a form of reward.
Once had a girlfriend that didn't want sex and I complied. I visited her in school and she was drinking garri for lunch, she didn't ask for money but I left $200 by her mattress without letting her know. On my next visit, immediately I entered, without me uttering a word, she locked her door, jumped on me and broke her own rule. I just shook my head and wondered why the sudden change of heart. My conclusion was, sex was her own way of showing appreciation for my kindness.

Dantedasz: Very exciting match between two attack minded teams coached by two attack minded managers.
Jose Mourinho can learn a lot from this game with his boring tactics.
Mourunho is a fraud!

I lost all respect I had for him as a manager when he starts playing defensive tactics with Heavly talented madrid team.

How can a coach have Ozil, Ronaldo, DMaria, Higuain, Benzema, Modric etc and still play defensive?
He has come to Chelsea with his boring approach. Swansea were the better team today and it only took a moment of brilliance for chelsea to win by a loan goal at home.

You can clearly see in this game two teams that are not afraid to go at each other and the result is a very entertaining game. Arsenal vs Chelsea last week was just so boring because of Morinho's negative approach. He won't win anything with Chelsea. You can't have so much talent and still go ahead and play like Stoke in the big games

Politics › Re: Nigeria Airbrushed Out Of Mandela’s Life Story by rman: 10:23am On Dec 12, 2013
We can blame whites till Jesus comes but the truth is the black race never evolved from the ones the whites colonized hundred of years back. Ethnicity, Religiosity, selfishness, bias, lack of logical reasoning and many more are profound attributes of Africans.
Those without these attributes are in the minority so we are where we are as a people today.
Mandela may have figured that out in solitary confinement
I can bet on my life that whites were able to colonize blacks because of all the attributes we see on display in black nation today.

I may sound racist and dumb but I think the times have proved we deserve to be colonized. The whites have left years ago but the political class have decided to re colonize her own people.
Unfortunately, the young generation isn't different. We will continue to play second fiddle till the end of the world and that's the truth.

Phones › Re: Why BIS Is Cheaper Compared To Other Data Plans by rman: 5:45pm On Dec 08, 2013
Carsonv: I was hoping someone who understands the concept of bandwidth would have commented by now.

Bandwidth is the amount of data or capacity of data your network can carry within a timeframe.

If MTN has a total bandwidth of say 400MB/s that means every second the total of data that passes through is 400MB.

If a BB phone compresses its data by 50% that means BB uses 200MB/s to transfer a 400MB data. This is against an Android or iPhone that'll use the whole bandwidth to send same data.

So you see, the logic makes sense. One android may be using same bandwidth as 20 BlackBerry phones.
Thank you. Most posters are too emotional to understand the simple message by NCC
Romance › Re: I Suspect My Boyfriend Is Cheating On Me! by rman: 5:09pm On Dec 07, 2013
Your boyfriend is making note pads with a cousin for a wedding you probably wasn't invited and you are still wondering if he is cheating.
If the relationship is indeed a serious one that will soon lead to marriage then that is rubbish. How can you be making serious plans with a man that you are not so sure a woman that is so close to him is his cousin or not? The fact that you have doubts shows you are not as close to this man as you think.
Based on your post alone, I can authoritatively say you are option number two in his life. He is definitely cheating. If you are indeed close, that close cousin will also be someone u can talk about a little. The info you have about her is so vague and he deliberately left it at that. She should be taking pictures with her own BF or brothers for souvenirs not your BF.

And pls don't let some men here deceive you they are so close to their female cousins their GF became jealous. Adults should act like adults and such and excuse shouldn't be coming from men that claim they are in serious relationship.

todayguest: Nigeria is a wonderful country. We're the best, when it comes to insults and destructive criticisms on govts and persons of authority. However, for solutions,we've none. Not too long, I saw a thread with the caption. " If you were made the President, how will you fix the country" Surprisingly, all the entries submitted were clueless and empty of solutions or ideas. Yet,these are the same people calling GEJ clueless. We need to change our attitude. That, is the first step to greatness.
That is why all Nigerians did not contest for the post of president and can't be president.
You analogy is poor. Asking people on a public forum what they will do if they were made president and expecting serious answers.

Politics › Re: Understanding The Oil Theft Business In Nigeria (All About Stolen Crude) by rman: 10:34pm On Dec 04, 2013
alj harem: @, I laughed when you kept calling Yoruba, I am a Lagosian and please IT IS NOT THE OIL FROM N/D THAT MADE LAGOS BUT THE PEOPLE.

OP I please answer the following questions

1. When was Crude oil found in Nigeria ?

Answer : 1956 in Oloibiri and drilling in 1967

2. Who was the president then that laid the foundation ?

Answer : Nnamdi Azikwe

Now lets start from the Genesis of this oil theft

1. How did these oil companies come to OUR N/D without the consent of our leaders ?

2. Who is the Federal government ? Is it just made of Hausas ?

3. How did Ibori and Alams make their wealth ? From Oil right (as your stated) are they also Hausas and yorubas ?

4. How did Tompolo and Asari get their wealth ?

5. Why are stolen Niger-delta money not used to develop the N/D but rather they will spend it in UK, USA, ETC even Benin republic ? Who is fooling who ?

6. All Oil companies and related now have been converted to Niger-delta and Igbo companies. Is it fair ? Was it like that in the past ? How wicked

7. Are they still Yorubas and Hausas ?

8. Chevron cannot transfer their HQ to Escardos because that is operational not HQ. HQ can only be in one place which can be Port-Harcourt and co but not an Operational base.

9. Why Lagos you ask ? I have also asked myself that question since I was born on this earth. Why has my home town become a land full of strangers and aliens from the east. It hurt me deep-down and any true lagosian will understand. Trust me no one will talk if all Oley companies transfer their base to wherever.

Alams, Tompolo, Asari, Ibori etc even ideiots like Peter Obi the bigot and co all have invested and build big houses in Lagos. Why ? Why not Abuja or their home town, why Lagos the state they hate to love.

I will employ you and other like minds of yourself to search deep down and protest to your leaders. Ask them questions like

1. Why are they not investing their stolen wealth in their state ? Why Uk and Lagos

2.What have they done with all the wealth they have stolen or acquired ?

3. Why are they buying private jets when roads are not constructed in their towns.

4. Why are they supporting oil theft but it is at it's highest now during GEJ.

5. Why is GEJ not splitting this COUNTRY ? You cannot be in the same country after GEJ and be comfortable after all these bigotry. One thing MUST GIVE.

6. Why do you all complain about the east-west road ? What do you need that for if the country is to split ?

We need to understand where we are coming from to know where we are going.

Romance › Re: I Can't Believe That Guys Will Sleep With Those Rough Looking Girls In Brothels by rman: 7:58pm On Dec 03, 2013
ronalmagic10: @ Alikason Guy, I have been following your posts on this thread and I noticed something. You can't differentiate between a prostitute and a girlfriend. The obvious reason is because you had or have a girlfriend who behaves like a prostitute by demanding money for sex but don't make the mistake of generalizing. It's not true at all.

A prostitute collect money and give sex in return without caring for you and your future and life while your girlfriend support you, love you, care for you, share in your dreams and help you become a better person.

As the man, it is natural for you to pay the bills when you go out together. Being that you love and care for her, it is commendable to show your love for her by getting her gifts or something worthwhile on her birthday, Valentine day, Christmas period or whenever you can. It's is not a bad thing to support her financially so that she can look good or to further her education and dreams, if you can.

However, it's wrong to demand sex or any form of intimacy from her. Trust me, sex should be an act of love and reproduction. Forcing her is equivalent to raping her. Be civil

The problem arises when materialistic girls offer sex in exchange for money. Thus, making guys think girls are prostitutes. There's a thin line between gold-digging girls and prostitutes so shine your eyes properly and use your brain
Stop contradicting yourself. You have only confimed his asertion with your post

Billyonaire: We have lots of bright minds with PhD and MSc searching for jobs, I say we fire all those lecturers and hire the productive minds.

Enough is always Enough.
Bright minds don't search for jobs, they create jobs.

The fields in which the PHD was received matters. For example, you don't sack a prof in engineering and expect another one to just fall into your lap.

My point is, sacking all lecturers is easier said than done.

Politics › Re: Boko-Haram Attacks Air-Force Base In Maiduguri by rman: 8:21pm On Dec 02, 2013
I shared your kind of views before. But at some point we all have to accept the reality and move on. Whether you accept it or not, the people in Boko Haram infested region, both their govt and elders, made this day a reality and we have no choice but to let them follow their heart desire which is - Islamic/sharia law for their land. If you think that's not why they're killing us then what is it? unemployment? - the last time I checked unemployment is a national problem yet people here are not killing because of it. Illiteracy? - well, they've had about 40 years of unfettered access to the leadership and resources of this country so I don't see how I should help them with the 20 pounds they gave my Dad.

So you see, no matter what anyone says the problem in the north is religious. Its a problem that has been incubating even before independence. Today that problem has delivered a full blown mess. So, bro there's no getting together on this one because even if we intend to, our help will be returned to us in body-bags. If you doubt it, search the number of Southern people who went to the north to help teach or vaccinate the core northern children but were returned in body-bags. These people we stick out our neck to love despise us and our ways. To them, we're morally bankrupt and scum of the earth, we're infidels who deserve death as mercy. I want to help but no one has told me how that can be achieved, hence my decision to move one with life. Perhaps, the only thing we can do is to wait for them to get back to common sense then, maybe then, we can help each other.

Lest I forget, when you mentioned we should get together it seems you forgot how Dr Junaid Muhammed threatened that the national conference call is a declaration of war. So, tell me how you intend to get together and sing Kumbaya with people who say getting together is an act of war. As if that was not enough, he threatened Lagos a few days ago. And this man is a well trained medical doctor not some ignorant fool, a highly respect man we're talking about here.

And please for the love of God, 9/11 and Boko Haram terror are like night and day. Boko Harams are resident here while 9/11 terrorists are into hit and run. Ours is different ok. We just happened to have resident devils. When you have a resident devil you change apartment, thats what you do.

Anyways, I can only say the reason some of us pander and absolve the nonsensical and atrocious excesses of the core north is because some of us are scared of them. There's no other reason for it. But I have news for those of us who have cold feet on this issue and its this - This is our lives and we only have one shot at it, one shot! not two, not three - only one. We can slavishly keep quiet and waste another 50 years talking about polio, almajiri, Boko Haram, dead NYSC memeber, national conference, Ango Abdulahi, born to rule, and Junaid Muhammed or we can spend another 50 catching up and out-pacing many Asian nations and having our flag flying on the moon with a message that beckons on the rest of Africa to join us in making the black race proud. The choice is ours.
Anyway, it is not looking good. I just don't want to believe or accept bokoharam have won.
