#1) We're together already. Unless by together you mean we should go up north and put out the fire with bare hands - If this is what you mean then I ain't down with that, you can take a ride up north if you want it that bad. And while you're going please remember to put some IEDs in a bag in case Dr Junaid Muhammed and his band of wahabi influenced Jihadists misinterpret your goodwill. #2) No, its not gonna happen. I used to think that before but now I know they don't have what it takes to cross down south. Yea, maybe they can come in once in awhile and hastily throw in some pop-can bombs but nothing serious. They can't set up shop in any southern region unless that region shares same ideology with them Jihadists. Bro, in this day and age its been well established that terror grows if and only if its homegrown. In a way, I feel for them northerners because its their city and future they're burning down but I don't know how an Eastern Christian like me can help bunch of self-entitled Jihadists who have vowed to decimate and enslave members of my faith and ethnicity. Hope you feel me.
This exactly the problem, I am talking about Nigeria, you are talking about north and south, and even called a Junaid as one of the supporters. I'm not a northnerner and don't live there. You have actually politicized this attack again. The average Hausa or fulani doesn't really care. It is because of politics that it grew into this. Buhari, Emirs Junaid etc that we all accuse are not the people we are fighting. If they are even the international community would have altered our intelligence authority here. What is happening is more! It is war. Unless, you are saying a community that is perpetually full of poor people all of sudden came about wealth to fight a war. I am not saying we should all carry weapons and move to the north. Coming together means the decision makers should all be on the same page. The blame game on northerners should stop. Mind you, it can't happen in the south is all in your imagination. USA with all her technology advancement and money spent on security didn't see September 11 coming. It just happened. |
Nigeria is at war! Northern Nigeria is under attack!!! We should see this as what it is, A DECLARATION OF WAR ON NIGERIA. We should not allow political, ethnic or religious affiliation to cloud our reasoning. This is no longer bokoharam, it has gone beyond that. Coordinated attacks on strategic Federal infrastructures should not be treated with kid gloves. All these reactionary attacks when damage has been done is rubbish. How many dead Nigerians/casualties is the FG/ Nigerian armed forces waiting for before we go on complete offensive. I don't care if they are in Cameron, Niger or Morocco. Go there and bomb them to shreads!!! We need to put a stop to this by going on the offensive. What's the use of all the road blocks and strong army presence in the north if airports can be attacked successfully? We all need to wake up and come together, if we allow them succeed in the north because we don't like northerners, it is just a matter of time, they will come for us all. By then, it may be too late. |
Forgive her and your friend but don't ever date the girl again. |
texazzpete: Yet another indication that the vast majority of Nigerians are gutless and cowardly.I deliberately didn't reply the ignorant fellow. You can deduce his response has political undertones. The opposition hijacked ASUU, how petty can the Jonathanians get. What is so difficult in putting in black and white and let the appropriate personnel append their signature to what was agreed upon? All the major issues that came up under this administration has been resolved only with emotional blackmail. They result to ethnic ( Odua gate) , religious ( bokoharam) , and some dubious shenanigans to have their way. Now they are trying to paint the lectures as bad people against the government, when it was the government that failed to keep its own promise in the first place. Nothing was resolved based on facts and logical approach. NOTHING! |
johnaruson: MTN i don port oh; Is the worst ads ever.Seriously? I think it is the best porting advert of all. Simple, funny and message was well driven home by poaching a competitors brand ambassador. |
alcuin: Sack all lecturers.Exactly the way the military would have handled this situation. Are you indirectly saying we are back in the military era? |
Simple logic should tell us all that if there is heaven, both Muslims and Christians will be found there. Christians will never accept OP's line of reasoning because it questions the fundamentals of which Christianity was built upon. I think both Islam and Christianity are still evolving and unfortunately for us all ( religious folks) , the answers will be provided by science ( the logical thinkers) The fact that testimonies and happenings in religious settings are being tailored to suit the times point to this. |
@OP Are you sure it was because your HR manager is a woman, that's why she didn't pick a woman (women hating women syndrome)or the better candidate got the job? Corporate organization are becoming smarter by the day and automatically promoting people into position because they are the best qualified in terms of experience is no longer the norm. I have seen cases where even people that have acted in a senior position for months lost out to candidates that has never worked in that capacity before. Do you know why? Some employees are not really ambitious, they only mark time thinking it will soon be my turn. They show very little interest in what they do daily and you will be surprised during the interview process a less qualified candidate will be more impressive during the interview. In such cases, the one you called less qualified will get the job. The era of "it is my turn" is over. You have to prove during the interview process you are the best. I once picked up a job that my boss and colleagues said I will never be invited for the interview because it requires minimum of five years relevant experience while I had only 6 months. I got the job! I thought it was a joke when I was called from HR to come pick up up a letter for my new role. I couldn't help but ask why didn't they pick the others with years of experience and better qualification, and the HR rep said " we all agreed you were the best during the process". The reason I was called was made to me later. Everyone, believed a particular candidate will get the job, some did not even bother applying. Unfortunately for this preferred candidate, he made the worst presentation of all. If you were to make a decision in such a scenario, will you still go ahead and pick such a candidate? I'm not saying that's what happened in your case but sometimes proper investigation of what really happened may completely be different from what you are trying to make us believe. Women hating women may be true but in serious organization such things don't come into play in selection process. |
Sincere 9gerian: Paid agent? Lol... APC e-warriors started calling me a paid agent right from the very first day I joined this forum. I am no longer bothered about blackmails.I actually think your initial approach is the best approach. If you bring your standard low because of fire for fire, you will indirectly become them. How? It will be difficult to separate what position each stand for in the long run, because both sides of the coin will become tails. A few needs to be able to separate the two. What I'm suggesting is sticking to your initial method, which is more about issues and facts. Best of luck. |
Sincere 9gerian: Nigeria go better. All that is needed is for people from the axis of EVIL -APC e-warriors, Tinubu, Buhari and Boko Haram- to give this president some breathing space.Learn how to make your points in support of GEJ without these obsession with APC, Tinubu and Buhari. When you first came, many took your opinion seriously concerning your subject GEJ. Right now, I think you have allowed your obsession with the opposition to make you lose focus. You are indirectly giving credibility to those that call you a paid agent with most of your post these days. |
They do... look closely around you. The choice of word, " DETEST " in your topic is wrong. There maybe more intra Igbo marriages than other tribes in Nigeria, that doesn't mean they detest marrying outside their tribe. |
Danhumprey: I would go with #75k per month, provided there would be job security. If you chose #3million,it would be exhausted in no time, unless you invest it. But I would rather go for 75k per months. It would suffice me. It's dangerous to be keeping a large sum of money with you.Pls, how old are you? When did 3M become large sum? Your statement will only be appropriate if it is coming from a JSS student. Your reasons for choosing 75K option is so childish it is unbelievable. |
You can't catch me |
cjudy: They just build it to look like Whatsapp. am surprise bb is imitating whatsapp now...... no bbm will be like android own jorYou don't know what you are saying. |
Jonathan won in 2011 majority of northerners didn't like him but Nigeria didn't break up. Why are we now having so many Nigeria will break up if Jonathan loses in 2015? Is this not exactly the same RULE AT All cost/ do or die kind of political mentality we all accuse northerners off. I think out political environment is still evolving, with a stronger opposition, everyone now sits up. Nigeria won't break up in 2015, this merger just confirms it. We now have two strong national party which I think is a good development |
Suarez is one of the top three strikers in the world right now! |
Energito: I have heard all that u guys have said.but if i brk up with her now i will loose cux i nva chop anything from her since we know eachother due to the distance nd beside she told me that she still a vriginBased on this response, you deserved to be dumped. You also have ulterior motives, and she probably could tell from your attitude. If your feelings for her are genuine like u claimed, you would not write the rubbish above. |
I hope the members of NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF UNEMPLOYED GRADUATES are seeing this. Think! There is always is something left to be done. |
I love this! Logical reasoning at its best. Can't wait to see the remaining part |
Telecoms pay more than banking and I expect to see at least one of the telecommunications CEO's on this list based on the annual packages I saw. |
Too all the tribal bigots on nairaland that have now turned it into a career, keep sowing seeds of discord on this forum. You all are pathetic individuals. Do you people go out at all? What do you all have to gain by the rubbish you all post? I knew nairaland is doomed when politicians now see it as a tool to be used to put up lies and mislead uniformed people with access to Internet. Unfortunately, the ethnic bigots have taken the bait hook, line and sinker. The joke is on all of you. Regular Nigerians still go about their business in all nooks and cranny of this country without anyone having the kind of pathetic mentality you all display here. When some posters and foreigners say Nigeria is a country full of dumb people, we will all come together and cry foul. A simple visit to nairaland, Nigeria’s biggest online forum and going through comments people make simply confirms that. There is a proverb that says " when you point a finger at someone, the remaining four are pointing back at you ". The scary part is I assume majority of this foolishness is being displayed by youths. Youths that we all hope will bring the positive change we expect. Why come online to blame our leaders when we can only see issues through only ethnic, religious and political bias? IBB was absolutely right when he claimed the next generation are not prepared to lead. Our leaders have not failed us, WE HAVE FAILED OURSELVES. |
Nothing. Your mum is a very wise woman. I can see you are an adult already, focus on your education and don't let this distract you at school. If your dad still supports the home and family like he used to, then there is no reason to panic. Also, he may just be having an affair and there maybe no concrete plan of marrying the lady outside yet. If you gang up against him and make the home unbearable because you know already, you will only hasten the process and he will eventually think he has to Marry this lady. But, if there is a glaring decrease in the standard of living in your home due to his affair, let your mum be the first to talk to your dad about it. You can do a follow up when he is in a good mood and let him know this isn't how the home used to be. If your dad has been a responsible father before, he will make the necessary adjustments. Be very very cautious in bringing family members and friends into the situation, most times, they only help escalate the tension in the home more. Responsible fathers/men sometimes slip and have affairs but they wouldn't want a broken home because of it. In fact, guilty conscience in some cases will make them become extremely nice when around the family. All my statement above is just for a father that is responsible. If he is not and doesn't really care about the home before, you should also do NOTHING. Focus on making something out of your life soon with the hope of getting your mum out of the situation. Mind you, your mums passive attitude may also mean she has been duly informed or carried along. Yes, no woman wants to share her man, but the reality is women have lived and continue to live in polygamy. You didn't say much about your dad apart from this affair so I will assume he has played his part well so far in the home and that's why you are in shock. Lastly, you can ignore my earlier messages and confront him, fight with him, tell him to his face this is unacceptable etc. You can even let your mum see reason why she should fight etc. This may work, but if it doesn't, it is the alternative that will break up your home quicker than you expect. |
Rubbish! |
Grown ups shouldn't be doing this. What's happening. ? |
If a young player shows tremendous talent at U17 level, why not? Pele, Owen, Theo Walcot, etc are a few examples of players that made senior world cup squads before they became 18yrs old. Players develop at different rates and we should not for our own selfish reasons slow anyone down. Yes, we will be dumb to think U17 players can be moved in bulk to senior national team but I think one or two that has shown tremendous talent can be tried to see if they are ready to make the leap A name that ready comes to my mind is IHENACHO. That kid can run with the ball at his feet and pass, an obvious flaw in Mikels game. Mikel is naturally a deep lying midfielder, we use him as a 10 because we have no one presently. God of soccer has sent IHENACHO, I strongly believe if given a chance he will make the team and perform well. I have never felt so passionate about a Nigerian talent since Okocha and Kanu were discovered. |
![]() This is what happens when people do what they are not really passionate about. I'm certain she aced the recruitment process of the auditing firms she has worked with so far. Most times the conventional selection process is not the best way to recruit staff. She has no business being an auditor in the first place. A lot of people are in corporate world with similar bottled up emotions. Methinks she is on her way to discovering what she really wants to do with her life. She just wrote a letter, others may shoot or physically abuse those colleagues and bosses. As childish as her ranting may seem, she raised some valid points and a smart organisation can learn a thing or two from it and act appropriately. Her complaints about " eye service ", and bosses that can't see beyond their nose are very common trends. I will suggest she finds her way into the music business as a judge or analyst, I think she will feel more at home there. |
It so glaring when you see cities that have power. Look at Luanda at Night, beautiful! And we keep deluding ourselves we are the giant if Africa. Abuja doesn't even come close to this due to lack of power and a few shabby settlements . Other African countries are fast catching up. Let us keep practicing ethnic politics, religious bigotry, continue to embrace corruption,in a few years threads will spring up on social media on how Angolans hate Nigerians. Because we soon start trooping there. It is just a matter of time. Why? Because we lack the capacity to develop by ourselves. It is not due to the system of government, it is the people. Nigeria is a dark country where majority are not smart but think they are. Unfortunately, this illogical species far outnumber the logical ones and are multiplying at an astronomical rate that we will soon end up with the dumbest nation on earth. |
See the lazy and weak generation. What is so difficult in pounding yam? If you are a teenager and can't pound yam, you are just weak and probably lazy. An for those comparing poundo yam to real pounded yam, the difference is clear like night and day. And this pounding process that everyone is complaining about is less than an hour if you know what you are doing. Pounded yam is a good meal and the pounding process gives your body a little exercise while you are at it. When growing up, we are all boys with just one girl (last born) and pounded yam is the standard meal for lunch on Sundays. All of us struggle to take part because we see it as a show of strength. The moment you see it as work, you definitely won't like it. |
