Events / Ever Heard Of A Google Doodle? by Rocktation(f): 3:18pm On Feb 29, 2020
If you've attempted to run a search today on google's engine, you may have noticed that the "Google" is looking different from what you knew. It's only google, doodling their logo.

Google Doodles are pictures and animations that occur on the search engine “Google” on special holidays, birthdays of famous people, and google events such as Doodle For Google and Google’s Birthday. Today's doodle though, no doubt celebrates the leap day.

Doodles were started in 1998, and continues to improve through not only motionless pictures, but also games, Ai software, moving characters, and more. These doodles commonly appear in place of a letter or two in the google word, while some make the entire word “google” bouncy, a different font, size, or color. Most update or change every day or so, while some days simply returning to the typical logo.

In addition to celebrating many well-known events and holidays, Google Doodles celebrate artists and scientists on their birthdays, including Albert Einstein, Mahatma Gandhi, Nikola Tesla, Leonardo Davinci and very recently, our very own Ameyo Stella Adadevoh, the Nigerian martyr who curbed a wider spread of the Ebola virus in Nigeria by placing the patient zero, Patrick Sawyer, in quarantine despite pressures from the Liberian government.

Interestingly, these combinations of facts and history to create over 200 doodles each year that are seen by billions of people every day, are done by only a team of five full-time google doodlers (Yes! It's a real job role).

CrazyMan:

Safest precaution method for now is to avoid Chinese people. As degrading as this sounds is that they will have little or no screening upon entry into the country. Their white skin qualifies them to move around the country with unrestricted access.

The government will keep slumbering until cases and casualties are being recorded and confirmed.

The best is to keep yourself and family safe... Happy New year.

Instead of them to reassure people as to how they plan to effectively keep the epidemic off our borders, they are arrogantly saying that they cannot stop people from coming to the country. Senseless and insensitive as always. It's every man for himself, really.

Take a trip to Australia and see how their border control officers scrutinize an ordinary apple, even without any rumors of a disease outbreak. Nigerians are there, surviving on a prayer. Na dem sabi.

Happy new year, man! Good to see that you're still very much around.

FloraEC:

Fruits are more nutritious than pap no matter what is combined into it. Some children are allergic to soybeans (my children for example). And is not only fruits that are pureed. Vegetables even food(beans/yam/potatoes etc) are either mashed or pureed. Pap/tombrown are good but you must add something to make it nutritious, funny enough my children prefer custard grin
I make smoothie and I don't purge and I can't mash/puree something that would be unhealthy to my child.
Those cereals are actually blended rice, oat, maize/corn etc.

True, but vegan diets for babies come with their own significant risks. Infact, more babies become diarrhoel after only fruits and veggies than they do after only good carbs. There is really no class of food that cannot be overdone no matter how wonderful the combos might seem. The kinds of purees I see here sometimes sef, create frightful images. Adding milk to mashed potatoes and tomato paste...just nasty stuff.

The fallacy that pap has nothing to offer as people often peddle, also confuses me. Corn itself, although not a first stop for vitamins, does contain a small amount of the vitamin, while millet, with its low glycemic index has vitamins, proteins, photonutrients... and can definitely not be bad nutritional trade offs especially since it's for a very short stretch of the babies' lives that these would be given and many mothers will breastfeed alongside anyway.

Everybody is different, surulady. I don't know how good of a wife you have portrayed yourself to be to them, otherwise, all it takes for some people is just to smile less often, to pass some message across. And it's always better to maintain a good name, if you can help it. However, if you can't, you still should not start off resisting with fire fire oo. Just work on your husband...and with sense as well.
In all, to make her presence bearable, just keep reminding yourself that she will not stay in your house forever.

My sister if you ask me who I go ask? The matter taya me. Even the people preaching it stated taking akamu @ 3 months. Cos personally, I believe my mother gave me akamu at that age and nothing do me, ayam perfectly okay.

Some babies even reject breast milk from birth self, I wonder why it's now do or die affair.

Infact, i even want to recommend the good old guineacorn/millet/soyabean pap. I'm not sure why or how all our computer age mums concluded (if they did) that it's not nutritious and now prefer all these canned big grammar food and crazy purées of uncountable fruits and what not. I'm even surprised that ALL babies do not purge after these crazy mixtures. I would, as an adult.

Every other month for two people makes you a superwoman, maybe. But every month in our normal Nigeria oo, not central area Abuja.. not much...don't let people mislead you.

It's not about the money not being available per say, but about not being intentionally gluttonous and wasteful..cooking 10 different soups in one week with all kinds of animal for what and using some miraculous fragranced bar soap so you can start smelling like some plant...that doesn't make a healthy fly life if you ask me.

Good day belleful mamas, I went for antenatal today and I was given a drug different from what I usually take, I complained to the pharmacist she told me the drug she gave me was my doctor's prescription, so I want to ask if anyone have used this drug before?

Have you ever heard of the FDA? Briefly, it's a federal government agency of the United States, that is saddled with the responsibility of impacting/regulating public health through the supervision and control of such things as drugs, vaccines, cosmetics, dietary supplements, even sperm donation. Suffice to say, it is like the NAFDAC of the entire world. Countries that are smart enough, produce significant portions of the food and medical products that the USFDA approve for Americans to consume and use in their everyday lives.

Now, the FDA through their laudable research, came up with a specific standard for dietary supplements that a pregnant woman should exercise, to safely develop a fetus...especially in cases where there might be nutritional gaps, cos you never know. They ask you to look for any prenatal vitamin that includes:

400micrograms (mcg) of folic acid.

400 IU of vitamin D.

200 to 300 milligrams (mg) of calcium.

70 mg of vitamin C.

3 mg of thiamine.

2 mg of riboflavin.

20 mg of niacin.

6 mcg of vitamin B12.

10 mg of vitamin E.

15 mg of zinc.

17 mg of iron.

150 micrograms of iodine

In all my time in Nigeria, the only readily available prenatal I know that follows this standard to the letter and adds more in some of its versions, is Pregnacare. Sadly, a lot of patients think it's expensive. So what better way would you suggest the problem be alleviated and still targeting a similar outcome, than to recommend substitutes that closely follow the standard? Sadder still is the fact that most people these days (even Naija docs succumb too) will just pick three to four, out of them all -- maybe folic acid, calcium, iron....and be happy with their decision...even though we are a meatpie generation and don't eat as appropriately as our forefathers who didn't use supplements.

So so so....Pregna Multi is neither new, nor is it bad. I used to know it and it sure will do. I know it contains all the required nutrients, but some are a few milligrams off the standard. You can compare the constituents written on the pack with the list above or any list of the standard dietary supplements for pregnancy you know, to get the assurance you need.
