Thats good news. Do you have specific stats on how much the school attendance increased? 100k cooks sounds excessive but what ever.
If you ever find the the stats, please let me know. I've been asking for 2 years now. But we prioritise photo ops over sound feedback...but whatever.
Politics / Re: T.Y Danjuma Worth $1.2bn, Owns International Hotels – Bloomberg by RoyalPriesthuud(m): 3:28pm On Jun 28, 2019
wirinet:

If you read the report devoid of the preconceived bias of "he was dashed an oil block" you will see that what he bought was an oil exploration licence;

If you remove the bias from your head, you will realise than an oil exploration license is different from an oil mining license.

An oil exploration licence is like a gamble. If you find substantial oil deposits, you hit jackpot; if you find nothing, you lose your millions of dollars spent on the exploration plus the exploration licence fee.

After finding oil in commercial quantities, you then apply and pay millions of dollars for oil mining licence which allows you to actually drill the oil.
Lol, joker. If you remove emotions from your head you would know TY would never pay $25mil for an exploration license in a barren field.

The comment I replied to was trying to paint Abacha a saint because TY played his game well and Abacha is dead and actual net worth unknown. The process of awarding OELs and OMLs are opaque and corrupt, bringing a 'bias' strawman to my mention doesn't change that.

Those guys Stole the country blind recklessly... Sometimes I feel Abacha might even be a saint complained to what these animals stole
Abacha gave him the oil well that he made him a billionaire for $25mil. He would sell half of it ten years later for $1.8bn. How can Abacha be a saint in this scenario

Not for public consumption....

It's an electronic way of submitting your POP scripts online..

At the moment, the school portal is undergoing maintenance.

The e-scripts page surfaces cos its vital to the smooth running of the ongoing POP exams..

Hey, does that mean the portal will not be open until after the POP exams?

Business / Re: Jim Ovia: We Need More Private Sector Involvement In Education by RoyalPriesthuud(m): 3:23am On Apr 12, 2019
abnot:

Quality education cost money. Nigerians will not get that with 50k per term tuition while being taught by academics with minimal research funding. A politician will rather flow with the masses and let things be the way they are while he/she enjoys a smooth tenure . Till the masses push for reforms in all sectors nothing will change.

Education is expensive, but Nigerians are poor or skirting around poverty. 92.x% of Nigerians live on less than $5.5 a day. It is why economic growth in the real sector(manufacturing) is desperately needed to provide high paying jobs. The root cause of people protesting fee hikes is poverty.

The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, who's from South West Nigeria has been tagged to the tweets, Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has been called into too, and the attention of the incoming Governor has been sought too.

There is nowhere in the world this sort of nonsense is done.

"Save our roads in Ibadan." Residents cry.
Telecom companies pay Right-of-Way per metre/km of cable laid, exorbitant even as par the National Broadband Plan. I doubt it's in their agreements to fix the roads. This problem is probably caused by local officials who pocket the funds and refuse to deliver their end of the bargain.

Culture / Re: Ooni Of Ife: The Igbo Race Is First In The World To Discover, Nurture Wealth by RoyalPriesthuud(m): 2:41am On Apr 05, 2019

So it is the jews that are Igbo, and not the other way round? Interesting historical spin.. This man seems to cook up his own history.

Not necessarily. Just that this man seems to have a penchant for cooking up stuff. Igbo commercial renown is a relatively recent phenomenon. Before Nigeria came to be/precolonial period there was nothing like an 'Igbo race' as we have come to know it today. Igbo clans weren't as enterprising as Igbos of today are known for. Yoruba history doesn't have records of early contact between them and Igbos the way it did with Hausa-Fulani, Benin, Mali, and the likes. So where did he get his tales from? Obviously it's fabricated.

It is your prerogative to choose to believe the Ooni if it fits the narrative that suits you. But you see, you can't impose that on me or any other person that can see through his fib. Ooni once said that Benin is Yoruba territory, that Adam and Eve were created in Ife, and now he says Jews are Igbo descendants. You can choose to believe all of that but some of us aren't so stupid. undecided
We Africans tend to overestimate our past, and it's because the present is lacking.

Good.

He's always been explicit in his refusal, stating where the conflicts lie and sundry times, the national assembly has had to rework or reword the bills which he ultimately signed.

The assembly should be more thorough with the bills and not leave room for consequent conflict and litigation.
The same way he refused to sign the PIGB into law because it will "whittle down" his powers as Minister of Petroleum? angry
