@ OP, people from broken homes would come here to diss you because they are still in denial and are yet to accept their hildhood. You are brave, success in your endeavours.
HealthRe: Lagos Ebola Patients Neglected,critically Ill – Relatives,colleagues by royalsweetness(f): 6:16am On Aug 15, 2014
Asking for international help over 10 Ebola patients because nobody is ready to stop looting for a second and focus on public health. If it were possible for the Nigerian government to dig a mass grave and throw in every infected/contact person once traced, they would have done that long ago.
FamilyRe: MAN\WOMAN Contributing Money To Finance Their Wedding. by royalsweetness(f): 1:32pm On Aug 14, 2014
I believe the man should pay the bride price all by himself but all other costs concerning entertainment, white wedding and all the other unneccesary drama should be shared equally between the man and the woman. Or the richer person, whatever gender should carry the heavier responsibility.

America could be behind ds Ebola just so that we will accept their Gay mission without which there will be no cure 4D disease
IN THIS EVIL WORLD, D MORE U LOOK D LESS U SEE
They haven't even agreed to give you the drugs yet you are already formulating your funny conspiracy theories.

You illiterates are beginning to make my life unbearable on nairaland. Everything the average Nigerian politician says is propaganda, geared towards the next election. Get behind me Satan!

HealthRe: FG Not Serious About Fighting Ebola –doctors, Nurses by royalsweetness(f): 7:31am On Aug 11, 2014
People in government are still seating down somewhere figuring out how to get their cut out of the Ebola allocation, I've never seen a more greedy and insensitive generation of thieves. As of this stage, government should have provided so much protective clothing that care workers never have to reuse one, maybe even for normal citizens too because how do you convey a sick person to the hospital without touching him. They are waiting for America and WHO to provide protective clothing for us too, I pray Ebola wipes them all out so that for once we can have an experience of being led by sane people, I live for the day GEJ would decide to visit an Ebola isolation unit and shed some of his legendary tears, but of course that's not gonna happen

HealthRe: Two More Nigerians Confirmed With Ebola, 139 On Surveillance by royalsweetness(f): 11:19pm On Aug 10, 2014
ollah1: Why? What for? You know too well the disease will further transmit to other people. It could affect your friends and families. Won't u rather stay and die alone than be on the run and kill people you love?
That's because you know too well so you assume every illiterate Nigerian citizen knows as well as you do, the Nigerian government were grossly irresponsible in its manner of handling the Ebola outbreak and are to blame if anyone decides they stand better chances from running away.
HealthRe: Two More Nigerians Confirmed With Ebola, 139 On Surveillance by royalsweetness(f): 5:27pm On Aug 08, 2014
ollah1: Furthermore, the family of the nurse that passed out lately are on the run. ON THE RUN!. where are they running to? Infecting other innocent civilians. Hmm! Watching closely!
If its you won't you run? Being quarantined by Nigerian government would be equivalent to putting every contact person together to infect themselves and die together

Crazy how even first year students have to be careful going into second years classes etc. I don't understand the need among most Nigerians to always make sure they is someone beneath them whom they can oppress when they want to. If most of them are given the opportunity, they would transfer the excessive flogging and corporal punishments they metted out on innocent young souls in boarding schools to the university too.
FamilyRe: Is It Right For A Man To Share His Matrimonial Bed With His Cousin Sister In The by royalsweetness(f): 7:27am On Jul 15, 2014
Is it totally impossible to just share a bed with a cousin. She won't do it when the wife is there cuz the wife would probably be sleeping on that bed, but the wife travelled and there's all the extra space. There's really nothing sacred about the 'matrimonial bed' as a physical funiture. Anyone that wants to sleep on it can sleep on it. Committing adultery on it however would amount to defiling it. But how can you conclude that a man and his cousin committed adultery on his matrimonial bed in the same house with his male relatives and his wife's sister. Most people won't commit adultery that obviously, talkmore incest so control your hyper-active imagination.
FamilyRe: Help A Nairalander To Pay His House Rent by royalsweetness(f): 6:50am On Jul 15, 2014
The fact that nairalanders have helped people in the past doesn't mean they are now silly enough to pay a 175k house rent for an entitled jobless man.
FoodRe: Please Can Someone Tell Me The Recipe For Ji Mmiri Oku And How To Cook It. by royalsweetness(f): 8:37am On Jun 29, 2014
Ingredients
Yam
Pepper
Dry fish
Crayfish
Seasoning
Utazi leaf
Some other igbo spice I don't know the name but not compulsory.
How to cook
Cut the yam into smaller pieces, put in a pot and add enough water to cover the yam. Cook for about 5 mins, then add the all the other ingredients. The only secret is not to let the yam water thicken before adding the ingredients as that would lead to a pot of yam porridge cheesy. Boil till yam gets done, then add the utazi leave or scent leave if no utazi.

miz Gene: I'm afraid she can't help you. Your visa n passport is in your name not hers...try ur own bank,I know gtb doesn't give sha...
Plenty questions.
At what rate do you withdraw with your gtb mastercard over there. Do they use the official mastercard rates to convert or what. Secondly, how do I withdraw from my domiciliary (pounds) account in the UK (since the bank doesn't give atms for it).

Can I just take the money I'd need for the first one month, and leave the rest in my gtb current account. Or are there any advantages to converting much money first before leaving.

miz Gene: I didn't bother with Mandilas o.
If u hv at least 2 to 3 thick sweaters and many cotton body tops to layer with for d 1st two days b4 u get to a shop, dts ur best bet.Mandilas will never give u d variety u need. Forget d shoes entirely, just wear sneakers or canvass or Watever will allow u wear socks inside to keep warm especially if you hv to do plenty waka from airport to ur destination.

About food, I had lots. fish, crayfish, ground ogbono, Egusi, Achi (thickener, heard arrowroot is a gd sub for this here).dried bitterleaf, ghana abi na cameroun pepper, palm oil(froze it, n wrapped in paper) and 2 bags of plantain chips lipsrsealed.d fish n crayfish am sure wd hv been abt 6-8kg.
Plenty onions here, okro too so u may want to use dt space for something else.
Cool thing was, wen it got to my turn to be searched, I put by box up,n opened d zip care freely wink d guy der just looked at me n said I shd move ahead grin .ds happens to me 80% of d time, der must be something about my face cheesy.
Not dt I was scared of them removing anything o, dy hardly ever do unless it's just too much n u seem rude to dem. Was worried about dem scattering my meticulously packed bag.
Good idea. Would this work for Aberdeen too? I hear it's tres cold.

bunburized: @miz gene
What are the food items you left Nigeria with? I will also appreciate if you can advice from experience the quantity of each item I can pack. Are fish(dried), pepper, onion and crayfish allowed?
I was at Mandilas yesterday to purchase winter jacket, shoe, headglove and others but couldn't find anything I like. The jackets where 'just there' but the shoes where complete whack.
Any pointers to where I can get something decent?
Someone told me I can only get great ones in the UK.

bunburized: I just stepped out of Diamond bank branch around my area after filling loads of forms with £2,440 in my pocket at a mouth watering rate of 262.
I advice anyone that has already gotten their visa and booked their flight to just head to their bank with the documents and request for BTA. You must have an account with any bank you intend visiting(so I was told).
However, diamond bank amongst all the banks I run an account with has the best rate.
It doesn't need much explanation and it should be a straight forward transaction.
I didn't have to beg anyone nor even know anyone.
Thank me later.
Wow, hope it would remain same tomorrow or even get better. I should change mine tomorrow.

bunburized: Whoever told you that should be sacked. As long as you can present your international passport(with valid visa) and a confirmed flight ticket they are suppose to sell to you.
I took my international passport and a copy of the printout of my e-ticket to the various banks I listed above and they honored it. Most if not all banks sell foreign currencies for BTA/PTA. That I am 100% sure.
Lol@sacked. I hadn't gotten my visa last time I tried, but with this info, I'd try using the bank again.

Xteeeee:Ok thanks will do that tomorrow, I wish this currency rate reduce to 240

bunburized: I got my ticket from wakanow and the agent asked if I needed insurance which I kindly declined because the charge(50k +) was way too astronomical.
This is the reason I was asking about Air France's reputation. I won't find it funny if after landing Manchester I'm told one "cock and bull" story how my baggage grew legs o.

Anyone lucky with getting pound sterling from any of our local banks?
Zenithbank said they don't have. Diamond promised Monday. Accessbank was selling 267.60 when Diamondbank told me 263 so I just walked away. Ecobank seem to have the best rate as they told me their rate for Friday is 261 but they did not have.
Even though they are all insisting they can only sell the pound equivalent of $4000(£2400+) it is still scarce or rather they are hoarding.
Please what is the current black market rate?

I may not have the patience to wait anymore if by Monday they are still stalling.
First and last time I tried changing money at the bank, I was told CBN had banned banks from changing money. Do banks still change money?

gonelsystems: I am applying to UKBA and want to know if its okay to have funds in my personal account and to also present my legal Guardians account with a court statement showing that he is my Legal guardian. Also, if my program is for 2yrs, do i need to show the total amount for the cost of living for the entire 2 yr period or one year
You need to show your maintenance for just the first nine months of your stay too. Yes if the money in your account is not complete, and you have no better options, then you can show your legal guardian's account too, its left for them to believe whether he really is your legal guardian or not.

You'll need all the time to excel over in Aberdeen provided you make good use of it wink wink
Hehe, now it's the 'problem with Africa' thing as if you are Asian. Spare me the crap biko. Well, I'm not in Aberdeen yet, so you are the one who needs all the time in whatever school you are in. And while at it, don't forget to learn some manners before coming back to Nigeria. If I was meeting you for the first time in real life and asking you a question about anything at all, you won't call me foolish to my face and expect me to say thank you sir, except ofcourse you are a mad person. So don't do it because you are in a faceless forum. Especially when there are tons of other people giving well-mannered replies.
