CBN CLEARING HOUSE: OUR PLAYGROUND (The Last King of The Unwashed) When I saw a mail from HR directing my change of job function, I did not bear any grudge. Perhaps because I had spent quite some time in my former unit and itched for a change, or because I had known the team of staff I was going to work with; though I had never worked with them directly, they were my friends. My new supervisor and his team gave me a soft landing. They made me feel at home and it was like the old times, allowed me some time to handover my previous assignment and assisted me settle down. when I ‘settled down’, it was time to ‘introduce’ me to the Clearing House; that was the core function of a clearing staff- representing your bank in CBN as regards cheque clearing matters. A bank not being represented in the House any day was ominous. So, every bank made an appearance every other day, even if they had no cheque to ‘clear’. The clearing House made clearing to be one of the most interesting units I have worked in so far throughout my banking career; my present unit doesn’t offer me the kind of fun I experienced as a clearing Rep. |
Welcome back Chinweblink. But if Chioma, Nnaemeka's sister, is bewitched, then she didn't sow what she is reaping. I suggest you modify that place you declared 'THE END' so as to direct new readers aright. |
@ Royver, I read you. Thanks a lot. |
EnlightenedSoul:. You can say that again |
EnlightenedSoul:Yes o! If you have seen what I'm talking about, then you'll understand. Some women will only resort to cuddling and patting the child to keep them quite in public, instead of doing the needful. Once in a while you see husbands and Grandmas explode on some of such ladies. Sad. |
EnlightenedSoul:Those ladies who starve their babies need to hear the bolded. |
mutter:It's a big deal for some ladies, they starve their babies; hence my advice below. ruffhandu: |
I am feeling you Candy. You do what you have to do. So long as your write-up is online, theft is inevitable. But, DO NOT for any reason let people kill your writing dreams. Even if you don't post your stories online, keep your writing pad warm. You get better by doing. Your publications no man shall block. You are really good. |
Hello Royver, I want to thank you and Whitemosquito, in fact, everyone participating in this, for all your efforts. I appreciate your inputs and am greatly encouraged, even at this. Lol @ " There is argument as to how plant life would have survived without sunlight/photosynthesis for twelve years...". But, this is fiction and the clarification lies in "Every energy we used came from electricity and the moon." Funny. But I really want to know why you highlighted the 'sun' in "...which they described as resulting from an orbital shift of the sun." Your criticism is very healthy for me and I appreciate that. Taking only that away from here, for me, is perfect. God bless you. |
@ losprince, Perhaps I didn't understand what you meant by Omo cool story but you have to take a break |
@ losprince, The issue is being fixed. Try copying the story and notice what has been done. |
It's like some buttons have been deactivated on this section, like 'copy' button, not 100% sure yet. But when it was suggested someone said it was 'not possible'; people sha. I hate the word 'impossible' anyway, perhaps because it doesn't really exist, better to use 'very difficult' in its stead. A good step in the right direction by Nairaland. |
cococandy:You tell me. |
Good attempt Femi. But: you got carried away and mixed up the use of 'I' and 'she' You need to check your tenses You need to check your spellings eg, you wrote 'fill' instead of 'feel' Just be consistent You seem to have typed in a hurry. In all, nice try. |
UGLYS:Mention the mugger's name joor. Just assume you are in Ghana right now and you are typing with my fingers. People need to know him, either to treat his mess, or to avoid his routes. |
UGLYS:Why are you afraid of calling his name? You are afraid, even here? |
But how come the little girl didn't shout? I hope it was actually a rape case, for if not for the light from the okada, Pastor and Okadaman wouldn't have known anything was happening. |
Hello Candy, I hope you're doing great. Cheers! |
Phew! The rate at which threads are being pulled down in this section today is amazing, even the one created by the owner of NL since 2013. |
For the records, before you post any story here, you need to secure your copywrite claims. Laykorn advised on https://www.nairaland.com/2111154/fight-against-plagiarism-getting-ownership last time, I think people should consider that. If you cannot stress yourself any bit and must post your story online, then start as Laykorn advised. |

kaya09:You are right. The sources are endless, you are one of them. |
The first stories I read on NL were by Mynd44 (The Guardians: Rise of the Powers that Be) and Frank3.16 (All posted here). I even had to call Frank and spoke with him on phone, he had elicited an interest that caught my attention that period - alogbaga. I followed every of Frank's story. I made my suggestions and corrections on phone. I also got some explanations on some issues from him. Frank complained when I called him about one of his works- "reincarnation". He said someone was stealing it so he had to halt the work, here at least. I want you guys to understand some things: So long as you post a story online, it is exposed to theft; be it NL, your blog, your FB page or a secret group on FB, so long as someone else has access to it online. Some plagiarists even go as far as typing a published work. One was doing it here sometime and another stated the name of the book he was copying, he simply ignored the comment, meanwhile, others were cheering him on. I have accessed some engineering books in some sites, where the worst you can do is read the books for free, all 'copy' (ctrl+C and 'print scrn' ) and ‘print’ buttons deactivated. I suggest NL makes the literature session like that, without denying members access to post comments. Some people would stop correcting you if you are in the habit of ignoring them; they are neither paid nor monitored to correct you after all. So, inasmuch as you feel readers should encourage you, you should also encourage your readers. A woman has no satisfaction whom nobody ate the delicious meal she cooked. Candy does well on this. So, even though we are making efforts to put an end to this evil, we need an open mind. I know it hurts, but trust my word, they can steal all they can of your product, they cannot steal the source. Your works shall bring you before kings. |
But she said the truth na, GEJ may even get more than 2.4million votes from Rivers state from the way I see the equation tilting. I am still straining my ears to hear Amaechi. I searched to see him protest as he vowed, for where? |
It's really painful. It's just sad Nigeria has little or no cybersecurity team. Keep your calm Candy. |
