You are just a typical Nigerian. Wrong a statement without a counterargument. He made himself bigger. The handball rule now is very funny, it doesn't have to be unintentional. Go watch the replay in slow motion. When the ball hit his knee, it was going over his head and he intentionally kept the ball in his playing distance with his hand. So, he changed the trajectory of the ball. If the ball hit your leg and then your arm but didn't change the trajectory, it's no handball. Sometimes when your arm just controls the ball down in front of you after hitting your leg, it's no handball. If you have played football before, you know you can control all the parts of your body. The only time it is a bit difficult is when you are jumping. So, players think very well before jumping cos once they are on air, it's difficult to control some parts of their body. This does not suppose to be VAR decision. It was obvious during the game. pek:

VAR must be just. There was an obvious handball in the buildup to Leceister's goal. It was very obvious. The hand changed the direction of the ball, so it was handball. When the ball hit the leg of the player, it's going backward to Chelsea's goal, but the hand of the player changed the direction of the ball to the player that lay the final pass to Tillersman. It's an easy pick. Is aw it at real time. Why can't VAR pick that? Mkelv0106: 1 Like 2 Shares |

I don't have a problem losing but it should be in the right way. There was a handball in the build-up to Leceister's goal, unfortunately, VAR didn't see that. It is unfair. I saw the handball even in real time. The handball completely changed the direction of the ball. It hit the leg and the hand. |

I think organizations need to weigh in speed vs security. Americans love speed, that's why their systems/networks are so easy to crack. It's not because they are not intelligent enough to harden them. Americans don't want to wait for hours or days to clear a cheque. Nobody wants to wait so long for any service. Everything is Ozugbo, Ozugbo. Hackers and scammers see those flaws in their systems and they exploit them. American organizations don't really care because they already make budgets and insurances for the expected damages. All those waste they've made allocation for made their products and services more expensive than Europe and advanced Asian countries. Their systems would be more secured if they can sacrifice a little speed by running a few processes manually or semi-manually. They should also air-gap some systems. If not, the hacking parties continue. They would surely recover from many hacking without paying a dime but their networks may be down for a few hours/days. Tdotbluejays: |

Israel needs to take it easy. They are killing a lot of innocent children in their attacks. I am a Christian. Many Nigerian Christians just follow blindly because of religious affiliation. They will never see any fault in Israel. Int'l community must stop this nonsense now before it turns to full-blown war. 4 Likes |

As much as I hate what Baba Ijesha did, but the Lagos State Police Commissioner said the crime he committed is bailable. Left to me, I want him to rot in there but we have to follow the law. If the crime is truly bailable, then they have no business still keeping him in the cell. People like me that don't want him to get bailed should redirect our energy to our lawmakers. They need to fix our archaic sexual assault/rape laws. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

I'm not sure you understand the economics of technology. You kept diverting the discussion to a global context as if I am saying 5G is bad. I am not against 5G. It's groundbreaking technology. It will change the world. I am discussing my country. I'm not saying other nations should not deploy 5G. I am telling you about the situation in my own country. I am saying 5G is expensive to deploy right now, why can't we mandate our Telcos to give us good 4G coverage first. When you travel to advanced nations, even in the deepest forest, you can make calls/browse and call for help in case you enter into trouble. That should be our focus for now. We are comparing wireless to wireless, don't bring NITEL issue here. Did you say rapid changes in Nigeria? Have you been to East African and Southern African countries recently? Kenya, Tanzania, Namibia, and SA implemented many solutions that we are just starting. We are just shouting giant of Africa to boost our ago. Many African countries have left us behind. Many of you guys are shouting 5G because you've not experienced the real 4G. For people who have traveled and opportune to experience the real 4G, they know that a lot can be done with a good 4G. Do you know what it means to browse 1000Mbps? It means you can transfer 125 megabytes in a second. That means you can download a 2GB movie in 16 seconds. That's what 4G can do. Ask your Telcos to give you the real 4G first before they start discussing 5G. We have problems in Nigeria because many of our leaders carry a mindset like you. You don't build a nation for the few. You don't build a nation for Ikoyi residents alone. You consider everybody. If I will spend 1 billion Naira for the benefit of ten people and that same 1 Billion Naira can be spent another way for the benefit of ten thousand people in my country, I will choose the latter. Phones / Re: NCC, Nigcomsat Sign Mou On Release Of 5G Spectrum by saajus: 2:11am On May 10, 2021 |
Coverage is what NCC should focus on right now. They should inform all Telcos to let 4G be everywhere before attempting any 5G. We should be able to access the internet in our farms, forests, remote villages, highways, etc. If our 5G speed will be like 4G, then what is the purpose. What we call 4G here sometimes looks like 3G in some advanced countries. Sometimes, it is not about the technology, it is about the coverage. A very strong 4G signal could be better than a very weak 5G signal. davodyguy: |

You are looking at the technology thru one angle. You have to look at it broadly in relation to the Nigerian economy. Remember, we are only talking about 5G in Nigeria's context, not the global context. So, I'm not arguing if 5G is great or not. How many Crypto farms do we have presently in Nigeria? How many sectors are we using robots in Nigeria right now? How many cloud data centers like Amazon cloud do we have in Nigeria? How many people have VR games at home in Nigeria? How many hospitals have robots to do surgical operations? How many Nigerians can afford $1k 5G compatible phones? If our leaders are great thinkers, those are the questions they need to ask before allowing our Telcos to start investing Billions in 5G. The basic advantage of 5G over 4G LTE is latency and speed. 5G gives you a latency of less than 1ms, which makes it almost real-time. speed and latency are the only difference. You are talking about its applications. 4G can be used in robotics if it doesn't require low latency. You are talking just like Nigerian leaders. They want to copy and paste the West without looking at our own peculiar situation. The same way we copy and paste the system of Govt of rich nations and we are complaining there is no money to pay salaries. TimeTraveler369: |

You are right, but let's be realistic. First, we need to know what 5G is bringing. The basic advantage of 5G is speed and latency. Which sectors do you need the very fast speed and latency; Medical: To do remote surgery. We are still struggling with basic medical. Right now in Nigeria, can you trust a Doctor in the USA to operate on you remotely? By the time he starts, the generator could collapse because of overuse. Gaming: Only 0.0001% of us can afford VR games that need very fast speed and low latency Cloud: We don't have a good power supply that will make it work So, if you critically look at the situation, this is not a priority. Our priority is to improve our coverage. You want to be able to browse the internet anywhere in the country. You want to able to make calls inside the deepest forest in the country. Those are the priority. All technology is good, but it works differently for different climates. Let's exhaust 4G and massively increase our coverage. Some of us can't even browse in some rooms in our houses. Some of us climb mountains to make calls in our villages. Another advantage why poor countries need to wait is that we are poor and don't have money to throw around. Every new technology comes with challenges in the beginning. Engineers fix it along the line and keep tailoring it to perfection. Let advanced nations use their resources to do the trial first, fix mistakes and we will come in at the very maturity stage maybe in 5 years' time. We won't lose anything cos right now we don't really have businesses that require crazy wireless internet speed. TimeTraveler369: |

Phones / Re: NCC, Nigcomsat Sign Mou On Release Of 5G Spectrum by saajus: 7:40pm On May 09, 2021 |
The reason why I think our Telcos should focus on 4G is that it's cheaper to deploy. The cost of building a new 5G cell tower can build two 4G cell towers. 4G is easier to maintain, because it's being around for a while, our Telecom Engineers are already familiar with it. So, you don't need to bring in some Indians or Chinese to help. Another reason is the frequency band that NCC is giving them for 5G. They are giving them 3.4 – 3.52 GHz. In simple physics, the higher the frequency, the lower the wavelength. It means 5G cell tower won't cover so much. Presently MTN, Glo, and the likes deployed their 4G in lower frequency (600-900MHz). It means they will need about two 5G cell towers to cover the same area that their present 4G is covering. I think this 5G thing may be a distraction for real development in our internet service quality. For now, focus should be on quality. Since advanced nations are moving to 5G, our telcos can start buying the 4G equipment they will be trashing/recycling at a cheaper rate. Also remember, people will have to change their phones to 5G compatible phones. We are the poorest nation for Christ's sake. We won't browse for free. 5G may even raise the cost. I think internet costs may become cheaper when private companies invest a lot in Fiber optics cable. Wireless internet will always be more expensive than cable. But, who will invest in Fiber where there is no security. Country where some stupid guys can dig up and break your cables anyhow. When the Facebook project is completed, it may reduce internet costs for Africa. They are launching hundreds of Satellites to beam internet to Africa. They said it will almost be free for ppl living in villages in Africa. TimeTraveler369: |

If I were NCC Chairman, I won't issue any new spectrum now. I will first mandate all our Telcos to let 4G reach every nook and cranny of Nigeria before they start investing any dime in 5G. Let 4G be available in our remote villages, highways, farms, forests, Sambisa, just everywhere. 4G itself has a max capacity of 1000Mbps downlink. We are not asking for too much, if our Telcos can make just 20Mbps downlink and may be 7/8Mbps uplink available everywhere, that's what I will count as development. 20Mbps everywhere will perfectly serve the average individual needs. 6 Likes |

Romance / Re: Reno Omokri: Money Spent On A Girlfriend Attracts No Blessing by saajus: 11:43am On May 09, 2021 |
I believe any giving for a good cause generally attracts blessings. Aside, don't give because you want to be blessed, give because of love, blessing may then be a by-product. I won't give my parents money because I want a blessing, I will give them because of the love I have for them. Also, I won't give my girlfriend money because I want any blessing, I will give her money because I love her. |

Please, take him to the hospital and make sure he's using those drugs. He will recover. I don't know which hospital you went to but ARO in Abeokuta has the best hands. Please, never handle this spiritually. Prophets and Pastors will damage him more. I knew someone who experienced this, she's very ok now. In fact, she's no longer on drugs. Her family wasted time with Spiritualists for two years and they make a mild case worst. I am begging you, stay off Alfa, Pastors, Prophets, or Prophetess. You can be praying personally but, don't let any Spiritual person recommend baths, fasting, or the likes. Those things will degenerate his case. This is a simple psycho issue, handle it medically. 2 Likes |
Programming / Re: Is C++ Still A Relevant Programming Language Today? by saajus: 3:49pm On May 08, 2021 |
Yes. It's relevant. It's closer to lower-level language. So, most firmware and OS developers use C and C++ or a little modified version of those languages. In fact, some graphic/game developers do a lot of magic with C++ maybe through a program like OpenGL. The challenge is if one wants to be a C++ developer, it's better to know it very well cos it could also be a downfall of your software if you don't handle the programming memory management properly. Otherwise, hackers will be exploiting your program for fun. 7 Likes |

Two matches that have ever made me cry. Nigeria against Italy in 94 and Chelsea vs Barca daylight robbery in 2009. I was very little in 94 but I was very intelligent and understand football. We missed the greatest opportunity to win a world cup. The Bulgaria that we trashed in our first game got to Semi-Final. The Roberta Baggio Italy that struggled and lucky to knock us out got to the Final. It would be the greatest achievement of any NFA administration if they can assemble a team like USA 94 Super Eagles again. 1 Like |

They are already married legally. I would have advised her to back out but I think it's too late. If this was two or three months prior to the traditional wedding, I would advise her to back out. If she has understanding parents and got their support, she should back out now. But, I really doubt it. My piece of advice, she should carry on with the wedding if her parents don't support her. On the wedding night or the following day, she needs to talk to the husband that he needs to change his ways. She needs to let him know he's not going to get a second chance if he hit one day. After three months of the wedding, if he continues sleeping around and also hitting her, she should not hesitate to separate. 2 Likes |
