thanks for the sympathy. however, while she goes thru physical pain i still think it's nothing compared to what's going on in her mind. i try to make her feel strong but she's sure i will one day run away like her last lover did when she told him about her status. they were having unprotected sex before she fell ill.i don't think she thinks much about tomorrow.
Unfortunately for some people, HIV/AIDS is a death sentence and stigmatisation does not help in any way. Down here the stigmatisation is not so bad since a lot of people have the disease and medication is readily available and people know they can have meaningful lives if they take care of themselves and the mindset is right. Your girlfriend needs to read on this disease and understand as much as she can and hopefully once she has gained some knowledge, she will know how best to deal with her situation and manage it but is starts with the mind.

Good luck to you guys, it takes a strong partner to stick around and be supportive, she is lucky to have you!
RomanceRe: The More Independent A Woman Becomes, The More Difficult It Is To Find A Husband by SAGoddess: 12:22pm On Jan 20, 2011
@ OP, it's rough for women out there. . . . . .personally I can't imagine having to downplay my achievements just so I can attract a husband or make him feel secure about himself. A man that is worthy is one that will not be intimidated by his woman's achievements, if he wants to be with her, it will happen regardless. . . . .women should stop nursing shattered men's egos otherwise they have to be happy to always play second fiddle. . . . . .

we live in lagos. from time to time she complains about headaches. she also has a problem with her nose. the illness that made her go for the test damaged the nerves around the side of her face so she had a problem breathing properly. she did corrective surgery but while she can now breathe properly she now has a constant battle with runny nose.
I am sorry for what you guys are going through, does she at least know when she got it and who gave it to her or how she got it (it's not always transmitted sexually)

I asked where you live because people on here most times talk as though no one in Nigeria has the disease, it's as if it is a Southern African phenomenon/pandemic yet it's global, all are at risk, even married people!

If he is not attacking Naija ladies, then it is the black woman in general, then foreign women on the site and now it is Drill's turn. . . . . clearly he puts on his military gear every morning before logging on!

CityRose you seem to know too much, for a person on her 7th post undecided ,just sayin
Would the number of posts show how often a person logs on to read without replying on threads?
RomanceRe: She Has Hiv by SAGoddess: 11:46am On Jan 20, 2011
At least she has protected you and did not deliberately try to infect you, some people do that.

CD4 count of 300 is a bit on the low side, is she sickly or still healthy? I ask because some people are bedridded around that CD4 count or at least on medication.

May I ask where you guys are based? I will tell you why in a bit!!!

**PS** I am not a doctor. . . . .

^^^ Turn this into what, we talking of a no good Zimbabwe on a Nigeria web link and this is what you have to say, I HAVE NO REGRET FOR MESSING zimbabwe LADIES UP SEXUALLY IN MANCHESTER, NO REGRET.
What has Drill got to do with Zim (Zimbabwean) girls in Manchester?

Your thoughts seem to be all over the place or maybe it's just me. . . . . . .
RomanceRe: She Has Hiv by SAGoddess: 11:26am On Jan 20, 2011
When did she get it, how did she get it, what is her CD4 count?  If you have been sleeping together without protection and you are negative, maybe you are resistant/immune to the virus (lucky you).

What are you going to do?  (Assuming the story is true since you only dropped a one liner about this very serious matter)

I am happy chilling on my own, don't really like going out of my comfort zone (my home), I don't particularly like shopping (go to the mall to get what I want and then walk out, possibly to go home and hang out. . . . . cheesy cheesy
My being open-minded and not being confined by societal "norms" is rather strange to some. . . . I make my own rules as long as I am not infringing on the next person's rights. . . .

Does it mean you will not ALLOW your wife to drink alc (drinking and getting drunk are two different things, remember that)
RomanceRe: Child Out Of Wedlock by SAGoddess: 9:22am On Dec 21, 2010
Single parenthood is not the end of the world as many would like to believe, every child needs love and guidance, just because the parents are not married does not mean the child is an automatic failure. . . . . as long as both parents play their role in the child's life, that child will be just as balanced as one raised by married parents.

One or two people I know residing in SA have got wives and children back in Nigeria but they live here, surely the absent father is not taking an active role in the child's life and the mother is left to do it all, how is that different from single parenthood!!!

Marriage does not equate ever-lasting happiness and well-mannered children with distinctions at school!
