jason123: Omo, Igbo women sabi book. The guys too dey try but generally (according to my little experience) they are not has "hot" as SS, Yorubas or Northerners. Northerners are not into books but an abstract stat of 1 in every 100000 is a genius! When you meet a smart Northerner, you'll know say them too smart. On the bolded, I guess we send our girls to school and have our boys take turns in digging holes lol! I'm of the impression that for some personal reasons you think low of Igbo males. Let me put it this way - I'm from Imo state and to the best of my knowledge it'll be almost impossible to find an Imolite between the age of 12 and 30-40 who cant write simple english. Mind you, I said "write," I didnt say "degree." I dont know how many of our boys have degrees but if I recall vividly, our boys always did better than girls in secondary school and about 60-70% went to uni afterwards ( I went to a village secondary school for your info). Of the number that went to uni, a huge chunk majored in sciences and engineering. However, I would say that its pointless comparing who is out-educating who in Nigeria because with all our degrees and diplomas what do we have to show for it? Boko Haram, 419, porvety, etc. Big shame. |
ndu_chuks, I cant believe you wrote that GEJ should step aside because of Boko Haram. If GEJ does that it means any president of southern extraction in future is doomed to the same fate because as soon as he gets elected and another orgy of violence erupts he'll be asked to step down. GEJ will finish his tenure and if he seeks for a second term (this is his first) then the Nigerian people will decide if they want him or not. No amount of blackmail will or intimidation will run GEJ out of office. One more thing, you cant kill what you didnt create. GEJ didnt create Boko Haram so he cant kill it, he can only frustrate their activities. Let me put it this way before anyone starts accusing me of taking sides with GEJ - I do not bank on any politician, many of them are dishonest including GEJ, Buhari, IBB, OBJ, Zik, Awo, Bello, Obama, etc. There's one thing a career politician is good at and that is - always pick something, make it the truth and push it down the throat of the masses. Sometimes they pick the right truth sometimes not, so based on that I believe folks now know where I stand on politicians. Back to the issue. GEJ didnt create this deadly sect, in fact many parts of this country have one reason or the other to be violent and resentful to other parts but they chose wisely. Boko Haram made a choice and nobody should take responsibility except the sect's members. Lets not play dumb, we all know the history of Nigeria like we know our palms. Since the arrival of Brits up to the unconscionable amalgamation and unnecessary one-Nigeria independence, this seed of resentment towards modernity and western style education has always been germinating in the far north. Accuse me of bigotry if you want but deep down you know its true. What is happening today is the effect/result of the decision made by Boko Haram members, their fathers, and their fore-fathers. After a period in incubation an egg most likely will hatch, Boko haram is out of the shell - its hatched so lets put the blame where it rightly belongs. I'm of the opinion that if we're still interested in being one Nigeria then lets put more energy into annihilating the nucleus of the problem rather than thinking there's a messiah that is to come and make things right for a hitch-free One Nigeria. GEJ is not God-send and nobody is going to be God-send either so replacing GEJ with your brother or mine because of Boko Haram is as good as useless. Its time for fathers, leaders, and opinion makers in core north to step up. Fathers in the core north - dont have more babies than you can feed, and when you do have one please send him to school. Just as we're reaping the fruit of many years of core north's backwardness today who said we may not reap the reward of their "forwardness" in 10 to 20 years if they choose wisely today? Brothers, lets call a spade by its name and tell our North west and North East brothers the truth which is - FG will neither save nor change you, that job belongs to you as an individual. Today, the FG is building Almajiri schools for people in the north but there are questions we've all shied away from and they're - who are the people making and sending these God's children to Almajiridom? dont they also have a responsibilty to stop? As long as we're only interested on the effect rather than the cause then dont worry about Boko Haram 'cuase they'll certainly have a large pool to choose from, with or without GEJ. |
At my university, all majors need at least two physics class before graduation; the same applies for other schools around the states. I don't understand why though, for my major, we need four to graduate and it has to be B or above for it to be classified as "pass" for the major.
I see, good luck my brother. I know you'll slug it out with them - they say no pain no gain. By the way, did you check the solution to that problem? I posted a pic of the solution. |
I did not even say anything dude because anyone can see he's lying but thank you for pointing it out. In my field of studies, physics isn't needed as much except for mcat yet I've taken 3 physics courses already. I won't say I'm an expert in it but basic things should be easy. Seven of my friends are psychology, anthropological, Business, Education, Legal, History and Human services majors yet they've taken physics too. Not to mention my ex-girlfriend whose major is nursing and just like my seven friend, she took physics. Now imagine someone that is an engineering and or computer science major. Engineering I know for a fact is predominately physics.
Good luck on the bolded. I now remember you, lol. You're the one that accused me of bringing my homework here for guys to help me..., man I was laughing like crazy when I read that. By the way why would they make psychology, Biz, edu, and legal students do physics? Some schools are just crazy, they'll make you take things that dont make sense. Well, I dont know, maybe they took physics that are not calculus-based. Calculus based physics should be left for engineering students, who wants to go through all that trouble simply because they want Business, education, or nursing degree? |
shymmex: Why do you always use "whom"? Whom is an outdated word, though correct - but it has no place in the 21st century English language. The writer speaks and writes Igbo, to me thats the most important thing. Most Chinese and Japanese dont speak English yet they're probing the galaxies. |
You have accidentally written a sensible post here. The bolded is a key point not understood by many NL bigots - you seem to get it. You then went ahead to spoil everything by the ignorance you displayed in the post below: To cure your of ignorance fueled by self hatred, here is an operational bomber belonging to the great NAF. Nigerian airforce aircraft F7-Ni https://pilotsandplanesmilitary.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/800px-Nigerian_F71.jpg
Nwanne, that jet is old and unfit for mordern warfare. A good 200 level electrical engineering student can detect that craft with an old dismantled micro waveoven within a 3 mile radius and then kill the dummy with an old inexpensive 1980 soviet heat-seeking missile - All these for a price of about 300 dollars. Remember I said a good 200 level electrical student, I didnt say a pro. And incase you're not too familiar, there are about 400-500 F7 in operation around the world, so Nigeria cant possibly have more than 50. Now multiply 50 by 300$ and tell me if the war is not over. I would say the only thing going for Nigeria is ground troops not that dummy in the pix that 'll shatter into infinitesimal fragments before it breaks sound barrier. I've told you before that the only force capable of keeping us together and united = peace, justice, and equality. |
nwanne, you are right. I overreacted because someone mentioned being a symbol of a region - that hat is too big for me. I will edit my post and change the phrase to, "I don't care about,.,.,.". Please modify the quoted post which contained the bad phrase in your post. Thanks. BTW, I was not calling Clark names, I am too African to do that.
Dont sweat it bro, its well. Anyway, let me just say that in this day and age it'll be very difficult to get Igbos to throw their Eastern brothers under the bus. For many years we've been accused of dominating and bullying our neighbours and it worked for our accusers. The Igbo you see today is not the Igbo you saw 40-50 years ago, we're more likely to side-step baits whether real or imaginary today than we would've done yesterday. What you wrote about Edwin Clark was true, we know who he is - he used to Igbo hater, but we will not gang up on Ijaws because of one man. Ijaws are our neighbours and we love them so Edwin Clark or no Edwin Clark we'll still love eachother. One more thing I want to add is that I think you dont know how much the core north has bullied the south over the years simply because they carefully maneuvered to grab and retain power. Mentioning strike or telling us where the fighter jets are and who pilots them is very insensitive to people of the south. I dont know the point you were trying to make but whatever it was, believe me, it was tasteless. The only power capable of keeping this nation of over 250 tongues together is peace, justice, and equality. No amount of force will be able to keep us together if we dont get real and practical with those three concepts. We're too culturally different to use force to settle anything, in fact the mere mention of the word "force" strikes a raw nerve on others. My hope and prayer is that we find the solution to this nation's woes quick without wasting more lives for nothing. Most of us are tired, really tired of same old same old. |

DMainMan: Most of you all are tribalist and religious extremists. because one of ur kindred and ur religious sect luckily became president because d death of his superior, u are now clamouring for his support.Come together as united forces and advocate a good leader without any ethnic and religious extremism How can we join you when you opened your mouth and called me your slave? I'll advise you to get off your high horse. |
NorthSharp: No, he is NOT a Hausa-Fulani; he is anGuys please cut NorthSharp some slack, he deserves it. I think NorthSharp should be the symbol of core north not ndu_chuks thats throwing elbows most of the time. On whether ndu_chuks is Hausa-Fulani or not, I would say where a man's allegiance lies is where he belongs. Hitler was an Austrian but his allegiance was on the German side so he, by that implication, was German. In fact there is a story out there that Hitler was part Jewish, so do the math my brother. Anyway, let me cut to the chase by saying that we're all brothers in some kind of way so dont let whats happening here get under your skin. Besides, there is nothing to be ashamed of if people say ndu_chuks is Hausa-Fulani. Even though I disagree with him most of the time I believe hes a smart and polished dude and, believe me, thats the kind of image core north needs - politics aside. |
Only Every one of your followers, including the normally talkative ones like [b]Sam_Ikenna (he is probably a pastor), have avoided the point I've made concerning Edwin Clark. Because the way you are being used by Clark and GEJ is frankly, shameful, I understand your wish to avoid the topic. Dede1 would have confronted the issue head on, albeit, after calling the country a cesspit. That Igbo boy would never shy away from constructively criticizing Clark or any one else unlike the peon, Onlytruth. The political naivity of the SE leaders never ceases to amaze me. Onlytruth, mgbo piafuka gi isi. Onye ara.
You failed to create problem between Ijaw and Igbo, now you want to create katakata between Igbo and Igbo - Try again, this one also failed. |
^^^^ A sensible post devoid of tribalism. The bolded above is the bane of current day Ndigbo. Unfortunately, the electorate prefers to avoid discussions such as the one started in this thread, which could expose these politicians, to avoid being critical of their tribesmen. I can understand why posters like PointB would prefer to change the subject and Sam_Ikenna, who is usually an epistle writer, would reduce his post to a one-liner - their condition is pitiable and frankly shameful. I venture to guess that the SE governors will rig 99% of the votes for PDP once again. @Naijaking, I see you are still a Maradonna wannabe. Nwanne m continue dribbling yourself, I said Clark cause escalation of BH violence, not that SS created Boko Haram. You have out done yourself here.
ndu_chuks pls dont kill me with your jokes. Which one be epistle writer. Anyway, I'm not in the mood or, better put, in shape to be on NL today. I know you, you're a staunch die-hard core north voice and I'ld be a fool to fall for your bait. Why did you single out Igbo? Is SE the only region that voted for GEJ? Its clear SE is the reason you guys have not fried GEJ like Akara jojo. We dont need you to tell us who Edwin Clark is, we know him inside-out, however, Edwin Clark is not Ijaw nation neither is he GEJ, he is just one man representing himself and for that we will not throw our Ijaw brothers under the bus. Isnt it funny how you guys held on to your neighbours up north very tight yet you want to create katakata for us and our brothers? We're wiser now. GEJ will finish his first term in one piece and if he says hes going for a second term we, the Eastern people, will fact-check his promises and actions. Dont worry about us, we're fine - we've been fine since 1966, 1967-1970, and 1970-2012. We're not scared of what will happen after GEJ because we've seen it all. By the way, if you were in Edwin Clark's shoes what would you do if you're in position to put your brother as VP? He did what you guys taught him - passi passi - from brother to brother, so dont think I'm going to throw the whole Ijaw nation under the bus because Edwin Clark passed to his brother. Also, do you mind deleting that your strike/war map? we dont need it. If people of Nigeria decide they're tired of one Nigeria no amount of strike or unstrike will stop it. No nation survives without justice and equality and that also entails not living off the resources of the weak and minorities. We will remain one for as long as we're ready to do justice to all, but if we think this present system in which we've been taking from Ondo, Abia, Bayelsa, Edo, CR, Rivers, Delta, Imo, and AK without allowing them to also dictate how they want their resources either taken or shared is sustainable, then dont worry about that your strike plan. In fact its a good thing you reminded us where the jet fighters are and who pilots them, I guess what you're telling us is that we're in trouble if we make any move. Its clear how we're seen by our core northern brothers. First, they told us they're going with Abuja and everything up north including Kwara and Kogi, now you're telling us the fighters are located in your domain, in fact you even went further to tell us how many strikes will demobilize us - 9 strikes, wow! I guess you guys consider us cockroaches. Even if you were fighting only one person dont you think there is a non zero propability that none of the 9 strikes will hit him? Common man! give us some respect. 9 Strikes cant take more than 20 seconds so basically you're saying the core north will subdue us in less than 20 seconds. Nwanne, I hail you. Anyway, I dont have time for NL this morning, I'll close by saying - we're not as dumb as you think, we will not fall for that story you put up there. |
Chei! ndu_chuks nwanne, who did this to you? lol. |
bakila: It is not a throne, it is not his second term, there are people better than him and IT IS CRAZY to say that you do not expect a president who promised fresh air to be honourable.I dont know what your beef is but it looks like you would've been happy if I said GEJ should wrought in hell. Yes I'm from East and legally entitled to be anywhere in the country just as you're entitled to be anywhere including the East. Whether GEJ goes for a second term or not is his problem, what I detest is people making it seem as GEJ seeking a second term is the end of the world. If you want us to stop GEJ then lets do that under the terms that we'll replace him with a better qualified person from anywhere inlcuding the core north. I wont support pushing someone out because you want to replace him with your own brother - thats not honesty. |
Beaf: I have been banned in a record number for a single day while trying to post part two. I've given up.Beaf, post the second part on villagesquare and give us the link. |
1025: if libyans could wait for 42yrs under one animal(gadaffi), if the egyptians could wait for 32 yrs under the other idiots, look at tunisia, algeria atc. nigeria and nigerians will wake up one day and say enough is enough. whether we like it or not, the greater the temptations, the greater the testimonies. let us not forget that we now know who our enemies are. on the day of judgement, it won't be a big deal for us to pick and kill these bastards without wasting time.It would be great if it happens but I dont see it happening. It would be easier for Nigeria to break than to have a revolution. |
Mowire: Beyond the sentiments if GEJ indeed decides to contest in 2015 in 2015 he will be the most dishonest & morally bankrupt president we've had in Nigeria.Their is no honesty in Nigerian politics, never have and, probably, never will. My instinct tells me GEJ is going for second tenure and he'll do it because his people will push him in that direction. Now the questions are - (1)is it ok for a leader to lie to his country men? (2)Is he constitutionally qualified to contest for a second shot? (3)What is the agenda of those political jobers that are pushing GEJ to quit after his first term? (4)Is the political hawks/jobers agenda good for our interests or is it because they feel its their turn? For (1) I say No. For (2) I say Yes. For (3) and (4) I say Unknown. If I want someone to quit, at least common sense dictates that I tell him to quit because someone capable is ready to take charge not because I want my brother to take over. The thought of my brother taking over is enough to make the occupant/incumbent perpetuate himself on that throne. |
If one man's ambition is capable of breaking a country then that country shouldn't be one in the first place. lets say Nigeria is about 160 million, which means 160 million different kinds, shapes, colors, and sizes of ambition. If GEJ's ambition can break up 160 million different kinds, then maybe we shouldn't have crammed 160 million heads together. |
Brilliant thought! Others are exchanging mails privately, putting all options on table and all that. There is a cold war out there, until when you step out.
Relax man, dont get worked up on all these NL gra gra. All is well. |
We all can see how 1967-70 shaped our horrible perception of one another. I think its unarguable to say that we've not recovered fully from the pains and hate of that bitter war. It'll be foolish for this younger generation to start another cycle of violence and hate which will live in our memories and that of our children for hundreds of yrs to come. Common sense tells me West and East are too close and also genetically related for them to dable into an all out war over a simple thing as right to stay if and when Nigeria expires. We all must resist the temptation to bring our peoples in a head-on collision. Time to sleep. |
Onlytruth: Nnanne m Ikenna, I sent you an email.Ok, great. |
Onlytruth, after they burn Lagos, how would they get out to head East? . . . or do they plan on dying in their inferno? I want to see how Ibo will burn Lagos and then travel through Ogun and Ondo states safely on his escape route back home.
Bro, the truth is that we're all trapped in some kind of way here. East is playing host to SW citizens in Enugu and PH just like SW is host to Easterners in Lagos. You see, this is a game none of us will win if we let chaos determine our outcome. I dont expect the West to sit by and watch Easterners roast Westerners just as I dont expect East to be that silly and irresponsible if West is killing Easterners. Smart heads will prevail eventually, you can bet on it. |
Onlytruth: That is why I saying all I'm saying here.I get you bro. I dont think Nigeria 'll break today, it'll at least take about 3 yrs or so thats if it'll break. Between now and that 3 yrs is a chance to brace up and get out acts together - I know we can do it and we'll do it. We did so much in 1967-1970 even as we were under heavy fire, today we're much wiser and smarter and I think we can pull it off again. 3 yrs may not be too much but at least its something. |
Onlytruth: Touche, my brother.Who wouldn't retaliate? Anyway, my concern now is that I hope our leaders are getting the message that this ship might sink earlier than expected. Woe betide you if you're caught napping in these times. Its like all the 1967-70 war to keep Nigeria one is now a fluke and the North has finally accepted that this nation is on the edge and might not make it - the question now is - are we napping? I hope not. |
I dont know what will happen in the Core North in the event of a break up, as for East and West I know we wont resort to killing and maiming. |
Onlytruth: My brother the problem is that we have our brothers who are Lagosians. Born and raised there. There are also our brothers who want to stay there. We cannot throw them under the bus if anyone attempts any b/sheet with them.Look, the leadership of the West knows the East has a large chunk of their citizens in Enugu and PH. It'll be suicidal for them to try any BS - reasons being that (1) East has a substantial population that can put up stiff opposition eventhough they'll lose in the end because the turf belongs to Yoruba - meaning they'll be indirectly burning their beloved city down. (2) Cleasing a people portrays the cleanser-nation in a horrible light - who will come in and invest in that country again? (3) East can also extract their own pound of flesh by doing the same to SW citizens in Enugu and PH. You see, its a no win-win situation if we all go down the path of hate and violence. All these people here advocating for ethnic cleansing dont even know who'll be brought home to them in a box, it could be their brother or sister. |
Onlytruth: A lot will move their investments to the East, but how do you move 10 houses of different types built under the One Nigeria belief to the East?I get your point bro. |
Onlytruth: That is the the CORE of the point I'm making.Nwannem, lets keep our fingers crossed. A new kind of drum is playing in Nigeria and we must be watchful and ready to dance. We'll not be cleansed from lagos, we'll sell our properties and go peacefully to our ancestral land. Lagos is strategic for SW and I believe they'll want to keep it that way so all this talk of killing X and Y is BS. For me, Igboland is sacred and thats where I want to be. |
Onlytruth: At first bolded, my brother that is not the vibe I've been getting from our people in Lagos, and I mean even from early 1990s (after the Abiola riots). My closest friend who is from Imo state (who had lived in the Ikeja area of Lagos for MANY YEARS) told me point blank that they were making plans to quote "burn down Lagos" should the Yoruba try any nonsense there. This was in 1993 o!That'll be crazy. How can he achieve that? Whoever chooses to rid Lagos of non-Yorubas through ethnic cleansing in this day and age must be a giant fool. In the end I think smart heads will prevail in both East and West nations. No nation is cleansing my people, thats not going to happen. People should relax, no one is killing anyone in the southern part of Nigeria. |
strangerf: Not true, Lagos belongs to everyone!Ok, thanks but no thanks, I'll rather keep my belief to myself. Its safer for me that way. |
Onlytruth: Sure of course! Wasn't trying to convince you or something.Brother lets exclude Lagos from this convo 'cause you know its going. Lagos is for SW, let them do whatever they want to do with it - build it, chew it, love it, just whatever. The only thing is that non of the new nations will accept the killing of their citizens on a massive scale because Nigeria is breaking, if that is done then you know its obviously leading to war and ethnic cleansing. There are nearly as many Westerners in the East and PH as there are Easterners in Lagos. I think the leadership of both East and West will sort things out after all we're always going to be neighbours. |
