martineverest: I fear uefa and fifa's conspiracy might deny this guy Ballon dor His chances just grew slimmer. PSG would do well in France with him as always but would struggle at the European level. At this point, it would be much more easier for the likes of Isco than Neymar. Of what use is the Ballon d'Or dream without major silverware? |

Barce is pained and it's understandable. Messi was supposed to play a deeper role in the team in the new season, leaving Neymar and Suarez at the fore.
Neymar's father is a very greedy man. For the first time ever, I am glad he never came to Madrid and leaving just when the team is about entrusting everything into his care as Messi ages is a whole new trouble for the Catalan club.
Just like Robinho who left for Manchester City from Real, this move is likely the sudden dip of a supposed legend. PSG is too star studded with great individual style of play.
Without prejudice, I don't see Neymar succeeding in the French capital. He is only going there to earn a pension in his prime. |

kjhova: Thanks for the expose on Serena's multi-lingual abilities. Apparently, as stated in your attached article, most people are not aware of this, include moi.
That said, we are still where I left us which is that; it is not unusual for a famous personality to run a social media page in a language which he/she isn't proficient in as this is easily handled by an employed team. Also, "most" US celebs don't speak Spanish even though that language is fast growing in America mainly as a result of immigration. You could say many, but most is an absolute term for an overriding majority for which you will need factual backing to such claim. Honest opinion, I think we should know when to back down from an argument. First off, almost all celebrities handle their Instagram and Twitter accounts while they leave their Facebook to handlers to manage on their behalf. And yes, I agree with you, running several accounts in different languages make no sense, but know that it is easier for anyone to post on social media platforms and have their posts translated almost immediately. Concerning 'most celebs don't speak spanish', I think it is quite fascinating to see that you're trying very hard to tilt the argument in your favour when you clearly cannot put up stats and figures. You did the same about Serena and your were certain beyond every reasonable doubt that she DOES NOT speak Spanish until I brought proofs forward. In 2013, there were publications about Hollywood celebrities who were fluent in Spanish. A staggering sixty was mentioned by latina.com in a post titled '60 Hollywood stars who speak Spanish fluently!' http://www.latina.com/entertainment/celebrities-hollywood-stars-fluent-spanishthought.co went on to provide another list of over 20 celebrities with the caption: 'Celebrities Who Speak Spanish as a Second Language' https://www.thoughtco.com/countries-spanish-second-language-3079181Just so you know, Ben Affleck, Will Smith, George W. Bush and others were listed in the link above. How about we look at Huffpost's publication as well? http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/4577143Before you think of coming back with a rebuttal, you should understand that there are more Latino and Hispanic celebrities in the US than other groups, which makes Spanish widely acceptable and appealing to a larger percentage of American celebrities, native speakers or others. |

adetayo234: I doubt if kanu has any story to tell. But he doesn't have to bother about telling stories; hs disciples will always follow him, even if he is leading them to perdition. Everyone has a story, good or bad. Kanu wouldn't share his because it is a shallow one; how he became a drug mule like so many before him and how he was kicked out of a football academy for stealing shin guards in the locker room, how he embezzled funds contributed by people to keep the darned radio working amongst many others. |

somehow: Yet you said its easy lol.. at average, it takes 3 months to learn the basic of an average language, 1 year for difficult languages, so when you said it was very easy, i was expecting below 3 months.
Spanish language is not one of the easiest languages to learn in the world, you can check it up online, its not easy. i have someone who learnt for years and no teaches Spanish (A Nigerian) Well, for me, I would be at work for most of the day and would only go back to my Spanish lessons mostly on weekends. Like I mentioned earlier, I worked at my own pace and wasn't bent on rushing it. If you dedicate about two to three hours, four days or three days in a week, believe me, you would get a whole lot in three months. I never had that luxury. |

Afam4eva: Spanish has always been my favourite foreign language but not even due to native spain but South and Central America. I like their spanish better.
I has to settle at learning French first because i visited a french speaking country even though i found French very difficult. I'm thinking of abandoning french and opting for Spanish. I hate to say this but Spanish is a very sexy language. Central American Spanish is Castilian and the most spoken in the world. God knows I can't learn French if my life is on the line. I really don't understand why I hate it that much. Interestingly, I covered so many grounds in my first three months of learning Spanish, something I couldn't do with French. Its syntactic rules and orthographic rules are so clear that you would feel like you've understood Spanish all your life the moment you know them offhand. |

Or how did u learn it?online?though I speak German a little ....am looking to learn many foreign languages as possible...German,Latin, Spanish, Italia ,Dutch ,french Yeah, I'm in Nigeria, for sure. I picked everything I needed to learn from online and also from YouTube. Spanish and Italia are closely related. Words like 'night', 'good', 'thank you', 'welcome' among a host of others are just about one and the same with both languages. I tried French for days and it kept bouncing back. I guess not all languages are meant for everyone. Lol. |

Afam4eva: That your name is Sanchez does not mean you understand Spanish Funny enough, I do. There was a reason I arrived at that name for reasons; 1. Staunch Madridista (since 2001) 2. Weird love for Spain 3. And of course, Sanchez is originally Latin 'Sanctus' or 'Sanctius', meaning 'Sanctified' or 'Holy'. Spanish has far more depth than French, to me. |

gbagyiza: Government job is not secured for now due to the current economy situation, government from all levels are short of funds to pay their staff because of fall in d price of crude oil...And in some few years to come over dependent on fuel will be drastically reduced because of the adaptation of electric cars n other technology that Dont depend on fuel, by then Nigerian government will have no choice than to relief it workforce. I totally disagree. The current economic downturn does not affect government organisations like it affects the corporate world. What could get you out is primarily misconduct, ranging from misappropriation, insubordination and lackadaisical attitude towards work, such as showing up late at work, disappearing during work hours among many others. You'd discover that one would offer his liver, kidney and gall bladders in a corporate setting and still would be shown the exit door for either not meeting his target for some months or perhaps, downsizing. Nothing guarantees one's safety more than working in government-owned organisations. |

Spanish is just about the simplest language I've ever come across in the world. I tried German for two weeks and had to drop it. somehow: Why slightly since its one of the easiest? You should have learnt it within 2 months then. Two months? Funny. I spent over two years learning Spanish. I worked at my own pace because I was self taught. The problem as always would be engaging your new acquired language as often as possible. It dies gradually the moment you don't find people to speak with and this applies to every language in the world, whether L1 or L2 (mother tongue and acquired). |

kjhova: This ain't exactly the point of our discussion and no, "most" US celebs don't speak Spanish (so long as "most" still remain defined as "an overiding majority of a selection" .
You and I can run an effective Arabic language page if we were famous and the need arises to sustain the Arabic market. Many wealthy celebs have a small social media team ran by their PR and this is well within the means of Lionel Messi You're so wrong, @the emboldened. The English language takes a whooping 80% of the spoken language in the United States, followed by Spanish which takes 12.4%. Indo-European takes only 3.7%, making Spanish the second most spoken language in the United States. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Languages_of_the_United_StatesFor the record, forty-five million Hispanophones speak Spanish as a first or second language in the United States, and there are over six million Spanish language students in the United States, making the United States the third-largest Hispanophone country in the world after Mexico and Colombia. omenka: If I talk now..
Let me allow this one slide before they flood my mentions with tears.
Edit:
In fact, let me bare a little bit of my mind.
These people who call themselves ipob yoots are the most brainwashed zombies I've ever seen my entire life! To these people, Kanu is TOTALLY INFALLIBLE, just like God!
These are people that would call others names like slaves and zombies and no one shows traits of these than they themselves.
When these people shift a goalpost, they don't shift it to another side of the pitch, they take it to an entirely different stadium!
Weren't these the same fools that kept pounding their chests, bragging how fearless Kanu is and how he would visit kaduna because he is a brave Ibo man and ibos aren't known to be cowards?
Why is the retraction coming on the heels of reactions from people of kaduna over his intended visit?
Now he's seen the likely outcome of his ill thought out plan and has taken a step back and these amazing fools who sang endlessly about his bravery are now those "thanking him" for "listening to their advice" to shelve his planned visit!!
This wouldn't be the first time we've seen this wierd display of mental slavery from them.
Flash back his alleged rejection of bail citing his consideration for the plight of other comrades of his lucked up in Kuje. When the news broke, these people praised him saying "we would have been surprised had Kanu accepted such zoo bail which would see the other still held in detention". They bragged "Kanu is not an Afonja renown for their knack for betraying their partners!" Couple of days later, boom, the same Kanu had fulfilled his bail conditions and bailed out on his comrades!! Did those who claim he would never accept the bail because he is not a betrayer show any sense of disappointment? Hell no! They took to the streets and celebrated Kanu's "Afonja credentials!"
They threw all what they said initially out the window!
About a week ago, story broke of how some "brave ipob yoots chased Obiano out of his church". These people thumped their chests bragging "this is just the beginning, Obiano and his zoo collaborators haven't seen nothing yet". Couple of days later, ipob leadership issued a statement denouncing the act saying "miscreants have infiltrated our ranks", sensing how stupid the act was. Now guess what the response of those who bragged about the act was to the press release - a complete volte face!
Now, these are but just a few classic cases of the behavioral pattern of a typical ipob yoot.
Zombies per excellence!
This isnt the first time they'd make such twisted turn over an issue and it wouldn't be the last.
EOD.
Now, y'all angry little things can crawl into my mentions and wail about Fulanis and Agatu. It is much expected.
Cc: Jetleeee, MadCow1, Sarrki, EvilMetahuman, Shukwuokukobambi, Sanchez01, Gamegod, Laudate, MasterChen, et al. You totally took this from me. The greatest stadium shifters around today are the ever infallible IPOB yoots. Funniest part is, they are quick to mention words like the 'UN', 'trap', and a couple of inapplicable jargons to sooth their battered egos. Back when the lunatic sneaked into the country, they claimed he would never step into the zoo, but alas, he was captured in a the company of a lady and when they lost all ideas, they claimed it was a trap to cripple the state. I'm just waiting for them to see how they would pass the Niger bridge through Delta, Benin, Ondo, Ogun and finally Lagos with their noise. They are just about the perfect definition of loonies. |
