MyNewJackeT:The Torah is the center reference of Judaism and last I checked, I don't practice Judaism. So why on God's earth would I read it? |
MyNewJackeT:Meaning & History English form of Ιησους (Iesous), which was the Greek form of the Aramaic name יֵשׁוּעַ (Yeshu'a). Yeshu'a is itself a contracted form of Yehoshu'a (see JOSHUA). Yeshua ben Yoseph, better known as Jesus Christ, was the central figure of the New Testament and the source of the Christian religion. The four gospels state that he was the son of God and the Virgin Mary who fulfilled the Old Testament prophecies of the Messiah. He preached for three years before being crucified in Jerusalem. OTHER LANGUAGES/CULTURES: Yeshua (Ancient Aramaic), Essa, Isa, Issa, Yushua (Arabic), Josu (Basque), Iesous (Biblical Greek), Yehoshua, Yeshua (Biblical Hebrew), Iesus, Iosue (Biblical Latin), Jozua (Dutch), Joshua (English), Josué (French), Xesús (Galician), Iokua (Hawaiian), Yehoshua (Hebrew), Józsua (Hungarian), Giosuè (Italian), Josué (Portuguese), Jesús, Josué, Chucho, Chus, Chuy (Spanish), İsa (Turkish) https://www.behindthename.com/name/jesus Other questions you'd love to ask? |
Alcatraz001:@the emboldened, truth is, nothing can be done. Igbos are naturally traders and of course, you know traders would only be tilted to areas where there are more demands, rather than on supply alone. I said sometimes ago and I'd say it again; Igbos might not be able to survive on their own due to their nature. I'm stationed in the East and this subtle, but noticeable feature of having every Tom, Dick and Harry trade is plaguing almost every trader here and the market is gradually thining out in the East, hence, the willingness to move out of the region, and, or, to become a drug mule is easily obtainable here because the struggle is far from what is being preached on here daily. I have travelled all five states of the East and still do almost every month and the same thing plagues each state. You wouldn't blame those who hop on the next available bus to Lagos, Oyo, Ogun or Kano, honestly. Survival is imperative and body and soul must be kept alive. Asking all Igbos scattered in all parts of the country to return home would mean that you'd be asking traders to sell to themselves, which would spell hunger. For the bums who scream 'IPOB' daily you honestly need to see them clog every available newspaper stand and a part of the road every day and night. And yes, I agree with you; it would happen but I pray it won't now. Kanu, at over 40, cannot brag of a roof over his head with his hard earned money. You shouldn't expect his followers to be any better, honestly. |
Alcatraz001:You know, I was going to disagree with your post until I saw your second paragraph, particularly the emboldened. Sadly, a suckling babe born just yesterday has this more than ten times, which is clearly the area I have tons of problems with. I only pray we won't make it to the Rwanda point. This whole thing could have clearly been avoided if the 'respect for host' factor had long been observed. |
MasterChen:How you beat me to this, I have no clue. It is funny how they all claimed Chinwetalu is a son of the soil and how the Northerners are not sons of their own soil when they respond. If what Kanu has is violence and madness, I sure believe there is a brand of madness in Nigeria which outclasses his. My deepest fears is to Igbos in the North. They don't deserve this under £1000 wahala. |
limeta:Are you guys all the same; like do you reason like people who would not readily engage their thoughts but their hearts? The thread reads 'Before Bola Ahmed Tinubu Became Governor, What Was His Occupation?', which directly implies 'what jobs or job did he do prior to his gubernatorial role?'. Answers came forth and you all shifted the entire pitch, asking how he was able to own half of Lagos when some people had already claimed 90%. Tinubu is corrupt like other politicians and yes, he most likely fleeced Lagos to enrich himself but this was never the question asked. An average 2*2 shop owner would need to arm himself with nothing less than N300K+ to get a shop in a strategic location in Lagos, yet, a company was formed with less the aforementioned while a paltry £122 pounds is all that stands other than liabilities. For the umpteenth time, what was Kanu's job before he declared himself the supreme leader of Fanyogo? |
hilroy:Yeah, I am aware the dude had no source of livelihood in the UK but the recent company revelation has made me come to terms with the fact that the dude was prolly into money laundering. The radio thing, well, Uwazuruike claimed he left it in Kanu's care to manage, only for the latter to turn around and claim ownership of some other person's brainchild. Sad. |
brize:He was a secretary for crying out loud and his take home would be nothing but crumbs. |
brize:I thought you guys said Igbos own 90% of Lagos properties, how come Tinubu now owns 'more than half' of Lagos ![]() |
Why am I seeing the Sarakis all over the cheque? ![]() |
Funny but creative. Did anyone notice what she did with Arsenal? ![]() |
omenka:I weak finish ![]() Dude was a bum in the UK. I just pray his academic records would be dug out soonest. |
ivolt:He was part of the PDP group in diaspora. So it's possible they were responsible for certain things. In 2012, he was a vocal arm for the PDP in the UK and everything flipped the moment Jonathan lost and he cashed in on the ever gullible, jobless youths. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nS6HitcBPxQ |
latsy:I totally agree with you. The company was most likely set up to launder funds and it was abandoned the moment the processes pulled through. |
0b100100111:Is this true?? ![]() I'm more interested in how he was expelled from a football academy in the UK for stealing shin guards ![]() |
OkoNDOoBo:Kanu was a secretary, according to the site and not director. Therefore, his pay would be around £15 a month, if not lesser than that. ![]() Edited: There's no way he would earn close to £15, since the debt of the company had gulped the token with which the company started with. Besides, am I the only one who noticed that Kanu and his wife worked for the same company, which is clearly against most companies' policies, and ended up resigning on the same day? What were this people really doing? Cc Omenka |
sample09:You're not looking at the 'cost of living' angle. You can't just migrate to areas with throat slashing cost of living, save you're planning on sleeping under a bridge. |
Efewestern:They never did, actually. Just partying for three days and that ended it. |
4dor:Sadly, Reno is an educated illiterate, just like the APC who made restructuring a party affair. One of the many problems of The Delta is people like Reno, Asari, Clarke, Boyloaf and a host of others who have channelled the so-called struggle of the people to their pockets. As for Atiku, the one thing he would never have is the presidency. He should channel his money into helping unfortunate Almajiris and not in elections he won't win. |
This is very graphic. The problem with the African mentality is that we must bring down whatever in the name of meat and survival. We need re-orientation on certain areas, particularly wildlife and nature. |
Efewestern:True. The church rejected my grandfather's but it didn't prevent his children from partying for three days. The church tool over almost everything and didn't take their leave until he was finally laid to rest. I fear the ancestor's cult, really. |
So IPOB already has a high priest and he is a rastafarian? What do you know? ![]() |
This post reminds me of the passing of my maternal grandfather in 2006. He was a pure soul who passed on at 120 and was never bedridden for once. The Anglican church rejected the ancestors cult for him because he was a priest almost all his life. Besides, is the first breath not called 'enwen esosuo' as opposed to the 'enwen ovo'? |
codemaniacs:Your theory is totally wrong. The colonialists were the Brits and they threw their weight behind Nigeria during the war. Besides, it seems you prolly never understood what led to the war. At the time, the resources in the present day South South was under the control of the then Old Eastern region which Ojukwu happened to be the governor. The then system allowed for Nigeria to control all resources regardless of where they are located. Oloibiri Oil field was discovered in 1956 but Nigeria did not join oil producing countries until 1958. Ojukwu and many Igbos felt marginalised back then in Fed civil service and sought to pull out of Nigeria which at the time was heavily dominated by Northerners. After the Aburi Accord broke down, an obvious Ojukwu who was clearly not prepared for war declared the Old Eastern Region the Republic of Biafra. The implication was obvious as you cannot declare a sovereign state within another; an act of treason. Ojukwu prolly felt the then Old Eastern region would fare better in a different country devoid of Northerners but played the bigger fool for bringing war to his own with little or no preparation. At the end of the day, five bullets per soldier was all the new Biafra could afford. Food supplied were well stashed and shared among Biafran generals after the Nigerian force had cut of the supply from PH. Sadly, the then Biafra could afford war mercenaries from Belgium and a handful of other countries while its children starved to death. At the very end, he fled, leaving Effiong as the C-I-C who later surrendered. Oh, just so you know, Britain and the United States fought against Biafra, contrary to your assertion.
|
NubiLove:I totally agree. The war could have been avoided but like most Igbos, Ojukwu let his emotions get the better side of him. Fine, the Aburi Accord failed because Gowon prolly never understood the demands of Ojukwu during their meeting until the Accord was explained to him in details, which eventually made him change his mind the moment they returned to Nigeria. Sadly, Ojukwu could have stayed mum and endured, but he wasn't willing to do so because oil was discovered a year or so. At the end of the day, the purpose of the war was lost, he sacrificed young souls and fled, still under the sovereign authority of Nigeria. |
Okoyiboz3:I am a bit of an alarmist and a theorist. If you've seen the movie 'The Purge Anarchy', you would think the Igbos at some delegate power to one mad man to help purge their own, rest a while and wait another 50 years. Kanu's style might not necessarily be similar to Ojukwu's but he would be the death of many and would again come back as a full fledged Nigerian after the purge is complete. |
attackgat:As a general, he should have stayed back. It's like seeing a ship captain abandon his ship. In Japan, Samurais and war Generals would perform a feat called Seppuku, a form of Japanese ritual suicide by disembowelment. The Seppuku takes place when a Samurai or a General fails and while Ojukwu was never Japanese, fleeing was the height of cowardice after sacrificing two million potential young lives while he took his children with him to Abidjan. At the end of the day, the near three million deaths were for nothing because the same man responsible for their deaths returned to the country a Nigerian and even contested for the Presidency. Calling Ojukwu a coward is an insult to true cowards. |
do4luv14:The money is what most of them look at before the after effect of the punches. I don't see Joshua fighting him though. |
Neminc: ![]() In all honesty, several high profile boxers have been trying to get the attention of AJ for a match. A recent one is Pulev. Anything for the attention, really. |
sukkot:At this point, I'm lost for words. I think you're more messed up with soccer than I envisaged ![]() |
martineverest:Honest opinion: I think Hazard is good but remains an average player. Griezmann just committed to ATM and Liverpool is reluctant in releasing Coutinho. Mbappe? Well, heaven knows I would do all within my power not to see him in the Spanish capital. The dude is purely one overhyped player. Sadly, Barca has started neglecting the La Masia, the farmhouse they picked their stars from and have started signature signings just because they want to compete with Madrid while Madrid, on the other hand, has been handpicking players from the Castilla. Neymar would have a field day in France but as far as the Champions League is concerned? They would only keep coming back. |
sukkot:I agree with you, but the truth is, soccer remains a beautiful game. There are days the elements of surprise creeps in and the days pundits have a field day. If you see a typical build up to a goal in soccer, I bet you would change your perception of the round leather game. |
