unclejb2:Ukraine doesn't have the firepower to. Plus, NATO and the EU would have advised Zelensky not to be on the offensive as that might take away the public sympathy away from Ukraine and Ukrainians. However, intel and weapons have proven to be resourceful to Ukraine so far. Kremlin must be upset right now and it knows it can't send its calvary. It would win but Russia would give the West an idea of its strength. |
Prosperous111:This is it. On paper, NATO can't get involved but 'unauthorised fighters' can join in. You just have to imagine the sort of fire power Ukraine has to withstand the constant Russian attack. Putin can't claim the EU, UN, and NATO are directly involved but he must be suspicious since the start of the war. |
Efewestern:Again, that was different in that temporary waivers were granted for oil importation from certain countries. If you check out the list of sanctions, their weight and who backed the United States on those sanctions, you'd realise that it is nothing close to what Russia is experiencing at the moment. Even Russian media covered the anti-war protests and were the first to sum up the figure of over 5,700 Russians already arrested before it got to the CNN and bulk of the Western Media. Putin started this war without the full backing of his very cabinet let alone the people of Russia. Since the war, he has fired nothing less than two people in the top ranks of the military. Propaganda will run normally but not when Russian TikTokers are going live with the protests. Also, you need to ask why Russia, as powerful and huge as its army is is yet to fully invade Ukraine. This is day four and areas Russian troops took over have been wrestled out of their hands. Putin has looked to Chechnya mercs to fight his fight and that is not even enough given how brutal Chechnya's fighters are. Ukraine will lose heavily and so will Russia. There is no victor in war but this particular war won't be a walk in the park for Russia. The sanctions have been devastating on Russia's economy and it was the same that many referred to as 'toothless' initially. |
rodini5551:Hungary and Russia have a long-standing relationship. |
Efewestern:The Iraqi sanctions and that of Russia are very different and Iraqi had little success because the entire country went with the government unlike what applies with Putin and Russia. In the case of Iraq, it was mainly targeted at agriculture and the government upped its agricultural game almost instantly but there were deaths, malnutrition and outbreak of diseases on a large scale. Russia's economy is regarded as 'middle upper economy', not buoyant, not poor. However, these sanctions are not just coming from the UK and US or the United Nations, like that of Iraq but the West, including some Eastern Europe countries and neighbouring countries of Russia. What's worse is that they can still sell weapons and oil but can't receive money since SWIFT is unavailable to them. Russians made panic withdrawals, their oligarchs were hit with direct sanctions and there have been protests in Moscow despite massive arrests. Except the people support their government, sanctions as this one turn the people against their government and worse — the oligarchs who support the government. It is very different from that of Iraq. |
SarkinYarki:And who will put them on SWIFT? LMAO! ![]() |
SarkinYarki:Did you know why? Because Eastern Europe formed an alliance — the USSR. No one country beats an alliance except in movies. Like I said, I doubt you understand what is at play here. Russia's ban is useless because SWIFT is unavailable to them. |
SarkinYarki:I doubt you understood the article. Anyways, Putin and Russia won't last 4 weeks with this sanctions. I don't see how they will survive it. Internal conflict will most likely tear Russia apart if this lingers. Putin's fears are valid but like Ojukwu, he failed to analyse the West's worst case scenario. |
VEHINTOLAR:37% as of 2020 sef. Didn't know I mentioned a wrong quote for the United States. https://www.statista.com/statistics/267131/market-share-of-the-leadings-exporters-of-conventional-weapons/ |
Zulu2022:Russia is all noise. |
Help2020:Research? USAhttps://armedforces.eu/compare/country_USA_vs_Russia Russiahttps://armedforces.eu/compare/country_USA_vs_Russia I sincerely don't understand the pepper soup gist you guys peddle around to have arrived at the conclusion that Russia has more nuclear warheads than the United States. Now provide your source. |
Help2020:The United States produces 30% of weapons in the world. Russia produces 20% while France and Germany come in at a distant third and fourth. |
Zulu2022:Russian can't attack any NATO country. I repeat, Russia does not have the balls to attack any NATO country. |
Help2020:You guys keep shouting 'Russia is ready'. FFS, Russia has just 6000+ nuclear warheads while the United States, as of 1960 had 30,000! You guys still don't understand that Russia is not a manufacturing or producing nation like China and the United States. Russia is not what most of you think it is on paper. |
BluntTheApostle:Read up on wars! Propaganda is a war tool. Controlling the media is controlling 1/3 of any war. Unfortunately, you can't get a balanced view during wars. At best, you'll get conflicting reports. If the West and NATO ban Russian media, then Putin is half defeated. Russian media tried on their part by reporting in Russia that Ukraine was the aggressor. It's not whether or not you like it. Deploying a sound propaganda machinery during war is psychological and the West just one on this. |
BluntTheApostle:You are contradicting yourself here. True, propaganda is a part of war and it is about who controls the narrative. It could be via sanctions, ban or force. Propaganda is essential in winning any war and the EU is not wrong to take this step. Russia's troll farm has been on overdrive since the war started. However, they added bullying and threats, which exactly isn't bad in times like this. There is nothing like 'free speech' when cards are off the table. It's war and the earlier we understand it, the better for our very own sanity. |
baralatie:International politics is clearly above you. Just stick to local politics and talk PDP/APC. No offence intended. |
baralatie:This has got to be one of the most ridiculous submissions in the history of submissions. First, you claimed Zelensky was installed by the West in 2014 and in one full swing claim he was the tipping edge of whatever Buhari didn't do. Perhaps you first need to understand when he ventured into politics because as of 2014, Zelensky was already going public and fighting Ukraine's cultural ministry for banning Russian artists in Ukraine. It wasn't until 2018 that Zelensky ventured into politics - four years after the coup. How then was an actor and comedian who ventured into politics in 2018 the 'tipping edge' of the problem that started in 2014 between Ukraine and Russia ![]() |
baralatie:The coup took place in 2014. Zelensky became president in 2019. How then are they related? |
Suspect33:Russia can't afford a full scale attack and the reason for that is pretty much simple. Russia has 6000 nuclear warheads and a supposed 'large' army and a full scale invasion means Russia would show the West the true strength of her soldiers. Unfortunately for Putin, Ukraine is already giving Russia a run for its money and that is making Russia look weak as it is, which was why Putin resorted to mercenaries. Regardless, a Russian full scale attack will crumble Ukraine within 3 days but that can't happen. Plus Russia's economy isn't that buoyant. Ukraine is currently enjoying massive Western support in terms of weapons and funding. A full scale invasion means it will cost the economy of Russia during and after the war. And then there is the issue of Sweden and Finland. |
It wasn't a Russian tank but an Ukrainian tank. It was a mistake and the old man driving the car miraculously survived. |
foleskay:Don't know about that but if you listened to the video, you'd hear the former president say it. Anyways, British troops just transported their gears, tanks and weapons to Estonia about an hour ago while Russia has also threatened Finland and Sweden just as they did Ukraine. It is going to be a long war indeed. |
Mynd44:So what happens after Zelensky resigns? The truth is, NATO chose not to step in for two major reasons: 1. Russian nukes in the hands of a crazed man. 2. And the fact that Ukraine is not YET a member of NATO. Believe me, the world will not stand by and watch Russia have a field day in Ukraine and the reason for this is simple; we are talking about a sovereign nation here and whether or not we like it, they have the right to align and go with whomever. And then there are other crased countries and dictators such as China vs Hong Kong, North Korea vs South Korea, and Asia's boogeyman; Japan. Perhaps it might be NATO in the end, perhaps not, but a field day for Putin means a field day for powerful nations over weaker ones. |
According to him, 800 Russian soldiers were killed the day before and the defence minister confirmed it. Putin is all noise. |
engrrichie92:£4000 monthly for a tech bro? See, the pay is ridiculous! From where I'm standing, I'd say don't take it because suffering awaits in full glare. Nigeria is cheap, I'll tell you that and N1.5 million is decent not to pressure you. Bills would make that money look like modern slavery save you plan on becoming a minimalist and by that, I mean, deny yourself of basic privileges. If you are unmarried, then by all means consider it and look for a healthworker to compliment your salary then give your kids a fighting chance by handing them UK citizenship. Other than that, run. |
Holluwhakemmy:Pregnancy starts counting from a woman's last menstrual cycle and not on the day she last had sex that led to it. |
GTkester:You know nothing, apparently. The sanctions will likely not just hit Russia but Russian oligarchs and friends of Putin in Europe and the United States. Russia won't survive a sanction from the US, the UK and the EU. Putin himself said this already because he knows the world will be the casualty but the greater one will impact Russia. Economic sanctions will cripple Russia within 3 days. |
trutharena:Care to explain the rumour circulating about him messing himself at Babangida's villa in Minna? How about you explain the two videos that made it to social media platforms roughly two weeks ago and why his aide had to cover his nose? It is normal to sweat but no one sweats from bottom - top, it is the other way around. Until you show me his full back view in the new video, all of these amounts to nothing. However, there is no denying that he is the most serious presidential aspirant at the moment. The truth there is that he is sick and probably suffering from incontinence. |
HardMirror:You're welcome, chief. Chinese companies operating in Nigeria are ridiculous save their tech companies. The ones in manufacturing & productions, fintech/finance, jewellery, sales, construction and mining, etc, adore slave labour and treat their staff poorly. Their working conditions are so terrible that toxicity and abuse of all kinds are seen and regarded as normal. |
6. It is not your Job to get people to pay their loans. That job belongs to the courts not you. Stop letting your employers oppress you. Quite that useless job now and stop letting them pressure you and make it seem it is your job to get the loans recovered.HardMirror, you're wrong about this. The long and short of your thread is about 'LOAN RECOVERY OFFICERS'. Perhaps, what you have said is true, particularly to those who work with those petty Chinese loan companies but the story is different for some institutions such as RenMoney and a few special loan recovery companies. There are debt recovery officers in almost every sector, that offer either loans or postpaid services. Whether loan or debt recovery, their functions are pretty much the same and their KPIs are almost generally the same. That said, their pay is pretty much decent because they get periodic commissions and some bonuses. I have a couple of close people who work as debt recovery officers and their conditions are pretty much good for their level. IT IS NOT THE PREROGATIVE OF THE COURT TO RECOVER LOANS OR DEBTS. Prolonged debts at some point are sent to the legal unit of organisations who then begin the legal processes while some are totally written off and referred to as 'bad debts'. Those in the latter class are totally written off and forgotten. |
Back now after about 4 minutes. Phew! |
Google isn't working. Who is else has observed this?
