This is a nonsense take. Whitney Houston, at some point, had a net worth of $115 million but left behind a -$20 million net worth at the time of her death.

Whether rich or poor, drugs will always bring you to ground zero. Be as wealthy as Bezos or Musk and get addicted to Meth, you might not be able to afford a simple meal in the end.

Nigerian youths have now graduated from Igbo to doing crystal meth? Igbo is no longer enough for their empty heads?

This is the first time I am reading about crystal meth being in Nigeria.

This has got to be one of the funniest threads on this forum! grin grin

This is almost similar to Nollywood movies of those days where rich folks spend a lot to raise their daughters, give them the best of education and all, only for them to fall in love with some stubborn, wretched dudes whose families have never seen a miniflat.

Crime › Sars May Have Been Disbanded But Rogue Police Operatives Are Still Around! by Sanchez01(op): 9:47am On Nov 08, 2021
I probably should be the last person to write about this but I had a first-hand experience of rogue police operatives on Saturday (November 6, 2021) around Anthony, specifically at the bend that annexes Ikorodu Road and Oshodi at exactly 8:30 AM and it has only forced me into believing that SARs, the rogue unit that led to the #EndSARs protest might have been disbanded on paper but they still move around freely and harass the living hell out of Lagosians and Nigerians, particularly those from whom they smell 'blood'.

I was to meet up with my ophthalmologist at Anthony Bus Stop (instead of visiting his office at Ojuelegba), to get my new glasses before moving out to Ijegun for an engagement on Saturday. Since I was in the company of two other persons and we were driving, I called my ophthalmologist that I would come down to Ojuelegba to get my glasses when coming back from Ijegun as we were running late.

For those who know the Anthony bend that links to Oshodi very well, you would agree that there is a vulcaniser on that small bend but does not impede vehicular movements. As a matter of fact, a sedan cleared beside the vulcaniser despite policemen at the tip of the bend directing traffic. All of these gave us a sense of confidence that nothing could go wrong. So we cleared while I walked barely two metres from the car to cancel my bus stop engagement and proceed to Ijegun.

Within seconds, a Honda Crosstour with the plate number KJA-904FW (if my eyes were not deceiving me as I was without my glasses) blocked us and four police operatives jumped off in a drug-bust fashion and commanded that the car keys be handed to them. "All of you, enter now, we are going to the station!", one of them yelled. Of the four, two were in uniform while the other two were not. I just stood on one spot, speechless for a minute while trying to process what is playing out. The two with me, a male and female had started pleading and trying to explain the other car but they ignored. They kept barking orders and threatening to shoot even though they didn't carry a gun.

I moved closer to join in pleading and was surprised at the fact that they reeked of local gin (ogogoro). The two on mufti wore dark jeans, palm slippers and a black police jacket on their shirts. At this time, they had created quite a scene with their yelling while the other policemen controlling traffic looked on, as well passersby.

Then one of them jumped onto the steering and commanded that we all get in, else they would drive off without us. Sensing what was at play already, I calmly brought out my phone, went close to their car and snapped their plate number. At this time, four had entered their Crosstour while one was prepared to drive us. I didn't know what happened, but the four in the Crosstour came down all of a sudden. The driver, supposedly a policeman, hefty, walked towards me speaking Yoruba 'O se ma ya plate number motor mi?' (why will you snap my plate number?). 'Fun mi ni phone yen', give me the phone now!?', he barked. The lady with us quickly jumped between us to prevent him from reaching me and quickly, he launched one of his legs at me in an effort to kick me but missed. Then he stormed towards his car. By this time, the one who sat in our car had joined theirs and called out to come take our car key. I was still trying to turn on my camera to take more pictures before they dropped the key and zoomed off facing Oshodi.

If anything, I'd like to believe members of the rogue SARs operatives are still very much around.

I have come to discover the essence of sellers' lies on product duration is not because they want people to buy faster but because of the pricing. He advertised a 5kva, '6 months used' for 180k while the brand new 7kva retails for about 270k. The brand new of the 5kva is about 220. grin. Who heads this association of skit makers and who are its excos?

For all its worth, Osinbajo is moving quickly to sell himself to Nigerian youths through this useless skit makers. There is no denying that Pastor midget intends to run and the hungry influencers are the face of his campaign.

Recently, you have been posting original images of footwears sourced from Jiji lately and then back up with your version after one or two posts. I'd like to believe you are doing this deliberately because I would never understand why you are posting original versions of the footwear when the pricing and latter images suggest otherwise. If things go sideways with another buyer now, you will come out and ask them how they expect to buy original for that amount when you are clearly marketing with the original. This isn't the way to go.
Christianity Etc › Re: Pastor Eno: A Woman’s Role In Her Husband’s House Is To Increase His Wealth by Sanchez01(m): 3:12pm On Nov 01, 2021
LilMissFavvy:
So What is wrong with a woman building her own wealth? Why must it be her husband's wealth that she should build?. By the way, why is this pastor flaunting that set of teeth?
Not sure you really understand God's standard and definition of marriage. There is no 'I' in God's standard for marriage. The man's property is for the two and the woman's property is for the two as well. Marriage isn't by standard, a partnership. A man is designed to be a provider while a woman is designed to be a nurturer. The ability to increase the resources in the home is not given to the man but the woman. Prov 14:1 confirms this.

The idea behind 'his own wealth' and 'her own wealth' falls short of the real scope of marriage and it somehow gives an idea into why most marriages flop. Everyone has their own standard today; all of which frustrates leaving and cleaving and two being a flesh.

Not to attack anyone, I am curious why people buy EXPENSIVE imitations.

(e.g) Buy a fake Rolex @ 200k. If I want to buy a fake, I will buy the fakest of them all. The one of 10k, highest 20k. I won’t buy the original fake, though I know the quality is different.

But if at all I have 200k to splurge on a watch. Rather than buy a fake Rolex, I rather buy the original of another brand. Fossil, Michael Kors…etc

Just like ladies that spend hundreds of thousands buying fake Hermes. Why not an original River Island bag?

We are just brand freaks. lipsrsealed
The said imitations are usually not expensive. The Hublot, 'Invecta', Rolex, etc knock off are originally sold in the region of 7,500 - 10k, depending on their complexities and designs. And the same thing almost goes for bags, and wears. The surge in their pricing is attributed to none of other than middlemen who understand digital marketing but have no capital and a brick and mortar shop. What they do is market on behalf of the original sellers, fulfil an order and take their cut from every sale depending on their level of greed.

Sometimes, they make nearly a 100% profit in some cases and mostly between 30%-50% in most. How do I know this? I have a direct seller of imitation watches and I periodically patronise him. I have more than 7 wrist watches and the most expensive I have ever bought is 10k; all all is Invecta. As against the price of 30k+ on this thread and on social media platforms, any wise person would know better to find a a direct seller outside of cyber space.

Imitations are not expensive at all. If you are calm and patient enough, you might even know where the sellers buy and buy directly from there if you are neck deep into them.

I doubt if this is a drone shot because even if it is, where ever the drone operator is, some level of tension will be felt cos the sound of those guns will scare him and occasionally the video will shake... Could this be a propaganda video as always?

Now I confirm your ignorance is from a single perspective. UNILAG is not the standard of education in Nigeria. For Arts students taking JAMB, the four subjects they take is English, Literature, Government/History and a Nigerian Language OR a religious subject.

For Political Science, the subject combination for JAMB is English, Literature, Economics and Government or History. Generally, 5 credits are required from the aforementioned and AT LEAST A PASS IN MATHEMATICS!

Looking at the chap's result, he has the needed credits to sit for JAMB and get into a higher institution if he aces his JAMB examination. D7 is a pass last I checked, right?

Plus, HE DIDN'T ASK THAT HE WANTS TO STUDY POL SCIENCE, SO WHY BRING IT UP WHEN THE COURSE IN QUESTION IS MASS COMMUNICATION? Your response is a major reason why most undergraduates/graduates are unemployable. Poor understanding of the subject matter but the peppersouping must go on just to argue blindly.

Had something similar in Mathematics and studied nearly the same course, not just in a any university but OAU. Standard of education compared to what applies over a decade ago has diminished. So what on God's green earth are you yapping about?

Mathematics is not a prerequisite for Art related courses. A pass will do in most cases save in situations where the competition is high.

Career › Re: Contract Telecoms Or Full Time Elsewhere? by Sanchez01(m): 2:15pm On Oct 29, 2021
AdeniyiAr9:
Good morning house,
I currently work with one of the telecoms companies in Nigeria on a contract job; the pay is 60k (720k per annum). However, aside my salary, I do one or two things on the job that gives me like 10 k every week.

Approximately I earn about 100 k every month. I started this job started early this year.
While on this job, I got connected for a new job with an indigenous oil company on a full time basis and was surprised the pay is 1.2m per annum, though I truthfully expected more. For this new job am to leave my comfort zone in south western Nigeria for the south south.

I currently run my masters degree, meaning I will have to defer my admission. I'm also very much always needed in Church

Note my current job is without leave and it's contract based. But the new one is full time and am entitled to 5 weeks leave yearly.

Please serious advice needed. No bashing of any sort
First off, understand you are a contractor with the telecoms company and they don't handle your affairs when it comes to salaries amongst other things. Definitely, you are missing out on staff incentives and privileges. Unfortunately, contracted staff don't really stand a chance at becoming full time staff within the telecoms industry save you have bosses who like you and personally recommend you. Regardless, don't think of that happening anytime soon as there are those who have been on the waiting list for over a decade.

We are always needed in church and with or without you, the church will do just fine. As a matter of fact, you will be looked down on by the church if you are not sound financially.

At 1.2m annually, I would suggest you take this as it is quite better compared to telecoms. I once worked in the sector and felt nothing but pity for contract staff. You don't stand a chance here. My only concern is having to defer your Masters. Other than that, SWITCH ASAP!
