With the level of confusion and chaos all over the world at this time, same-sex attraction is the problem of Biden and the United States. Worse is the fact that Nigeria has been reduced to nothing but a nation dependent on others. How are we going to beg for vaccines and ventilators on social media should the US government sanction us?
On a more serious note, the sanction will force Nigeria to review its gay laws and change them almost immediately. We are not in any way equipped to manage the effect of sanctions from developed nations. |

Biden Threatens Financial, Visa Sanctions Against Nigeria, Others Over Anti-gay Laws
President Joe Biden has issued a presidential memorandum aimed at expanding protection of the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer and intersex (LGBTQI) people worldwide, including potentially through the use of financial sanctions.
Nigeria's anti-gay laws have been increasingly criticised by global rights groups, which have categorised the country as overtly homophobic.
Despite international pressure, ex-President Goodluck Jonathan signed the Same-Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act in January 2014, prescribing between 10 to 14 years in prison for cohabitation between same-sex sexual partners, public show of same-sex relationship, registration, operation or participation in gay clubs, societies and organisation, amongst others.
As a predominantly conservative country, it is unlikely that Nigeria would revisit its anti-gay marriage law to strengthen bilateral relations with the United States.
However, the Biden Presidency threatens" "swift and meaningful" responses, including financial sanctions against countries found guilty of human rights abuses of LGBTQI+ persons.
The memo warned: "When foreign governments move to restrict the rights of LGBTQI+ persons or fail to enforce legal protections in place, thereby contributing to a climate of intolerance, agencies engaged abroad shall consider appropriate responses, including using the full range of diplomatic and assistance tools and, as appropriate, financial sanctions, visa restrictions, and other actions."
"All human beings should be treated with respect and dignity and should be able to live without fear no matter who they are or whom they love," said the memorandum, building on a 2011 directive issued when Biden was serving as vice president.
"The United States belongs at the forefront of this struggle - speaking out and standing strong for our most dearly held values."
Biden campaigned on a pledge to pass LGBTQ rights legislation known as the Equality Act in the first 100 days of his administration and make LGBTQ rights a top priority.
The memo directs US agencies working abroad to work harder to combat the criminalisation by foreign governments of LGBTQ status or conduct, and directs the State Department to include anti-LGBTQ violence, discrimination and laws in its annual human rights report.
It calls for increased efforts to ensure that LGBTQ asylum seekers have equal access to protection, expanded training for US federal personnel, and potential increased use of priority referrals to expedite resettlement of vulnerable people.
It also instructs agencies to consider appropriate responses, including the full range of diplomatic tools, and potentially financial sanctions and visa restrictions, when foreign governments restrict the rights of LGBTQ people.
Biden announced the push during a forceful speech at the State Department, vowing to rebuild US credibility worldwide.
"To further repair our moral leadership, I'm also issuing a presidential memo to agencies to reinvigorate our leadership on the LGBTQI issues and do it internationally," he said.
Below is the full statement by Biden:
MEMORANDUM FOR THE HEADS OF EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENTS AND AGENCIES
This memorandum reaffirms and supplements the principles established in the Presidential Memorandum of December 6, 2011 (International Initiatives to Advance the Human Rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Persons). That memorandum, for the first time, directed executive departments and agencies (agencies) engaged abroad to ensure that United States diplomacy and foreign assistance promote and protect the human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender persons everywhere. This memorandum builds upon that historic legacy and updates the 2011 memorandum.
All human beings should be treated with respect and dignity and should be able to live without fear no matter who they are or whom they love. Around the globe, including here at home, brave lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex (LGBTQI+) activists are fighting for equal protection under the law, freedom from violence, and recognition of their fundamental human rights. The United States belongs at the forefront of this struggle — speaking out and standing strong for our most dearly held values. It shall be the policy of the United States to pursue an end to violence and discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or sex characteristics, and to lead by the power of our example in the cause of advancing the human rights of LGBTQI+ persons around the world.
Through this memorandum, I am directing all agencies engaged abroad to ensure that United States diplomacy and foreign assistance promote and protect the human rights of LGBTQI+ persons. Specifically, I direct the following actions, consistent with applicable law:
Section 1. Combating Criminalization of LGBTQI+ Status or Conduct Abroad. Agencies engaged abroad are directed to strengthen existing efforts to combat the criminalization by foreign governments of LGBTQI+ status or conduct and expand efforts to combat discrimination, homophobia, transphobia, and intolerance on the basis of LGBTQI+ status or conduct. The Department of State shall, on an annual basis and as part of the annual report submitted to the Congress pursuant to sections 116(d) and 502B(b) of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 (22 U.S.C. 2151n(d) and 2304(b)), report on human rights abuses experienced by LGBTQI+ persons globally. This reporting shall include anti-LGBTQI+ laws as well as violence and discrimination committed by both state and nonstate actors against LGBTQI+ persons.
Sec. 2. Protecting Vulnerable LGBTQI+ Refugees and Asylum Seekers. LGBTQI+ persons who seek refuge from violence and persecution face daunting challenges. In order to improve protection for LGBTQI+ refugees and asylum seekers at all stages of displacement, the Departments of State and Homeland Security shall enhance their ongoing efforts to ensure that LGBTQI+ refugees and asylum seekers have equal access to protection and assistance, particularly in countries of first asylum. In addition, the Departments of State, Justice, and Homeland Security shall ensure appropriate training is in place so that relevant Federal Government personnel and key partners can effectively identify and respond to the particular needs of LGBTQI+ refugees and asylum seekers, including by providing to them adequate assistance and ensuring that the Federal Government takes all appropriate steps, such as potential increased use of Embassy Priority-1 referrals, to identify and expedite resettlement of highly vulnerable persons with urgent protection needs.
Sec. 3. Foreign Assistance to Protect Human Rights and Advance Nondiscrimination. Agencies involved with foreign aid, assistance, and development programs shall expand their ongoing efforts to ensure regular Federal Government engagement with governments, citizens, civil society, and the private sector to promote respect for the human rights of LGBTQI+ persons and combat discrimination. Agencies involved with foreign aid, assistance, and development programs should consider the impact of programs funded by the Federal Government on human rights, including the rights of LGBTQI+ persons, when making funding decisions, as appropriate and consistent with applicable law.
Sec. 4. Swift and Meaningful United States Responses to Human Rights Abuses of LGBTQI+ Persons Abroad. The Department of State shall lead a standing group, with appropriate interagency representation, to help ensure the Federal Government’s swift and meaningful response to serious incidents that threaten the human rights of LGBTQI+ persons abroad. When foreign governments move to restrict the rights of LGBTQI+ persons or fail to enforce legal protections in place, thereby contributing to a climate of intolerance, agencies engaged abroad shall consider appropriate responses, including using the full range of diplomatic and assistance tools and, as appropriate, financial sanctions, visa restrictions, and other actions.
Sec. 5. Building Coalitions of Like-Minded Nations and Engaging International Organizations in the Fight Against LGBTQI+ Discrimination. Bilateral relationships with allies and partners, as well as multilateral fora and international organizations, are key vehicles to promote respect for and protection of the human rights of LGBTQI+ persons and to bring global attention to these goals. Agencies engaged abroad should strengthen the work they have done and initiate additional efforts with other nations, bilaterally and within multilateral fora and international organizations, to: counter discrimination on the basis of LGBTQI+ status or conduct; broaden the number of countries willing to support and defend the human rights of LGBTQI+ persons; strengthen the role, including in multilateral fora, of civil society advocates on behalf of the human rights of LGBTQI+ persons; and strengthen the policies and programming of multilateral institutions, including with respect to protecting vulnerable LGBTQI+ refugees and asylum seekers.
Sec. 6. Rescinding Inconsistent Policies and Reporting on Progress. Within 100 days of the date of this memorandum or as soon as possible thereafter, all agencies engaged abroad shall review and, as appropriate and consistent with applicable law, take steps to rescind any directives, orders, regulations, policies, or guidance inconsistent with this memorandum, including those issued from January 20, 2017, to January 20, 2021, to the extent that they are inconsistent with this memorandum. The heads of such agencies shall also, within 100 days of the date of this memorandum, report to the President on their progress in implementing this memorandum and recommend additional opportunities and actions to advance the human rights of LGBTQI+ persons around the world. Agencies engaged abroad shall each prepare a report within 180 days of the date of this memorandum, and annually thereafter, on their progress toward advancing these initiatives. All such agencies shall submit these reports to the Department of State, which will compile a report on the Federal Government’s progress in advancing these initiatives for transmittal to the President. The Department of State shall make a version of the compiled annual report available to the Congress and the public.
Sec. 7. Definitions. (a) For the purposes of this memorandum, agencies engaged abroad include the Departments of State, the Treasury, Defense, Justice, Agriculture, Commerce, Labor, Health and Human Services, and Homeland Security, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), the Millennium Challenge Corporation, the Export-Import Bank of the United States, the Office of the United States Trade Representative, and such other agencies as the President may designate.
(b) For the purposes of this memorandum, agencies involved with foreign aid, assistance, and development programs include the Departments of State, the Treasury, Defense, Justice, Agriculture, Commerce, Labor, Health and Human Services, and Homeland Security, USAID, DFC, the Millennium Challenge Corporation, the Export-Import Bank of the United States, the Office of the United States Trade Representative, and such other agencies as the President may designate.
Sec. 8. General Provisions. (a) Nothing in this memorandum shall be construed to impair or otherwise affect:
(i) the authority granted by law to an executive department, agency, or the head thereof; or
(ii) the functions of the Director of the Office of Management and Budget relating to budgetary, administrative, or legislative proposals.
(b) This memorandum shall be implemented consistent with applicable law and subject to the availability of appropriations.
(c) This memorandum is not intended to, and does not, create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States, its departments, agencies, or entities, its officers, employees, or agents, or any other person.
(d) The Secretary of State is authorized and directed to publish this memorandum in the Federal Register.

The Nigerian government by all indications is bent on strangulating her youth populace. After all if the youths all become self-dependent who would rig elections or do their dirty bidding.
Countries like Rwanda, South Africa, Kenya, and Ghana can take up this challenge to take Nigeria's skilled populace and develop their country at an even faster rate. Call it weaponizing poverty... |

GamalNasser: I doubt it's because of end sars ...Nigerians have been storing their values in bit coin so much that in the last 5 year over 100 billion dollars of Nigerian values hva e found their way into the crypto market .And tho be sincere it entirely the fault of the Buharis poor leadership which has made the naira so unstable that NIGERIAns now prefer to save the wealth in Bit coin ... I understand what the CBN is trying to do but the truth is if the Naira is not stabilized nobody will store his wealth in such a currency and the will look for another way to store it... Expect demand for dollars to rise by over 100 percent by next week It makes sense but I do not fully align with your explanation. Crypto is an open, free-market and we all know it is volatile. Nigerians with extra liver have been the ones still continuing with crypto. Right now, it is much more difficult to buy Bitcoins, no thanks to its price. But the pattern before anything... And the fact that the whole thing is linear points to the fact that the government is intentional and seeking new strategies of frustrating those who once had the strength cum support to join in the protest. I might have believed your explanation but Bitcoin didn't just rise to its position. The Naira hasn't fell in a while and I have no reasons to be the CBN and the FG acted in the interest of the economy. If anything, I'll say Bitcoin propels economic growth rather than destroy it. |

The CBN's move to go after crypto exchange bank accounts is a well thought out, calculated move to stifle the youths, zone in on them and prevent a future #EndSARS reoccurrence. As a matter of fact, this makes it the second government's policy in the past 3-4 months and it has been nothing but a well-calculated move to zone in on the youths, when in fact, none of these policies has no positive impact on the lives of the common Nigerian people. NINFirst was the sudden NIN registration which the federal government, through Pantami, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy forced on Nigerians at a time when the government warned that the country should brace itself for a second wave of the COVID-19. The urgency, I believe, meant something and the initial deadline meant the government didn't care about the safety of its citizens. But what was the motive behind the NIN registration in the first place?During the height of the protest, certain politicians' personal numbers were released. These politicians claimed they were 'heavily cursed' over the phone by youths. Femi Adesina confirmed the same on national TV, claiming he 'recieved curses on his phone': https://punchng.com/endsars-ive-received-curses-on-my-phone-adesina/. The likes of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Lai Mohammed, Femi Gbaja, Yemi Osinbajo and even the president's numbers were released online. Some lawmakers claimed they were also cursed over the phone and could not trace the numbers because some of them were registered to multiple users, no thanks to the aggressive SIM recycling behaviours of telcos. To curtail this and probably prevent a future reoccurrence, NIN was mandated. This way, it becomes easy to get the full details of a user just by looking up their NIN. Social Media BanDuring the protest, there were rumours that the FG was making moves to block social media in Nigeria as it was the rallying point for protesters across the country. What started as a rumour soon became the song on Lai Mohammed's lips. The Minister of Information and Culture made repeated calls to 'limit' social media so that it does not end up being used as a tool for anarchy. Perhaps the government might have 'tested' the reactions of Nigerians by blocking certain social media platforms, most importantly Twitter via telcos but the reactions were too strong and the government suspended the plan, even though certain people within the government are still coming out to every once in a while to call for social media ban or, at best, 'restriction'. Recently, Festus Keyamo asked that NIN be mapped to one social media account since social media companies avoid responsibilities: If the Social Media companies must avoid responsibility, the solution is to ensure that EVERY SM account can only be opened or operate if it’s registered with a Nat. I.D number and photograph that correspond with those in govts database so that we eliminate anonymous accounts https://twitter.com/fkeyamo/status/1355829661582979072CryptocurrencyWhy poor cryptocurrency when it didn't join in the #EndSARS protest? Recall the CBN blocked accounts used for receiving donations during the protest and also went ahead to block bank accounts of certain social media influencers. It was supposed to be the game changer and tilt the social media war towards the government's side but the youths, through Feminist Coalition quickly humiliated the CBN and federal government, turning to cryptocurrency almost immediately. It turned out to be a blessing because international donations became easier. Jack Dorsey, Twitter's CEO openly supported the call to end police brutality and even assisted with tweeting Femco's crypto addresses. And then came the #EndSARS Twitter emoji. The government was losing and it knew it. The CBN was useless as it has no hold on cryptocurrency in Nigeria. The government quickly labelled #EndSARS as 'terrorism', like it did groups that resisted the government, claiming it was being funded by some international bodies to disrupt the 'peace' and unity of Nigeria. With the surge of Bitcoin recently, one would think the dinosauric government we have will start embracing it but no, like a sad, bitter, vindictive ex-lover, the government has been plotting, scheming and thinking about how it can get closer to making sure that there is no future repeat of a youth protest in Nigeria. If anything, the CBN is playing out a script and the crypto move is only to move the pilot of the protest into a kill box, possibly incapacitate them and make sure they are incapable of staging an upset in the nearest future.

He is a man, presumably an adult who is capable of making decisions for himself. Perhaps you are overprotective, which seems normal but the truth is you might end up losing a part of him if you don't realize that the best you can do is counsel and look on. The mere fact that you are too involved, snooping on your brother's affair is why you've been reduced to nothing with his girlfriend. The disrespect, unfortunately, won't be going away anytime soon. Music/Radio › Re: I Just Recorded A Song With My Life Savings, Am So Depressed Right Now. by Sanchez01(m): 5:32pm On Jan 28, 2021 |
Iamdbull: I decided to open a new account to post this, as I am posting this am holding tears back because am inside a bus from Lagos back to my base in Ogun state.
The last thing I want in my life is to be a public figure because am a strong introvert and I hardly go out, I just want to be left alone.
Now during this festive period I travelled to my home state and on getting home, everyone was just talking about my old song and they were disturbing me to freestyle for them.
Deep down this started making me feel like am not following my purpose in life, I started having this feeling that on my dying bed I will live to regret that I didnt following my music career and thinking about the number of people my music could have put smile on their faces. I will never forgive myself, because what is life when you cant use your talent to be of service to humanity.
When I see younger artiste like Omah lay, Bella schmurda, etc I start feeling jealous and envious and the last thing I want is to be envious of another man's success.
Now even though everywhere was a lively mood and everywhere bubbling in the studio. On going home I started becoming depressed looking at the amount of money I spent on recording ( I really wanted the best so I decided to work with an expensive professional sound engineer that worked on Wizkid made in lagos album.
I can't tell anybody about what I did because I will be mocked at home for spending such an amount on my useless music career(as they will say at home). Tears is beginning to roll down my eyes as I write this but fortunately everywhere is dark.
I am panicking and feeling the song will be wack when it comes out and am a good for nothing person. I can't hold back tears in the bus.
Below is a picture of when I was invited by glo to come and perform but I bleeped it up because I was too shy to perform well in front of the crowd, Tuface, D'banj, don jazzy, Wizkid were all present
The reason why am writing this here is because nairaland is my only home. it's my only family. I love you all To a reasonable extent, I'd say I'm reserved. The last thing I wanted to do was become a singer but someone dragged me into the choir by chance and I have never looked by since then. At some point, I flopped so hard I thought I would never do music again. But then i picked up myself and went on again. Today, I'd say I am a blend of Mike Abdul and Sammie Okposo, charisma-wise. Strangely, when I talk or when I interact with people, one would never see this. Beyonce is reserved and shy as a human but is 'Sasha Fierce' on stage. Don't let your personality rub off on your talent so bad that it relegates you. If anything, it should be a plus to you. Failure is part of learning. As a matter of fact, I celebrate my failures quite well because they only tell me I need to work more. Success doesn't do that because it is arrogant. The musicians you are envious of have all, at some point had it rough, flopped or thought about giving up. There is an underlying issue that is undefeated here. The sense of failure even when it is yet to arrive is troubling. Just stay consistent and your needed breakthrough will come. So whether or not the song will flop isn't the problem. Learn how those you envy succeeded but focus more on talented people who never had a breakthrough in the music industry. There's a why. All the best. |

pacespot: The problem with these Fulani's is that they don't live and let their host live in peace, that is why they often live in a separate place from their host, like in the bush or outskirt of the town or city. The accommodative nature of Yoruba's made them to surrender ilorin to these marauding Fulani's during the warlord afonja era. They will take over your land from you in a second, they are often in a constant battle with the farmers due to the cattles encroaching on their farm crops. There are vast expanses of land in the north, but these people are not contented, they still want to take over the whole country. There is a reason for that. Fulanis are aliens in Nigeria with eyes on asserting dominance and expanding. They are gradually running over the docile Hausa ethnic group already and are gradually spreading out into becoming the largest ethnic group in Nigeria. I would like to believe the theory above was why RUGA was pushed for in the first place. After all, a Fulani whose grandfather is from Niger is the president of Nigeria. You want to know why the FG is connecting rails to Niger Republic and why the influx of Fulanis have been high in almost every state lately? Well, I am of the opinion that they intend to spread like Uthman Dan Fodio, albeit subtly, but by instilling fears in the heart of their hosts. Isn't it funny that herders will encroach on people's farmlands, kill and rape them and the government will remain mum then tag them herders-farmers crisis? They want to grow, they want to expand and it will be at the expense of their hosts. |

What he didn't tell people is that he literally commanded the Fulani fellow who shot at him to hand over his gun and the mumu did without argument.
While speaking with BBC Yorùbá, Sunday Igboho said the Fulanis are not as powerful as they think or as people think they are.
Sadly, the man is right. He is a big deal and a terror.

Ishilove: Hello sonofjos, thank you for sharing.
People like us who were born and raised here notice a marked difference in the tempo of activities in other areas of the country. I was in Ondo for a year and I almost ran mad there because life in that state is so... sleepy. Everyone was just moving like geriatric patients, unlike Lagos here where if you are too slow, you will be shoved aside. Last last when it was time to leave, I packed my travelling bags and two mighty Ghana-must-go bags and fled the place by 6am.
Lagos is a melting pot of different ethnic groups with different characters, both saintly and shady, so overtime it developed a character unique to it. We talk angrily a lot of the times because there is someone somewhere always trying to provoke you, cheat you, or steal from you so we are always on guard and on the defensive. Someone tried to pick my bag last year but the kind of eye I gave him must have turned his ancestors in their graves.
Add the congested roads and the traffic and you cannot be calm even if you try to. You will be angry for no reason. Yoruba people call it 'kan ra'. Pepper body. That is why danfo drivers behave like animals because one cannot sit inside hold up day in day out, inhaling noxious exhaust fumes, avoiding police, LASTMA, NURTW agbero, taskforce, police, VIO, those new ones wearing green uniform (I don't know these ones. There are so many uniforms in Lagos) and still be completely sane.
Conductors and passengers fighting is a normal thing. One day I was returning from work and saw two fighting in the middle of the road, and what amazed me was they were sparring like professional boxers, complete with the boxer's stance and leg work. iKid you not. Conductor and passenger. It was the agberos, funny enough, who came to chase them from the road because they were constituting nuisance to other road users. The kid you described did not have any super powers. He was just acting like the typical Lagosian who has been conditioned to act out in the face of provocation. Eat or be eaten. Some of these conductors are very rude and nasty (I suspect it is their own defence mechanism) while some passengers on the other hand are idiots.
The trader in Computer Village was not 'threatening' you. They are simply aggressive marketers. If you don't aggressively market your products you won't make any sales because there a 1001 traders selling the same thing as you. The secret to walking successfully through the Village is rearranging your face to look like granite, avoiding eye contact with anyone and stubbornly ignoring 'threatening'' calls. They cannot hijack you from the road into their shop, abi! Develop military mind!
The same military mind my friend Sanchez01 took to Enugu when he went on a visit. He wanted to board a bus and used ishon (muscle) to run pell mell to where the bus was parked waiting for him. When he jumped in with the skill of a James Bond stuntsman, he met the driver and passengers staring at him strangely.
The driver asked him: "Oga, are you from Lagos?", to which he replied in the affirmative. The driver then remarked "No wonder. It is only Lagos people that behave like they are fighting with everyone." I can't believe you still remember the gist! It was an embarrassing moment, I won't lie. And your submission is spot on. Everyone is always angry in Lagos; too busy and always in a haste. A typical Lagosian will struggle for the first few months should they find themselves in a serene, quiet state. Lagos is a jungle, walahi! |

Primase: You can lie for Africa. No airline would carry only 2 passengers. They would rather cancel the flight.
Why you deh lie like this? 7 passengers, including myself, flew Air Peace from Lagos to Enugu that Wednesday evening. I mentioned morning in my earlier post. Never mentioned 2 and I don't understand where you got your 2 from. |

AmazingELixir:

Paddy man take it easy with him naa ....can't a brother joke with you in peace. Sincerely, some jokes are getting too expensive for social media. I am an Ajala by default and the hypes are reviews to me until it isn't when I'm confronted with stark realities. I lived in the state for 4 years and I knew how underdeveloped the state is. I lived in the local government where they have the only cinema, which came around just roughly two years ago. Before then, I would go to Owerri with friends, spend the night in a hotel just because we want to see movies. Yet, the following week, you will see Nairaland flooded with how Enugu is the most developed state in Nigeria. Unfortunately, these unnecessary PRs encourage governors to be lazy and not work because the necessary propaganda needed to loot is being peddled by those who feel our state must not be disgraced. It's insane. |

RichDad1: Keep deceiving yourself. Let it rival Kano and Kano first. Loud mouthed chest beater. I’ve been saying this for long, if Lagos or Abuja is an Indigenous Igbo cities, other tribes would have been made to kowtow before them.
Sincere apologies to all the level headed Igbo men and women. But not these condescending narcissists that filled the cyber space with their useless comments on a daily basis.
Well, I think they would have gotten used to the idea that they are super relevant and needed more than they need others. I think the mindset they have now is inferiority complex; the need to measure up to places and states they wish theirs were. It is a messed up sh¡tshow — the need to brag endlessly and measure strength with economic powerhouses when there is a slight fresh air. |

OfficialAwol: If not for the policy of "keep them down" that has been perpetrated by successive govt over the years against the Southeast, only Lagos and Abuja airport would be busier than Enugu airport.
In fact if international flight is allowed to flow, Enugu international airport will rival Lagos and Abuja. We all know Enugu is crazy dry when it comes to investment and business inflow and activities at the airport is insanely dry. Myself and 6 other persons were once the only passengers who flew from Lagos to Enugu one fine Wednesday morning. It is so funny that the plane looked like a BRT bus taking its last set of passengers to their respective bus stops. Port Harcourt is busier than Enugu could ever dream of. How you can conveniently claim Enugu, the same Enugu Airport that I know will rival Lagos Airport and Abuja Airport is unbelievable. When you all wants to take pictures of how beautiful Enugu is, you start and end with Rangers Avenue, the same Rangers that is joggable within 20 minutes. You leave out Gariki, Agbani Road, Enugu East, Nkanu West, etc in general because they are underdeveloped. Enough with the Enugu hype. The likes of Abuja, Lagos and Port Harcourt are light years ahead of the Akanu Ibiam 'International' Airport when it comes to activities. Include Akwa Ibom's and Aminu Kano. The Industrial Layout is dry as hell. Nothing happens there. The businesses that have managed to stay afloat over the years all look like they are at their last phase of fizzing. The Federal Government won't bring investments. If investors find Enugu worthy, I believe they will come in but no, you will hardly see any. It is not the fault of Gburugburu but the victim mentality again. It is too early in the year to beat one harmattan chest. |
