Hundreds of aggrieved members and supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ugya/Umaisha Constituency of Nasarawa state recently dumped the party.
The members led by Ibrahim Kareka dumped the governing party for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) during a rally held at the old Market Square, over failed campaign promises and alleged malpractices that marred its recent primary elections.
They burnt scores of brooms, which is the symbol of the governing party to demonstrate their exit.
Comprised of mostly youths and women, they were received into the mainstream opposition by the Chairman of PDP in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Hon. Yunusa Ohimegye.
The party's candidate for the Constituency in the 2023 general elections, Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Sa'ad (Turakin Opanda) among other Chieftains were in attendance.
The decampees vowed to work in one accord to deliver all candidates of the party in next year's general elections.
On Shettima, Bola Ahmed Tinubu made an excellent pick. I am one of his (Shettima‘s) biggest fans because of his quality works in Borno and for giving us a perfect leader in Zulum.
I also support Shettima‘s selection because my zone, NE, hasn‘t produced a democratically elected president. So I believe that 2023 is the perfect opportunity for it to happen.
I admire Tinubu for helping Buhari become President.
But while we appreciate him for considering us for the post of the Vice President, we‘ll humbly decline the offer as the presidency is what we want. Tinubu is from the SW, a zone that‘s produced a President and a Vice President.
2023 could be a one-in-a-million opportunity for us to produce the President of this great country.
Sacrificing our regional ambition on the altar of a personal ambition of one man whose region has produced both President and Vice is nothing but an unforgivable treachery. Arewa spirit in general and the spirit of Northeast in particular will never forgive us.
Bashir El-rufai, the Kaduna state governor's son who cannot spend a day without bashing Igbos on Twitter, has suddenly gone missing.
The obsessive tweep hasn't made, liked or retweeted anything in 22 hours, which coincides with the unveiling of Shettima as Tinubu's substantive running mate.
His absence has got tweeps wondering whether the El-Rufais are still licking their wounds offline after losing the VP slot to Shettima.
He said Muslims should collect everything tinubu is sharing or giving people - money, houses or wives - but no one should vote for him. That may God destroy the finger 'you're planning to use' on voting him. That they should stay away from him because he's not truthful. That their suffering is enough
After deceiving Northern APC Govs, Tinubu reportedly picks Shettima. ElRufai will be close to tears right now after his unending lobbying. So the Muslim-Muslim ticket thing is really happening? ♂️

Goes a long way to show you that haters will never learn that their hate for someone they don’t know will always introduce the person to their own circle.
The haters are making me notice him some more. The irony Not unless everyone in your circle is dumb, the ones wey get sense go see truth when them reason am by themselves.
Remember this. My friends from the north just informed me some Muslim clerics who are loyal to Atiku are seizing the opportunity to preach against PO.
I was told Muslims are not supposed to pray on a mat that has a person image on it. So these clerics are sending messages around that Peter Obi campaign is making mockery of the religion.
So please if you can reach out to whoever is involve, they should take out the picture. Labour party logo and his name is enough.
My life hasn't been the same since I read about Peter Obi's N250m money laundering scandal. Packing large sums of money into suitcases & sneaking them around is associated with crime. I can't imagine any next gen politician stooping that low. Soludo, NOI, etc would NEVER do that.
"Gov Obi stated that the money found in the vehicles belongs to Anambra State & was meant for payment to a contractors who wanted cash. When asked why he should pay such a huge amount of money in cash instead of draft or cheque, the Gov couldn't give a reasonable answer."Vanguard
"Nigeria: APGA Disowns Governor Obi Over N250 Million Scam The State chapter's chairman Dr. Okey Umeano, said in a statement yesterday in Abuja that Governor Peter Obi is on his own in the 250 million naira money laundering crisis rocking his government."
"While Peter Obi consistently fails to remember to pay our civil servants when due, he never fails to remember to cart away our security vote on the last day of every month. It was on the last day of last month that N250,000,000 was taken." Tony Agbo
On why he was cleared by the state assembly, Tony Agbo alleges: "Two evenings ago, Peter Obi gave the entire members of Anambra State House of Assembly N60 million as 'Democracy Day' gift."
It "affected my life" because it made me realize that the next president of Nigeria will be more corrupt than Buhari, and there is nothing anyone can do about it.
"The Police instructed one of the aides to the Gov to inform the Gov of their intention to inspect the vehicles. At this juncture, the Governor instructed his aides not to open the vehicles until he comes to Lagos." Why did he try to hide the money?
"That Sunday, at about 2.30 pm, both the Commissioner of Police & Governor Obi arrived the scene with their entourage & the Police Commissioner INSISTED that the vehicles MUST be thoroughly searched in the presence of everybody."
In light of several controversies trailing the supposed loss of Bola Tinubu’s credentials, his dummy running mate, Kabir Ibrahim Masari, has informed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) his school certificates were also missing.
A sworn affidavit for the loss of some original documents submitted to the electoral commission by Mr Masari and seen by Peoples Gazette, showed that the APC vice presidential candidate had misplaced vital documents including C of O of one plot KT 17522 in Katsina state, his Grade II certificate from Katsina Teachers College and his primary school certificate.
“That sometimes in January 2021, while on transit within Wuse Area, FCT-Abuja, I discovered that my original Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) of Plot, No KT 17522, GRA Katsina, Katsina State; Certificate of Kaduna State Development Centre from 1994 – 1995; Grade II Certificate from Katsina Teachers’ College (KTC) from 1978 – 1983 and First Leaving School Certificate issued by Masari Primary, Katsina State, from 1972 – 1978, got lost,” partly stated the affidavit sworn by Mr Masari at the Supreme Court in July 2021 and submitted to INEC on June 17, 2022.
“That all efforts made to trace the documents proved abortive hence this affidavit,” the affidavit added.
The electoral law mandates candidates to submit their personal credentials that will be published for public scrutiny ahead of elections.
Meanwhile, Mr Tinubu had on Saturday insinuated Mr Masari was only a dummy running mate after he admitted that he was still searching for a suitable vice presidential candidate.
His statement lent credence to claims that the submission of Mr Masari’s name to the electoral office was only a stopgap to circumvent the INEC deadline for the 2023 elections.
Mr Tinubu and Mr Masari being Muslims may offset the religious balance and representation known with the nation’s highest office.
In Luke 24:5-7, the angel said to the women who went to the tomb in search of Jesus, “Why do you seek the living One among the dead?”
For those looking for Bola Tinubu’s certificates, I ask, why do you seek from St. Paul’s School, Aroloya, Lagos, and Government College Ibadan, when you should be seeking them at Iragbiji?
It wasn’t intentional when Bola Tinubu left blank in his INEC forms the names of the primary and secondary schools he attended. No, I mean, it was intentional, but nothing was malicious about it. After all, Bola Tinubu is an honorable man.
Bola Tinubu really tried to find the certificates but could not find them. And when in doubt, the safest thing to do is back off. It is the first law of journalism. It doesn’t matter how many Bode Georges are telling him the schools he attended and the years. Once he would not find the certificates, he must desist from mentioning the schools.
What is the point of writing the names of the primary or secondary schools when you cannot find the certificates to back them up? What is the point unless Bola Tinubu wants inquisitive Nigerians to storm the schools to dig up abandoned toilets, manure pits, and headmaster’s offices in search of the certificates? Or in the case of one particular school destroyed during the Korean War, it could lead to curious Nigerians disturbing the dead by digging up burial grounds that are now on the premises. These nosy Nigerians would like to perform the DNA test of Tinubu’s deceased classmates to see if there will be a match.
Unknown to most Nigerians, Bola Tinubu launched four frantic searches in 2014 for Bola Tinubu’s certificates. The moment Buhari became the nominee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu knew it would be his turn next. And because he knew how Nigerians think, he knew when it became his turn, whether in 2019 or 2023, that Nigerians would expect him to present his certificates. He quickly set up four teams to search for them. That, I must say, is what an honorable man will do.
One team started to visit the tomb of unknown soldiers. He remembered that some unknown soldiers stormed his house when he was in exile in 1994 and ransacked it. Some of the things they took were his certificates. These unknown soldiers knew even then that his turn to be president was coming and they were determined to frustrate his destiny.
They were vicious. They did not just take his primary and secondary school certificates; they also took all the exercise books he used in school, including that perfectly ruled composition book; his awards, like his dancing championship award. The one that pained him most was his debating society competition certificate for five consecutive years across several schools in the Western Region.
He fondly remembered winning a particular debate for his school when he told a hall full of students and teachers in Ibadan that “a egg is a better asset than a wheelbarrow.” The applause he got was more thunderous than the one he received when he returned from Abuja after winning the APC’s presidential primaries. No be today honor start to follow Bola Tinubu around.
Another team of certificate finders headed by a protégée of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo got the job of searching through all the forms Bola Tinubu ever filled in his service in Lagos State. They started when he ran for the senate in 1992. This team made sure that Tokunbo Afikuyomi was reminded to memorize the story he told in 1999 when this certificate scandal first broke and shocked the new governor of Lagos State. They wanted him to remain consistent with his story no matter the pressure and inducement by enemies of progress.
They did not want the man to have a second thought and change his story. If there was a need to make the man comfortable, this team had the mandate to do whatever it took. If there was a need to make his memory disappear, the team was also well equipped. The same team was later deployed when the Alpha Beta scandal opened.
They were the most fortified team, with express access to Bourdillon Road’s vaults and the right to invoke force majeure. They did such a great job in both assignments that the team leader was given a juicy position in the current campaign for president as a reward. Even Jeffery Archer agrees that there is honor among thieves.
Another team was sent to America. They had with them an auto delete tool. They were the most methodical of all the teams. From Bola Tinubu’s first international passport to the ticket he used to leave Nigeria in 1969 (or is it 1971?), they went everywhere deleting and destroying what didn’t match what is currently on Wikipedia. Where there is a ‘she,’ they changed it to a ‘he,’ and where there is a height discrepancy, they adjusted it accordingly. They were so sophisticated that they penetrated the American embassy and ensured that the 1969 or 1972 visa application disappeared.
From there, they went to Chicago and did a fantastic job at Richard J. Daley College and Chicago State University. Even the FBI, when they looked at Bola Tinubu’s drug-related charges of the 1970s in Chicago and the rest of his FBI file, was very impressed at how this team combed everything. Bola Tinubu’s first driver’s license in America, the forms he filled at the first school he applied for, and the lease he signed at his first apartment were carefully scrutinized and sealed.
Those that they could not discard were legally sealed, never to see the light of the day for 100 years after the death of Bola Tinubu. It was so watertight that, even if Bola Tinubu wrote the institutions involved to waive his right to privacy, these forms and copies of documents he submitted would not be public until 100 years after his death.
In all their investigations, there was no sign of his birth certificate or primary and secondary school certificates. Nothing. The researchers who worked on James Bond’s movie, “Tomorrow Never Dies,” consulted this team out of respect for what they delivered for Bola Tinubu. That was when Tinubu’s reputation for honor got enshrined in the constitution of Lagos.
The final team is the one that started work in Iragbiji, Osun State, the place Bola Tinubu was actually born as Yekini Amanda Ogunlere. This team had a very simple mandate. Find all those old enough to remember when the Jagaban was a small boy running around in his underwear, dancing in the rain, and eating ewedu and amala without washing his hands. The instruction to this team was, “When you gather those who knew him, tell them the same thing Will Smith said to people who saw aliens in “Men In Black” before he used the neuralyzer, an electro bio-medical neural transmitting zero synapse repositioner, to wipe the minds of all who saw its flash.
The neuralyzer does so by isolating and editing the electronic impulses that control memories. This team deployed it across the old Oyo State and wiped out any memory of Yekini Amanda Ogunlere. They supplied all the victims with a new memory of one Bola Tinubu, born in Lagos State in the house of his alternate mother, Madam Tinubu, in whom he is well pleased.
At this point, there is no way to recover deleted files. There is no way to restore altered DNA. There is only one de-neuralyser that can reverse memories lost – and that is Professor Yemi Osinbajo. He was there in 1999 when the bodies were buried. Unfortunately, there is no hope that a man like Osinbajo, whose convoy as the Vice President is nothing compared to Bola Tinubu’s convoy as a presidential candidate, will try to unmask the man from Iragbiji. As they say, once beaten, twice shy.
The only thing that can stop Bola Tinubu from becoming the next president of Nigeria come 2023 is if Jack Bauer comes out of retirement and is given 24 hours to find any of Bola Tinubu’s certificates – birth or primary or secondary school certificates for there lies his original sin.
The other thing that could happen, though most unlikely, is if the God of Oyedepo, Adeboye, and Suleman, hears their prayers, touches Tinubu’s heart, and makes him confess his sins. But that will only happen if Tinubu wants to be free. And so far, it doesn’t look that way. As a man of honor, Bola Tinubu, is taking all his scams to the grave.
Why is Asiwaju Bola Ahmad Tinubu so determined to be president, even though there are better candidates with less baggage in his party? Is it just because of his presidential ambition, or also because he desperately needs the legal immunity that the position provides?
* Says Tinubu supported the massacre of northerners in Lagos...
Late prominent Kano-based Islamic preacher, Sheikh Jaafar Mahmud Adam, was one northerner who would never have supported the ambition of National Leader of the All Progressive Congress, Bola Tinubu, to be president of Nigeria.
During an explosive sermon before he was killed in 2007, Sheikh Adam had included Tinubu in his list of enemies of northern Muslims from the South West.
The APC leader had just declared his intention to run for president in 2023.
The cleric spoke about Tinubu while recounting how the outlawed Odua Peoples Congress (OPC) killed northerners residing in Lagos in early February 2002 during a 3-day violence.
Reports at the time said for three consecutive days OPC militia laid siege on the predominantly Hausa settlement at Idi-Araba and their trade posts at Lawanson, Itire and Onipanu areas of Lagos, killing and maiming any Hausa man, woman or child in sight, while also setting their houses and other properties worth millions of naira ablaze.
The violence led to the death of more than 50 people while over 200 sustained serious injuries.
Recounting the experience, Sheikh Adam said Tinubu, who was then governor of Lagos State, supported the alleged massacre of the northerners by refusing to stop the perpetrators. He also alleged that the APC chieftain was giving financial and logistic support to OPC at the time.
Delivering the sermon in Hausa, he said, “The governor of Lagos, Bola Tinubu, called for a peace treaty between the leaders of OPC, Hausa, Igbo, and the police.
“Everyone was present and signed the treaty except the OPC leader, who disagreed and refused to sign.
“The governor allowed him to go, and investigation showed that they were the sponsor of OPC with ammunition and fund.”
Others mentioned by the late Sheikh for various reasons include former President Olusegun Obasanjo, late Oyo State governor, Lam Adesina, late Afenifere leader, Abraham Adesanya and the late Bola Ige.
The highly revered Sheikh Adam was killed on April 13, 2007 by assassins who waited for him to finish the Muslim early Morning Prayer before shooting him dead.
The murder took place in the final days before the 2007 presidential elections, and many observers, including those at the U.S. embassy, thought that the murder was somehow related to the election.
Chairman of ‘The Osun Progressives,’ a faction in All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Lowo Adebiyi, on Sunday said no reconciliation yet between the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola and the state’s Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola.
The Osun Progressives, backed by Aregbesola during the last governorship primary of APC in the state, had supported ex-Secretary to the state government, Moshood Adeoti, against Oyetola, who eventually won the party’s ticket.
Initially, both men had denied being at loggerhead, but days before the primary election exposed deep-seated ill feelings between the duo.
However, pictures of Oyetola and Aregbesola locked in warm embrace had on Sunday surfaced on the social media with accompanying words suggesting that the two men had reconciled.
But when contacted for a reaction, Adebiyi said members of Ileri Oluwa, the campaign group of Oyetola were circulating the pictures.
He said no reconciliation yet between the two men.
“They are old pictures. Members of Ileri Oluwa group are behind it. Disregard them. If there will be reconciliation, it is not pictures that you will see first. The discussion will be held first. No discussion yet. Nothing happened. No reconciliation yet,” Adebiyi said.
The possession of the Permanent Voter Cards, PVC and active participation in the 2023 electons remain the most potent weapon for the teeming youth population to defend Nigeria’s democracy and salvage their own future in the country.
This was the view of some Nigerians during a PVC carnival in Kaduna to raise awareness on the need for youths to be more involved in the electoral process ahead of next year’s General elections.
The extension of voters’ registration by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has been commended and seen as an opportunity for more people to get their Permanent Voter Cards and participate in the 2023 general elections.
With statistics showing that youth population constitutes majority of the electorates, this event tagged ‘Atiku PVC carnival’ is to raise awareness for more youths participation in electoral process through collection of their PVCs.
Speakers at this Kaduna event say a new Nigeria is possible when there is a paradigm shift in the quality of the leadership which can only be achieved when the youths collectively resolve to be fully involved in the electoral process.
Given the socio economic and security challenges experience in Nigeria, these youths said it is time for their PVCs to work the talk.
These youths at this Kaduna PVC carnival said they are resolved to continue to create more awareness to enable all the youths across the country to take advantage of the two-month extension of voters registration by INEC to get their PVCs.
Seun: Isn't anyone smart enough to notice that I did not actually defend Tinubu as alleged? Pointing out that a title is misleading does not constitute a defence of Tinubu. People are running mad because of this election. I've tried my best to be patient with people and to reason with them, especially on Twitter, but they keep misbehaving.
I have gone through it. You're right. I have modified the title.
Gazettengr's title is actually different from the content, which you and others rightly pointed out.

Residents of Obeleagu Umana in the Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State have invoked their deities to rise up against any force or power that would hinder the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, from emerging as the winner of the 2023 general elections.
This is coming a few days after an Enugu Catholic priest and Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria (AMEN), Fr. Ejike Mbaka, came under fire for declaring that the former Governor of Anambra State could not be Nigerian president because he was “stingy man that cannot give people his money.”
Mbaka had also said that “If Igbos want a representative, it is not someone like Peter Obi,” because he is “cursed.”
But in a 5 minutes, 29 seconds video seen by SaharaReporters, the chief priest of Alusi Obeleagu Umana, Dr. Eze Fellow with four other elders of the community invoked the deities to go after anything that would stop Obi from winning the election.
Fellow who spoke mainly in Igbo language said he did not know Obi in person but what he was doing was a directive from the spirit of his gods, and therefore prayed to the deities to take over the federal government for the victory of Obi.
He said, “I, Dr. Eze Fellow 1 of Obeleagu and my cabinet members have gathered together today, the great Eke day to declare that it shall be well with all the Igbos.
“Our declaration today is for Peter Obi. We declare that Peter Obi will be our leader. He will be the president because Igbos do not love themselves.
“Our prayers today is that Igbos and the deities of Obeleagu should rise up, as we are in Ezeagu land today to declare that Peter Obi will embark on this journey and no power of man or woman will stop him. All the evil and wicked men will fail.
“I, Dr. Eze Fellow 1 of Obeleagu and the elders are in the land of Ezeagu today to declare that our prayers must work. We invite all the deities in our land to rise up in battle and bring back our rights.
“We do not know who Peter Obi is but what we are doing today is a spiritual thing. It is what my spirit told me to do that I am doing. The spirit of our deities, we call on you to rise up and go to the federal and get our rights. As we call on you physically is the way we call on you in the spirit.”
As reported by Sarki and liked by Columbus @Chude_, an aggressive Obi's supporter.
Peter Obi Stans are aggressive & sometimes insulting, but the fact they’re willing to use their hard earned money to sell PO is telling on how far they’re willing to go for the man. I’ve gotten DM’s from handles who are willin to sponsor his campaign in the north with their money
Northerners react...
Reacting, a Northerner, Yusuf, wrote, "Baba tell them to reach to me let us grab that money and vote for our choices. Let us do them shege mana."
Another tweep, Khalifa said, "Oga muci kudinsu kawai" meaning, "Oga, make we just chop their money".
Northern influencers have been having a field day, thanks to motivational speakers and Prophets who have somehow managed to convince Mr Obi that he could win the presidency.
