derecho: You people really think highly of yourselves. There is never a year when Soyinka's birthday goes unnoticed in the literary circle. For the fact that you think it went unnoticed shows that you are not a reader. Already this year, a competition is being proposed to count down to the professor's 90th birthday in July, this year. The ANA, and other literary bodies across Africa and the world don't fail to recognize the professor. On his birthday, the Official Nobel Prize page always acknowledge him as one of the finest writers in the English Language. The joke is on you. |

As regard party structure, just forget about it, pro wike supporters are in charge in APC and PDP and they will conduct congresses to Elect new party chairman in the state in the coming months, sometimes when i hear fubara speak, I laugh because he's in a big mess, he's just trying to talk tough to deceive gullible individuals. Streetinvestor2: Short answer: The outstanding shares (OS) are now 161,172,395,100 (6 new shares for every 1 of the existing 26,862,065,850 shares). Long answer: It started with the Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on February 12, where they reduced the share capital from the original N13,431,032,925 at a nominal value of 50 kobo per share to N537,241,317 at a nominal value of 2 kobo per share. Effectively, this reduced the share capital. Then, at the EGM on April 15, they approved a loan of $379.9 million from the major shareholder, AB InBev Nigeria Holdings BV (about 78% ownership), which was used to clear another previous loan from Citibank Abu Dhabi. The positive aspect is that this current loan is being converted to equity. AB InBev Nigeria Holdings BV will utilize it for their share of the rights issue. Some of my observations: There was a share capital reduction of approximately N10.2 billion. This money, in addition to the new additional share premium (N126 billion) from minority shareholders, can be utilized to either reduce debt or improve operations. Even though existing shareholders will maintain their share of the pie if they all participate in the rights issue, the share value has been diluted for new incoming shareholders. Both the 2023 and 2022 audited financials have the same issue: Administrative expenses and marketing and distribution expenses wipe out the gross profit. Additionally, there were N55 billion in exchange losses. Until they can improve efficiency, I don't foresee significant upward movement or profitability. This share devaluation will not help matters either. I dey talk my own as I see am, just like you. No sugar coating or partia 3 Likes |

Sometimes, it's so hard to respect some of these our so called elders and scholars. Sir Soyinka, Have yhu forgotten how yhu insulted a sitting president's wife and even called her name, which later became a national anthem in this same country? Sir, Have yhu Also forgotten how yhu lead a national protest in conjunction with this very sitting president and others, shutting down Nigeria for days? Please, who was the mastermind of all those happenings? Do yhu mean to say yhu were being banked rolled by someone somewhere then? Sir, what yhu failed to realise probably due to yhur old age is that, Nigerians are tired of bad leadership and they came out in the last election to support someone they believed would end bad leadership. They were ready to push aside anything and anyone who would stand on their way towards realising that mission. Anyone they insulted probably tried to stop their missions and has nothing to do with Obi and teams engineering anything. Sir, this same government yhu vehemently supported into power is now 1year already and Nigeria economy has nosedived. I expected yhu would atleast prove or even pretend yhu care about Nigerians and talk sense into the present government. Instead, yhu are here talking about Obi. That is so low and very despicable of yhu sir. And for yhur information sir, Peter Obi will contest because he has the constitutional right to do so and millions of Nigerians will still vote for him. Karma is indeed very real. 2 Likes

Obi said this was important to secure the party’s future. Ads by Ad.Plus During a solidarity visit to the party leadership at the National Headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday, Peter Obi stressed the necessity of safeguarding the party’s existence and encouraged unity among disgruntled party members. The former Governor of Anambra State stressed the need to prioritize the well-being of Nigerians and the nation over personal interests. Obi mentioned that he had visited the national secretariat to meet with the chairman and expressed his commitment to tirelessly work towards reconciling all conflicting factions, emphasizing the importance of unity for the party’s triumph. He emphasized that Nigeria’s obstacles primarily revolved around the development of human capital, encompassing areas such as food security, education, healthcare, and access to clean water. “For now, let us talk about how we are going to survive because we politicians always focus on the next election and not on human beings. “Let us focus on Nigeria, and see that Nigeria works, if Nigeria is working, the Labour party will work. If Nigeria fails, the Labour Party will fail,” Obi said. In his response, Julius Abure, the national chairman of the party, expressed gratitude for the visit of the party members and the presidential candidate. He emphasized the importance of unity among the different factions that had differing opinions about the Nnewi convention. Abure urged them to put aside their individual interests and focus on working together for the party’s success in the upcoming election season. He said, “I want to say this very clearly, the convention has come and gone; all those who are still angry with us over the Nnewi convention, we want to appeal to them to come together to work with us to build the party for a new Nigeria that has a vision. “I believe very strongly that personal interest should be put aside and pursue a new Nigeria that will work for all.” On his part, the Chairman of the Party, Federal Capital Territory Chapter, Peter Dugwu, said the chapter would work with the NWC and promised a successful working at the area councils’ elections. Meanwhile, Nollywood actor cum politician, Kenneth Okonkwo, has announced he is suspending his relationship with the Julius Abure-led National Working Committee of the Labour Party (LP). He argued that for him, a new Nigeria is a priority, and he prefers to lose doing the right thing than win doing the wrong thing. Okonkwo, who was the spokesperson for the Labour Party Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council in the 2023 election, in a post via his X account on Tuesday, said the current Abure-led National Working Committee of the Labour Party is another incompetent and corrupt association, just like the All Progressives Congress (APC) he left before. According to him, the national convention organized by Abure is nothing but criminality and corruption. ... reads: “I am suspending my relationship in all ramifications with the purported Abure-led National Working Committee of Labour Party. “For me, it’s either a new Nigeria or nothing. I prefer to lose doing the right thing to winning doing the wrong thing. “Nothing can wash out the criminality, corruption, and incompetence with which the purported National Convention was purportedly organised by Abure. “I did not leave the comfort of a ruling party APC because I believe that they are incompetent and dishonest only to come and join another incompetent and corrupt association, which is the current Abure-led National Working Committee of Labour Party.” WATCH NOW DOWNLOAD NOW breaking nigerian politics political news FacebookXWhatsAppLinkedIn You may also like ‘I’m Not So Familiar With Amokachi’ – Eagles Assistant Coach Benjamin James Says Why We Want Wike To Join APC – Tony Okocha Emirates Airlines Embarrassed Tinubu – Chidoka Senate Passes Bill To Revert To Old National Anthem Don’t blame only Tinubu for worsening insecurity in Northwest – PDP chieftain, Dingyadi Kano Governor Announces Sack Of Emirs, Gives 48 Hours To Vacate Palaces Anambra Pupil Beaten To Coma By Teacher Dies 2024 Most Valuable Clubs: Real Madrid Tops Other Seven Premier League Teams TRENDING Police nab suspected ritualist in Ogun, recover... ‘They Kidnapped Him’ – Soyinka Makes Surprising... what was done to sanusi wasnt right.i fear buhari, kwankwaso and the Fulani elite have falling for the trap.let us go back in history no throne in the north belong to the Fulani, the first throne they took was that of sokoto and that was by tricky, betrayal and cold blooded murder,of the king who housed them ,feed them and allowed there religion while giving them land.over the years the fulanis have continued in this same pattern to there host up until to 1940s when changes of leadership talk started[independence],then the fulanis began to intermarry to the Hausa and created the word hausa/fulani as if they are one, this was done because the Fulani are actually not plenty, the rely on there control over the Hausa, religion and the Hausa numeric strength to have there way,so they need the Hausa to like them and thus they achieved that up until the coming of buhari.buhari opened the eyes of not just the Hausa but the whole of Nigeria as to the nature of the Fulani. why the historical back ground, well kano belongs to the Hausa it has been ruled by the Fulani since danfodio killed the Hausa emir and installed his cousin a Fulani man, that matter has always been played down.when ganduja created the 5 emirate,he was only correcting history,3 emirate went to the hausa the rightful owners of the land and two went to Fulani including the kano emirate the most important which was left with the danfodio decendant.now kwankwaso has made a very foolish move to remove those Hausa emirates, first that would mark the end of his movement, next Abba should prepare to loss at the next election and finally, security agencies should be on stand by because the Hausa vs Fulani historical issue is about to come back and it would be 10times worse than bokoharam issue. 1 Like |

But you can only try, you cant stop pigs from rolling in the mud, the best you can do which you are already doing is never get in the mud with them. Never seen a group of humans as uncultured as these breed of dogs. Few days Tinubu the Jagaban was out of the country they already started spreading rumours of his death, some were already celebrating, if he had not returned when he did we would have been told he was cloned.... As a matter of fact one a few weeks ago was still going on and on about Buhari being a clone. He was showing people pictures of the ear. I asked him if he remembered that Buhari had an ear surgery around that time he said it was propaganda. If the truth doesnt fit into their story then its a propaganda.... I still thank God that we sane Nigerians voted for the right person. They loved Nigeria when they thought that boy was going to win. Today they pray everyday for Nigeria to fail. They call everu good news propaganda and dance to every bad news. The obidient movement is a demonic movement, you have to be possessed for you to celebrate bad news and hate good news.
