With the kind of hypocrisy that are filled in this thread, I'll be right to say Nigeria will never get better if all our young people think this way.

A Governor that failed to get re-elected, suddenly thought it wise to employ 12k people... why didn't he carry out the employment exercise all these years... oh! He wants to create problems for the incoming Governor, wicked people.

Worst are the hypocrites commenting otherwise here, when they actually know the truth. All evil you guys support, go later touch una one by one.
People that you even thought went to school reasoning like cows.
If Adeleke fails to pay these people because the money is not there, same i diots would come shouting he failed because he is owing several months.
Assuming he doesn't win election in 4 years time and employs another 20k before handing over, these same imps would start castigating him because he is not of their party.
Very annoying set of some brain challenged folks on nland.

Some of you are irredeemably dull one wonders how you were able to pass through school.
An outgoing governor on the last few days of his government employed thousands and installed monarchs.
Why didn't he do all that in the last 4 years of his government?
Or looking at it from another commonsensical angle, would oyetola have dared that if he was re-elected.
Politicians use your heads because they feel there are people out there that can't think for themselves.
Even if the dancing governor doesn't perform, but any person with a commonsense would have annulled all those emergency appointments because they were done without thought and process and definitely without considering the financial state of the government.
Politics › Re: Abuja Hospital Denies Harvesting Teenager's Kidney by seborrhic(op): 12:23pm On Nov 27, 2022
Regulating the social media maybe going to the extreme but if one has ever been at the wrong end of a false post on the social media, then you get to understand that the harm it causes is far greater than 100 blows death to the head.
It also is a lesson for hospitals like the one cited.Their rate of cutting corners in order to get that 1-5mllion for a single case is astounding.
They obviously neglected those other steps they should have taken or willingly knew all what the donor and recipient said or filled were false, yet hurriedly went ahead because they feared the client may decide to go to another hospital, making them to lose that money, to see if he could achieve the same aim.

For the hospital to say the young man wasn't financially induced shows they are not sincere .. You people weaponise poverty and use small money to make young kids make irreversible mistake...this is the same problem ekweremadu us facing in UK yet this useless doctor says he want to commence legal proceedings against the the young men
The Hospital knows, the brother knows, everyone knows that in Nigeria and other poor Nations, monetary inducement is always involved.
But because it's illegal to pay for it,they get both sides to swear to an affidavit while the money changes hands under the table. It's like abortion:everyoone knows it's illegal, but medical practitioners still do it and people still solicit for it.
The donor and/family too see it,unfortunately and naively as a way out of poverty or to make some money to fulfil some needs.
In this particular case,it's clear, like i accurately theorised, that the brother and family either didn't see the money promised or got information that they were shortpayed, hence his social media cry.
If they were not truly in the know during the whole process that may have taken several weeks,if not months,as soon as he knew he of the procedure taking place, he would have gone to the police to report.
But he chose the social media because that's where he feels and knows the most damage can be done to the hospital. He may have even blackmailed them and when they refused to play ball he rushed to the social media, also knowing doing a formal police report would implicate him and his brother donor.

Politics › Abuja Hospital Denies Harvesting Teenager's Kidney by seborrhic(op): 10:52am On Nov 27, 2022
The management of a popular Abuja health centre, Alliance Hospital, has denied harvesting the kidney of a teenager whose elder brother accused the hospital of alleged organ harvesting.

The hospital was reacting to the allegation by a yet-to-be-identified man in a viral video that the hospital allegedly harvested the organ of his younger brother.

The man who was seen in the viral video outside the hospital building claimed his younger brother is a minor that cannot consent to an organ donation.

According to him, “This hospital does not have any right to remove a 17-year-old kidney and sell it.

“I am taking this issue up and will report it immediately to human rights officials.”

But addressing journalists on Friday, Chief Consultant Surgeon and Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Otabor Christopher, who refused to disclose the name of the teenager said the kidney transplant was done with the teenager’s consent without any cohesion or intimidation.

He said the hospital will commence legal action against the “young man who posted the said video for defamation of character.”

According to him, contrary to claims, the donor was 18 years and two months at the time of the surgery, adding that he (donor) was not financially induced to donate his kidney.

Christopher disclosed that the patient (recipient) also deposed to an affidavit stating that the donor is his nephew, adding that the hospital proceeded with the surgery which turned out to be successful after a positive compatibility and surgery fitness test were carried out.

He said the hospital has carried out 64 kidney transplant surgeries with 97 per cent of the patients discharged home after a successful procedure.

Fear Nigerians.
They now believe the social media is the ultimate damager of reputations and blackmailing tool.
Once they are dissatisfied with something, feel they weren't paid well or simply out of spite feel they can destroy a business, institution or person, they rush to the social media and post or say anything because they know there are many imps and f ools out there that would believe and support anything they say or post without asking questions. They also feel no one can hold them accountable for their posts on the social media,no matter how false and damaging,so it's a free reign out there.
So the boy just went to a hospital, had his kidney harvested without the narrator being aware?
Or he thinks you can harvest someone's kidney without having had some hospital visits, prior tests, without making sure it's a match for the recipient. He thinks a kidney is something you collect and store till u see a buyer?
The brother narrating this may have been asked how much they were paid. When he mentioned something like 500k or 1million,his questioner screamed and told him he had on good authority that the recipient's family paid the hospital 20 or 30million for the kidney alone, asides the operation. That the hospital massively cheated them.Hence his crying to us now to give the impression he wasn't in the know from the get-go of what his brother was going to the hospital for and what he went in for the specific day the kidney was harvested.
Fear the average Nigerian.Saying this from knowledge of their nature

They probably using the stroke story to cover up something much more chronic and fatal.
With a stroke,no matter your recovery rate, you would still manifest some level of weakness if not outright paralysis of any of your limbs or a speech defect. This is a man with full use of his limbs and no obvious mouth or face distortion.
Severe, drastic weight loss is also not a classical symptom of stroke.
Though I am not saying it is,but without a fuller, more truthful information, from his appearance and forced bubbly nature,it looks like a man that has been diagnosed with a terminal illness, has accepted the terminal nature of his diagnosis and is doing all his best to live the remaining years of his life with as much fun as he can.
It could also be testicular cancer and the severe weight loss is coming from the disease and the aggressive nature of the treatment he has been receiving.

Once a coach pulls out a spectacular result in a world cup match he becomes a genius.
There is no doubt that Renaud is a decent coach, but throughout the history of the world cup, going back to the 70s,with morocco,ALGERIA 82,Cameroun,some asian nations, minnows have always pulled off shockers.I do respect renauld and feel he is the kind of coach nigeria needs, another westerhof that would take us places, but for anyone to use one match win to now automatically turn him to a genius,is not understanding the history and sheer spectacle that is football, especially tournament football, particularly the world cup, where the sheer preessure and expectation can make great footballing nations and players look pedestrian

By investment, I don't mean just money. Anyone can throw money at football...but passion, interest, enthusiasim cannot be bought.
By investment then you mean structure? Now tell how many european countries have more foottballing structure than China, yet china even finds it difficult to qualify and if they do,they, like their fellow developed asian neighbours like japan and south korea, always get walloped?

It is a good thing for Iran to lose.

The problem with many of them small countries...football is a function of what you put into it. If you are not putting in investment, investment, investment, you may qualify for the world cup, you may even reach quarter final...but you won't do well.

The thing is, Iran will go home and forget the lessons.

That goes for every other small country.
Rubbish. How many investments did croatia put before reaching the world cup final, despite being a small country of less than 10million?Did Ecuador put in more investment over the past 8 years than quatar?
Iran and most of these arab nations are just poor,it has nothing to do with size or investment, but the quality of players and management of those players

Very true.
He is relatively the best amongst the lot,but his childish penchant of responding to every event is too textbook like for me.
He should just be himself and stick to his policy statements.
His main selling point his his assumed honesty and being non corrupt.
He shouldn't spoil it by over talking, which has a tendency of making people make gaffes or even lie over certain issues, maybe unintentionally.
However,I doubt if this Gazette story is the true state of things.PG has a penchant, like SR of not being thorough in their investigations and even sometimes putting out false reports.
Another likely scenario is that Odili may have lied about his age because this PG report is solely based on the public records of when they were born and left school.

If Soludo looks back at that interview and official post he made,he would feel utterly embarassed and nauseated that he is the one that uttered and penned such rubbish.
It's like a child 4 years or less that throws a fit simply because the mum deprived him of his/her favourite toy.
I am not a deep fan of Obi because I think he sometimes doesn't have a full grasp of the issues and his solutions to some of Nigeria's teething problems are textbook stuff that may not work in our peculiar environment, but he seems comparatively better suited in terms of sincerity of purpose, absence of skeletons and vigour to get the job or setting pathway for the job to be done.
If you don't agree with him or his candidacy,as a leader, you should front your own candidate and give a general view that u don't feel other candidates are up to the task and won't win,not by specifically singly out one of the candidates and making a categorical statement about him not winning.

Maybe it's out of envy on the rise of Obi and the possibility of his own political stock rising.
Soludo should thread carefully because he is already creating enemies amongst the masses over his policies and politically with his untoward utterances against a single candidate.
He should be wise and steer clear of any personal attacks or categorical statements against any candidate and Obi in particular.
For all the vitriol and enmity Wike has shown against Atiku,he hasn't for once come out to state emphatically that he knows Atiku will not win the presidency.
Wisdom is earned and should be expected of people in positions of power, though many have shown they lack wisdom.
