any man who cannot afford a wedding no matter how small
is not ready to be a husband yet.
Thank you jare! This was my point before. If he can't do that, then what hope is there for the marriage? or his position as the man of the mansion? But I still believe the woman can chip in too. I just don't think he should open his mouth about wedding if he can't put his 'fair' share down at all!! grin
That story is not unique o
It's become very common
all those single Nigerian nurses are now going home with wedding gown in hand and marrying men and filing papers bringing them over here.
If you know any intimately, you'll feel sorry for the husbands.
Same with some who are not doing much and their wives become nurses and take on the role of a man
Many of them become babysitters while the woman works 3 jobs.
Maybe that's why when their demons double in number, they hack the women to death
Ive heard of cases like this tooo. But this is one of the reasons why a man shouldnt be discussing wedding plans if he no get the money to put down. If he hasn't got much they can do it within their budget. abi? Why must the wedding be soo elaborate?. lol  grin

Very sad state of affairs . . . one of the reasons i am determined to stay off weddings until my pockets are well padded. I wont stand in-law interference either in my wedding or marriage.
my point exactly. . . . if you both can contribute yourselves 50/50 then the plans and how you both want things are down to you, no one else. But seriously, which self respecting man would leave his fiance to foot the bill, only for her and her family to remember it later during the marriage.   grin

If a woman's sell by date is coming up, then is there much need for a big wedding if the man can't afford it. Go get married behind the rocks.  tongue
EventsRe: Ladies: Can You Sponsor Your Wedding? by Secretz(f): 11:15pm On Jun 14, 2009
Yes I could sponsor my own wedding, but whether I would is another thing entirely. Wouldn't bother getting married to him otherwise. What hope is there for the actual marriage if he can't contribute to the wedding itself? No guy better even discuss wedding plans with me, if he cannot even foot 50% of the bill. Mess off.  grin

FashionRe: Whats' The Difference Between Bleaching And Skin Toning? by Secretz(f): 7:38pm On Jun 14, 2009
I think bleaching is disgusting. Why black people wanna be white beats me! And then you get the oyinbo people who sit in the sun all day to look brown!  lipsrsealed

Although there is a difference between the both, I think Toning creams do have some of the chemicals as bleaching products but a small percentage! One of my friends has a friend who bleaches like no man's business, if you ever saw the state of her knuckles, knees and ankles, they are soooo black in comparisment to the rest of her body colour. She asked me to join her in her bleaching crusade.  lipsrsealed

Bleaching is sooo harsh to the skin that many of the VITAL/MAIN chemicals and Ingredients are actually banned in the UK.   undecided

I would rather stick to my 'Simple' Collection thanks.  grin

think very hard . . . perhaps she grew up in the time you both were apart. If you still have feelings for her i'd say give her a chance.
Not whilst he still has a girlfriend he shouldn't. . . . . .

Continue with your current relationship, abeg. . . . what will be will be. . . . if you and your current break up NATURALLY (not because of your ex) . . . . . then take things from there. . . . grin

If the girl has grown up at all, she would not be asking to be your second fiddle, no woman in her right mind wants such. She has probably been jilted and knew you were good to her, so she's more than trying her luck. grin

RomanceRe: I Hate It When Girls Wear Rings On Their Engagement Finger For No Reason by Secretz(f): 3:59pm On Jun 13, 2009
Well I got too many rings, enough to fit atleast 2 per finger. ( I am not MRS T-So I do not wear them all at once) tongue

I wear a ring on that finger, but not one that looks like an engagement ring or wedding band, just other types of rings that only fit on that one or look better on that finger. Any guy who get common sense will use his 2 eye to see it's not an engagement/wedding ring. Whoever is brave enough to replace it, then I will glady accept. kiss

Platinum diamond please. grin

Really? You want to talk exact science. Men have larger brains but women have more connectons within the brain. In other words men have bigger brains but women's brains work better .

As for the one that said that men are superior because they have joysticks and we have vagina's nothing to say except that I have never a seen a privates that has told a woman what to do but I have seen vagina's from the beginning of time (from Adam to David) that can tell a man when to eat, when to sleep and how to make critical decisions. Y'all need to get over it. There is no power bigger than the power of the vagina. Ask Adam and King David.

Me again? ? ? Sweety, have we met before? tongue

No we were not born with the position and status, . . . .neither were we born with a cigarette in our mouths! undecided

whether God created man and Made woman is besides the point, . . . . was it not from the man he created the woman? he took part of his rib right? So whatever a man wants, a woman should also want! Whatever a man can be, a woman CAN also be! If a woman is dumb, the dubmness was derived from the dumbness of the man! tongue tongue tongue grin
Nairaland GeneralRe: Why Are Men World Leaders? Are They More Intelligent Than Women? by Secretz(f): 2:06pm On Jun 12, 2009
I don't think men are more intelligent than women per se, yes they have a lot of control over the world and society because of their positions and status, but whether your intelligent or not has a lot more to do with what you need to be intelligent about.

Although there are many women who are up and coming in high positions etc, there are still a lot of companies who refuse to employ and promote women of child bearing age.  Making it  difficult for some to reach extremely high positions. It purely has nothing to do with intelligence. I also think that many men will feel threatened that women will 'appear' more intelligent too.

Yes I think it's better to have loved and lost . . . . for the simple fact that you gain sooo might experience and insight into relationships and the opposite sex when being in a relationship and afterwards.
My experiences both good and bad have come from my relationships with people, and thankfully to that, I now know what I do not want in a partner and what I do. I also know the kind of 'friends' I want (I use the term friends very loosely). I do no negotiate with my standards in people. grin

sistawoman:
It is well worth the risk of getting your heart broke.

I have to agree. I know alot of people who now haven't got a clue because of lack of experience. in their late thirties they are actually fearing, because they have never been there. (if that makes sense). undecided
