I don't think we should be telling you how to stop going for the wrong men.
Sorry.
Every woman on this thread has their own idea of mr right.

My right, your wrong. So the person to ask? Look in the mirror and you'll know who.
Thank you jare!!

That is why we all have our 'own standards', and when a man/woman fulfills your standards and/or requirements, it makes them 'right enough' for you. grin

davidylan:
No one is hostile to or prejudiced against gays. Infact many gays who are white ARE DISCRIMINATORY to blacks. "driving/shopping while black" is still a huge problem in the US . . . there is no such thing for gays. Infact its politically correct to be overly fawning of gays.

So what exactly does the term homophobia mean?
You know what David, I really think homophobia is a subjective/personal thing.

Most Gay people will tell you that you are homophobic simply for telling them you do not agree with their lifestyle and wouldn't be too happy if your kids turned out to be one.  undecided

IMO Being 'hateful' and 'intolerant' are two complete different actions.  What you do in your own home, with whom is your business. lipsrsealed
I don't think it is possible to hate gay people and tolerate them.
contempt is more synonymous hate not tolerance.

and no, you don't have to accept homosexuality. A lot of people (like you, I would assume) don't but they still respect homosexuals as human beings deserving of human rights.

huh huh  you did not answer my question.

is this person homophobic or not?

Are you speaking to me? Or you're just speaking from experience? feel free to share
I don't think I've ever conversed with you at any point in time before now.
That term is relatively ambiguous and is flung around too loosely . . . . . . . . that person simply can't stand GAYS. 'Phobia' normally refers to being 'afraid' or 'in fear' of something. . . . . .  don't think Sagamite and Tubabie are 'afraid' nor 'in fear' of them.  tongue

I work and get along with Gay people, not because they are GAY, but I like them as a person. I do not agree with their lifestyle, would not be best friends with one, would not accept any of my children to be one, but I am not homophobic.  undecided

Christianity EtcRe: Could It Really Be That A Person Can Be Born Gay? by Secretz(f): 7:41pm On Jun 07, 2009
@ Sagamite. . .

I need to clear 2 things up with you. . .

1. Are you confirming that you do not think people were born gay? (Please answer yes or no tongue )

2. Are you confirming you are homophobic (Please answer yes or no) tongue
Christianity EtcRe: Could It Really Be That A Person Can Be Born Gay? by Secretz(f): 7:22pm On Jun 07, 2009
Sagamite:
Yeah!

That is why there is legislation to prevent that and to protect them. tongue
We all know that those 'legislations' have been failing these kids. And what if the local authority urgently needed a temporary (foster) home for the children to stay in? And this home happend to be one of that that consisted of a gay couple? (the point of the gay couple being on the foster parent list in the first place is because they have had CRB clearance, their home is suitable, they have the time etc etc). What then? grin

Sagamite:
Bleep me! Where did you see that as my argument? Jeez. shocked

huh huh huh huh huh The argument is not which is better than the other.

This is the only point I can see a little bit of sense in.

But is it in the best interest of the child to put them in an unnatural set up?
A child in a home raised by a straight couple who abuses them, is not a natural set up either. grin
