@EBILA

what do you mean by she is not worth being with me. 'cos i am not ready to settle down or what. i was always there when she needed me but do u really think at that age, she shd be that desperate.
Exactly. But I really believe it's her parents who are desperate, not necessarily her. Since that's what they are going to be pressuring her to do, you might as well forget about it since it's not what you want. grin

This, my sister, you are very correct about. I even dated a guy in his 30's who's every move and decision in life was dictated by his parents, even his aunty. undecided
I doubt if any potential suitor will go "you are not good looking yet i want to date you" ,there are ways of telling someone to go to hell in such a way that he/she will look forward to the journey with keen interest;it is called diplomacy!

But let's even get hypothetical here and assume for one minute, this dude was this blunt. Will you rather have him OR a lying scum who will forget the face and concentrate on the base.? grin
Neither.  tongue

But I would rather the person tell me I'm not usually the type they would go for than to tell me 'You're not soo good looking'.   grin

RomanceRe: Would You Date Someone Who Doesn't Find You Goodlooking? by Secretz(f): 10:12pm On Jun 28, 2009
There's one thing not to find someone good looking and still date them, and there is another thing not to find someone good looking and have the boldness to actually tell them that and request a date in the same sentence. Talk about shattering someone's confidence. I wouldn't want to be reminded everytime we go for a cuddle or a kiss that hey, 'this my guy don't even find me attractive'. tongue

RomanceRe: What Can Be More Stupid Than This In A R/s? by Secretz(f): 8:32pm On Jun 28, 2009
This is a prime example of why 'parents are not always right'. Too right , they should be ashamed of themselves.
I'm sorry but at 19 , she should atleast 'some' independent thoughts, well atleast I know I did. As much as my mum can rant about me being 26 and no husband, she can NEVER make me do anything.

I feel sorry for the girl too, but just because she has been 'broken into' does not make her a 'woman'. That family for now, will be forever in her life until she stands her own ground. To make matters worse, you yourself are not even ready to settle down, leave her for them.
Really, her parents are the people you have an issue with.

FL Gators:
First of all, you shouldnt even be in a serious relationship if you dnt have a job.

2. How old are you? Maybe its your age that made the parent reconsider another marriagable man for her.

3. If her parent still insists on marriage, then you better leave the girl alone cuz you dnt sound like you're ready for marraige.

4. Don't expect her to say "NO" to her parents. No responsble girl would leaver her parent's house for a jobless young man. (NO offense intended) smiley its just that you're both too young.
I agree with you cos I certainly would not! lol, but should the girl at 19 be even thinking about marriage? Hence why her parents shouldn't have married her off in the first place. They should let her get on with her education and other important things. wink grin

RomanceRe: Must Every Woman Wear Something Fake To Look 'Beautiful'? by Secretz(f): 5:55pm On Jun 26, 2009
I suppose the fact that we use body lotion to soften the skin makes our skin fake too, right? undecided

There is certainly nothing wrong in using a bit of this and that, my problem is when things about a person looks obviously fake, allowing people to stop looking like 'themselves'. grin

Well. . . . apparently. . . . according to 'UK GOvernment Health officials' or whatever they call themselves. . . .

It's supposed to be 5 a day. . . . . (mixture of fruit and veg) . . . . whether it's from the tin, in the form of a juice . . . . . or however. Between main meals works best for me, and defo as part of a breakfast. grin

RomanceRe: Pre-nup:what's Your Take? by Secretz(f): 11:02am On Jun 25, 2009
TheSeeker:
Classic comment. You just said it, however, most women don't want to start building a home and career. They want a ready-made, ATM-like guy who they can strip off of some of their money in the name of a divorce.
In cases like this, I can never really blame a guy for introducing a pre-nup. It's not about trusting the person. Some people are very good pretenders and would bleed you dry in the end. I am not saying she should leave completely empty handed, but not half of his money and assets, especially not after just a few years of marriage. undecided
RomanceRe: Pre-nup:what's Your Take? by Secretz(f): 10:50am On Jun 25, 2009
Ha ha,

I had this convo with a friend recently too. lol
Personally, I don't initially agree with a pre-nup especially when you both come into the marriage with basically nothing. However, I think when people split, the amount of years they were married regardless of the reason for break up should play a role in who gets what and at what percentage. There is no way, I am marrying a man at 26, we both have equal amounts of qualifications and to high standards, but asset wise we have nothing. We build a home and career, he requests I stay at home for the sake of raising the children because he can afford to take care of us. We then die-vorce 30 years later and I leave with nothing because of some stupid pre-nuphuh?

I agree some women are VERY VERY greedy and take the pizz, especially after only being married for 4 years or so compared to those who were married for over 15 years and a built a life and success with that person?

I only agree with pre-nups if someone is extremely rich and has been bitten once before. In circumstances like this, its not a matter of not wanting to trust a person, but not being 100% sure what the person is really after. undecided

RomanceRe: Girls And Food : The Trap They Set For Guys by Secretz(f): 2:16pm On Jun 24, 2009
Anyone who asks anyone else on a date should be responsible for the consequences including a chic who over orders food!! It means, you never meet with her again or tell her point blank, she's greedy. lipsrsealed

A reasonable WOMAN, would not do this and/or be willing to go halves on the bill or pay for the movies after dinner. Simple.

grin
RomanceRe: Girls And Food : The Trap They Set For Guys by Secretz(f): 11:41am On Jun 24, 2009
Seriously, where does this kind of things happen?

If I'm going on a dinner date with someone, the last thing I want to do is order EVERYTHING on the menu. I can barely deal with a starter, let alone request a desert. . . . undecided

I don't know any women who do that either. But seriously. What's the big deal if she wants to EAT ? tongue
FamilyRe: Ladies: Can You Be A Housewife? by Secretz(f): 10:45am On Jun 23, 2009
lol, good thread!  wink

Ok, now I'm 50/50 on this matter. As far as I'm concerned there has to be a balance. I feel that I myself am well educated, I also have a lot of work experience and have been working too since 16. I am very ambitious and have many goals for the future . . . . ,
Now If my hubby either came into  a lot of money or got a real good job and ASKED me to be a housewife, I would agree, with some conditions:

1. I am able to start my own business (MY BUSINESS)
2. I work part time in my business (I would have managers, supervisors etc)
3. ^^^^ This would happen when the kids are at school, as it enables me to utilise my qualifications, skills and experience to achieve my goals.

If my husband could look after the whole family, pay all the bills etc, then let him (whilst he is doing this, I will be saving my own money  grin  ), why should I continue to work for someone else when I can have others working for me, whilst I look after my family and be  a business woman at the same time.

If my husband decides to mess off, would the business and all the profits not be mine? Ladies, think about it. . . .
There are 2 different types of housewives, there are those who are, because they have no choice (as in no qulifications, skills and experience to get a good job) and there are those who are the opposite of that. They use their brain to make the best of the situation.

Since I am a teacher (I work school hours, and get all HOLIDAYS off PAID!!), there isn't much need for me to be a housewife. I'm already set  tongue    tongue   tongue

Don't jealous me. . .   kiss
