equity1:To answer your question, see the highlighted statements below: equity1: |
equity1:But why is this person’s revelation of heaven different from the revelations given to other people? How do we determine which one is true? |
It's the most lucrative passage in the bible. |
The above bible passage was written to address ‘scoffers’ who were mocking Christians at the time that it was written. It was not a prophecy. |
It contains a chemical called gossypol which interferes with sperm production. If you’re trying to make a baby, you should probably avoid okro stew. |
There are many versions of this song: Version 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8Y0UZD7tzw Version 2 It's not by works of righteousness; But by His Grace alone. It's not by works of righteousness; But by His Grace alone. It's not by works of righteousness; But by His Grace alone. And we are complete in Him. CHORUS Complete, complete, complete in Him. We are complete in Him. Complete, complete, complete in Him. We are complete in Him. There's nothing more that I can do for Jesus paid it all .... The fullness of the Godhead bodily dwelleth in my Lord .... There's now no condemnation to them who are in Christ .... Version 3 The fulness of the godhead bodily dwelleth in my Lord (x3) So we are complete in him. (We are totally covered) Complete, complete, complete in him We are complete in him Complete, complete, complete in him We are complete in him |

Summary: Man finds worthless garbage in the bush. |
This is one of the issues with religion. It creates imaginary problems. Here is a single person with a healthy sex drive, who feels guilty because he does what a large percentage of single people with healthy sex drives do. He hasn't harmed anybody, yet he's acting as if he killed someone. |

Yes. You should also look into non-lethal weapons like pepper spray and tasers because killing people is not the only way to protect yourself. |
PhenomenalMorgan:Yea, you lost me at "God". Who is God? (from your perspective) |
PastorDavidAwuj:Salvation from what, exactly? |
How large is the farm? For a small farm (or garden), smashing them one by one every night until they are all dead is surprisingly effective. akinsmail51:Nice idea. You've said it all. |
Oga Originakalokalo, the above seem to be just stories. What makes you believe that they actually happened in the real world? |
Don’t cut the tails. It is illegal in most civilized countries except the USA. It’s unecessary and cruel. |
What’s the name of the woman in this true life story? What church did she attend when it happened? |
Congrats!!! |
Daddy Freeze is absolutely right that the original name of Jesus is 'Yeshua' or 'Joshua'. The 'controversy' here is about whether or not the translated versions of this name in other languages, such as Ιησούς (Greek), Jesus (English), Jesu(Yoruba), Jizọs(Igbo), Yesu(Hausa), and Isa(Arabic) are as potent against demons, and for causing prayers to be instantly answered, as his original Jewish name, 'Yeshua' or 'Joshua'. One could argue that there is no magic in any of the names: they've all been used against ISIS and Boko Haram and none of them worked. |
urahara:Agreed. Though this was just recently discovered. What is Benin kingdom compared to when 2000 years ago , Romans where building colloseums when blacks where still struggling to use rafia nad mud to build mud houses.I'll abandon this line of argument and go back to the point that only Canaan was cursed in the passage that inspired this thread. The purpose of the story of Canaan being cursed was to justify the ethnic cleansing of the land of Canaan by the Israelites. Biblical authors view Ham's son Kush as the ancestor of black Africans and he was not cursed. So there is no biblical basis for the notion that blacks are cursed. If you believe that black people are cursed, how do you explain Obama, Serena Williams, Michael Jordan, Dangote, Oprah Winfrey, Beyonce? |
urahara:Hmm. How about Egypt and the Benin kingdom? |
The early Christians started the practice, most likely because it was the day that Jesus was said to have risen from the dead. The Lord's day. |
JESUSBOIY:These days it is mostly it's to back up my points when I engage in discussions about religion. A good understanding of the bible is very useful. |
Why would the devil be intimidated by physical copies of the Bible? It's just a book; created in the printing press like any other book. |
I like NIV because of the notes that tell us which verses are not so clear in meaning or have different versions in the original manuscripts. I like NASB too because it’s more literal, but unlike the KJV it is a modern translation based on the best available manuscripts that we have. I think the KJV is a very inaccurate version of the bible because the creators didn’t have the resources available to modern translators. |
HigherEd:Yes, for example, Numbers 21:8-9 below :- The Lord said to Moses, “Make a snake and put it up on a pole; anyone who is bitten can look at it and live.” So Moses made a bronze snake and put it up on a pole. Then when anyone was bitten by a snake and looked at the bronze snake, they lived. ![]() |
Your prayers don’t have to be long and repetitive. Just say whatever is on your mind, wrap it up, and get back to your productive life. “And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.” Matthew 6:7-8. The Lord’s Prayer, given by Jesus, is less than 1 minute long. |
Originakalokalo:Apologies for being lazy. Yes, it was an altar, and there is no explicit mention of a statue. So some of the Athenians were worshipping an unknown God and Paul incorporated the unknown God into his gospel message, implying that the unknown God they were worshiping was the same as the God of Christianity. This made it easier for them to accept the gospel. Is that a fair interpretation? You also said that the ANCIENT JEWS borrowed some polytheistic belief before they become monotheistic..Another lazy mistake, which I apologize for. What I meant to imply is that the ancestors of the Jews (Hebrews and/or Israelites) were polytheistic, and elements of their beliefs were incorporated into Judaism. Is this something that we can agree on? If you look at deliverance ministries in Nigeria, they have incorporated traditional beliefs about “marine spirits”, “spiritual spouses”, etc into their flavor of the gospel. This happens all the time in religion. lastly, The muslims and the Christians serve the same God... That is a lie.Agreed. That’s not what I was trying to say. It didn’t come out right. By the way, Yahweh is more similar to Allah than to the Christian God. Yahweh is one. Allah is one. The Christian God is 3. The Muslims probably got the idea of the one God from Jews. Religions have always borrowed popular ideas from each other and continue to do so. Where do you think the Christian practice of speaking in tongues came from? Certainly not Jesus, who said “do not babble like the pagans” |
It is unremarkable that the Muslim religion borrowed some elements of the Arab polytheistic beliefs that preceded it. Many religion have done this in order to be more marketable. In Acts 17, Apostle Paul claimed that an “unknown god” that some Athenians were worshipping Here in Nigeria, Yoruba Christians say that the God of the Bible is the same as Olorun and Oludumare in Yoruba mythology (even though they reject the stories told about them in the myths). This makes the transition from paganism to Christianity smoother for Yoruba traditionalists. Even the Jewish Bible, the Old Testament, borrows some elements of the polytheistic beliefs that So let’s free the Muslims. If we accept that Jews and Christians worship the one true God who (allegedly) created and controls everything that exists, we should not find it difficult to accept that Muslims worship that same God. Whether that God actually exists is a different matter. |
You can command a husband and wife to be kind, respectful, and seductive to each other, but you can’t command them to love. People can’t control their emotions, but they can control their actions. The Bible should be updated to reflect this understanding. |
