I am sorry to inform you that you are a victim of emotional abuse. That wicked woman deserves to be reprimanded for taking advantage of your vulnerable state. Your symptoms - depression, psychosis (hearing voices), and constant sleep disturbances in form of nightmares - are health problems that can be treated medically. |
capitalzero:Can you list some of the lies apostates have told about Jehovah’s witnesses? Then we can investigate them to figure out whether they are actually lies. |
Pls post a link to the post in question. |
Unlike dogs, cats are obligate carnivores. They cannot survive without meat because they require some essential amino acids that are only found in meat. Last time I checked, Shawa fish was the cheapest source of meat that is readily available, so go for that. Cats don’t eat much, anyway. They also eat bread and milk. And eggs. But fish is probably the best; in fact, all the commercial cat food at Shoprite is based on fish. |
Codedrock:Yes, an agnostic atheist. Very few atheists are gnostic. We understand that absolute certainty isn’t really rational. |
Why would fallen angels be called sons of God? If that was the intended meaning, why did God inspire the writer to choose such a misleading and confusing term? |
johnydon22:Yep. |
Rilwayne001:I don’t hold a belief that God doesn’t exist. I merely reject the claims of God's existence. When a judge finds a defendant not guilty, it doesn’t mean he's innocent. It means the prosecution hasn’t provided enough evidence to prove the defendant's guilt beyond any reasonable doubt. I cannot rule out the existence of a God who doesn’t interfere in our affairs and is hiding from us because he wants us to leave him alone. But I won’t hold a belief in the existence of even that God until someone finds a way to lure him out of hiding and prove his existence to us. |
Akiintom:So agnostics don’t ask for evidence of claims? And atheists don’t doubt claims? |
Humchi:1. My soul will be in the same place that your soul will be if a different religion from the one you follow turns out to be the true religion. 2. People have been trying to prove Gods existence for thousands of years without any success. Success in the next 2 years is very unlikely. |
Dalam0n:Funny enough, they literally sell anointing oil. |
Kayharry:It is better for them to feel betrayed in the future than for him to be betrayed right now. |
raptex:You need to hide it until you have completed your education and you’ve gotten a good job and your own apartment. Then you can invite your parents to your apartment and tell them. Deception is highly recommended in order to avoid a very painful and difficult life. |
rekinomtla:So basically, God is not a person but a group of people. Like how the soccer players on a pitch can be 11 people but just one team? This means that every interaction “with God” is actually an interaction with one of the 3 people that make up “Team God”? If so, why did God pretend to be a single person rather than a team of persons throughout the Old Testament and most of the New Testament? If the trinity is so fundamental to the nature of God, why is it not clearly explained in any of the 66 books that God allegedly inspired? |
rekinomtla:How do you reconcile your view with the passages below? “Hear, O Israel! Yahweh is our God, Yahweh is one!” Deuteronomy 4:4. “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.‘“ Mark 12:29. Have you heard about the “heresy” of Tritheism? |
It's a nifty concept that allows us to treat Jesus and God as the same person or as different people depending on which is more convenient. When worshipping or praying to Jesus, it's not idolatry because Jesus is God. God's oneness, as declared in the Old Testament isn't violated. OTOH, when Jesus cries "my God, my God why have you forsaken me?", it makes perfect sense because Jesus and God are different people. "I and the Father are one" - the same person. "My father is greater than I" - different people. "Before Abraham was, I am" - the same person. "Nobody knows the day or the hour, not even the son, only the Father knows" - different people. |
gthorpe123:What do you feed the larvae with? |
enilove:The writers were were ancient people. They lived in a time of dictatorship, slavery, superstition and brutality. The God they created was limited by their worldview. They imagined God as a man who answered to no one, demanded absolute obedience and constant praise, inflicted brutal tortures on those who dared to oppose him and their families, and condoned slavery, because that was the kind of rulership that they were used to. A modern God would be more like Obama or Trudeau. There would be elections in heaven but he would always win without cheating. |
enilove:Even if he believed in the existence of a creator, his creator would be far superior to the creator character presented in the book of Genesis. |
davedayo:No, but can you see that there is a difference between what I said and what you implied that I said? |
Clearly your extensive knowledge of marine spirits didn't come from the bible. Where did it come from? Are you an ex-marine spirit? If so, why do marine spirits live in water when most of the people they want to oppress live on land? Won't it be better for them to live among us, on land? |
The sons of God in the passage are literally sons of God. It’s not a reference to human males. The story was composed before Jews became monotheistic. So God had sons who were lesser gods (like Wonder Woman and Ogun). Those lesser gods could impregnate women, and when they did, their children were giants. Simple. |
Buking1:I fully support your anti-racist message! If your Bible story can make people improve their behaviour, that’s great. However, I wonder why the story (Numbers 12) says that only Miriam was cursed with leprosy for 7 days even though both Aaron and Miriam spoke against Moses. Is it because Miriam being a woman made her criticism of Moses more offensive in the eyes of Israel’s male God? |
Davedayo, can you post a link to where I mentioned the question you want me to answer? |
How about now? |
capitalzero:1. Please be more specific. Did God dictate the five books to Moses, just like the Quran? 2. What makes you believe that Moses had the power to write accurately about things that happened before he was born? 2. Yes, he wrote most parts of it. just like a book can be credited to an author even after his death, though he has not completed the book.3. Do you believe that the alterations made to Deuteronomy after Moses died were also divinely inspired, even though we don’t know the people who made them. If so, what is the basis for this belief? 4. Would you agree that the other books Moses allegedly wrote, such as Genesis, may have been edited by other people after he died? How can we distinguish between the passages that Moses wrote ‘through supernatural means’ and the ones that were added later or altered by unknown people? |
JMAN05:Isn’t that because they know all your dirty secrets, such as the numerous false prophecies of the Watchtower Society? |
Excessive fasting followed by aggressive praise worship can cause people to faint. Lack of proper first aid, with people praying over the victim instead of getting her to a doctor, can lead to death. Just speculating. ![]() |
Kenneth4u205:You think that demons are responsible for our enjoyment of sex? What a sad day for biology teachers. When your female cat is in heat and all the male cats in the neighborhood converge on your compound, is that demonic too? Perhaps we owe demons a great debt for making us enjoy doing what we need to do for the survival of our species. |
The fear of interacting with people who don’t share your views is a sign that you don’t have sufficient evidence for your beliefs. You won’t see evolutionary biologists warning each other to stay away from creationists, or atheists who are scared that they may fall into Christianity if they talk to Christians. |
RexEmmyGee:Q1: The book of Genesis contains stories that were said to have taken place centuries before Moses was supposed to have been born. How did Moses get this information? Were the words of the book dictated to him by God? Q2: The same people who said Genesis was written by Moses also said Deuteronomy was written by Moses, but chapter 34 talks about things that happened after he died. What is your explanation for this? Without an open mind and willingness to surrender to the supremacy of God, there are things that will forever be a mystery. You cannot understand them using your knowledge it will only lead to confusion. If you have never opened your mind and surrendered to the supremacy of other Gods, such as Allah, what gives you the right to ask anybody to do the same for your God? |
