Unlike dogs, cats are obligate carnivores. They cannot survive without meat because they require some essential amino acids that are only found in meat. Last time I checked, Shawa fish was the cheapest source of meat that is readily available, so go for that. Cats don’t eat much, anyway. They also eat bread and milk. And eggs. But fish is probably the best; in fact, all the commercial cat food at Shoprite is based on fish.

I don’t hold a belief that God doesn’t exist. I merely reject the claims of God's existence. When a judge finds a defendant not guilty, it doesn’t mean he's innocent. It means the prosecution hasn’t provided enough evidence to prove the defendant's guilt beyond any reasonable doubt. I cannot rule out the existence of a God who doesn’t interfere in our affairs and is hiding from us because he wants us to leave him alone. But I won’t hold a belief in the existence of even that God until someone finds a way to lure him out of hiding and prove his existence to us.

So basically, God is not a person but a group of people. Like how the soccer players on a pitch can be 11 people but just one team? This means that every interaction “with God” is actually an interaction with one of the 3 people that make up “Team God”?

If so, why did God pretend to be a single person rather than a team of persons throughout the Old Testament and most of the New Testament? If the trinity is so fundamental to the nature of God, why is it not clearly explained in any of the 66 books that God allegedly inspired?

Have you heard about the “heresy” of Tritheism?

It's a nifty concept that allows us to treat Jesus and God as the same person or as different people depending on which is more convenient.

When worshipping or praying to Jesus, it's not idolatry because Jesus is God. God's oneness, as declared in the Old Testament isn't violated.

OTOH, when Jesus cries "my God, my God why have you forsaken me?", it makes perfect sense because Jesus and God are different people.

"I and the Father are one" - the same person.
"My father is greater than I" - different people.
"Before Abraham was, I am" - the same person.
"Nobody knows the day or the hour, not even the son, only the Father knows" - different people.

The writers were were ancient people. They lived in a time of dictatorship, slavery, superstition and brutality. The God they created was limited by their worldview. They imagined God as a man who answered to no one, demanded absolute obedience and constant praise, inflicted brutal tortures on those who dared to oppose him and their families, and condoned slavery, because that was the kind of rulership that they were used to. A modern God would be more like Obama or Trudeau. There would be elections in heaven but he would always win without cheating.

The sons of God in the passage are literally sons of God. It’s not a reference to human males. The story was composed before Jews became monotheistic. So God had sons who were lesser gods (like Wonder Woman and Ogun). Those lesser gods could impregnate women, and when they did, their children were giants. Simple.

However, I wonder why the story (Numbers 12) says that only Miriam was cursed with leprosy for 7 days even though both Aaron and Miriam spoke against Moses. Is it because Miriam being a woman made her criticism of Moses more offensive in the eyes of Israel’s male God?
