TeekayAkin: Angry? LOLI see .... you are not really concerned for us Xtians Carest thou not that we thy brethren perhaps perish? . I didn't laugh at your posts, rather I was actually concerned about you and your vociferous and unprovoked posts, as also posted in other threads. I wondered what was the matter with you (specifically) and enquired of God. I was led to the passage below:Isaiah 30:8-18 New International Version (NIV) 8 Go now, write it on a tablet for them, inscribe it on a scroll, that for the days to come it may be an everlasting witness. 9 For these are rebellious people, deceitful children, children unwilling to listen to the Lord’s instruction. 10 They say to the seers, “See no more visions!” and to the prophets, “Give us no more visions of what is right! Tell us pleasant things, prophesy illusions. 11 Leave this way, get off this path, and stop confronting us with the Holy One of Israel!” 12 Therefore this is what the Holy One of Israel says: “Because you have rejected this message, relied on oppression and depended on deceit, 13 this sin will become for you like a high wall, cracked and bulging, that collapses suddenly, in an instant. 14 It will break in pieces like pottery, shattered so mercilessly that among its pieces not a fragment will be found for taking coals from a hearth or scooping water out of a cistern.” 15 This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it. 16 You said, ‘No, we will flee on horses.’ Therefore you will flee! You said, ‘We will ride off on swift horses.’ Therefore your pursuers will be swift! 17 A thousand will flee at the threat of one; at the threat of five you will all flee away, till you are left like a flagstaff on a mountaintop, like a banner on a hill.” 18 Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him! God exists and he loves you! Don't shut him out of your life, and don't rebel against him. He wants to bless this generation through you. If you have proof (or reasons that make you think) that God does not exist, please, discuss in a POLITE manner. Come, let us reason together .... and I (and others) will politely explain to you why I know he exists. Not that there are not loads of threads/post already on NL dealing with the matter. As for your concern that God did not give copies of his word to everyone, I have a link for online Bible passages for you: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Isaiah%2030:%208-18&version=NIV . You can also download Bible Apps on your phone. God already promised that his word would be shared with all nations and it is happening. His word is being taken everywhere. Technological advancement is making it happen. You don't need to have a paper copy ... and if and when hard copies/ electronic copies cease, we will have the Holy Spirit to remind us of his word. |
temilolaoluwa: In my dream, i was looking for church to sleep for the night. I saw a big church and entered into it. As i was preparing to rest and get some sleep, i noticed that the atmosphere was strange, but i ignored it. I went to the backyard to get some fresh air, but what i saw was astonishing. The church was breeding vultures. There were hundreds of them. Now i know why i felt strange, the presence of God was not there. I left there immediately. I went to so mamy churches, but none of them had the presence of God in it. While searching, i was praying to God at the same time. I later saw a small house, where 'passion of christ' was written on it. When i entered it, i felt at ease and was almost crying. At last i found a church were the presence of God is. When woke up i realised that these days, the only churches you find are business churches. Its hard to find a church that is filled with God's presense. The churches of today are breeding vultures indeed! Just take one look at the state of our nation today. Church-goers abound but only few truly love the Lord. |
@ TeekayAkin: Why are so angry about Xtians believing in this God you are convinced does not exist? Surely, you must be able to come up with a better way to help us to understand your 'religion' rather than opening inflammatory threads all over NL. If you have something better than this Jesus that we have tasted and testify that of his goodness, preach it without insulting others. I am a christian and I am not at all angry that you beleive in 'no god'! Na by force to join your religion? You need to calm down and take things easy o! You have a problem with the fact that the God we see, feel and know in our lives does not exist, then prove it so we can change our minds! |

Thanks, Thanks, I give you thanks, For all you have done I am so blessed, my Soul has found rest Oh God, I give you thanks. |
You are worthy to be praised You are worthy to be praised My redeemer, you are worthy to be praised. |
At those screaming 'karma','abortions', etc: How many abortions did Elizabeth the wife of Zachariah have? How many abortions did Sarah have? A man betrayed his wife and you are blaming the wife! What about men who are infertile? Have they had 'abortions' or too much se.....x too? Ra....ped too many women? Why do people see black and say it is white? All the man had to do was 'zip up' for any woman outside his marriage! If the man had any remorse, he would not bring that pregnant girl into the home his wife built together with him. @ poster, I dunno how much of a Xtian you are but pray about how God wants you to deal with this matter. Cry out to God! I would ask my husband to go get a place for his woman to stay o! You do need to be careful too considering in-laws involvement in this matter o. God comfort and strengthen you, dear! May God give you double compensation for the betrayal, hurt and humiliation you are suffering! Be prayerful! |
Thank you, Lord For loving me Thank you, Lord For loving me Thank you Jesus Thank you Jesus Thank you Lord, For loving me! I owe you my everything. I bless your name. I honour you. I adore you. You are the reason why I am still standing today. I thank for your Joy in the midst of adversity. If the Lord had not been for me when adversity rose against me, I would have been swallowed up(Ps 124: 2-3). I am giving you praise because your hand has been with me. I thank you because in spite of all, I still have joy. Your love and mercy surrounds me and I see it. I give you all the praise because I am blessed to have you as my father. Be thou exalted, Father, in Jesus name. |
Father, I bless your name. I thank you for your faithfulness, your mercies and your blessing. I thank you for your joy of salvation that the world cannot take away from me. Be thou exalted, Oh Lord! |

The job should usually go to the second best candidate whom you beat to the position. If your brother had taken part in the screening exercise and he was the second best candidate, then yes, it would be right and fair that he gets the job. I don't know what your employers would think of you if you recommend that your brother take your place o but it would very likely strip you of any integrity, professionalism and sense they thought you had! |
The answer to the question of whether Masturbation is a sin or not lies 1 Corinthians Chapter 7! Read it in the Spirit and with understanding! |
Great idea, Sagamite! How dare they take government property away? ![]() |
Nigeria could do with a strong woman! I would vote for a female governorship/presidential candidate if a good one came up. We have for too long had men who are 'failures' at the helm of affairs! They ruined this country! |
Waiting to decide and agree on topics will slow us down a lot, and besides there are topics upon topics all over the religious section. I still think the way to go with is the Book by Book/ Chapter by Chapter/ Verse by Verse. I only think we should not restrict ourselves to One Chapter a week as some chapters are quite short and that would mean ONLY 52 Chapters in ONE YEAR! That said, Goshen, What does the Holy Spirit say about how to conduct the study? He must have put it in your spirit to do it in the first place! |
It seems you had the dream because you had the matter on your mind as you say you were 'rooting' for the person. Jo is right. Not every dream is a revelation, and not every dream has a meaning. It is possible to have revelation in dreams and you have to pray to prevent the event from happening/pray that it happens/praise that it has happened in the spiritual and will manifest in the physical. |
Thank you, Lord, for everything! I am grateful for your love, mercies, protection and guidance! Hosannah! Blessed be the name of the Lord! |

Does one get 'fast-tracked' to heaven when one dies in a house of worship? ![]() |
I'll buy! |
@ topic No! You present your guest with what you have and your guest accepts it with love and thanks! A guest who turns up his nose at a host's hospitality is ungrateful! |
I can understand him calling you a special name but he doesn't have to make you officially change your name unless you are really happy to do it. Perhaps you would suggest that you both change your first names on the same day! Label him OKORO DONATUS AKINAPAWPAW in return, to 'assist' him in backing down on his 'unusual' request, or chose something you'd be able to live with! Some men sha! |
I vote for Book by Book (Chapter by chapter, Verse by verse)! That way, no verse would be left untouched, and we would have the chance to look at EVERY single verse! Good work, goshen! |
@ topic NONE! |
