Logicboy03:No need to type big. You can still be read! Answer to your question in bold: The law moved away from Christianity because the majority did not wish to be led by Christ. They want to be led by their logic and desires. Like I have said before, de-christianisation is not peculiar to Britain. Those responsible for the plight of the Nigerian nation are not led by Christ but by their logic and desire too. The main difference between the two countries is the degree of transparency and accountability to the electorate. One country has more church-goers than the other but both countries really are not led by Christ-minded governments! In both governments, many of the leaders attend church or practise one religion or the other. |
1) LOL! you know that is not true!! Every society that moved forward had people that dared challenge the local beliefs 2) granted, I can give you this point but you have to realise that He only had 33 years to be here and really had no chance to "change" The same cannot be said about his daddy big boss ywhw ![]() 3) You are obviously missing his point. The British brought their religion they believed so much in to us and forced us to ditch ours and call it pagan. Now the same people have pretty much dropped what they brought to us. Doest that make you think? We have not decriminalised homosexuality because we have a bunch of largely ill-educated leaders that know nothing about the science of homosexuality. A fair analogy will be to make Autism a criminal offence when one cant chose the way he/she is born. "People are just born gay, get over it"(first bus lol) 4)When everyone opens up their eyes to the fact that we are here for each other and we are all responsible for our action rather than blaming an invincible demon(satan) for everything then we can actually be better people and thus build a better society for ourselves.
Christianity is not 'The British Religion'! On your homos.exu.al/autism analogy, an autistic person does not choose to be autistic. Homose.xu.al.it.y is a choice, not a genetic condition and it does not put you at any health disadvantage, and the fact that you can't claim welfare benefits just for the 'condition of being g.a.y' makes the difference clear. I don't hate homo.s; They are people like me, who only chose to a particular s.e.xua.l lifestyle. I love them like Christ commands but I don't love their se.xual lifestyle, and cannot under secular law be forced to love or engage int he act of so.do/my. Back to thread's topic; Christianity is not 'The British Religion'! You should try to tell a british court that Britain is a christian country and see how you would be laughed out of there! ![]() |
Logicboy03: Yet another christian that misses the point of the thread! The British may have dropped the traditional 'going to church because society says so' but there are still many who love the Lord and remain truly xtian and many more coming back from the 'world' into Christ(I say this because I attend a spirit-filled 99% white church here). Gradual de-chritianisation is not peculiar to the British. Many Christian all over the world fall away from the church and many new people find christ. Go back and look at the history of those countries you claim are secular today, they were christian and they got where they are today ont he shoulders of christianity. Society may change it's course, attitudes and it definition of morals, right and wrong but Christ does not change. Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. The point is you made an error in suggesting Nigeria Xtians to do whatever British Xtians do. You should by extension say that Nigeria should do whatever Britain does. Why has Nigeria not decriminalised homosexuality? Got rid of the death penalty? Got rid of corruption? Become a welfare state? Kept terrorism under control? Ensure justice is available and affordable to the general citizenry? Is it all because this 'largely muslim country'( - according to how the british left it) still hold on to xtianity?Xtianity does not hold back societal progress; The selfish, greedy people we continue to elect (or who find their by hook or crook and want to continue keeping the majority of Nigerians in poverty so they can be worshipped as 'big men') into leadership do! |
I bet logicboy03 wishes he never started this thread now! Christians - in Nigeria and world over - are neither bound nor accountable to the British but to Christ! Understood?? Get it into your atheist skull! Lots of love, Signed seyibrown. |
She try na! Na 'cash madam' type of dance be dat o! ![]() |
Shambles! A woman who has just given birth will know she has. Was this woman sedated for 9 months? While the safety and well-being of the baby is paramount, criminal activity on the part of the couple is still suspect. A mother is possibly mourning the loss of this child somewhere in Nigeria! |
@ OP Jesus is the Author and finisher of the christian faith, not the British! The Bible tells us to look to Jesus; not to the British! Faithful christians are not responsible for the fate of Nigeria today; unfaithful christians contribute to it. Most British Christian are only Christian in name, like many Nigerian Christians, and many Xtians world over. |
My questions is DO trinitarians believe THERE ARE THREE GODS? |
Perhaps, the comparison was being made to human inventors, i.e creators of cars, mobile phones, clothing etc! I do agree with the OP that if a certain god were to admit and refer to the existence of other creators of such things as he created, then he is not the almighty God, creator of heaven and earth! @ Sweetnecta: Eleshe a ma sa nigba ti a ko le! Re: 16, 19, 6 and 9! O s'ojo! Ko ye ka ma b'omokunrin n'idi ojo! ![]() |
seyibrown: @SweetnectaWell, Looks like Sweetnecta cannot find a defence for his argument that Aisha was 16 or 19 at consummation, given that muslim females between those ages DO NOT play with dolls and Aisha was still playing with her dolls. Conclusion? The marriage was consummated at 9, in accordance to Aisha's own testimony as recorded in ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS TEXTS, and Sweetnecta - as usual - deliberately tries to pull the wool over 'his own eyes' on this matter! |
On this 'water baptism' matter, please, let us see Matthew 3: 7 - 17 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%203:7-17&version=NIV Matthew 3:7-17 (NIV) 7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing, he said to them: “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? 8 Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. 9 And do not think you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham. 10 The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire. 11 “I baptize you with[a] water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. 12 His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor, gathering his wheat into the barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” The Baptism of Jesus 13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. 14 But John tried to deter him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?” 15 Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented. 16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. 17 And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” John tells the Pharisees and the Saduducees who came for 'water baptism' to 'bear fruits that meet with repentance'. This means after you are water-baptised, you still need to bear good fruits. The water-baptism does not make it easier to stop sinning. John goes on to tell them that someone was coming after him who will baptise them with the Holy Spirit and Fire. I agree with ecoleco's point that people will feel differently after baptism. Not everyone gets a dove descend upon them in the physical after their water baptism and a voice declaring their sonship like Jesus, as many people got water-baptised before Jesus and they got no physical dove or declaration. I no of no one other than Jesus in this present age who has had a physical declaration upon their baptism. This may happen in the spiritual to some ( in part-agreement with Pastor AIO). I opine that water-baptism is akin to physical circumcision as Holy-spirit baptism is akin to 'circumcision of the heart' on the basis that 'circumcision of the heart' was called for over 'circumcision of the flesh'. In both cases, the latter is more important that the former, and in most cases the latter happens and the former does not happen at all, and where the former happens with people old enough to make a conscious decision in understanding, the latter happens before the first. Water-baptism may not be only symbolic (as opined by Pastor AIO) but Holy-Spirit baptism is much more important. Jesus humself persuaded John to water-baptise him to 'fulfil all righteousness'. I continue to search the scriptures. |
djeezy: @topic, I was on top of woman doing my thing when suddenly I received a call †̥̥o̲̣̥ come απϑ collect a huge sum of money. Two weeks latter the girl told me that any guy that sleeps with her, starts getting calls for money. I don't know if it's true or not.Just calmed down after all that laughter! Thank God you didn't swallow it! This would have been a situation of 'won n tan e, O n tan Lantern! ![]() |

@ orikinla Yuo didn't have to put your views in so big a font! |
tintingz: hehehe. . .christians are not God chosen people cuz Jesus nor God never call christian my chosen people no mention of christianity by Jesus it was paul who found christianity. . .the jews are laughing at what they created christianity. . .i should have go for Judaism instead of christianity since Jews are called God chosen people but NEVER. . .they rejected christ Jesus and insult MaryThe 'Nation' (a people) that love God. These people are not divided along geographical boundaries, ethnicity, skin colour or language lines. This nation is the one that worships God 'in spirit and in truth', not by rituals! A nation of people that love their neighbours, and not kill them. You seem to know a lot about Jesus, respect and agree he is the messiah etc! Why then do you ignore the light and chose to walk in darkness? Na so you like NEPA? Be sincere with yourself and ask the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to visit you, if you can not ask the God of Jesus - whom you have very much confessed with your mouth on this thread to have been sent by God - to visit you. Come out of darkness into the light of God. In Jesus name, Amen! |
tintingz: lol are you high on something? I am one of God's chosen people o! Boya lo mo! Chosen to show forth his praises and shine as light set up on a hill in this dark dark world (No thanks to NEPA)! You better join God's chose people today, tintingz! |
tintingz: being in the tomb is not my point. . .my real point is "is Jonah a dead man or alive in the fish belly?" if Mary could go to the tomb where Jesus was buried to "anoint" a 3days dead body?? Why would someone woke up early in the morning to massage a 3days dead body when it's not possible. . .something is realy fishy in that tomb. Perhaps tintingz would volunteer to be 'buried in the earth for three days' to demonstrate the 'something fishy in the tomb' that happened to Jesus! ... or try staying in a 'fish's belly' for three days! ![]() |

@Sweetnecta Four simple questions and I require four straight answers, please. 1. Are Muslim females allowed to play with dolls up to the age of 16 and 19? 2. Was Eve created as a new born baby or a woman? 3. Will you allow (have you allowed) any man to have s/e.x with your daughter at the age of 6 or 9? 4. Have you had s.e/x with any female aged between 1 month and 9 years? |
^^^ nopuqeater resurrected as Sweetnecta a long time ago! He's here on this thread: https://www.nairaland.com/1074464/only-want-engage-two-non/3#12593412 |
Self-service is not a sin but it will very well inhibit your spiritual growth. When it becomes an addiction, You will find yourself reaching for it (like a baby self-soothing by sucking on a dummy) rather than reaching for the Lord. Introduction of images and objects is not advisable! |
Fast and pray. Ask God to cleanse you from spiritual pollution and break every ungodly spiritual ties in your life. Ask God for strength to resist fornication/immoral thoughts if you have that problem. |
Restitution is a great gesture. It gives the offending party and the offended closure (as much as possible). It takes humility and sincere repentance to do it! |
Pastor AIO: I am of the opinion that baptism (water) has a real effect on the spirit of the person being baptized and it is not 'only' symbolic.Maybe ... What about that new christian in Saudi or Pakistan whose family must never know they are now 'an apostate'? Perhaps a female who never gets to go anywhere on her own, not to talk about going to get baptized somehwere? It could have an effect on the spirit but I don't know. |
Callotti: NIGERIANS ARE THE MOST WRETCHEDLY WICKED PEOPLE IN THE WHOLE WORLDAbsolutely incorrect!
What have I learnt from the ALUU Debacle? I have learnt that if we don't see the minute by minute, second by second killing of another person, we really don't care. This explains why no one is really hot under the collar for the Boko Victims. Hellooooo, how can we scream for justice for them when we weren't given the chance to see their intestines explode right out of their body or their heads blown clean off of their shoulders??!! Duh!!! Yep, if you want people to have "sleepless nights" over, be "appalled" by, "wring their hands" in concern at. . . the injustice meted on you, you'd better have someone film it and the more gruesome it is, well. . .the better for you. THIS is what I learnt from the ALUU debacle.
I agree! Majority sleep easy because the full reality of what could happen to them, their relative does not confront them! What have the women in government today done about security officials ra/pin/g women in custody? What has our government done about extra-judicial killings by our security outfits? |
truthislight: can you please explain the principle behind baptism?ROMANS 6: 1-5 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? 3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. Baptism or no baptism, when God forgives your sins, he forgives them. That you get baptised in water or not does not mean God will 'use your former sins against you'. The idea behind baptism and forgiveness is to 'go and sin no more', and start afresh! Water baptism is only symbolic, unlike Holy-Spirit baptism. Water baptism is a ceremony outwardly demonstrating what has happened on the inside. Water baptism is not a pre-condition to becoming born-again or for Holy spirit baptism. Being dipped in water does not affect your inner-man; anybody can get dipped in water or dip people in water. It is your inner-man that cannot be touched by physical water that gets born-again, renewed and baptised by the spirit of God. As those who have been water baptised will confirm, the ceremony does not stop you from sinning. It is the spirit of God within you that helps you do that, and yet, it is still your choice to sin or not to sin, post-water baptism. |
truthislight: can you please explain the principle behind baptism? it is upto you to explain what the principle of baptism is based on. we are still waiting for you to come and explain what the principe of baptism is based on.Take it easy, Bro! Three posts in two hours asking me to explain something not mentioned at all in your original posts about the wages of sin being physical death. Will be back with an on as soon as I have got time. |
